A wonderful way to start a week in Reims! Anne is a knowledgeable and friendly guide. As a solo traveler, it was nice to share the champagne experience with 2 others in a small group. There is room for 6 guests, and you pick your language. Meeting by the tourism office near the train station was an easy walk from my accommodation. The 3 tastings ranged from a large house to a small family owned. Lunch, delicious & beautiful, was a champagne pairing experience. We saw the historical places as well as the beautiful region. The $286 USD included the small experience, 7 glasses of champagne and a brandy, excellent lunch, & transportation. I highly recommend it. My only advice is to bring a sturdy market bag to carry bottles of champagne after the tour.

Suzanne was wonderful! Very knowledgable about the growers, the process, the area, the history.
Very good experience with our guide Jerome today. E-bike ride with informative stops with guide explaining history of champagne-making. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing experience with Ann on our tour around Reims/Epernay. She was very knowledgeable, personable, and brought us to two phenomenal champagne houses. She helped us organize lunch, and got us some extra tastings. Highly recommend for your trip in Reims
Had a great private tour with a very knowledgeable guide (Thomas). The guide picked us up and dropped us off at the train station in Reims, which made it an easy day trip from Paris. We visited some small growers in the champagne region and learned a lot about the champagne production process.
Producers carefully chosen based on request at registration. Impeccably thoughtful and skilled guides native to the area. Comfortable pace. Excellent lunch experience at Le Corbier. Overall, I can’t imagine a reason to choose any other service in this region.
Theo was a wonderful guide. We went to two exceptional family champagne houses. Had a fantastic day and can’t wait for our champagne shipment to arrive at home.
We had the most wonderful visit to Champagne. Perrine was the most welcoming and fun tour guide! She was so knowledgeable and helped us learn all kinds of fun facts while we enjoyed the beautiful region and amazing champagne. We would highly recommend a private tour with Perrine to make the most of your visit to this beautiful part of France.
Perfect cutomer service from start to finish. We booked a private tour with a preset schedule. Clarification of payment, tweaks of the the schedule could be arragend in one quick phone call and some emails. The tour was planned to start at 10:00am with pickup in our Hotel. The guide was waiting at the lobby at 09:50. (This enlightned my german "on time is already late"-heart ;-) ) Martin is a well seasoned guide, a lot of knowledge of facts and dates but is also well connected with the wine grovers you visit and you really get insights in whats going on rather then getting reproduced memorized scripts. TOP guide, highly recommend asking for him. He is also very whitty and got a great sense of humor. It was a "a friend shows you around" experience and not "a guide doing his job". 6 stars out of 5 For lunch went to the A la Francaise Headquarters in the Champagne region, where you can meet also the other groups of the day. While waiting on the Aperitif we had the chance to chat with the owner about his concept of tours. Great guy with some brilliant ideas. Lunch was prepared onsite by their own chef and it was very good. Wine and champagne were included with the lunch. We visited two wineries, and went to many hot spots in the region. Perfect day to get an idea of what to visit and where to go on your one. The weather was not the best, but this is nothing I can blame A la francaise for. Long story short. Great company, great offering. Will recommend you on any occasion. Btw: Is there a chance your Chef can send me the recipe of the meat pie you served Oct 1st? ;-)
This was a wonderfully affordable tour! Martin was an amazing tour guide whose English is perfect! Martin went above and beyond for our group (I was the only single in a group of 3 couples) and we all had an informative blast!
