Great time! Even down to reporting a lost bag. That never happens. Front desk, housekeeping restaurants and spa all great. 9 nights there. A little inconsistent on room cleanings, but fixed upon a call. Do the Norte dame cathedral upper level tour. - 9 euros. Amazing.

The location and service were great at La Caserne Chanzy Hotel and Spa. We arrived during their 100 year celebration and it was so much fun. What an unexpected perk, with live music, champagne, and fun had by all. It was really fun to watch everyone enjoying the hotels success.
We stayed here for 3 nights and our first night we got upgraded to the 4 th floor with balconies looking right at the cathedral! Great view! Room 416. The other 2 nights we still had a nice room with a patio on the 1 st floor in the annex area. Although it did not have a view we liked having the patio. Room 123. It is also right at the elevator to the spa and pool which I liked so I did not have to walk through the hotel to get to the pool! The rooms are very quieting you did not get a room with the view of the cathedral you can go to the 5 th floor and there is a small public balcony !
Hotel is beautiful, conveniently located and the staff is absolutely lovely and very attentive. From reception to the spa and housekeeping...Merci! Breakfast service could use a bit of improvement...opens at 6:30 but hot items were not out until after 7am. The rooftop 'apartment' room can get very warm upstairs. Thankfully, the staff brought us a fan which made a world of difference. Highly recommend.
La Caserne Chanzy has many of the ingredients of a memorable hotel: a striking central location opposite Reims Cathedral, an impressive building, and a distinctive design concept rooted in Champagne. On paper, it is exactly the sort of property one would expect to work well as part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection and as a hotel included in the MICHELIN Guide hotel selection. Unfortunately, our stay fell well short of the standard implied by both. The most disappointing aspect was breakfast. Service for cooked items was extremely slow, with dishes taking over 20 minutes even when we were first in the queue. Some dishes were also poorly prepared: fried eggs were burnt, the Eggs Benedict was badly executed, and the wider hot food offering was underwhelming. We were also concerned by the freshness and presentation of certain cold items, including salmon and meats, and by the apparent lack of proper quality control. Other items, such as sausages and potatoes, were greasy, soggy or unappealing. Overall, breakfast was one of the weakest we have experienced in France over the last decade. Dinner was much better from a culinary perspective. The food itself was of a very high standard, and the kitchen team clearly has real talent. However, the service again failed to match the quality of the food. Our wine order was not taken by the sommelier, and after a long wait, we had to order through another member of staff. Later, the petit fours were missed entirely. These are not minor details at this level of hotel and restaurant. We also had a persistent noise issue in our room, apparently from the ventilation system, which made the room uncomfortable. The matter had to be raised more than once before it was addressed. When offered a room change, we were also surprised by the difference between rooms in the same category, as the size and fixtures appeared noticeably inconsistent. Overall, the hotel has the foundations of something excellent: the building, location and design are all strong, and dinner showed real culinary potential. However, the actual guest experience was undermined by poor breakfast standards, inconsistent service, weak follow-through and room comfort issues. For a five-star Autograph Collection property listed in the MICHELIN Guide hotel selection, the basics need to be executed much more reliably. On this occasion, we left disappointed and would be unlikely to return.
