We recently took the 4 day Tour of “Quito to Cuenca 4 or 5-Day Tour with Cotopaxi, Quilotoa, Baños and Chimborazo”. We chose the median range hotels. That was our first tour in Ecuador. It was a success. We were fortunate to have a great guide, Luis. He was knowledgeable about a lot of things: history, geography, plants and birds. The schedule was flexible to meet our interests: hiking, photography and local food. He was on time and kept the schedule well. We were not rushed at any time to allow us to enjoy the activities although the drive was long from the second day on. We liked all four areas in the four days. The hotels were pretty good, all were located in convenient places in a city for us to have dinners by ourselves and walked around. We liked the lunch places he chose for us too. It was a memorable trip!

Day 1
1
Upon arrival at Cotopaxi National Park, we explore the unique high-altitude páramo ecosystem surrounding Limpiopungo Lagoon. With Cotopaxi Volcano (5,897 m) rising dramatically in the background, enjoy a gentle walk while learning about the biodiversity of this fragile Andean environment and its ecological importance. This is an excellent opportunity for wildlife observation and panoramic photography.
We will drive up to the Cotopaxi parking area at 4,500 meters above sea level, where the ascent begins toward the José Rivas Refuge at 4,810 meters on the slopes of Cotopaxi, Ecuador’s second-highest peak at 5,897 meters and one of the highest active volcanoes in the world, as well as one of the country’s most iconic highlights; this challenging yet rewarding hike can be adjusted to your fitness level and pace, and once at the refuge you may rest, warm up with a hot drink or soup, acclimate to the altitude, and, if weather and conditions allow, continue toward the glacier for an even closer encounter with this majestic Andean giant.
After the hike, we descend from the high slopes of Cotopaxi and continue to a traditional local restaurant, Rondador, located on the outskirts of the park, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy authentic Andean cuisine in a warm, rustic setting. Following lunch, don’t forget to ask for a few carrots to feed the friendly llamas in the garden, a charming and memorable experience, before taking in one last spectacular view of Cotopaxi rising over the páramo. Later, transfer to your selected nearby hotel for a well-deserved rest.
Day 2
2
Embarking on a journey southward along the celebrated ‘Avenue of the Volcanoes,’ we will reach the majestic Quilotoa Lake. This stunning crater lake, nestled in Ecuador’s Andes, is renowned for its 250-meter depth and vibrant turquoise waters colored by dissolved minerals. It is a treasured destination for those in pursuit of awe-inspiring vistas and the excitement of hiking. Guests have the option to trek down to the crater’s edge or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the rim. For those desiring additional adventure, kayaking and horseback riding are available for an additional fee.
A geological marvel in Ecuador, formed by pyroclastic flows from the Quilotoa volcano’s eruption around 1280. It’s a favorite spot for outdoor lovers, and we’ll be making a brief stop to enjoy the scenery.
The Tigua painters of Ecuador are celebrated for their vivid sheepskin paintings that capture the essence of Andean life and traditions. Visiting Tigua offers a chance to see these artworks come to life and to connect with the indigenous culture through community engagement and learning about their sustainable lifestyle.
Day 3
3
After a scenic 40-minute drive from Baños, we begin with a short uphill walk to the iconic Tree House, home of the famous “Swing at the End of the World.” This viewpoint, featured in National Geographic, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Tungurahua Volcano and surrounding valleys. The area is surrounded by beautiful gardens filled with flowers that attract hummingbirds, making it a true paradise for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.
We continue along the renowned Route of the Waterfalls, a spectacular canyon road that follows the Pastaza River through lush vegetation and dramatic cliffs. Along the 45-minute drive, we stop at several viewpoints to admire cascading waterfalls and take photos of the surrounding landscapes. For those seeking extra adrenaline, there is the option to cross the valley in a cable car (tarabita) suspended above the river gorge. Adventurous travelers may also choose to participate in activities such as zip lining, bungee jumping, giant swings, and other adventure experiences, available for an additional cost paid directly on site.
Our final highlight is the impressive Pailón del Diablo, one of Ecuador’s largest and most powerful waterfalls. A scenic two-kilometer walk through forest trails and hanging bridges leads us to close-up viewpoints where you can truly feel the force of the cascading water. This natural wonder is considered one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the country and a memorable finale to the day.
