I contacted Mohamed from United States before I visited Morocco to set up a custom food tour for my wife and I. He communicated effortlessly and even helped in planning things that didn’t include his company. The tour itself was outstanding for us! He is fluent in English (which is rare in Morocco since their primary languages are Arabic and French). Not only did we visit the famous landmarks in Rabat, but we ended up at his mother’s house for a big, home-cooked dinner. Highly recommend his company for food tours and other guided travel adventures!

Our guide Mohamed was amazing! We not only learned about the local cuisine but also the culture, the city and its history. Each morsel had a story and a connection to the people. We sampled so many things from street bites and sweets to an incredible feast of tangine and couscous. Our final stop was tea and sweets by the River. We also had the opportunity to visit during Ramadan and learn about customs and practices that are observed - our guide broke his daily fast with us over dinner.
7 of us had the best time with Mohamed on Monday. I think the street food in Rabat has to be the best in Morocco and sampling it all with Mohamed is such a delightful way to spend the day. He shared with us so many different delights as well as splashes of history and culture along the way. We all just loved it. He even gave us a box of delicious Moroccan cookies for our train ride to Fez. Don’t think twice- just book it!
Wonderful walking tour with Mohamed B - through the streets of Rabat, the Medina, the Kasbah, the mausoleum, the parks - we covered a lot of ground, a lot of history and sites! excellent tour, with a charming, friendly and smart guide who is proud of his country and its history. thank you!
Moahmmed guided us through the streets of the Medina, providing us with a unique experience, immersing us in the flavors, scents, and history of this wonderful land. After tasting various typical specialties, we had lunch with a selection of typical Moroccan dishes. This experience cannot even be defined as touristy; rather, it is an immersion into the culture and daily life of the Medina.
Great local guide who welcomed us into his family home. As another foodie, he was knowledgeable about the local markets, vendors, and food preparations. Excellent chicken tangine with vegetables, beets, and many other accompaniments.
We had a delightful time with Imane! She met us promptly at the tram station and we started out immediately to explore the food market in her neighborhood. The places she had selected for us were wonderful--donuts, soup, dates stuffed with walnuts, and of course those fantastic Moroccan olives. It was the perfect amount of strolling at a leisurely pace--We even had time to make a quick visit to the seashore for sunset. Next we reached her mother-in-law's riad where the dinner began. It's a lovely place and ever so comfy. We could not believe the amount of food that had been prepared and served to us. Bread, olives, side dishes like carrots, beets, eggplant, potates, and that doesn't ever count the main courses. The chicken, olive, and lemon tajine was some of the best we've had in Morocco. Loved the spicy meatballs, and being fairly close to the coast, there were fried sardines. And the company was as charming as promised. Of course her MIL was there, the two of us, Imane, and her husband joined us. It was such a fun filled evening, just as the description had promised. You really do feel like you are part of the family. We had been a little leery when we first read about eating dinner at a stranger's house, but we are SO glad we did. We cannot recommend this experience highly enough.
Great tour. Imane, my guide, was knowledgeable, genuinely enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge of the foods and customs. I really enjoyed my day.
This was hands down the best tour we have taken in Morocco. Highly recommend. Mohammad was very informative and is fluent in English as well French and Arabic. We really enjoyed seeing and taste testing the food around the market. It was a wonderful experience to share an absolutely delicious home made meal with his family. They were all very warm and welcoming. Our guide, Mohammad really enjoys what he does and it shine through. I would give this Rabat Food tour a complete 10/10..
Great experience, walking through the market and sampling different foods and mingling with local merchants. The food served at the home was fabulous and the family was so kind and conversational.
Simply amazing! If you want an authentic experience, not to mention avoid getting lost in the medinas… book this tour. The food, the people, the guide and of course our dinner then dessert by the river were first rate. This tour would have been a bargain at twice the price! So glad we did it. Thank you for the terrific time!! 😊
Excellent tour. Mohammed was extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our experience perfect. Also new lots of history of Morocco.
This foodie tour exceeded my expectations and our guide Mohammed went beyond the call of duty. We tried so many amazing dishes and Mohammed was always conscientious to ask us if we had any food restrictions or preferences. We not only learned a lot more about Moroccan food, which I am already familiar with, but we learned about the city, the culture and the people. We spent a good five hours having so much fun with a very cool guide. I can highly recommend a tour with the Moroccan Food Tour. You won’t be disappointed!
Spent our first afternoon in Morocco with Mohammed - went around the local market trying w writhing from super fresh fried sardines to yogurt and olives. The highlight of the tour was a meal cooked by Mohamed’s mother, a professional chef. It was our first and probably best Moroccan meal of a 10 day tour. Super flavorful, full of aromatic spices ( but not hot spicy). If you are ever in Rabat this is a very worthwhile tour
This super easygoing, informative and delicious adventure with Mohamed started in his own neighborhood in Rabat, we tried different dishes on the way to his home, where his mother was preparing and incredible selection of dishes. I am vegetarian, my friend isn’t, and still they made sure I everyone was taken care of properly. Delicious food and amazing atmosphere at Mohamed l’s home, learning about his story, family traditions, etc. He even stayed in touch a few days later and gave us food recommendations for our onward journey in Morocco. 10 out of 10.
We recently moved to Rabat from Canada and wanted to tour the medina and try some of the amazing food that it has to offer. Little did we know that this isn't just a food tour, it is a food and cultural tour! What a fantastic way to spend four hours! It was like taking a leisurely walk through the medina, chit-chatting, and snacking with an old friend. Mohamed was a fantastic host and we can't wait to take other tours with him!
Thank you for the excellent tour! Mohamed was outstanding! Very knowledgeable, friendly, kind and generous. The food was amazing. I highly recommend.
Mohamed is a gem. My friend and I had a great day out with Mohamed learning about local and Moroccan food and culture. This food tour is also a city tour as you explore the new city, the medina, and the casbah. We sampled a wide variety of foods over several hours, met local vendors, and along the way were treated to stories, history and were also given tips for further exploration of the city and Morocco in general. Definitely recommend this tour for food lovers, and curious folks as Mohamed is happy to chat and answer Qs along the way.
We booked two back-to-back experiences in Rabat -- the food tour, combined with a city tour. The result was fabulous. Our host, Benmokhtar Mohamed, could not have been better. Through the whole day, he was energetic, smiling, attentive, eager-to-please, informative -- just the best that a host can be to a group of strangers. The multi-course home meal prepared for us -- with the chefs showing us how it was done over several hours -- was one of the best I have ever had. I especially enjoyed the food shopping (and sampling) expedition led by Mohamed.
Our guide Ibrahim is very nice, told a lot and is very smart. He took us through the medina and showed us different Moroccan dishes. He was also very interested in us, which created very nice conversations. I would definitely do another tour with Moroccan Food Tour, because we really enjoyed it, saw a lot and laughed! Overall it was fantastic!
