Hotel Astoria Rapallo

Great location—right in the center, near the waterfront, restaurants, and the pier where boats depart for Portofino and other beautiful destinations. The room was recently renovated, with a comfortable bed and pillows. Delicious breakfasts with everything you need. Very friendly and cheerful staff. I’d especially like to mention Elina at the front desk, who successfully helped us resolve any issues that came up during our stay.

I mistakenly booked this hotel instead of accommodation in a completely different area of Italy. I realized my mistake almost immediately and contacted the hotel well before the check-in date to explain the situation and politely ask if they could make a one-time exception to their non-refundable policy. Although I understood the booking conditions, I was disappointed by the complete lack of flexibility or goodwill. The room cost €250 for one night, and since my cancellation request was made well in advance, I believe the hotel had a reasonable opportunity to rent the room to another guest. Policies are important, but so is customer service. A little understanding and discretion would have left me with a much better impression. Unfortunately, this experience showed me that customer care was less important than strictly enforcing the booking terms.

The staff were polite and attentive. The breakfast was also good. The rooms were clean and spacious.

Astoria made sure we had the best possible weekend getaway! The staff were more than friendly, our room was pristine and recently renovated and the sea view was gorgeous. The breakfast was generous and delicious as well! The hotel is very central and has access to different restaurants and cafes within a few hundred meters in every direction. The night life is vibrant and it is entirely safe to wander around until late. I would highly recommend a hike to Portofino from here!
