Experience was amazing. Khadija was so friendly and welcoming. She explained every Step even the extra ones. The Couscous was one of the best if not the best we ever tried. I recomend this experience.

Excellent class. The food we prepared was delicious! I will use these recipes when I get home: chicken tajine, eggplant, carrots, zucchini, peppers, bread. All of it tasted better than the restaurants we have visited here in Rabat. My wife loved it that we could sit. The chef is just what you are looking for- competent, friendly, great sense of humor, made us feel welcome and comfortable. This class was in her home. We prepared the food in her kitchen. Great atmosphere, cozy, fun, delicious.
What a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in Moroccan culture! Chef Khadifa welcomed us into her beautiful home where we spent the next 2 1/2 hours helping to prepare a delicious Moroccan feast! She even provided us with pen and paper to take notes so we can recreate the dishes back home. She’s warm, friendly and an excellent chef. I highly recommend this experience…you won’t regret it!
Very authentic cooking experience. We assisted in making chicken tangine and Marokkeen pizza (bread) which tasted great. Would recommend for anyone especially if you can speak French (English works but limits the conversation a bit).
We had so much fun with Khadijah! We felt so welcome in her home and with her family and the food was delicious! This is a really unique experience and I would highly recommend booking if it sounds fun to you.
Its very interesiting to be inside the home of a local and she is very knowledgeable in Morocan cuisine. You will meet other people there, thats always a good thing. They might no do the class if its just you.
Fabulous day! We were warmly welcomed with mint tea & almond cookies. The cooking experience was fantastic with lots of hands on experience. We made 4 vegetable dishes, chicken tagine & Moroccan bread. Chef Khadja had a great sense of humour despite our language barriers! She taught my husband how to cook in 2 hours and I’ve been trying for 30 years ! So glad we did this & would highly recommend when visiting Rabat!
My friend and I booked this lesson the night before, and it blew our expectations away. The home is amazing, Khadija and her son are both super warm, and we had a fantastic time cooking together!
We had an amazing time at the cooking class! We prepared a delicious fish pastilla, and she explained everything clearly, giving us plenty of time to take notes. We also received a warm and heartfelt welcome in her home. Highly recommended!
Had a really great time learning to cook an amazing Moroccan chicken dish! Chef is really lovely and makes everything with love and care. Great conversation at dinner with our host as well, would recommend!
Warm , friendly, welcoming. Lots of laughter and delicious food. We learned a lot about making chicken pastille, and then eating it was a sumptious experience. Delicious!!!
Khadija is so lovely! She gave us an unforgettable experience making lamb tagine and veggies in her warm lovely home! I recommend her highly!!
Khadija gave us a great introduction to cooking Moroccan cuisine! I especially loved her hospitality as we were greeted with tea and the most delicious almond ghrabi pastries. She does a pastry class as well which I will definitely book the next time I am in Rabat! Thank you, Khadija, we had a wonderful time!
This was a fabulous class. Khadija is a great and experienced Chef...she mixed showing us how she cooks with involving us all in the preparation of the meal. The food was local and lovely. It was a real gift to be invited into someones home and learn how too cook in a very local style
Chef Kadijah is amazing! Extremely kind and generous, even on a holiday weekend wben I'm sure she was extremely busy with family. She showed extreme patience with our kids (ages 9 and 11) and loved on us like we were family. Five stars. Would do it again!
We had a great cooking class, where we made chicken tajine and maroccan side dishes. We were greeted with mint tea and maroccan pastries. It was very delicius and a great experience not to miss when you are in Marocco.
This workshop was really nice. Best cooking advice, we could participate, felt like home in her house. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend!
What a wonderful experience. Think of it more as a private chef cooking for you in her home than a traditional cooking class. The food was delicious and we spent about 3.5-4 hours there. She did the bulk of the cooking. We helped cut and took notes. She made a lamb tagine with sides of zucchini, carrots, peppers, potatoes and two types of bread. Time very well spent!
What a terrific experience learning from Khadija who taught us the secrets of Moroccan cooking. The Chicken Tagine, two side dishes, and two breads were all delicious and it was such fun being with an excellent instructor and lovely lady!
It's a taxi ride out or 40 minutes by L7 or L35 bus from the medina but well worth the effort. So much more fun cooking in a small group in a local's home and enjoying what we cooked for dinner, as opposed to some mass tourist kitchen. We were allowed to take notes as we cooked and took turns to cook a chicken tagine and bake bread. After 2.5 weeks in Morocco probably still one of our favourite meals. Shkran!
I thoroughly enjoyed my cooking experience with Khadija. She is very adept at staging all the various dishes that accompanied our Chicken Tangine main dish. She gave great directions and techniques to allow me to make it at home. Sitting down after we plated all the food was very satisfying. It all tasted amazing! Khadija is a very generous hostess. What a great experience!
Wonderful opportunity to help prepare and enjoy a delicious traditional Moroccan meal. Chef is very organized and has a great sense of humor. The spices used in preparing the zucchini and green beans made them the best we’ve ever eaten.
