1) The reception staff is friendly and pleasant. They helped us store our bags when we arrived early and then made efforts to get us checked in early. 2) The rooms feel a bit dated and in need of some updates and repair. Our room safe was broken. The room has no climate control and feels stuffy and hot. The hallway to the room also has an overwhelming odor that feels like it needs some ventilation. 3) They have some weird rules here. The fitness center is locked. They won’t unlock it until 7am. Why? Who knows? If you want to get a workout in before heading out for the day forget about it. The fitness center and the equipment they have is good and was part of the draw for us but now it is unusable as we need to head out early. I would absolutely have chosen a different hotel had these odd rules been made clear prior to booking.

Perfect hotel. Great location. Awesome breakfast. Given Icelandic prices relatively good value for money. Rooms could be viewed not vastly spacious.
I can't comment on the rooms because I cancelled my appointment prior to the visit due to lackluster service from the front desk. I was trying to coordinate an early check in (for which I offered to pay) and find out about parking and was met with a disappointing lack of effort. My question about parking was simply ignored. Looks like a very nice hotel in a great location though. I just wouldn't recommend it for special occasions or if you have any special needs...or a car.
The location was just perfect! The breakfast was delicious, and I appreciate that they had gluten free bread. The room was clean and cozy. The staff were all very kind and friendly. 10/10 would recommend and will be staying here again for sure!
price gouge during blizzard, beware. had 1 night booked but due to weather had to arrive 2 night early. checked in saying we need "extend reservation 2 add'l night". check out... it went from $172 night prepaid to $450 night EACH add'l night. true story. go their website, go online anywhere try book a room here in April.. it's under or close to 200. show up when you're about to be blizzarded in.. it's 450. and if you argue it, they do not care. you're just another tourist passing through with a credit card they want to run up. Planning another trip next summer but i can guarantee you it doesnt include this place. price gouge, in the states it's illegal but here it's a free for all. recommend choose another place that appreciates your business and sees you as human not just a walking credit card.
