What a fun evening, and the best food. Absolutely worth the money. Samira is an excellent chef, by far the best tagine we’ve had, and Anouar was an excellent and charming host. If you’re in Rabat do this, you won’t regret it. Can’t recommend it enough. Our best evening in Morocco.

Then, we'll make Moroccan tea together the traditional way, from brewing to pouring, and enjoy it Next, using a +120 years old family grinder, you'll make fresh Amlou (Amazigh peanut butter). You'll also enjoy your freshly baked bread with the Amlou you made, Mint Tea, plus golden honey, butter, olives, and local olive oil, a true Amazigh Breakfast. Anoura is a lovely friendly welcoming and easy host to spend time with. We learned to cook so many delicious things and thoroughly enjoyed the evening
Anouar and his family were amazing hosts! We were welcomed warmly into their home and received amazing hospitality. We started by preparing ingredients for rfissa. While that cooked, we had amazing mint tea, made amlou using a traditional grinding stone which we used in subsequent dishes, and enjoyed typical breakfast foods. We took a break from eating to put on traditional amazigh wedding outfits which were beautiful (especially the women's outfits) and learn about Amazigh culture. Finally, the rfissa was ready and it was a delicious final dish. The whole experience was fantastic, start to finish. Definitely recommended and come hungry!
We had a wonderful time learning about Amazigh culture and cooking rfissa. We also got to make , drink tea and try some local honey. We particularly enjoyed trying on traditional wedding clothing - the jewelery was so beautiful. It had rained too much, so we couldn’t make bread, but the cous cous with amlou was delicious and a great substitute. We’d absolutely recommend this experience for anyone who wants to have a more meaningful experience in Rabat.
It was very enjoyable and entertaining . Food was delicious. The host was very pleasant. I would highly recommend it.
This was so much more than a cooking class! From learning to prepare traditional Moroccan Rfissa to discovering the rich culture, history, and local traditions, every moment was absolutely wonderful. The hospitality was truly exceptional. We arrived as strangers but were welcomed like family, not just friends! The conversations, laughter, and genuine warmth made this one of our favorite experiences in Morocco. And the mint tea? Some of the best we’ve had since arriving in the country! We even had the opportunity to dress in traditional Moroccan clothing, making the experience that much more memorable. We cannot recommend this enough to anyone, young or old! Whether you love cooking or simply want an authentic cultural experience, this is a must-do in Rabat. We came to learn how to cook, but left with full hearts, full stomachs, and memories we’ll cherish forever!
When we booked this excursion it looked like a fun couple of hours. I was right but oh so wrong. It was a fun-filled afternoon loaded with great food, tremendous amounts of learning, and pleasant conversation. Learning how the native peoples prepared food like bread and peanut butter was fascinating. Actually, preparing it was simple and exciting. This is an event not to be missed if you’re in Rabat Morocco.
Cannot say enough wonderful things about this entire experience!! Anour and his mother welcome you and go beyond your expectations of a cooking class. Anour speaks wonderful English so translated for his mother while she guided us through the process of making the most delicious meal that included extra treats all prepared in the traditional way. Their rooftop kitchen was decorated and immaculately clean. Anour shared much information about his Amazigh traditions as well as about contemporary life in Rabat. It is an experience you will always remember! So thankful we did it!!
This was the highlight of our moroccan trip! We were picked up by Anouar and were able to make our own bread, Tajine and peanut butter dip. His mother and aunt helped us cook and dressed us up in traditional Amazigh clothes. They were all so welcoming, wanted to tell us all about their traditions and were so kind. I would recommend this experience for everyone visiting Rabat.
Lovely rooftop cooking experience getting hands on with tagine, bread in a clay oven, peanut butter grinding with a stone and tea making. All lovely people and a great way to spend an evening. Would recommend 10/10
Such a fun and varied experience. We made bread, peanut butter, mint tea and, of course, a tagine. Everyone was very friendly and happy to accommodate me being vegetarian. The tagine was one of the best I've ever had in Morocco. Would highly recommend
Very nice guide with his aunt and mother who prepared everything and explained how to make moroccan tea, peanut butter, bread and tagine. The food was delicious!!
Awesome experience with Anouar and his mother. A very charming and interesting guy, we learned a lot about Morocco and prepared & tasted some incredible food. The space is very cosy, authentic and clean. Would highly recommend this for anyone. Anouar was really great with the kids too. Thanks again!