Day 4
4
We will drive through the dramatic highland landscapes for approximately two hours to reach the Chimborazo Wildlife Reserve, home to Ecuador’s highest peak and the point on Earth closest to the sun when measured from the planet’s center. Surrounded by vast páramo plains and roaming vicuñas, this impressive volcano offers a unique high-altitude experience. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to take a one-hour hike toward the second refuge at nearly 4,875 meters above sea level. This is a spectacular destination for geology and volcanology enthusiasts, where you can witness striking evidence of the Earth’s geological history. The hike is flexible and can be adjusted according to your interests and fitness level.
Discover one of Ecuador’s most dramatic Andean landscapes at the legendary Devil’s Nose Mountain, an extraordinary feat of railway engineering carved into near-vertical cliffs. This iconic route, once considered a masterpiece of railroad construction, continues to captivate visitors with its breathtaking scenery. The Devil’s Nose Train now operates from Friday through Sunday. If your itinerary falls on one of these days, we can gladly assist with booking the train tickets in advance. On non-operational days, the experience can still be enjoyed from scenic viewpoints or via a short guided hike along the mountain trail, offering equally impressive panoramic views of the zigzagging railway and surrounding valleys.
Continue your journey south through the scenic Andean highlands toward Cuenca, enjoying changing landscapes of mountains, valleys, and traditional villages along the way. Upon arrival in the city, we will provide a comfortable drop-off at either Cuenca Airport or your selected hotel, marking the conclusion of your 4-day tour. End of services for the 4-day itinerary.
Day 5
5
Cuenca earns its UNESCO World Heritage status at every turn — and this guided half-day tour shows you exactly why. Walk through the historic center, admire the iconic blue domes of the New Cathedral with its gold-leaf altar, and soak up the color of the local flower market. A visit to Homero Ortega's hat factory reveals the true story behind the famous Panama Hat — spoiler: it's entirely Ecuadorian. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace.
Just two hours from Cuenca stands Ingapirca, Ecuador's most important Inca archaeological site and a place where two powerful civilizations left their mark. Explore ancient temples, ceremonial platforms, and the iconic Sun Temple — a testament to the fascinating blend of Cañari and Inca cultures that once thrived here. With expert guides bringing the history to life, this is one of those stops that turns a sightseeing moment into something you'll actually remember. Drop-off at your preferred location — either the airport or your selected hotel.
a short drive leads you into one of Ecuador's most otherworldly landscapes — Cajas National Park, a high-altitude reserve where hundreds of glacial lakes shimmer between rolling hills and ancient Polylepis forests. The ever-shifting weather adds a mystical quality that makes every visit feel different. Hike through the páramo, stand at the continental divide, and breathe in some of the cleanest air on the continent. Raw Andean nature at its finest. Drop-off at your preferred location — either the airport or your selected hotel.

If you are lucky enough to have Wilson as your guide you will have a great time. He treats you as his personal guest and takes delight in showing you his country - and explaining the history and culture.
This was a fantastic varied trip - We had a private tour and went for the first class hotels which were excellent - We particularly liked the Hacienda La Cienega and Posada Ingapirca. Luis was our guide and could not have been better . - He helped us sort out some minor issues with the itinerary and meal inclusions as there were some unexpected changes to the final itinerary
I am very happy with the experience. My tour was not a 5 day group tour, but 5 individual group tours (meaning, the people who travelled together were different each day). This meant that when I realised I couldn't handle the high altitude hikes, the agency managed to make last minute adjustments to make my trip more comfortable and enjoyable. The hotels picked were also pretty good. I would recommend Cuenca Best Tours in general, very responsive and helpful.
We had an amazing experience travelling from Quito to Cuenca 4 night trip - Luis was an exceptional guide - very knowledgeable , took everything at the right pace , excellent English and a safe driver . He helped us sort out some minor issues with the itinerary We stayed in the upgraded hotels which were well chosen and located. we particularly liked the Posada Ingapirca and the Hacienda la Ciénega . It would almost impossible to do this trip any other way and Cuenca bedtours were very responsive with their communication
I can’t recommend this tour company highly enough. My contact, Javier, pulled together an incredible itinerary on very short notice - just two days before my arrival, and seamlessly accommodated changes I requested both before and during the tour. Every guide and driver we worked with was outstanding: Fernando in Quito and Cotopaxi, Lincoln in Quilotoa and Baños, and Luis in Puyo. The first-class accommodations were excellent, featuring some of the highest-rated properties in each destination. Javier truly felt available around the clock, responding quickly to every text and phone call. An exceptional experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this company.
