Itinerary
Day 1
1
You’ll be able to experience this waterfall right up close as it crashes off the side of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano from a height of 60 meters. During summer months you will be able to walk behind the waterfall.
A hidden waterfall, which most visitors miss. We’ll tell you where to find it! It is not easy, as it is hidden in a cave
Skogafoss is one of the most iconic waterfalls in the world, and even featured in “Game of Thrones”. Because of its south-facing position, it is often covered in rainbows as the 60-meter cascade of water produces a lot of spray! Skogafoss is one of the most popular sights in the country and it’s possible to climb to the top of the falls to see it from there too.
Solheimajokull is part of one of the largest glaciers in the country, Myrdalsjokull. Will take you to the viewing platform to soak in the spectacular view.
Our next stop is Dyrhólaey, which means “Door Hill Island”. It’s actually an impressive peninsula that stretches across several towering stacks and stone arches, overlooking the black sand beach at Reynisfjara. The views from here are marvelous in every direction.
It is now time to visit the world-famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara, where beautifully-shaped basalt columns hug the cliffs, volcanic sands are pounded by powerful Atlantic waves and the starkly shaped sea stacks of the Reynisdrangar tower just offshore.
Day 2
2
Our first stop is at the geothermal park, where you’ll explore bubbling hot springs and experience Iceland’s geothermal energy up close. There you will see the Eilífur Geysir, which erupts every 15-20 minutes. While you’re here, be sure to try hverabrauð, the sweet, steam-baked geothermal bread fresh out of the on-site bakery, and visit the greenhouse to see experimental banana plants growing in this geothermal paradise.
Visit the spectacular Kerid Volcanic Crater, a 3000 year old crater which is 55 meters deep.
Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, will greet you with it´s amazing beauty and power.
Witness the amazing world famous Geysir hot spring and its active neighbor Strokkur, erupting up 30 meters high every few minutes.
You will discover Thingvellir which is the old site of the Icelandic parliament, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listed for its amazing nature and rich history.

Super accommodating and friendly experience. The guides were so helpful and knowledgeable. Dominica was fantastic. She really knew so much about the area, and threw in some very key details and personal experiences. The transportation was very clean and they picked me up and dropped me off right at my hotel. Forgive me, but I’ve forgotten the guides name on the first day, but I’ve added a photo in the hopes someone can remind me his name. He was wonderful and walked me right in to the hotel on the first night to ensure I was taken care of.
You may do the golden circle or the south coast tour in any order. South coast is spectacular and much less touristy than golden circle but obviously both tours are mind blowing. We stayed in the “greenhouse hotel” Hveragerdi, which was beautiful. You may also stay at hotel Ork, which has its own thermal pool, but is slightly older. Both are good and within walking distance of food halls and amazing Icelandic soft serve ice cream. Overall an amazing experience!
Great tour, luxury hotel. Highly recommended! Our guide was funny and knowledgeable and we learned about Icelandic music
So many different things to see in 2 days. The overnight breakfast was awesome in the greenhouse. Our tv didn’t work and did not have a solution. The guide took several phone calls which challenged my ease of safety. Make sure hat and gloves and proper rain gear is taken. We had a bus connection to make and they did everything to go smooth. Guide was a bit hard to understand but was knowledgeable. Overall the stops we made were all great and would recommend the itinerary to do this when in Iceland.
Me and my friend did the two day tour about a month ago and we could have not asked for a better tour guide. I would say about half of the reason we had such a good time on all the stops was because of him he was so accommodating and knowledgeable about everything about Iceland and had many jokes. He also brought us to like a lot of things that weren’t listed, but we had time for on the way that we would’ve never had time to do unless he brought us he needs a pay raise for real. - YOO HOO
This is a wonderful tour that takes you to see the beautiful nature of Iceland south coast and golden circle.
Anastasia drove us both days and was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I love the lunch choices. We found food halls to be wonderful with great lamb and fish soup. We had plenty of time at each stop. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Our two day tour was wonderful especially day one with Christina. She was friendly, thoroughly explained Icelandic culture in a fun way and gave great suggestions for the remainder of our trip. Because of the icy and snowy roads we did not want to rent a car but wanted to see the top locations in Iceland. This tour covered them all and allowed us to really get to know Iceland with stops at 10 places with the comfort of having someone else drive. Would definitely recommend.
