Great location close to attractions and restaurants. Bus stop across the street for travel to farther locations in the city. Comfortable rooms, unique decor, and a friendly staff. Restaurant and bar are great and convenient for bad weather days. Marina view room with balcony was very enjoyable.

The hotel is nice and clean. Stuff is welcoming. However, due to construction, parking is no longer available, street metered parking is about $20 per day. No discounts from hotel for parking in the area, apologies were verbal only. Not sure if on site parking will ever be available, looks like the new construction project took over parking lot. Check with hotel before coming. Metered street parking was not hard to find. Our room on the first floor was much to be desired. Upper level of wide bunk bed is very high and can be dangerous for small children. Windows are opaque and not very sound proof, we were able to hear people passing by and talking on the street. Bed mattress is way too soft.
Rooms are small compared to American hotels. Nice and clean. Nice staff. Good breakfast. Parking, not so good. No idea where you park a car if you had one. Boat yard right out front. Interesting to say the least. Easy walking to the center of town and many attractions close.
I stayed here for a few nights pre cruise. Rooms: 4/5 perfect size for a solo traveler. The room was clean and basic. They cleaned the room daily and replaced the towels when necessary. Service: 4/5 - there's a restaurant attached to the hotel which I did't eat at. They had 2/1 dining nites on Mondays and Tuesdays. The entrance/lobby area is inviting in a modern contemporary setting. The staff was kind in letting me borrow the plug adapter. There's a small snack & drinks station near the reception to by snacks/drinks. Location: good location. You're about 10 minutes walk from Bus Stop #4 where all the tour pickups are. You're also close to where the whale watching tours are. The shopping street - Laugavegur is about a 15 minute walk. They are a few good restaurants nearby - Ramen Momo, DEIG workshop (bagel place), Le Kock. I would stay here again.
We stayed here for six nights on a British Airways holiday and can't imagine a better location in this major port city. The view from our room was of a working shipyard with two fishing boats being refurbished on the slipways. The maritime museum and four or five popular restaurants and a few cafés were nearby. The reception staff were endlessly patient, kind and efficient. The building looks more like an Arctic research station than a hotel but has real character inside with a brilliant library, excellent signage and original wood sculptures, pictures and seafaring antiques. There's a classy bar with classic Icelandic food and a not quite big enough breakfast area at the busiest times. We'd very happily stay there again.