It was a really great experience. We got to cook a lot of food and also enjoyed eating it. We learned it the traditional Amazirh way. As a bonus we also got to dress in the family wedding dresses.
Very nice experience and like
This was such a fantastic experience for us. We were a party of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) and everyone loved it! Anouar and his family were so kind and welcoming and we felt so comfortable. Everything was very clean and allergies were taken in to account, as well as fussy eaters. The food was delicious and we all learned so much. It was a fabulous hands on class for all (even the 7 year olds) and everyone enjoyed learning about traditional Moroccan cooking and customs and we even got to try on beautiful, traditional Moroccan dress which the kids loved! This was the highlight of our trip to Rabat.
Excellent service and details about the Moroccan traditions. Highly recommended
This is definitely a must do! We had such a great afternoon learning the Amazigh way with Anouar and his mum. They were beautiful hosts and showed us how to prepare and enjoy delicious local food. Thanks for making the day one to remember! Be sure to experience this for yourself in Rabat.
We had a wonderful afternoon! Anouar’s superpower is making you feel comfortable in his home and keeping the conversation so enjoyable. 3 hours flew by and the food was outstanding (probably from my expert seasoning). Can’t recommend this experience more highly.
A wonderful, authentic Moroccan experience – highly recommend! We absolutely loved our cooking class with Anouar and his lovely mum. It was such an enjoyable and memorable experience, and a real highlight of our time in Morocco. Their hospitality was so warm and genuine, and we loved learning about Moroccan food, traditions and culture through our conversations throughout the experience. Anouar was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and engaging. He is such a smart, switched-on young man with a real passion for what he does, and it was a pleasure getting to know him. The whole experience felt personal, relaxed and authentic, and we came away with a much greater appreciation for Moroccan culture, as well as some wonderful memories. A huge thank you to Anouar and his mum for making us feel so welcome and sharing their home, knowledge and culture with us. We would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Morocco – definitely worth doing!
We were so thrilled with our cooking class today! The setting on a rooftop terrace inside a charming courtyard was truly special and super authentic. Getting to cook using traditional local tools, learning about the cultural background of the dishes, and enjoying the wonderful tea ceremony made the experience deeply enriching. Anouar spoke fantastic English, making communication completely effortless. He answered all our questions, sharing great tips, and accommodating every request. His mom was also unbelievably sweet and did an amazing job guiding us through the dishes. We had great conversations and left with wonderful memories. Definitely a must-do!
If you have time to do only one thing in Rabat, make it this cooking experience with Anouar and his mother. You are in their family home in the middle of the Medina, getting a true authentic experience. We made bread and peanut butter all by hand. We learned how to make Moroccan tea the proper way. We enjoyed an amazing Chicken Rfissa. All of the food was incredible and honestly the best meal we had in Morocco. Anouar’s personality is welcoming and humorous and his mother is pure warmth. You will not regret this experience!
This was a great experience! Anouar and his family are very welcoming, they explained everything to us about the Moroccan culture. The food was delicious and we also loved the fitting with the Amazigh clothes. Would definitely recommend to anyone; friends, family and businesses!
More than happy to recommend this excursion to anyone who wants to experience true Moroccan hospitality and prepare traditional food. Anouar and his family made us feel welcomed into their home and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with them learning about their family life and culture.
A fantastic highlight to our stay in Rabat. Anouar and his family are so welcoming. Food was superb. If you are visiting Rabat you must try this. Home from home.
It was a super nice and delicious experience. Anouar & Mama guided through the process and gave insightful facts about the moroccan culinary culture. The tea ceremony was the cherry on top.
It was an amazing experience, very authetic, the food tasted delicious. Anouar and his mother are such a nice team and they guide you through every step. We learned a lot about the food, traditions and culture. Highly recommend it!
Such a beautiful experience with Anouar and his mum Samira. They welcomed us into their home with so much warmth and made us feel completely at home. We cooked an amazing Moroccan meal together, ate so well, and were looked after from start to finish. They are genuinely such kind, warm and beautiful people. A really special experience that we’ll remember.
This travel experience is a must for anyone after a true authentic Moroccan cultural experience. The food, guide, and entire afternoon was such a wonderful way to understand and appreciate the Moroccan culture. Especially for myself as an Australian who knew quite little. Highly recommend for couples, individuals or groups are who are curious and want to enjoy their holiday in Rabat.