I found this trip really fun and fulfilling, and our tour guide is absolutely lovely.
This was a well paced well organised smooth tour. It is a combination of two tours where you will stay the first night away from the capital and join the next tour next day. However it is stress free with clear instructions. We loved all the places we visited. Although short day time, the timing of the tour is perfect where we came to the black sand beach for sunset which was magical. Both drivers we met were respectful, knowledgable and funny in their own ways. Few things to note is that, the guides will only give you istructions on what to see and how to see a particular place so always get your instructions cleared before stepping away to see something. Also travel light with small bags. The vehicles were clean and comfortable. The two day tour is a very good way to experience highlights of Iceland in a short period. Truely recommend this.
This particular tour is 2 day tours combined so while we had the same tour guide both days, it could be 2 different tour guides. And it will be two different groups. But it was still great - it went everywhere you'd want to go, the bus was comfortable, the guide was great. Would recommend.
This was a marvelous experience! We saw and experienced so many beautiful sights. The tour company and guide were excellent. Would highly recommend this tour.
This tour covers many of the key spots to see in southern Iceland and golden circle. Our guide Christina was amazing! Nice travel had every detail covered. I will definitely do another tour with them when I come back- yes I will be back!
Nice Travel is a well run machine! They are on time, VERY responsive to clients and deliver a really good product. GREAT value! We completed the 2-Day Highlights of Iceland Tour Package - "Intro to the Land of Ice and Fire" BUT there is one tour which stood out. That said, this two-day package was perfect and our guide for both days was Addie. He was really spectacular! He was very informative and kept things on track and offered some great suggestions that made great use of out time. If you are short on time this is the best way to see the real highlights outside of Reykjavík. These days are jammed packed with great sites and you wont be disappointed. We booked the two-day package rather than two single day tours in order to reduce travel time back to Reykjavík. This approach provides additional time for rest - it proved to be well worth it! Nice Travel booked us into "The Greenhouse Hotel", which was great. If I had to pick ONE tour I would go with Golden Circle over the South Coast of Iceland. Both tours are great! As I said, both are jammed packed and are long days which given you great value and an awesome experience. I liked the Golden Circle given it caps off a magnificent day with some well-deserved rest in the Hvammsvík Spa geothermal pools. This is a MUST DO. This location is majestic! The whole days is one great site after another: Gullfoss, Strokkur's Geyser, (Kerið) the volcanic crater and Þingvellir National Park. You really see the best!
Filip was an excellent guide and was very good at keeping us on time so we could spend the maximum amount of time at each stop. Wonderful stories about Iceland and worked very hard to answer all our questions and make our trip enjoyable. Highly recommend.
I had an incredible time! Our guide Dominica was very knowledgeable, fun, and lively. The waterfalls were absolutely gorgeous and felt like we were in a different world! I have amazing photos and memories from this experience!
We did the 2-Day Highlights of Iceland. Over the course of our 2 week trip, these two days were absolutely the highlight of our vacation. Bjarki, our tour guide, did a phenomenal job teaching us all about the sites we visited as well as transporting us safely and timely to all of our stops. 100% if we went again, we'd ask specifically to book with Bjarki. Takk fyrir!
Took this tour with my elderly father and 2 cousins (one of which has knee issues) and LOVED it. We opted for the Hvammsvikk spa add-on and was totally worth it. Not crowded and super relaxing. Our tour guide Christina was top notch. So knowledgable, funny, considerate and kind. She really was hyper aware of my father's and cousin's issues and made accommodations that were subtle and kind. The hotel we stayed at was clean and restful. We didn't have a lot of time so this tour was a great intro into this beautiful country. I should also add that for the two of us that were mobile, it was a great adventure especially in the falls and volacano crater. Great trip for everyone.