We did a 3-day guided tour from Cuenca to Quito with Luis, and it was a fantastic experience. Luis is a local from Cuenca, originally from the Ingapirca area, and his knowledge of the region really made the trip special. Along the way, we visited Ingapirca and Cotopaxi, and Luis shared not only the rich history of Ecuador but also insights into its current life and culture. He has a great way of explaining things clearly and with genuine interest, whether it’s about the country’s past, its people, or the incredible plants and wildlife we saw on the road. Besides being very knowledgeable, Luis is simply a kind and easygoing person to travel with. Everything felt well-organized and relaxed at the same time. We’d definitely recommend a tour with Luis if you want to learn more about Ecuador and enjoy the journey as much as the destinations
Absolutely unforgettable experience with Cuenca Bestours and our amazing guide Luis Gonzalez. Communication with Javier was very smooth from the beginning to the end. Questions were answered immediately thought email or chat messages. They organized a personalized 5-days tour from Quito to Guayaquil for us which consisted of many breathtaking views, hikes and exciting activities, private transportation, unique haciendas and delicious local meals. The van provided was in an excellent condition and maintained impeccably clean every day throughout the trip. Our guide Luis was extremely friendly, kind and patient. He speaks with such passion and knowledge about his country that it is impossible not to fall in love with Ecuador. I highly recommend Cuenca Bestours and Luis Gonzalez for private tours and excellent service around beautiful Ecuador!
Driving through the Andes with Luis Gonzales is an experience of a lifetime. Visiting the stunning beauty of Cotopaxi and Chimborazo volcanos is exceptionally beautiful, not unlike alpine areas, but entirely different because we are in Ecuador. The skies are clear and you can see forever. Luis pointed out details about the culture, geology, history of each area throughout our travels. Being with Luis allowed us to maximize our visit as we never got lost or had to deal with large numbers of people as our group was 2 couples. Luis is especially knowledgeable about the indigenous people and shares details about their attire and lifestyles. He is a smart and safe driver, very reliable, and a good and kind man. His english is excellent. Be prepared to travel to very high altitudes and dress for cold air. The food at the restaurant stops were tasty and very affordable for the good quality of food we enjoyed. We had numerous bathroom coffee and breaks along the way. Our stays were in the comfort class and I recommend paying the uncharge. Great trip and people. Ecuador is wonderful ….
First off, props to our great guide, Wilson. He was driver, tour guide, translator, and everything person. No worries and no problems. Unfortunately we were at the end of a two month trip throughout South America, so we were a little tired and worn out. We also were at sea level prior. You are at altitude the entire trip, so be ready. At one stop, over 16k feet up😁. You get to see so much more of Ecuador when you drive around. Roads weren’t bad, Chile and Peru were way worse. This was a good blend of history, historical sites, and unbelievable scenery. Unfortunately the volcanos hid from site most of the trip behind the clouds. The hotels chosen were nice. I would recommend this trip.
I cannot recommend Cuenca Tours highly enough! I contacted them last minute out of the blue and enquired about a private tour from Cuenca to Banos, with a night in the Andes, a night in the Amazon, and finish in Cotopaxi, and they blew it out of the water. Javier my contact at Cuenca Tours couldn't have been more accommodating and patient answering all my questions, and making everything would be arranged according to my specification. Everything was perfectly planned and organised, just 10/10! On the day of our tour we were greeted by Wilson - this man is amazing!! He was a true delight to travel with! He was full of knowledge and good advise and went out of his way to make sure we had the absolute best time. We felt so relaxed, safe and well taken care of being with him. He even made sure the rain stopped whenever we had to walk around. I think he's an angel :) I wish we could take him along on all of our travels!! We honestly have had the BEST TIME and cannot thank Javier and Wilson enough for everything that they have done for us. WE LOVE ECUADOR!! And will be back again 100% :) xx
The trip was well planned and executed. I had a short medical problem which was well handled by the guide. It was my confusion but I created a scheduling problem at the end of the trip and Cuencabestours accommodated me with the change. The guides were knowledgeable and spoke vernacular English.
It was an amazing trip with a great tour guide in Luis. I appreciate all the locations we visited and mix with great adventures. I learned so much on the Ecuadorian culture and just beautiful people. I felts safe traveling to different towns.
