Exclusive Champagne Cellars & Dom Perignon Vineyards Tour - Reims

This experience was by far the highlight of our 5 day visit in Paris. Luiz was Exceptional! The visits were personal, informative, and not at all the usual 'touristy traps'.

Fantastic experience, highly curated and unique. Would not hesitate to book this tour again any time.

Luis was fantastic with the group. He was so happy and passionate to share his knowledge about champagne growing and the whole region. We got to visit and do tastings at small maisons du champagne which was cool to keep it local and see the small batch production. The place we had lunch was great, it was arranged for us and we each paid our own tab, super easy. I’m filling this out at the Moet & Chandon in Epernay where Luis left us to enjoy on our own. Highly recommend taking a tour with this company!

Guide turned up late. We drove down Champaign Ave & only asked if we wanted to be dropped off there or at station while guide was driving around roundabout to station. Felt rushed & had bought wine at wineries with nowhere to leave them if we wanted to look at Champagne Ave. This overpriced tour didn't even include train tickets back to Reims.

Caroline was an excellent host! We got to taste some of the most unique Champagne's and drive through the countryside of vineyards. Thank you so much for an incredible experience! We can't wait to return!

Louis what’s a great tour with a lot of historical information. The wineries were very intimate and unique. We had a bit of confusion within our family as to where our final destination was to end.

The tour is severely overpriced. Two wineries, a ride, and a guide forr $499 for two people. That's too much. Lunch should have been provided as well as a ride back to Reims.

Luiz took us on an exceptional day out, exploring traditional small champagne wineries, checking out local landmarks and enjoying a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. We tried 6 different champagnes and all the experts we spoke to (including Luiz) helped us understand the process and differences between types of champagne. It was good fun sharing the tour bus with other friendly people and it was the best day of our trip to France. I would highly recommend one of Luiz’s tours.

This wonderful full day tour of Champagne is highly recommended. Two high quality independent winery visits are included with driving and full guide services by Louis. Each winery visit includes a guided tour of the facility with explanations of the champagne making process and updates on the current activities. Louis also provided lots of information when driving us around with a stop or two for some panoramic photo opportunities. Thank you Louis.

He has an extensive background in this industry and will happily answer any and all questions you may have from the production of the grapes to the finished product ready to drink. Additionally Luiz is a local who will provide your group with history of the areas you visit and will drive through the most scenic vineyard areas you can imagine! Don’t miss this tour! A fantastic and wholesome tour, delivered by Louis and his wife Caroline, that I couldn’t recommend enough! It is easy to get carried away with the glitz and glamour of the big houses of Champagne, but Louis intermit knowledge of the region and his background as a sommelier, personally picks some hidden gems that you wouldn’t necessary find yourself. Some of these producers, sell grapes to the most prestigious names, so the quality is outstanding. Because Louis lives in the region, the tour feels like a journey, guiding you through the history of champagne, and the infamous influence by Dom Perignon. With some great stops between producers, including a fantastic bistro at lunch and a little surprise at the end of the tour. Louis is happy to give you recommendations for the rest of your time in the region from places to eat or champagne bars. I will never look at champagne the same way again after this tour and feel I can make a more of an informed choice when buying champagne. The whole package to get off the beaten track experience the true culture of champagne.

We had an amazing time on this tour with Luiz! Our group was small, it felt more like visiting a friend in Champagne than a formal tour which we really loved. Our tastings were in private and with very knowledgable, friendly people/owners of the wineries. All the champagne was exceptional, of course, and Luiz added so much interesting information about not only the wine, but also the history of the region and its people!

Luis was our guide. We were the first tour of the season so ended up getting a private experience. He was a very good guide, communicated in advance, answered all questions and was friendly. We went to one small, local family owned champagne house and a larger one. Seeing the difference between the two was wonderful experience. Only thing to note is if book this tour it wasn't 100% clear the the tour picks you up in Reims but ends in Epernay. Luckily trains at cheap and every hour between the cities, but that did come as a bit of a surprise when we found this out halfway through the tour.

We had a wonderful day with Luiz. The tour was a great mix of education, sites, food and champagne! There were 7 of us and we all agree this is one of the best Viator tours we have ever taken.

The tour was absolutely wonderful! We visited so many different kinds of wineries — from local hidden gems to famous ones — and each had its own charm. Our guide was fantastic! This was my favorite wine tour of all. Our guide , LUIZ, was fantastic. He is very knowledgeable about the area, its history, and the wine/champagne of the region. We had a great tour of a champagne cellar, and got to try lots of different champagnes. And Luiz surprised everyone in the tour with a glass of champagne as we stood at the top of a hillside overlooking some vineyards. Because of their connections with champagne houses, and other people in the area, we were able to go to places that weren’t over touristy. We also got to see the countryside and a couple of small villages. And we had an enjoyable lunch at a restaurant in Champaign that Luiz brought us to. Can’t recommend this enough!

Our group of 4 had a wonderful day with Caroline! She took us all over the Champagne region, introduced us to an excellent grower/winemaker, and toured us through several interesting, historical sites, including a cellar that few tour companies have permission to access. Our lunch, booked on Caroline’s recommendation, was the best meal of our trip so far. I highly recommend this tour and absolutely would book with the company again.

We booked last minute due to issues with a booking through another service, and thankfully Luiz was able to accommodate us. Due to the time of year (early January), it was only one other couple on the tour. This did make the day feel much more personalized, but I am sure Luiz works to make every tour personal. We had a wonderful day, and Luiz has an incredible knowledge of the history of the area, the history of France, and the history of Champagne. Luiz picked a great place for lunch for us, and two wonderful vineyards. We will not hesitate to book again with Luiz.