We had Vlad and Mika as our tour guides for our two days trip. Both were so funny and informative throughout the whole trip. Specific shout out to Vlad because our first day in Iceland we had some unexpected high winds of 45-50mph and it was a bit of a bumpy ride but he made sure we either slowed down or stopped to ensure we arrived safely to our next destination. Both drivers ensured we had a smooth transition to our hotel prior to pulling off. Hotel booking was very nice (looked recently renovated). But overall, generous timeframes for each stop, never felt lost on where to go or meet up, added extra opportunities for amazing views/experiences. Thank you Nice travel for starting our honeymoon off perfectly (weather aside lol)
This is a long overdue review—we traveled to Iceland back in October of 2024 and joined the 2-Day Highlights of Iceland Tour Package | Intro to the Land of Ice and Fire. While the entire tour was amazing, day two with Gulli as our guide was truly something special. Where do I even begin? Gulli wasn’t just a tour guide—he was an experience. A poet of the landscape, a geyser whisperer, and possibly part elf (unconfirmed, but we have our suspicions). All jokes aside, Gulli was hilarious, insightful, and deeply passionate about Iceland, he brought every stop on our trip with his rich storytelling and quick wit. We absolutely loved his humor and the personal stories he shared throughout the trip. The best part? After the tour, we had the chance to meet up with Gulli for a quick drink that evening, and then again for coffee with his dad and friends the next morning before our departure. That’s how much of a genuine connection he created in just one day. We had such a memorable time that we’re actually returning to Iceland in just two weeks—and of course, we’re booking another day tour with Nicetravel. Takk fyrir, Gulli. You’re a legend. Can’t wait to be back.
Amazing trip! The tour guides were very informative and kind! We really enjoyed this beautiful country. Highly recommended!
Amazing tour visiting great places. Our tour guide was exceptional explaining every detail. Amazing views. Great acomodation
Valtýr was a wonderful guide. Loved all the stops. Well paced. Had an issue with the booking and the local Nice Travel people were able to fix it before the tour - good customer service. Would highly recommend and use the company again.
An excellent tour. Our guide/driver David is extremely knowledgeable and does a great job of communicating with the group. We learned a lot in 2 exciting days and had a lot of fun. In addition, David is extremely well-organized and a very good driver.
I was excited about seeing so many waterfalls and puffins. I did see several waterfalls and a lot of puffins. The tour guides were very informative with injecting history about the stops. I also enjoyed the side stop at Lake Laugarvatn and seeing how rye break is baked in geothermal pits. I just wish the weather was better but still enjoyed the tour.
Our guide on the second day was fantastic!!! CHRISTINA made the trip memorable and so much fun. The little things she did made it feel like the tour was personalized just for us. Anyone that gets her as their guide is lucky.
First day golden circle guide was disappointed, he was quite arrogant &a bit rude, we are sat in the van and I can see the time there's two people were 3 minutes late and he just said to them you're late in not very good way . He tried to explain everything as he drives,I'm not sure about everyone but sometime when I'm sitting in a van travelling I actually fell asleep, once we arrived in tourist spot drop us off and told us what time and where to pick us up and he just popped back in the van or disappeared because of that we missed the first water fall which really wants to see, He just said follow the road 10 minutes up to the fall &10 minutes down but there was quite a few falls in between so we thought we got the right one. Around 4:30 the guide drop us off the hotel look good ! But some emergencies situation happen my friend certainly not well so we try to call the reception using the phone in the hotel room we tried many times and then we realize the phone it's not working so I have to change my pajama and run up to the reception with water dripping from my hair, which the nighttime receptionist he was very nice but no emergency doctor & found the address for emergency clinic nearby also said the hotel having problems only with the floor we stayed,. Well I thought the hotels supposed to let the guests know , phone line is down when we first checki in anyway we got a taxi all the way to the emergency clinic by ourselves . Next day morning I went to the receptionist who check us in and told him you should have told us there's a phone problem ,he did apologize but he looked like he doesn't mean it. Second day we've got a new guide for south coast day trip guide Christina , I only can say she was excellent and very helpful that's why I gave this trip four star because of her if not Christina this trip not even earn any star from me.
The trip with nice travel was excellent. I especially appreciate our guide, Christina. Beautiful, careful, humorous and professional. The atmosphere in minibus is really comfort. The scenic views are astonishing. I would definitely recommend this trip to my friends. 不是这个点评怎么只算中文呢。总之这个确实挺不错的,尤其是酒店所在的位置。五点到了之后,我自己再往山里徒步了四个小时。很漂亮,有很多野生温泉。这个导游很奈斯,很热情。good.
Nice tour but we didn’t visit two of the locations in the itinerary, which was disappointing. Hotel is very basic and didn’t cater for vegan breakfast.
