Great hotel located in a very convenient area of Reykjavík, right waterfront and directly opposite bus stop no. 12, a strategic starting point for excursion buses. The room was quiet, clean, and spacious, with very comfortable mattresses that guarantee a great night's sleep. The only small downside was the bathroom sink, which was really too small and awkward to use. Special mention for the breakfast: excellent and fully stocked with everything. Recommended!

Probably the best hotell you can get for location due to every tour always departing from Bus Stop 12 (right outside). Close walk both to the harbor and city center (local busses just around the corner). Beds are a bit soft so take care when you sit down to put on socks, else very comfortable. Was a bit warm in the room so we slept with the window open. TV had many channels. Bathroom very spacious with both a shower and a tub. There is a small fridge in the room that we used for softdrinks. Breakfast is what you expect. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a small shop down next to the reception with reasonably priced sandwiches and other things to snack on. In the cellar you also find a craft-beer pub. Did not try the restaurant in the hotell lobby though: We ate a lot of dinner around the corner at Hlemmur foodcourt which have 7'ish, good, restaurants.
Great staff, great breakfast and beautiful views from the room. Only complaint would be that my room was incredibly hot. I opened up the window and that barely helped. For the life of me I couldn't find a way to cool the room down. Overall an excellent stay.
We stayed at Fosshotel when we first arrived in Iceland. It was also where we chose to spend the last nights before we departed. This hotel did not disappoint!! The hotel was clean. The beds were comfortable; on the softer side which suited our preference. The rooms have darkening shades which helps adapt to the long days and short nights in May. Their breakfast was delicious; offering a great assortment of fruits, meats, cereals and fresh breads, and a proper cup of coffee. The breakfast staff is extremely attentive. Fosshotel was within walking distance (15 to 30 minutes) of wonderful restaurants, bakeries and the city center for shopping and browsing. It is a convenient base for exploring Reykjavik. Our bus transfer to The Blue Lagoon from Fosshotel was only a few minutes away. The staff of Fosshotel was friendly and did everything they could to make sure our stay was the best! I would highly recommend for anyone traveling to Iceland.
Wonderful experience staying here for a long weekend. We stayed in the tower and had breathtaking views of the mountains, water and city. Staff was amazing and rooms were great! We did ask for a table fan as we tend to like the room on the cooler side - the staff brought us a fan within minutes of us getting to the room. Between that and opening the window, we were super comfortable! Yes, the rooms are not air-conditioned, but really the climate does not require it...