Fun event cooking with a family on their rooftop outdoor kitchen. Vegetarian dish available, even vegan. It was fun also to dress up in local garb.
Wonderful time and food was delicious!! Had a very enjoyable time.
Such a wonderful afternoon! Anouar is a fantastic host whose family made us feel like one of their own while sharing their culture. Everything we cooked was delicious, and I loved how they paired the meal prep with local history and family kitchen secrets. Getting to try on traditional clothing was the icing on the cake! It’s a beautiful, immersive experience that lets you truly connect with a Moroccan family. 10/10 and make sure to add it to your itinerary when visiting Rabat.
What a special afternoon! Anouar is a fantastic host whose family welcomed us into their home and so graciously shared their culture with us. Everything we made was delicious and the prep was thoughtful and intentional with sharing the history and his family’s tips and tricks. We so loved dressing in their traditional bridal clothes as well! Really a wonderful way to dive in and feel like part of a Moroccan family!
We had an amazing time!! The food was incredible and Anouar was a wonderful host. We learned so much about the culture and tried on his moms traditional wedding outfits and jewelry.
Anouar is an amazing host. He takes you on a journey through his Morocco. The food we cooked was truly delicious. The company perhaps even better. Don't skip this during your trip to Rabat.
An amazing experience with the Moroccan mother and son. Tradition shines through in everything they do, and the food was absolutely delicious. We learned how to make traditional Moroccan bread, mint tea, peanut butter, and an unforgettable tagine. The hospitality is exceptional—you’ll leave with a full stomach, and the flavors will stay with you for a long time. The son of the family is a creative genius who has turned this concept into something truly special. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience. A 100% must-do!
My daughters and I had a wonderful time with Anouar and his mother and aunt! Not only did we make a fabulous dinner together (bastilla, Moroccan mint tea, amply, Inkan bread) we learned a lot about Moroccan and Amazigh culture. Anouar is a skilled communicator and an excellent host. His mother and her sister are delightful, fun, and skilled cooks. They were so excited to share their traditions with us. We left with full bellies, warmed hearts, and satisfied souls!
My husband and I booked this experience during a weekend trip to Rabat, and it ended up being the absolute highlight of our visit to Morocco. If you’re considering it, don’t hesitate, it is worth every cent. From the moment we arrived, Anouar made us feel incredibly welcome. His English is perfect, which made everything easy and allowed us to have genuine conversations throughout the afternoon. What really sets this experience apart is that it doesn’t feel like a tourist activity, it feels like being welcomed into a family’s home and sharing a piece of their daily life and culture. We had the pleasure of meeting Anouar’s father, Abdellah, his mother, Samira, and his sister-in-law, Nawal. Every member of the family was warm, kind, and eager to share their traditions with us. Together, we learned how to make homemade peanut butter and prepared a delicious chicken and vegetable couscous completely from scratch. We were also taught how to prepare traditional Moroccan tea, a skill we’ve continued to use since returning home. The experience was wonderfully hands-on, and we were involved in preparing the meal before sitting down to enjoy it together. One of the best aspects was the amount of time spent simply talking. We learned so much about Moroccan culture, family life, traditions, and everyday customs. Anouar answered every question we had with patience, openness, and genuine enthusiasm. As an added bonus, we also had the opportunity to try on traditional Moroccan wedding attire, which was a fantastic cultural experience and made for some wonderful memories and photos. In fact, Anouar took photos throughout and sent them to us, which is a really lovely momento of our time with them. What made this experience so special was the authenticity. There was no sense of being rushed or following a script. Instead, it felt like spending an afternoon with friends while learning about a fascinating culture through food, conversation, and hospitality. We’ve done many tours and activities while travelling, and this stands out as one of the best we’ve ever experienced. It wasn’t just a cooking class, it was a genuine cultural exchange and a memory we will treasure for years to come. Thank you, Anouar, Abdellah, Samira, and Nawal, for your incredible hospitality. We left with full stomachs, new skills, a deeper understanding of Moroccan culture, and memories that will last a lifetime.
This was a truly wholesome and amazing experience. The host and their family treat you like their own, creating a warm, genuine home feel. We loved getting our hands dirty making tagine, peanut butter paste, and mint tea from scratch. Watching the Mama prepare fresh butter and couscous was beautiful, and everything tasted delicious. Their home is a lovely setting for the activity. Getting to dress up in traditional wear made it even more special and fun. Do not miss this!
