The guide was great and the tours were very enjoyable. The time in between the two tours at lunch was too long and felt like a waste of time. The restaurant we went to in between the tours was also nothing special. It would have been better to eat lunch at the second vineyard, as it was a much better setting than the restaurant we went to.

Alvaro was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and made our day so enjoyable. Thank you Alvaro for sharing your passion with us. Veuve Clicquot tour, our delicious lunch and LEMAIRE Champagne house….all excellent
A fun and informative day. Plenty of good food in the menu for lunch. The champagne tasting was informative and the four tasting glasses were plentiful. It was great to visit a family grower and to have a second tasting. This tour will not disappoint.
What an amazing day with an exceptional tour guide. Rademes was knowledgeable, funny and the perfect guide. Lunch was incredible and the final grower, absolutely spectacular. Couldn’t recommend higher.
Its expensive But its much better to be chaffered around by someone that spends the day educating you at the same time The wines and the lunch could have been better but not at the price point, It was Good value for money spent
Possibly the best tour we’ve ever taken! Radames is an exceptional guide with extensive knowledge about the region and champagne. If you are going to take a champagne tour, take this one!
Our guide was an American from Los Angeles. He was outstanding and the best that we’ve had during our 2 week trip to France. He was extremely knowledgeable and kept it all interesting. Also very entertaining. We would want him to be our guide on a future trip
Amazing tour, Radames was an excellent guide. The information about the area, the champagne-making process and the industry was pitched perfectly. One tip: don't spend too much at the larger champagne houses in the morning; Radames will take you to lesser-known but better-quality producers later. The big houses are an excellent tourist experience, but this tour allows you to see how the best product is made.
Alvaro was very kind and knowledgeable. It was great. Two minor negatives: 1) we could have spent a little less time at lunch and at the second winery; and 2) the information provided did not give a clear departure time for those of us taking the train back to Paris.
This tour was wonderful! Reims, the cathedral, Veuve Cliquot and the Champagne region was fascinating. The lunch was outstanding. The best part of all was Radames! You need to request him as your guide. He is knowledgable and made the day enjoyable beyond expectations. He is a must!
We had the most wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour guide and the experience at Veuve Clicquot and the tour.
Our guide Pierre went above and beyond to accommodate us and make the entire experience enjoyable. He was knowledgeable of the subject and all the destinations and local villages. The itinerary was well constructed and I would recommend this experience to anyone.
It was a fun day with lots of champagne tastings at two very different kinds of champagne houses! Lunch was great and the Cathedral visit was magnificent! Pierre was friendly, fun and knowledgeable.
Oh wow!! This day trip was the highlight of my 3 week holiday to Europe! For a number of reasons. Firstly, I got to visit my "spiritual home" - Maison Veuve Clicquot. That tour alone was super special - and so fascinating. I thought that I knew the story of Madame Clicquot - but I didn't know the whole entire story - she was some amazing lady! Well actually even before the tour started I took us to the wrong train station - however it all worked out well and we got to see two out of the three train stations in Reims (the two that we did NOT need to go to lol!). Second highlight! But we were saved when our guide Pierre came and picked us up (from the wrong train station). Third highlight - Pierre our tour guide. We ended being the only 3 people (myself, my adult son and adult niece) on the tour - so that was even more perfect! The trip included a visit to Reims' Notre Dame, lunch at a beautiful restaurant and then we finished the day at a family owned Champagne House. We had the best day. The highlight for all of us - was the banter with Pierre! He is the absolute BEST tour guide in Reims! Also his music choice and singing in the van on the way back to the train station was fantastic! Definitely awesome family memories made that day! A special shout out to Ombretta from France Intense (the tour operator) for firstly fitting my son on to the tour at the last minute - and secondly for "saving" us when we went to the wrong train station.
Wonderful day. Our guide Pierre grew up in the region. He was knowledgeable about the area and history. Tour of veuve clicquot was amazing. Tour of Notre dame Reims and lung in Épernay were great! Train from Paris is easy.