We (my wife, college-aged daughter, and I) spent an incredible 3 days on a private tour of Champagne with A la Française — 2 days doing tours and tastings and one day doing a bike trip in the area. We are foodies and serious wine appreciators and this was our first trip to the area. It is not an exaggeration to describe it as the trip of a lifetime. À la Française put together a bespoke schedule for us with private tours of both large, established vintners, such as Ruinart, and small, family owned establishments. The bike tour was amazing with breathtaking scenery and views. Our guide, Martin Boucher, spoke impeccable English, had a wonderful disposition and sense of humor, a deep knowledge a of and passion for wine, and great pride in his home. We learned so much, drank incredible Champagne, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Our guide, Theo, was absolutely amazing! He is so knowledgeable about not only the region (he is a Reims local) but also about the process of making champagne in general. He is super friendly and shares our values of travel and learning from other people and other cultures. I am a curious person by nature and definitely asked the most questions of our group and Theo was very appreciative of that and said it made him feel like he was doing a good job keeping us engaged. This was perhaps the highlight of our 2.5 week vacation in France and I would highly recommend going with this company and requesting Theo!
Martin was our tour guide for our day trip around champagne, and it was one of the best tours we have done. To start off, we have been doing tours around europe for a bit now and this one really stood out. Martin spoke English flawlessly and took the time to explain the terms of French origin as well so we could grasp all the concepts of Champagne creation. We began with a very small, family owned winemaker whose cellars and equipment gave us the best introduction possible to the process. Martin made sure we knew the day was ours and he would explain everything until we understood, regardless of the time, so that made us feel very comfortable about asking questions for clarification and out of curiosity. We went through the winemaking process, the storing process and the corking process in great detail which gave us a perspective on how much effort and tradition goes into this great occupation. After the first stop we arrived at the burial place of Dom Perignon, which was breathtaking. Martin took us to the perfect photo opportunity and gave us a short tour of the area as well! Next we went to have lunch (an incredible 3 course meal of small pastries, quiche, and other dishes) and paired it with a delicious champagne and rose champagne. Now to the really cool part… Our last stop was a bit of a larger champagne production. Martin took the time again to explain the differences in process behind making Rose champagne and traditional champagne and how that was created in a bit of a larger operation - this was fascinating to see after seeing the smaller operation and having a ground level of how things worked. The real treat was Martin spoke with the winemaker who was very kind and upon us doing the champagne tasting broke out a 1981 vintage bottle of champagne unlike anything we have every had before (pictured below). Truly a once in a lifetime treat that I do not think we would experience without having someone like Martin who clearly has top relations with everyone we came in contact with (I mean everyone said hello to him and had a story about him, pretty incredible). Overall we cannot recommend Martin more. Book this tour if you are looking for an all encompassing day on how champagne is made, how to taste it, and a great amount of fun as he is a very personable guy. Looking forward to our next tour, which we will most definitely book around his schedule.
We've just concluded a private tour of Champagne as well as Burgundy - both were spectacular! Champagne offered a private tour (!) of the Tattinger tunnels, plus tastings at smaller Champagne houses in Ay and Epernay. Martin was a fabulous guide, full of information, helpful in every way, and great English. Martine provided a very thorough tour of Reims. In Burgundy, Johan was great in helping us navigate Beaurne and explaining the details of wine making in Burgundy. Again, his English was great. Cannot recommend enough these private tours. We added cooking classes in both Dijon and Reims so we have some great recipes to take home. Highly recommend!
Great day! It's really the best way to experience the Champagne region (lunch at the Royal Champagne House was a highlight). Our tour guide grew up in Epernay, very professional and funny all the way through and even managed to find a place to buy our favourite champagne. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful time. Susanne, our guide, was amazing. She taught us so much about the history of the region and the art of champagne making. So grateful!
We reserved two vans and drivers from this company to pick up our group of 16 and drive us from our rented chateau south of Epernay to two champagne house tours we had booked separately. The drivers (Suzanne and Perrine) were awesome. They arrived promptly in the morning to pick us up, and were a delight to spend the day with. They made sure we arrived to each tour on time, facilitated the check-in process, and even helped us find a place to each lunch in between. Beyond that, they were a ton of fun and made the trip special. I highly recommend this company -- they were a joy to work with to create our own experience.
