Canopy By Hilton Reykjavik City Centre

Canopy Hilton Rukvik. This is the first time in my life that I've stayed at such a poor hotel. I am already a Hilton Diamond Reserve member, which is the top tier. During check-in, I told them I am a Diamond member and requested a good, larger room because my friend and I had quite a bit of luggage. They said okay. However, the room they gave me was very small, dirty, and damaged. The phone and the heater weren't working. I called someone to report that the phone wasn't working, but we were so tired that we just slept as we were. When I woke up in the morning, I explained the situation. I had booked for two days, and since one day had already passed, I asked them to at least give me a better room for the remaining day. They showed no consideration and basically told me I could stay there if I wanted to. This is the first time in my life I've stayed in such an unclean hotel. Similarly, when I went for breakfast, they didn't show any courtesy at all. Even when speaking about small things, the mentality of the staff and the chef was just "eat what is here and leave." There was no consideration for cleanliness, and it was very unhygienic. I don't know what happened. This is my first time having such an experience at a Hilton; I've stayed at Hilton hotels in many places worldwide and at other hotel chains as well, but this is the first time I've seen such a dirty hotel.

Our stay was wonderful despite, the lack of air conditioning in the room. Julio and his team took exceptional care of us, ensuring we had every necessity for a comfortable visit. The breakfast buffet was truly out of this world with an incredible variety of options. Their signature "Multivitamin" juice was absolute perfection and a highlight of my mornings. We really loved this Hilton location, its people, and the overall greatness of Reykjavik. This Hilton location is definitely a place I plan to add to the rotation for future Icelandic trips!

The only positive about this hotel is the location. The guest service is not only non existent, but actually rude . Hospitality is apparently a 4 letter word. As diamond members we expect , at the very least, to be welcomed into the building. The woman who checked us in was void of even common courtesy. Furthermore, there is no air conditioning.

Great location to all downtown Reykjavik sites and locations. Breakfast in the restaurant is really, really good; didn't try lunch or dinner. Service at the desk was very nice. No hotel parking but there is a garage across the street. Stayed in two different rooms and both were really nice quality and views. No central AC but you can open the windows and they provide a room fan and there is a radiator in each room.
