This hotel is incredible! Centrally located, clean, warm, and easy to find. It also has great views and wonderful patios where you can experience the Icelandic weather without gearing up. They also give you Icelandic candy after cleaning your room! The only cons I have are the extremely loud church bells from next door that go off without rhyme or reason, although that is only an issue on one side of the hotel, and the staff is not very kind. We had a few questions about breakfast, and while they may not have been rude, the people at the front desk were just very matter of fact.
Very expensive property. It is a Hilton property. However, the location is great for walking around downtown Reykjavik. Close to shopping, pubs, and restaurants. The staff is not overly friendly and we were upset considering how much the room rate was. We asked to check in early and was told they would call when our room was ready. They did take and hold our luggage. We came back twice and were told the room was not ready. The third time was at the regular checking time and we were then told the room was just ready 10 minutes earlier. No call. The plug in the bathroom did not work, and was reported to maintenance when we checked out. Terrible selection of channels on the television. Nice spa and hot tub available, but costs extra. Considering the price of the room, that was rather disappointing. If we had to do over again, we would stay at another property in the area. Not worth the price.
The room was very clean also the bed was comfortable. Just stayed one night however I really liked the location. Was very easy to get around. Also getting to the airport was a breeze as the bus stop is very close. Also close to the main bus terminal to walk if the weather is nice.
With a spot right in the middle of town, you can access all of the most popular spots by walking with ease. Unfortunately, although customer service was nice, the restaurant left something to be desired. With such expensive prices, I expected some taste for my dollar, but instead everything seemed geared more towards looks on Instagram than actual enjoyment. The fries on my Steak and Fries were tasteless, and the waitress told me my only options for cooking my steak were rare or well-done! Overall the Parliament Hotel looks good and that's about it.
Truly central to so many things. Even a 30 min walk to a destination is nothing. On top of being close, it's absolutely stunning and clean rooms are another reason to stay. Front desk is the definition of hospitality. Gorgeous art all around the hotel to look at, the restraunt and bar are absolutely delicious, and the spa in the basement took one of our days to a whole other level.