Luiz was a very welcoming and friendly host and guide. His knowledge of Epenay and the Champagne region, with its history, and wine, was extensive and he conveyed this information in a very relaxed manner. He was very flexible with the tour and provided some extra interesting and delightful experiences.

Loved this tour, the only downside and you should check before booking is you have to make your own way back from Épernay. The tour guide was great, lunch is not free so that's not included. We toured champagne houses that we had never heard of but that did not matter as the champagnes we tasted were delicious. If you want to visit the famous houses, this is not the tour for you. We were picked up from Riems Cathedral and had a look around it before we departed. We got to walk Champagne Avenue, where all the famous Champagne houses are, and visited the church were Dom Perignon lived and is buried.

A great way to explore, taste and learn more about Champagne. Saw vineyards you can’t see everyday, tasted champagne we had never had before. Really learnt a lot about the history of champagne, wine making processes and got to see the beautiful area.

We had such a perfect day traveling around champagne with Luiz. He made it very easy to connect for the pick up and showed us a great mix of champagne, history, good food, and views of the region. I absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who loves wine!

Very enjoyable day and tour. Luiz was very knowledgeable (I would say expert) on the region and its wines. He was both passionate and conversational, answering all questions fully. The lunch was not included in the tour (as was stated upfront) but was excellent. Also, the return train ticket was not included (as was stated upfront) but it was an easy trip and the wait was minimal. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and the frequent and generous pours of champagne. I would definitely recommend!

This tour was exceptional, with a great, knowledgeable guide. Our party got picked up by Luiz in a van at the Reims train station. We went on a Monday (which I think is a less good choice for a day because many places are closed on Mondays). We went to the cathedral Reims first, then a more well known/ bigger winery for the first tasting and tour through their cellars, then a drive to Épernay; where we had lunch with the party and Luiz, and it was delicious. Then before we had another winery visit, a little walk down Avenue de Champagne in Épernay, a very private winery tour at a family owned winery for a delicious tasting, seeing Dom Perifnon’s grave, and then a little more champagne to drink at a park after that. We then took the train from Épernay back to Paris. Very lovely day trip from Paris and great selection of wineries and activities. I bought wine at both of wineries we went to, and my friend said while she usually gets a champagne headache, that didn’t happen here. It was clear the whole city (in each place) knew and respected Luiz and for good reason. Highly recommend any of his tours!!

Luiz was informative, friendly and really knowledgeable. He is obviously well known at the wineries we visited. He’s also a good driver:). He made the whole experience so much more than a wine tasting. I never felt pressured to but anything either. If I’m ever in Paris again I will definitely sign up for the champagne tour.

My wife and I live in London and we've taken my parents to Paris the last two years when they come to visit. We've now done both the Burgundy and Champagne tours with Luiz and these are without a doubt, the best tours we've been on anywhere. Luiz is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable guide, who is happy to answer any/all of your questions. He does a great job making sure you get the most for your money and you really do. The small group is a perfect number of people and makes it a more personal experience. We just returned from our Reims champagne tour and it was a really great day. Our guide Luiz is an energetic, hard-working, solo tour operator. He is a certified sommelier, and was so friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. The tour starts at Place d'Italie, well outside of the normal tourist attractions but easy metro access and close to the highway to Reims. He has a very nice, new and comfortable mini van. The tour departs at 7:50 so a bit of an early morning, but worth it. We were 7 in our tour--perfect size. The ride to Reims is about 1.5 hours. Once there we stopped to pick up croissants which we ate by Reims cathedral. Reims and surrounding towns we visited were all beautiful, quaint and much less crowded than Paris. Our first stop was Lanson, a large champagne maker, where we joined a group tour of their operations, including the caves, which were fascinating, before heading inside for tasting. We then drove to the small village of Ay, where we ate an outstanding outdoor lunch under the trees at Rotisserie Henri IV. Luiz joined us for lunch where we shared champagne and had a nice visit. Stunning g setting with very good food. Salmon risotto and beef tartare were hits. Lunch at your cost but well worth it. We then went to a hilltop park near the monastery where Dom Perignon lived for another champagne tasting. Our last stop was Loirot, a four generation winery, where one of the family guided our tour and tasting. Quite good to compare the large versus smaller family style of operations. We were given three champagnes to taste , which rounded out a quite generous day of tasting. We were delivered back to our original pickup location by around 6 PM. The high and professional level of personal attention on this tour versus, for example, the small group tour we took to Versailles was huge. Thanks to Luiz for a really great day!!

If you're looking for a day trip to Champagne from Paris, look no further. We knew we wanted a special wine experience as part of our honeymoon in Paris, and Luiz more than delivered! He created the perfect itinerary that allowed us to experience the full breath of the Champagne region. Luiz was friendly, personable, and extremely knowledgable. He went out of his way to ensure we had a perfect and care-free day. The only thing we had to worry about was how much Champagne we could fit in our suitcase. We loved starting the day with pastries at a small family-run champagne house, tasting a mid-sized producer across from the abbey where Dom Perignon created some of the region's first wine, experiencing the historic caves one of Champagne's most famous producers, and ending the day at the holiday market and beautiful Reims cathedral. We especially appreciated that Luiz was accommodating in choosing a lunch spot that met our dietary restrictions. It was a memorable and wonderful experience we would highly recommend!