Absolutely amazing experience and highly recommended. Our tour guide Wilson and driver Homero were amazing. Wilson was incredibly knowledgeable and happy to show off all of the highlights of Ecuador. He was great with our kids and kept them engaged and interested. The landscapes and food were unforgettable. The Andean highlands and culture were varied and unlike anything we have seen before. This is a section of Ecuador not to be missed. The hotels selected were amazing, comfortable with a rich history and impeccable hospitality. The itinerary was well thought out but flexible. We decided to extend our trip and Wilson worked with Javier to plan everything and ensure the best possible experience. I cannot say enough good things about this trip, the tour company, and especially the guides.
I would absolutely recommend the best Cuenca tours. We had an amazing experience with Lincoln, one of the best tour guide (knowledgeable, kind, patient, interested in knowing us, great driver..) I’ve had the chance to encounter - and I’ve traveled quite a bit. Everything was exceptional, well organized and we did get to visit and enjoy the best places of the area. I would definitely recommend upgrading to the higher end option as the hotels were also very nice, charming, comfortable and with great service and delicious food! Our second guide Wilson was just as great although we had less time with him, he went way out of his way to also take very good care of us. If you want a stress free amazing experience, these are hands down the guys to go with
My husband and I had Sebastian as our guide for the whole trip. Sebastian was great and spoke very good English so we could chat really easily with him. Sebastian was very amenable, knowledgeable and friendly., He judged our abilities and matched the activities to suit. It was good that we did some reasonably challenging hiking so we felt we had achieved something each day. We had some great lunches and stayed in interesting places and rach day there was something new. We found out an amazing amount about the country. The trip met our expectations and beyond.
Everything went well and to plan Luis was a great guide and driver providing just the right amount of information and when it was needed Accommodation was of a good standard The tour covered all the main highlights of the area and is adaptable to suit you Would recommend
Ecuadorian Andes 4-day tour! My wife and I had an AMAZING 4-day trip in the Ecuadorian Andes. We would like to THANK Javier (the owner of the company) and our two tour guides Lincoln and Luis for this amazing trip! I have never seen such a personalized support - before, during and after the trip - before, so I want to give my special regards to Javier for this! Before we even booked this trip - we just declared some interest - Javier offered to talk over the phone, explain the itinerary and address any question we might had. We also provided to us with great advice about what to pack, bring, wear etc. The organization of the trip was just perfect. In the morning of our first day, Lincoln came and picked us from our hotel in Quito and started a wonderful trip in the Avenue of Volcanoes. Lincoln has been a great company, a great guide and an incredible person during our trip from Quito to Riobamba. We explored/hiked Cotopaxi, Quilotoa, Banos, several other Ecuadorian towns and waterfalls, we went to local markets. He was very patient with us, addressing any wish we had about places to visit etc. All the different restaurants we went (included in the package) were amazing, the food was incredible and very big plates, and the hotels were also very nice! This trip has been a wonderful experience, as I think that the Andes/highlands is the true heart of Ecuador. Meeting all these indigenous tribes and people, wearing traditional clothing, eating in traditional taverns... great memories for the rest of our lives. With Lincoln, we travelled until the town of Riobamba. The last day, Luis (another wonderful guide/driver) picked us from our hotel in Riobamba to Cuenca, as he knew better the places (he is a local resident), we visited the Incas ruins, we stopped in many places view points and had great discussions about the local culture of Ecuador. I think whatever review I could make for this company and these people is very pour compared to the quality of service we received. We were and felt totally SAFE, we had amazing travel company with our guides, and Javier was the best person to help you book a trip (we booked another wonderful trip in Galapagos). Thank you all guys!! Galapagos Islands 4-day tour We had a great time in Galapagos, and a big part of this was due to the Cuenca Best Tours, the company we booked this trip (we booked a 4-day tour in the Ecuadorian Andes with the same company too). Javier is the owner of this company and I admit that I have never seen such a personalized support from any other travel company. His support before, during and after our trip was just incredible. Before we booked this trip, Javier offered us to talk over the phone and go over the itinerary, explain the days/tours and address any question we may had. Galapagos is a special region in Ecuador and tour are ran by local companies only due to the regulations. However, Javier organized everything fantastically. He had one person come to the Baltra airport (just to help us with our luggage and our short trip to Santa Cruz island (you have to take a bus and small taxi boat), and then a taxi driver to the Santa Cruz island. He had a great stop to a ranch where we enjoyed our lunch and came close with the huge galapagos turtles! Later we went to our beutiful hotel. Before each day, Javier contacted us over the phone to go over the schedule for the next day, explain to us everything we needed to know, he was constantly present to translate if needed etc. He is just fantastic! He had a great time in the islands during these 4 days, and I want to thank again many-many times for his support!!