We had the best day in Reims and Epernay tasting champagne. Tom could have not have been a better tour guide! Our tours of Moet and Veuve with a delicious lunch in between were perfect. He even suggested we go meet the pickers in the fields for the last fay of harvest. Tom let us take just the right amount of time at each spot in order to squeeze everything in to our big adventure. An amazing day that I would do all over again!
Thank you Tom for a fantastic tour, we loved the Champagne houses we visited and the lunch was the best meal of our trip with lovely local delicacies and spectacular setting. The Carpenter group
Martin was a fantastic guide with a brilliant sense of humour and taught us so much in the two day private tour. The tour was organised so we saw a couple of larger champagne houses, whilst also supporting the smaller houses. The private lunch was exceptionally good and we were so well looked after. We can’t thank Martin enough for really making our experience very special!
Martin is a legend. He is so personable, funny and knowledgeable! He answered every question we had and cracked some great jokes along the way. I’ve had wine tours all over the world but Martin made this the best yet. Couldn’t recommend him enough and he is certainly worth the extra cost to have a private tour. We had a wonderful time exploring and tasting the smaller champagne houses. If you are considering a private tour, go with Martin!
My wife and I booked a private day tour and were delighted with the entire experience. Our guide, Cathy, spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable and personable. We felt like we spent a day with a good friend. We learned a lot about Champagne and how it is made and stored. We visited 2 smaller Champagne producers outside of Epernay, where we met the owners, and one large Champagne house in Epernay. Everything was just perfect. We highly recommend this experience.
6 girlfriends booked this day tour as a surprise for one of us for her birthday The company were happy to pick us up from the village where we were staying and Guillaume was the most fantastic host He was punctual his taxi was immaculate He was very friendly and helpful and very informative He had a step for our friend who had recently had an operation to help her get in and out of the taxi He helped her up and down lots of cellar steps He had umbrellas blankets and water for us to drink The visit to the Vincey house was excellent and we enjoyed lunch and a visit to Haut Villers The visit to Moet was a great experience although we learnt a lot more about champagne production in the morning from Guillaume and house Vincey We also visited a second small house later in the afternoon and it was lovely to chat with Guillaume The day was finished with an excellent visit to Reims Cathedral and Guillaume was again brilliant We would really recommend this company We had an excellent day Thank you
We recently enjoyed a wonderful day touring the Champagne region. Our guide was Martin Boucher and he was fantastic! Martin was so knowledgable about the champagne process, professional, friendly and truly helped make this one of the most memorable days of our family holiday. We visited a recognized Champagne House and two family run boutique wineries. We stopped at Hautvillers and Reims and visited Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Reims. We enjoyed a lovely lunch outside at Le Clos Corbier. We learned so much about the champagne process and the beautiful champagne region. We loved every minute and extend our sincerest thanks to Martin, Lucie, Matthias and of course, Harry, for making this a perfect day!
Thank you so much for the wonderful tour. Our small Californian/ Swedish/ Estonian group enjoyed every moment of that. We all fell in love with Cathy!
Martin, our guide, was a good driver, knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and fun to spend the day with. He made sure we visited the places we were most interested in. He helped us take photos too. His English was excellent. Our lunch was a little pricey but the atmosphere made up for that. We would definitely take another tour with Martin & his company.
We recently were fortunate enough to have a guide Angelique who took us on a 2 day full tour from Epernay and Reims. It was fabulous mostly because of our guide who was professional but warm, friendly, relaxed yet informative and interesting. She took us everywhere we had booked to visit and added so much to our 2 days in the Champagne region. We had fun and laughed a lot mostly about my attempt at French pronunciation. Despite our ever changing weather we really enjoyed the trip and would highly recommend Angelique if you want a guide who is knowledgeable, passionate about her work and fun to be with. Thank you so much for a memorable few days.