This cooking class was great! I am vegetarian and there are plenty of vegetarian dishes you learn to make alongside the chicken tagine which you can also make vegetarian when you make it at home. We learned a lot and loved the chef/teacher. She was lovely. A great activity! Thanks, Mel
Chef Khadija has mastered the recipe for an amazing cooking class experience: a lifetime of practice, friendly hospitality, and sharing the joy of what you love. She and her son were delightful hosts. She is a skilled and patient teacher, making sure we captured all the many steps of making a delicious seafood pastilla and sending us home absolutely full of amazing food and memories.
Very friendly and nice experience! The best Moroccan meal you can have. We had very nice talks during cooking and dinner, and were taught a lot about the dishes and cooking processes. Everything was well prepared, and can’t put a finger on anything.
She was amazing! From the tea and cookies to providing paper and pen for notes to providing takeout containers. My son loves to cook and he loved the experience and helping with the prep. Would come back if ever in Morocco again. Best meal of the trip so far.
We started out with tea and sweets, which we all loved. We met the chef, Khadija, and her son (as well as a few other family members.) Chef Khadija taught us to make tajine, several vegetable sides, and breads. It was all delicious and the conversation during the meal was a wonderful learning experience for our family. My favorite part was watching her interact with my children. She was so kind and patient with them as they learned from her expertise. It was a beautiful experience and I would wholeheartedly recommend it!
Our family spent the afternoon with Chef Khadija and it was my favorite part of our trip to Rabat. We arrived with our children and had tea and cookies to start. Then we worked together to make Chicken Tajine, a few vegetables (even my picky daughter loved these!) batboute, and Msemen. She is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and kind. Even during a very busy weekend (as our trip was during Eid Al Adha), with lots of family and friends in town, she was very kind and generous. Every need was taken into account, and we were made to feel like family. It was a beautiful experience for all of us and I would highly recommend it!
What an incredibly delightful experience with Chef Khadija!!! Her welcoming spirit and ready smile were the highlights of our experience but right next to it was the delectable delight of the food my wife and I were thrilled to help (careful with that word, she did all the hard work) prepare under the watchful eyes of one of the most gentle souls we've ever met. The main dishes prepared included Chicken Tajine and Batboute (which we helped mix and knead the old fashion way). Just before finishing preparing the food, Chef Khadija asked my wife if she wanted to wear a beautiful traditional dress to enjoy with the traditional dishes we were taught to make. Needless to say, my wife was made to feel and look like a Moroccan queen! Chef Khadija is such a precious and inviting person who exudes the grace and warmth of the beauty of the Moroccan people and culture. She made us feel like we weren't just guests but family members. If you're in Casablanca for a few days, take the train (or taxi) ride to the beautiful City of Rabad (about an hour away) and enjoy the hospitality of one of the most authentic and knowledgeable Moroccan chefs you'll ever meet. Doing so will help you learn the simple lesson that humans everywhere were designed by our Creator to live in peace around one of the most common things we all do -- break bread around a table from the bounty of the earth. This "tour" and cooking class is a MUST for anyone who wants to go beyond Casablanca to one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco (Rabat), learn to cook from a pro a quintessential Moroccan dish, and while doing so enjoy the company of the nicest chef (sorry, Chef Ramsay) you'll ever meet.
This cooking class was everything we wanted! Chef Khadija was very welcoming. We cooked chicken Tagine and Badboute bread. I also asked if it was possible to make Za'alook because I've really enjoyed it in Morocco and she was able to accommodate.
The absolute highlight of our trip to Rabat - Chef Khadija was so welcoming and hospitable. We had an amazing time and the food was unreal! We couldn’t recommend this more for a memorable and authentic Moroccan experience!
This was a great find. Chef Khadija's house was beautiful as was the neighborhood. We were greeted in true Moroccan fashion with mint tea and sweets. We then went to the kitchen and "helped" prepare our meals. Lots of cutting onions, garlic, peppers, etc and then adding spices to the tagine. We watched her make 2 different types of bread which were very tasty. As she prepared most of the food, chicken and vegetables, we watched how it was done so we could then do it ourselves when we came home. She encouraged us to take notes. She had Google translate which helped us with the many questions we had for her. Because of this great time, we purchased a tagine after we got home and can't wait to make our own meals. Come hungry.
We made rfissa in our class, and the end result was one of the top two meals I had while in Morocco. Chef Khadija knows her stuff. We had a classmate who spoke Arabic, so that was very helpful to communicate, but Chef Khadija would show us packages or translations on her phone also. Great class, and I would highly recommend.
Lovely host and the best tangible we’ve had in Morocco! Chef Khadija was funny, sweet & the best host. I loved that she made us laugh while having my husband do the hard work! :) We made chicken Tanjine, vegetables and bread it was better than the highly recommended restaurant we went to the night before. Highly recommend!!