Outstanding experience! The entire family was incredibly warm, welcoming, and hospitable, creating a truly authentic, homely atmosphere from start to finish. Making traditional tagine, peanut butter, and mint tea completely from scratch was highly engaging and rewarding. Every single thing we made tasted absolutely amazing. To top it off Mama thoughtfully surprised us with delicious couscous and incredible homemade, creamy butter, which was a beautiful and unexpected gesture. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking a genuine, interactive, and delicious cultural experience!
Five stars are not enough for the special experience we lived with Anouar and his family. It's not only a delicious cooking experience but also a possibility to approach from a closer point of view a fascinating culture. All was good organized but without having the pressure of time so we enjoyed every moment. I hope to come back soon to try other recipes!
It was a wonderful experience and a great way to start our adventure in Rabat. Anouar was very good at communication even before the day and when I was inquiring about booking. His whole family were lovely and truly made you feel at home. Would highly recommend to anyone, no cooking knowledge required.
I wish there were more stars to rate our experience. Anwar and his family were warm, friendly, inviting and incredibly gracious. We had the opportunity to spend time with a local Berber family, to prepare traditional food in a traditional manner and to learn more about the Berber culture. The experience exceeded all my expectations and I can’t recommend this experience enough. Thank you again for a great introduction to the Berber culture and for being such great hosts.
We have gone to cooking classes in other countries that we have visited, but this one was by far and away the very best! Anouar and his family were warm, welcoming and took the time to explain every detail of the meal and the tradition it held in their country. We eagerly participated in the preparation of making bread in a clay oven, chopped vegetables and seasoning for tangine, and pressed fresh peanuts to make peanut butter which, along with fresh honey was added to couscous. The family also outfitted us in traditional wedding dress which was a delightfully fun addition to an already memorable experience. We were there for approximately 3 1/2 hours, and frankly the time went by so quickly…THAT’S how much fun we had. If I could give this review more than 5 stars I would in a heartbeat. Run, don’t walk to this memorable experience!
We had an amazing experience at a Berber home, preparing and eating a delicious meal. Anouar and his mother were delightful hosts that made us feel very welcome. We had three main course choices, and we chose the chicken and vegetable tajine which we helped prepare, and we helped make bread, peanut butter and mint tea. Getting to know a local Morrocan family was a wonderful experience and the highlight of our trip.
Best experience we had during our stay in Rabat. Anouar and his family live on a beautiful rooftop where we got a Moroccan cooking workshop. They explained everything from making the tea, peanut butter, bread and tahin. They let you do everything yourself so you understand it well. Also the quality is very good because the ingredients are fresh from the medina but they are cautious for the water and meat so you don’t get sick. Besides the cooking we also ate together and learned about each other’s culture. They were amazingly friendly and welcoming which made us enjoy every minute. A big suggestion for everyone visiting.
It was a lot more than just a cooking class. Anouar and his family shared a lot about their history and culture with us. The food was easy to make and very delicious ! Trying the Morrocon costumes was a lot of fun.
One of the highlights of our trip, no question. Anouar and his family created such a warm, welcoming environment from the moment we arrived. It felt less like an organized experience and more like being invited into someone’s home, which made it really special. Dinner was incredible — easily some of the best food we’ve had in Morocco — and the whole evening had a relaxed, intimate vibe that we really appreciated. We also loved getting to hear more about daily life and culture in a way you just don’t get otherwise. What stood out most was how genuine everything felt. You can tell this isn’t just something they “do,” it’s something they truly care about. I’d absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable experience.
beautiful experience for valentines day, would recommend it to anyone - great history about Morocco, so personalized, and delicious food.
We were welcomed by Anouar in the street who then led us to meet his mother and sisterinlaw. We really enjoyed the down to earth way of explaining things. They explained to us how the best way to make tea the Marocan way. I had no clue that we always have made it the wrong way. We loved how they took us step by step through the proces of making bread and a delicious couscous meal with chicken. While the couscous was steaming and we had some extra time they even braught out some traditional wedding cloths that we got to try on. To sum it all up...i think that this was the most fun/authentic experience that we had in our stay in Marokko. Thanks for sharing your hospitality!
