In the middle of Laugavegur, Reykjavik's main street. Location is close to everything--restaurants, bars, shops. Service is incredible. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We had an itinerary and after hearing the staff's suggestion, we had to change ours and follow his advice which we're glad we did! There is a sauna in the patio if you booked the suite. I highly recommend! Only downside is you can only do street parking. It's not hard to find one, you just have to walk a few blocks which we didn't mind at all.
The hotel is GREAT! The staff were really kind and welcoming and the rooms are beautifully designed with a really nice view. The fact that there are only a few rooms at the hotel makes it feel more personal and comfortable, so I'd definitely recommend it to solo-travelers. The location is superb - it's surrounded by cafes, restaurants and right at the Laugavegur!
Location is perfect for downtown Reykjavík, right in the middle of everything. Parking can be a little challenge but done load the Parka app you can do it from your phone, plan on $20+ a day to find street parking. Staff was great and breakfast vouchers for Von hotel down the block were perfect, nothing hidden just give them your vouchers and enjoy the breakfast!
We stayed at ION City Hotel during our Nordic Tour stop in Reykjavík — April 11 at Harpa Norðurljós. Our team was spread across the Panorama Suite and a Junior Suite, and both delivered well beyond expectations.
The moment you walk into the Panorama Suite, the view stops you. Mountains and city framed floor to ceiling — the kind of first impression that stays with you. Add a private sauna and a full kitchen, and it is hard to leave the room.