Chef Khadija was so sweet (and patient despite us only speaking English) throughout the class. She welcomed us into her beautiful home and we left very full!
Great experience! We have chosen lamb tajine and it was delicious! Khadija is a very skilled cook, wonderful and kind person and she even allowed us to choose the type of food we wanted to learn. She welcomed us in her house, borrowed some traditional Moroccan dress for taking pictures and served tea as a welcome drink. We could easily communicate even if she speaks no English and we do not speak French or Arabic. There are international tennants in her house, so it is also a place to meet people. The location is a bit far from the centre, but petit taxi can take you there for around 4 euro. Overall, we were very happy to have this experience.
If you want a fun activity to do in Rabat, I highly recommend this cooking experience! It was the highlight of our time in Rabat. Chef Khadija is such a lovely lady; I felt right at home with her and despite the language barrier, had the best 2.5 hours in her home! We made vegetable and beef couscous and it was phenomenal! Literally the best couscous of my life. I cannot say enough good things. She has so many years of professional experience and now she’s sharing her talents and culture with others. I wish her continued success, because she absolutely deserves it.
We booked for a cooking class with Chef Khadija yesterday afternoon. Initially, we were apprehensive as she spoke no English but with the aid of a few words of French, Google Translate and acting we were transported into the world of Moroccan spices and technique. We made a complex chicken tagine with accompaniments as well as traditional bread, all of which we got to savour. It was a wonderful, warm and fulfilling afternoon where we laughed and enjoyed ourselves. Chef allowed us to participate fully in the preparation process in her own kitchen. We made copious notes and are planning to put our skills into practice back in South Africa for our friends. Thoroughly recommended as an authentic experience of Moroccan culture and cuisine!
I love these classes and I will be back next year when I visit Morocco again. The Chef is exceptional, she answered all my questions. Explaining things like what a 1/2 tea cup in liquid measurement equals. Her directions were very clear and I will be duplicating these recipes when I get back home
If you are looking for a lovely morning out after you are sick of wandering through the medina or looking at the next monument then spend the morning with the lovely Chef Khadija. We felt very welcome into her home and were taken through the process of making a traditional Tajine and breads. The flavours were spectacular and we will be trying some of them at home for sure. A fun and low stress way to experience Moroccan cuisine. She didn't even laugh at our bumbling attempts to assist. The taste of the meal was far better than we have had in various restaurants. Top activity, recommended.
We were very happy about the experience. You get into her house and kitchen and follow and help her prepare the food. She was very flexible and allowed for variations (berber omelette, vegetarian tajine, ...). She speaks little english and french and luckily we had a darija speaking fried with us. The food was excellent.
Lovely people. Cleanest house ever. She spoke very little English but this was not a problem. Food was delicious. Highly recommend.
This cooking lesson in Rabat is one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco. It was such a pleasure to learn to cook local cuisine from Chef Khadija (Marouane’s mom). They were very welcoming of us. We enjoyed the cooking experience, Chef Khadija & Maroune’s hospitality and even the chance to celebrate my wife’s birthday in their home. We highly recommend this cooking lesson with Chef Khadija.
The cooking experience with Khadija was wonderful. She is knowledgeable and fun and we prepared an amazing Pastilla dish with Briouate to accompany. Her kitchen is impeccably clean and well appointed for the experience. We felt welcomed and comfortable in her home. Communication with her son made getting to her home pretty easy, although it’s quite far from the center of Rabat. Thank you for a fun and informative afternoon!
Was great to do something authentic. Very welcoming host Prepared traditional dishes in their home. Fully recommend this to anyone. Was also ver lovely with our children Bread was very nice and moist Chicken mmm Loved the sweet potatoes n carrots
If you want an authentic cooking class taught by an experienced chef, look no further than Chef Khadija! We had an amazing experience making traditional Moroccan Pastilla- an amazing, detailed dish with flavors that are out of this world. Chef Khadija was welcoming, her home was lovely and the experience is one we will not forget. Don't think twice, just book it!!!
As a Chef, I was looking to learn authentic Moroccan cuisine. I was extremely happy with the the experience we had with Chef Khadija! She was very warm and welcoming to her home. Took the time to show us every step and answered numerous of my questions. It really made our trip to Morocco that much more special. Inshallah we meet again! Shoukran Chef
We loved Khadija and the great meal she cooked and teached how to do. Very nice experience to do in Rabat
Both chef khadija, Salma and Marouane were very kind and interesting to chat about Morocco with. Also the food was great
The family treated us like family upon arrival, welcoming us with traditional tea and cookies. Salma, daughter of Chef Khadija was very sweet, and lovely. She served as the translator while we made Lamb Tajine, a traditional Moroccan dish with Chef Khadija. Salma did a wonderful job explaining their traditions and customs throughout the lesson. It was obvious how experienced Chef Khadija is, and how much she enjoys cooking and teaching. Obviously, cooking a new dish was very cool- (it came out amazing, by the way!) but I think what I enjoyed most about this class, was their company. Thank you again for having us.