We had booked a guided tour of a couple of champagne houses in the Reims area and were informed that we would meet at the train station and join a car with six other people and an English-speaking guide. When we arrived, we found out that we were the only ones on the tour, which we thought was absolutely perfect. We started by meeting our guide, Radames Pera, an exceptionally friendly American who has been living in France for over eight years. He shared stories about the origins of Champagne and clearly knew what he was talking about. After a wonderful tour at Veuve Clicquot, we drove to a small village called Hautvillers, where we had a thorough and lovely tour among the village’s many producers. We then went to a small local restaurant called Restaurant Le Bateau Lavoir, where we had lunch and got to taste the owner's own Champagne, which was very good. Afterwards, we drove to Épernay, where we enjoyed another great tour among even more producers, before heading to the producer Michel Fagot. Here, our own tour guide gave us a guided tour once again, clearly showing his knowledge and passion. When the tour ended, we tasted several different varieties of Champagne they produce — all of which were excellent. After we finished, he drove us right to the door of our hotel, saving us from having to carry all the bottles we had bought during the day. We had an absolutely amazing day and learned so much about the region and the history of Champagne. I would definitely recommend using this tour company, and of course, I highly recommend Radames Pera, who undoubtedly made the entire experience even better for us. Thank you so much — we’ll be back! 😊
After taking another Viator tour that we didn’t like, we were hesitant to start this one. But we were more than pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed this tour. We took the train from Paris to Reims to begin the tour and were picked up at the station by Pierre. We were joined by another family for our group of seven in a minivan. Eight would’ve been very tight, but seven worked great. Pierre is a native of Reims and gave us lots of history and local color all presented with a decidedly French sense of humor. We had a great tour of Veuve Cliquot, followed by lunch at a out-of-the-way French bistro, and a lovely visit to a small, family-owned champagne house. We met the family and had a great personal tour and tasting. Pierre topped off our visit by ending our day with a stop on a hilltop overlooking the villages of the area. It was beautiful! We returned to the train station and, after finding our train was running late, spent a few hours in the village of Reims, which we absolutely loved. I highly recommend ending your day with this stop. All in all, a 10 out of 10 day.
Pierre was a great guide and really fun to be with. He taught us a lot throughout the day and seeing Veuve Clicquot was amazing and then we had a nice tour of Reims cathedral and a beautiful drive through the countryside with a delicious lunch. Ended the day with a small champagne house which we all loved too. Definitely recommend!!
I can’t say enough great things about this tour but it was fantastic!! Everything I had hoped it to be and more! Our guide was amazing…….Raddama (not sure if I spelled it correct) but he has so much passion and and knowledge. He was incredible. Absolutely love the entire experience!!
Thoroughly enjoyed having a private tour for our group of seven. Pierre our guide spoke excellent English and kept everyone entertained. Unfortunately did not get to see the cathedral as the train back to Paris we needed to be on left at 4:15. Other options are available, but you need to put some time into planning the train rides.
Had a great day awesome presentation by the team at both venues. Saw both sides of the market and how they worked. The cellars at Vueve were amazing.
I’m physically ill over how much I spent on this tour for what it was. Sure, pick up was great, Veuve was amazing, and a quick tour of Reims cathedral was great too. But the second half of the day is where it goes downhill. We spent more time driving to a quaint cafe and sitting there for what seemed like forever and given a choice of skate wing or castrated rooster, an appetizer or dessert and a small glass of champagne. Then we spent more time in the car and when we finally made it to the next champagne house - your driver gives you a quick tour and then you get 2 small glasses. I’d recommend saving your money and booking directly with the champagne houses. Felt like we wasted so much time driving and sitting around for lunch.
It’s a lovely day-long tour with lunch, plenty of amazing information, background and history. Outstanding tour guide. A very memorable experience not to be missed if you love champagne and it’s fascinating history!
Simply Fabulous! I wanted to go to Veuve and didn't think the afternoon would be as special, but it was superb. Lunch in Epernay was one of the best meals of our entire trip. Our driver was amazing!!
We had a wonderful day with our guide! He shared a lot of interesting facts about not only the wineries but the city of Reims. Very welcoming atmosphere everywhere we went.
It was a great tour, guide was knowledgeable. Beautiful country side a must do when in Reims. Small group which was perfect.
Our day was fantastic! Easy to find our driver who was much more a well- traveled and knowledgeable guide. We had the very. Est experience with h, the lunch and wineries!
Tours such as these are made or fail based on the tour Guide. Most certainly the venues, no doubt, are paramount but without a knowledgeable guide you are only half way there. Radames was our Expert Guide with France Intense for an amazing Champagne Tour of Veuve Clicquot and Michel Fagot. Radames’ long tenure in the region, expertise and affability were key to an extremely enjoyable tour. Rads intimate understanding is buttressed by the simple fact he lives right in the middle of the Champagne Region. The lunch was clearly classic French “home cooking” and enjoyed by all. Suffice it to say…book this tour, have Radames as your guide, sit back and enjoy. And remember! Save the water… Drink the Champagne! Debra & James NorCal USA
Excellent tour, yeah, guide was extremely knowledgeable, and we throughly enjoyed every minute of the trip. Loved learning about champagne and the tastings and behind the scenes tour. Would definitely rebook!!!