The guides were very kind. They help us in everything. The hotel wasn’t luxury but the restaurant was good. We enjoy the warm swimmingpool
Both tour guides were very knowledgeable and accommodating. The days were a good mix of travel and sightseeing with plenty of stops to stretch your legs and take in the scenery.
The waterfalls were amazing and the island over black beach was and unexpected delightful surprise thank you
On Day. 1, we had an amazing Golden circle Tour in perfect weather: very warm, blue skies, bright sunshine. Our driver and guide,Elias Andersen, was excellent- very cooperative, responsive and a good storyteller. He also gave us plenty of time for hikes, meals and bathroom breaks. The beauty of the Golden Circle is just second to none: we walked in Pingvellar National Park, had plenty of time to look at the geysers in Geisir, hiked up to see magnificent Gullfoss (The Golden) Waterfall) from all angles, walk around miraculous Keri’s crater with oval turquoise lake at the bottom of it. Elias dropped us off the Hotel Ork for our overnight stay in Hveragerði, the town famous for geothermal activity. Day 2 was a totally fabulous experience: The bus has arrived right on time and we fell in love with our guide, Maria, right from from the start. She is the most cheerful, welcoming, approachable and accommodating person, who understood our wishes perfectly and was always willing to give us some extra time, if we needed it. The first notable sight along the way was the loneliest tree of Iceland: a little fir on the rock in the middle of the river. So simple and so picturesque… Then we passed through the nice little town called Selfoss, the place where the famous chess player and the world champion Bobby Fisher lived after he had defected from the US to Iceland. We had a short stop there only because someone in our group asked about it and Maria, who accommodates all requests, made a stop just for him to take a photo. The next stop was lovely Urridafoss Falls, a mighty waterfall not popular with tourists for some reason. We also crossed the river where famous Icelandic wild salmon comes from. Continued our journey and admired the view of Hekla volcano again at the distance. The volcano is active, but the last eruption had happened in 1918. It always amazes me how people live near active volcanoes, but in Iceland they do it for generations accepting evacuation orders as something normal, and on many occasions these evacuations last for several months. Maria told us it is absolutely safe to live close to volcanoes because Iceland scientists predict eruptions precisely. Westman Islands is the place of active volcanoes, where people live and work. Then we passed by another big volcano, Katla volcano and glacier. Looked magnificent in bright sunshine. Next we had a short stop to look at the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano (the “E16 Volano” had erupted in 2010 and caused massive international flights cancellations) and some old uninhabited huts built in the mountain, followed by several charming old houses of the Skogar Museum. After that, we arrived to the gorgeous Skogar Waterfall, where I climbed the steps up to the top of the fall (not for those with bad knees). Actually, the views were more spectacular from the ground: magnificent mighty stream of falling water and the rainbow! Along the climb I was so close to the rainbow I thought I could touch it. Next equally exciting stop was at the Sólheimajökull Glacier, where we didn’t do the hike inside the glacier, but we did hike to the entrance of the cave and had a chance to admire jaw-dropping views of the glacier. Then we arrived at Dyrhólaey ("Door Hill Island") in hope to see the puffins but they have already started their migration. Well, the island is so gorgeous that I didn’t miss the puffins. I couldn’t take my eyes off dramatic cliffs, the ocean, and towering rocks of Reynisfjara at the distance. Then we had a short refueling break at the charming little town of Vik, took photos of the iconic church, and had a late lunch at the Cafe Lava. Soon after Vik we arrived to the highlight of our trip: Reynisfjara - The Black Beach. It is a miracle of a sight: a symphony of black volcanic ash on the beach, mighty black and golden cliffs, deep caves with whimsical mosaic of the walls inside, and maybe even puffins, but we still failed to find them. The last stop was at Seljalandsfoss & Gljufrabui Waterfalls. So much fun for kids and adults! We came very close to the falls but didn’t venture to pass under them and get an unwanted shower. I took a lot of pictures and said hello to two very friendly sheep, who came really close to greet us. Then an 90 minutes drive to Reykjavik.. We arrived at the Reykjavik Lights Hotel around 8:45pm. We are so grateful to Maria! She is the best guide in the world, who loves her country and generously shares her passion with us, travelers. Maria, you are Iceland! At least for us you are!
Brilliant trip, guides on both days excellent. Fantastic overnight hotel and a chance to explore somewhere outside Reykjavik. Thank you!