I can't recommend Cuenca Best Tours highly enough!! From the initial enquiry through to booking and exploring Ecuador Javier and his team have been fantastic! The tour ensured we saw all of the highlights in the area and more. The hotels selected for us were fabulous and our guide Lincoln took us on some great hikes. Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to finish our tour early and return to Quito but Javier was very understanding and quickly altered the arrangements, took good care of us and ensured we arrived back in Quito on time. If you want to explore Ecuador safely, comfortably and make the best use of your time book with Cuenca Best Tours.
My husband and I did the 5-day, 4 night tour from Quito to Cuenca and we couldn't have been happier with the trip. Javier was easy to work with (even when I changed my mind a million times) and accommodated our interests and my choices for accommodations. Ecuador is a beautiful country and we enjoyed every bit of it - the mountains/volcanoes, visiting with a local indigenous family, the historical sites, the walks, the rapelling in Banos - our tour seemed well thought out and went very smoothly. It was wonderful to have breakfast and lunch provided every day, allowing us to sample local cuisine and leaving us to decide what to have for dinner. A huge shout out to our guide, Sebastian - he was very personable and knowledgeable, and very willing to answer our multitude of questions. Since we spent a fair amount of time in the car together, we learned a tremendous amount about Ecuador's politics, culture, views on women, history, economy, and customs - it was like we had a crash course on the country and we enjoyed it all. Sebastian was a perfect guide (and a very good driver, too) and he reflects well on Cuenca Bestours. All in all, our pre-Galapagos trip was wonderful and I highly recommend Cuenca Bestours to anyone looking for an introduction to the beautiful country of Ecuador.
We did a 6 day superior level trip from Quito to Cuenca after spending 2 weeks in the Galapagos. The drive through the Avenue of the Volcanoes is spectacular and provides an awesome counterpoint to the islands. We had 2 amazing guides, Lincoln and Sebastian. They provided extensive information about everything we saw and visited and were always ready to modify the trip to meet our needs and expectations. The accommodations were excellent and the food was always local and delicious. Booking the trip was easy and Javier was always prompt in getting back to us. We highly recommend Cuenca Bestours.
Javier put together an amazing and customized trip for us from Quito to Cuenca with only a few days of advance notice. He kept in touch via phone/whatsapp and answered all our questions before and during the tour. Accommodations in hotels and restaurants were super nice and super unique! Both of our guides (Lincoln and Luis) were amazing. They discussed an amazing and rich Ecuador history with us, hiked with us, showed us interesting and hidden places and drove us around in a safe and respectable manner. I highly recommend Cuenca Tours and guides Luis and Lincoln to anyone!
We did a 5-day tour from Quito to Cuenca. From planning all the way to the end, we had such a great experience. Highly recommend this company! Making arrangements was super easy, we were able to discuss every detail and customize all. Javier is super easy to work with. We had an amazing guide, Andres León, that became a person friend after this trip. Andres is very knowledgeable, very passionate about travel himself and was such a pleasure to be with throughout the entire trip. I can’t say enough good things, company & Andres made everything perfect & easy. We love all the cities & places we visited. All the lunches included were truly amazing in the most beautiful places. Hasiendas/hotels that company arranged are beautiful with great service. If you are looking to explore Ecuador, don’t hesitate, Cuenca Best Tours is the best choice!
This is a MUST DO tour for anyone who wants to see & experience the amazing Ecuadorean Andes region. The beauty and magnificence of these mythical volcanoes, mountains and cascades, where indigenous people still live is just stunning- and inspiring. In particular, our drivers/guides on this tour were excellent drivers, AND extremely knowledgeable Tourist guides. Their SUVs were very clean and had properly working, clean seat belts. All in all, we had an unforgettable 4 days getting to discover and enjoy Alexander Von Humboldt’s beloved Avenue of the Volcanoes.
