Hotel Odinsve

Great value. We had two rooms. Both had comfortable sitting areas as well as a separate sleeping area. The bathrooms were small but sufficient. Reception staff was very helpful. Easy walk to the church and sculpture garden one direction or Parliament Square in the other. Be sure to give the cab driver the address or Snaps Restaurant. Ours went to the Odinsve Apartments a couple of blocks away and had to backtrack. (He turned off the meter, but still)

We booked a Deluxe Double Room, which really didn’t reflect the standard of the room we stayed in, and the price we paid. The room was just basic, though did have a fridge. The bathroom could not have been smaller. With hindsight, we probably should have complained, but after such a long day, by the time we got our bags in the room we didn’t have the energy. There is paid on-street parking close by, and the parking region P2 wasn’t overly expensive as we didn’t need to pay overnight. It was worth it for the convenience. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice and was the best bit about our stay.

This hotel is in a prime location in Reykjavík being so close to Rainbow Street. It seems a bit older than the pictures make it seem. Our room seemed a bit outdated but it was functional. It did get quite musty in there even with the small window open. A mini fridge is provided which is a nice benefit. Overall was a decent stay though!

I've stayed here on a number of occasions because the location is close to my daughters house and perfect for walking around town while being in a less crowded neighbourhood. The rooms are all quite different, some older, some upgraded. The lower floor rooms facing the street are very noisy and I had to change rooms shortly after checking in. The best rooms for sleeping are on the fourth floor facing the back of the building. The beds are very comfortable.