Thank you so much for this fantastic tour. We defenitly want to come back and see more of the Champage region. From pick-up to drop-off the day was perfectly organized! Cathy knows everything about Champage and is very patient in explaining every detail. Everyone I talked to when planning the tour was eager to make this experience very special for all of us. Well done! A trip to remember a long time. Highly recommended!
Thank you! We had a daytour in Shampagne. That was an amzing day not only because of the wonderfull landscapes and tasty shampagnes but because of our professional quide, Cathy. A special thank to her! ❤️ We got more than we expected. We got three Shampagne house visits (Philipponnat, Domaine Vincey and Michel Fagot) altogether 10 tastings. At Vincey we even had a chance to taste the first cuvé of 2018. Thank you Marine for this opportunity! We enjoyed french delicacies at Clos Corbier. The whole garden was in our private use during the lunctime. And of course we also visitted in Hautvilliers abbey. I would also like to thank Amy, who organized our dream day! I can highly recommend A la Française!
During the day we visited 4 smaller houses including a great lunch - thank you Matthias! Thanks to our very great guide, Angelique, it never got tiring. Would love to do it again! And probably will when we have run out of champagne. • Champagne Lancelot Royer à 9H30 ( They do not have a web site but they are amazing) • Champagne Vincey - organic certification in progress - will be very interesting to follow. • Lunch at Le Clos COrbier in Mareuil-sur-ay • HEBRART - great champagne maker that are in love with Pinot Noir. Bought a lot from him. • Discover the village of Hautvillers and visit its famous church where Dom Pérignon used to live • Champagne Gobert Regards Ola
Our full-day private tour with Martin was AMAZING. He was a wonderful guide who knew everything about the area and had some amazing connections. We got the royal treatment at all the wineries we visited and had lots of opportunities to interact with the producers one-on-one. He knew all the best places to go and went above and beyond to make sure our day was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend adding on the lunch option. It was the highlight of my entire vacation! Our trip to Champagne wouldn't have been the same without the tour or Martin's excellent guidance. I can't recommend this tour enough!
We had truly the best day touring the Champagne region. From setting up the day to being exactly what we wanted, to helping arrange drivers from CDG, to teaching us so much, to just being wonderful - this was wonderful. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were happy start to finish. Cathy was our private guide for the day - highly recommend!! I hope we can be back!
Our tours were set up by Laetitia.Laclavere from altour.com ., through A la Francaise. Everything was first class and we had the most incredible time. We spent 3 days in Champagne, 3 days in the Loire Valley and 3 days in Bordeaux all booked through A la Francaise. The tour guides were amazing. They were very friendly, extremely knowledgeable about their particular environ and took us to some of the most amazing wineries we have ever been to. There were no wineries in the Loire Valley, but the tours took us through the most beautiful countryside and Chateaus imaginable. I would recommend the bike tour. Our guide was incredible and walked us through the history of the area which was awe inspiring. In Champagne we went to 2 major wineries and then what they called "boutique" wineries - which are not boutique at all. They were fabulous. In Bordeaux, we went o 2 major wineries, and then again "boutique" wineries, which again, were fabulous.. Our guides were incredible, the trip was incredible, the wineries and the tastings were incredible, lunches were incredible. If you tour the wine regions in France you have to use A la Francaise!!!!
It was an absolutely coherent and relaxed day. Everything was of high quality and well organized. The bus, the knowledgeable and very personable travel companion was magnificent. The communication in advance of planning the individual private tour was already great. At Le Clos Corbier everyone was very welcoming and warm. Thank you for the unforgettable birthday tour. The organisation of our private tour was perfect and of very high quality. The tour guide and person at the champagne house were super friendly and meet all our expectations. Thank you!
Beautiful discovery of the region and champagne with our guide Martin and two winemakers. We had a great day! Thank you.
A team available to organize a tailor-made tour, between local history and visit of several cellars, tasting meals included in the idyllic setting of an old castle. Thanks to Jerome for his explanations, both historical and wine.