The view over the vineyards was exceptional. We were traveling by train and it was great to see the backrooms I by car.
The tours of the caves at Veuve Cliquot were very interesting. Lunch was excellent in Epernay. Ending at a lovely small vineyard was perfect.
My mom and I had the best day! Highly recommend Pierre from France Intense as a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable about the history, champagne, and the region
This was our third day and Raphael was able to accommodate what we wanted vs repeating what we had already done.
Seeing how champagne was made especially being underground. It was fascinating. The tasting was great especially being able to taste a variety of champagnes
We liked most of the tour but the second half could have been better The region was beautiful and it was very very warm
This tour was fantastic! Our guide was so informative and the whole day was a lot of fun. We enjoyed learning about the history of the region as well as getting to taste so many different types of champagne.
We really enjoyed a full day with Pierre at Veuve Clicqout and our trip to the Cathedral and drive through the beautiful countryside to Epernay for lunch at a lovely restaurant. Our last stop was a visit to a small champagne producer. Our guide Pierre has passion for the region and knowledge to share. A lovely day and plenty of champagne.
Pierre possessed excellent language skills & demonstrated a detailed knowledge of all aspects T's of our wonderful day in Champagne. Highly recommended for any visitors to this beautiful region of France. Ric Dance
Visit to grower champagne house where we met both father…previous winemaker…and son…current winemaker…was fantastic! Pierre was fun and funny guide!
Pierre was fantastic! Funny and personable. He knows a lot about the region as he’s local. We went to Veuve, Norte Dame, had lunch (which was so good) and ended at a small champagne house. If you’re coming from Paris, I suggest taking the train early to ensure you get to the tour on time.
Our tour guide was fantastic. We had a great time. We shared her passionate love for champagne. Very knowledgeable
This was an amazing experience. Pierre was an exceptional host and guide. He’s knowledgeable and personable and our group had an amazing time touring the fabulous countryside Champagne. Can not wait to come back!
This was absolutely horrible. I waited for over 30 minutes and no tour guys showed up so therefore I was unable to experience. What made the situation even more frustrating was that I booked train tickets and paid about $200 to get here for nothing. Would definitely not recommend. I even reached out to Viator for a full refund and they are threatening to through this to collections
The Michele Fagot winery was awesome to visit a small house. Food was good by American standards which has been difficult in France.
Our guide was great. Informative & entertaining. Verve Clicquot was a must. The tour & tasting were captivating. In cooler weather bring a jumper/jacket as underground cellars can be cold! The restaurant where we had lunch was delicious & picturesque. Definitely a Paris highlight. I’d recommend booking train to Reims in advance, if that’s how you’re getting there!
Being a huge fan of Veuve Clicquot Champagne made this tour a must do when we were in Paris. We loved the opportunity to experience both the major champagne house as well as a family champagne house. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and chance to see both the town of Reims and surrounding villages of the region. Highly recommend this experience.
Veuve Clicquot Champagne has my heart so this tour did not disappoint. We enjoyed the major champagne house and the remainder of the tour that included a lovely lunch, views of the surrounding villages and information about the family champagne producers and a chance to visit and experience one of them. It was a great day and a beautiful region.
Pierre was a great driver and guide for the day. He was friendly, engaging, informative, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He was open to answering any and all questions about champagne or the city of Reims. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Veuve Cliquot champagne house, but my wife and I were especially pleased with the experience at the small, family owned house and cellar we visited. It was honestly some of the best champagne we have had, and we were surprised to find out how inexpensive it was. We highly recommend the tour for anyone staying in the area or coming to the Champagne region!
Great itinerary! Great lunch location! Great guide Pierre!! Totally enjoyable day with a small group. Veuve Cliquot was amazing. No wonder I love their champagnes!! The small winery was delightful. We met the charming winemaker and drank - and bought - some surprisingly delicious bubbles. Guide Pierre was outstanding! His knowledge of Reims and the champagne houses really educated and entertained us. Well done, Pierre! And thx to Trip Advisor for providing such a memorable experience!
What an amazing day. If you are lucky enough to have Pierre, rest assured your trip will be perfectly curated. It was clear everyone at our vineyards and wineries also loved Pierre! We were treated well and enjoyed many little surprises too! Pierre's knowledge of the region made the day even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the trip!