We missed the beginning of our tour, the pickup location was the BSI Bus terminal at 9 am, unfortunately, our flight arriving in Reykjavík was delayed more than 2 hours due to the weather conditions at O'hare international airport in Chicago. We want to thank you, the wonderful travel agents from Nice Travel-Iceland, Elisa, Michal, Weronika, and anyone else that was involved for the help and patience with this situation, which was my fault for scheduling our tour immediately after landing in KEF. Furthermore, we were picked up by Pjetur a wonderful storyteller, we learned about Iceland's history, past and present, he had a great sense of humor, we laughed so hard that our stressful late arrival complications despaired, Pjetur drove us to the point of the tour where the rest of the group was at the moment. Not only that, but we have a fantastic time after joining the tour. The overnight accommodations were amazing, with a typical Icelandic breakfast (yummy!) We enjoyed wonderful sights, South Iceland, the golden circle, craters, glaciers, puffins, waterfalls, volcanoes, and black sand beach. Overall excellent guide, and very knowledgeable; My teenagers and I had an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!!
This was an amazing two days. We had slightly different group both days as some did not do both days but by the end of the trip all of us were great friends. JK was out guide for the first day showing us the Golden circle. He was full of excellent information and shared a lot about Icelandic life between stops. Egill was our guide for the South Coast. He was a man of few words but made sure we had information on each stop. Both guides added several bonus stops that were great. Our group was on time which gave them the room to add items and we all enjoyed the extra stops. Our hotel in Hveragerði, Hotel Ork was lovely and we had time to explore the town in the evening and morning. Egill really watched the weather and reworked our itinerary to make sure we saw things in the best possible light. I cannot recommend this tour and Nice Travel more highly. It was great!
Day with Vladimir as guide was very good. Knowledgable and personable. Weather was terrible but was fun anyway
Wow! Honestly don't know if I can put into words how much we loved this tour! I cannot recommend it enough :) The tour started being picked up at our hotel in Reykjavik, our guide for the first day was Thorir, he was fantastic, he shared stories and information along the way and threw in a few dad jokes. We learned so much from him that we would have never found on our own and his love of the sights and country is obvious. The sights were amazing, we never felt rushed and any questions we had were answered. The bus was full but we were comfortable, the USB charging and wifi is a bug plus. After the tour of the Golden Circle we were taken to the hotel for the night. The next day we were picked up by Christina for The South Beach Tour, she called us about pick up as we were the only people on the tour that day, so were picked up a little early! (I doubt this is a common thing, but think its amazing that they still ran the tour for the two of us when they could have put us on another tour and had us wait for activities). Christina was fantastic, again she had a fantastic knowledge of Iceland and told us so many interesting fact and small snippets! She was able to fit in a few extra stops for us as could really tailor the tour to the weather and our desires because of her local knowledge. She even took some amazing pictures of us! The South Coast was absolutely stunning and a must see! I honestly can not recommend this tour and this tour company enough! The ease and comfort of the tours was much higher than I expected and the local knowledge of the tour guides is invaluable, especially when it comes to being kept safe in what can be dangerous parts of nature. They make the tours so interesting and personal :) JUST DO IT!
Amazing 2 day jammed packed tour but even better, was my guide Cristina. Enthusiastic, patient and so much knowledge. She went out of her way to show us as much as she could, even stops not included in the package. Even with the never ending change of weather, she made it so fun. Thank you Cristina!!!!
We got a true Iceland experience during our two-day tour! Black sand beach was amazing to see in the snow; the glacier was spectacular; the Geysir impressive… there was a lot packed in the short time. We stayed in Sellfoss overnight and the hotel and our view from the room was jaw-dropping- we also saw the Northern Lights from here too! Axel & Marea were friendly and energetic guides; a huge TAKK to them! Highly recommended tour-
Both days of the tour had several interesting stops, especially all beautiful waterfalls. My favourite though was the additional stop ar lighthouse with breathtaking views. Our guide Jonas was the best noticing everybody and taking care of people’s safety and comfort as well. Great stories and info of each sight.
This was AMAZING. We did the south coast over 2 days with our great guide Christina who made us discover her country that she loves so much. Not only did we get to enjoy some great activities (glacier hikes, waterfall visits) but Christina's experience allowed us to discover some of the more secret places she knows. During these two days, we were never bored and I never felt out of place. Must do's in Iceland