We had an amazing 5 day tour from Quito to Cuenca with Javier. Javier has an incredible wealth of knowledge about the plants, animals, birds, history and geography. We spent the nights at some incredible hotels. And the views along the Avenue of Volcanoes - wow! We run out of superlatives trying to convey how great the tour is and how great Javier is.
We had a great time -- Ecuador is a really beautiful country and travelling along the Pan American Highway was a great way to see more of it. The hotels that were booked for us were terrific. We had nice meals, beautiful scenery and a chance to go off on our own for a bit every day. Lincoln and Andres were knowledgeable, and very helpful.
Quilotoa lake is just amazing ! Like all other activities done during those 4 days. Both guides knows perfectly their country & region and explain everything with all details required. Just knowing in advance the location for every end of afternoon/night would have been a plus to anticipate things to see/do.
My mom and I booked our 7-day trip in Ecuador visiting Quito and Cuenca over the Christmas holidays through Cuenca Besttours. I was initially skeptical about betting our entire trip experience over online reviews, but was very pleased with how it turned out. Javier was very professional and arranged all the drivers perfectly. The driver's were always one time, extremely courteous and very reliable. Our guide Andres Leon in particular is such a fun person to be around, with such rich knowledge of not only the flora and fauna around the Cajas National Park but also how they are connected to the culture and the way of living. I enthusiastically recommend Cuenca Bestours for all travelers to Ecuador.
A wonderful, jam packed tour. They listened to our interests and presented an excellent plan, that was also adjustable as needed. Having a vehicle with a driver/guide made everything so flexible. Locations, activities, food and lodgings were great. Our guide Javier was informative and you could tell he loved his country. He was certainly knowledgeable but if he didn’t know something he would tell us then we all work work to figure/find it out. Fully recommend this company.
We booked a 4 day trip from Cuenca. Our guide Maria was amazing!! We saw Ingapirca, the Amazon, and the volcanoes Tungurahua and Chimborazo. We got to stay in the lovely town of Banos for 2 nights. Banos is a cool laid back town with lots of outdoor activities and waterfalls nearby. We took a swing at the tree house on the hill, took a cable car ride high over the river and saw the waterfall Manto de la Novia, and hiked to the waterfall El Pailon del diablo. The whole time guided by our awesome guia Maria!! She safely drove us around everywhere, and translated for us when needed. We had a blast and saw and did so many amazing things, i can't even write them all down. I would highly recommend Cuenca Best Tours and there staff!!!
My brother, nephew and I just returned from a fantastic 10 day trip to beautiful Ecuador that included Quito, Quilotoa, Cotopaxi, the Amazon at Puyo, Banos, Riobama, Cuenca, and Salinas. Our guide Sebastin E. was just excellent. He shared his great knowledge and enthusiasm with us, and took us many neat physical hikes that balanced our love of nature with our love of Ecuadorian culture and history. Highly recommend Cuenca Bestours and Sesbastin E. Will be using them again!
This is an excellent tour company. Sebastian was there to meet us at the airport upon arrival, even with it being midnight. He guided us very professionally throughout the country. We would travel with Cuencabestours and Sebastian again anytime.
Our trip was absolutely incredible. Everywhere we stayed was great and Sebastian was an excellent guide!
My recent holiday in Ecuador included a 4 day trip from Quito to Cuenca with Cuenca Bestours. It was very well organised to include the best sights and experiences along the way . My guide was Sebastian and he was wonderful. Extremely friendly with perfect English and a wide and varied knowledge of all aspects of Ecuadorian life , culture & history.
We choose the personalised tour. Javier was patient at answering all our queries and catering / customising the tour to our requirements. We did: Quiltoa-Banos-Cotopaxi We had an absolutely good time with our guide (Lincoln)! He was very accommodating, knowledgeable and punctual. Also, he spoke very good English. We learned a lot about the history of the different areas as well as the flora and fauna in the area. Our hikes were very enjoyable as well as we could go at our own pace. The choice of hotels were comfortable and quite interesting. Aside from how interesting the places were, we absolutely loved the flexibility that came with a private tour. Overall, good choice! We'd certainly recommend this tour.
This is an excellent company. The owner is very responsive answering email very quickly and informatively. We were given a fair price. The driver/ guide Sebastian was one of the best we have ever had. He was a safe driver and could answer any question we asked him, as well as chatting about Ecuadorian culture. The hotels on the tour were mostly haciendas, very comfortable with good food. Everything was included in the cost, entrance fees, lunches etc. We ate in several nice restaurants for lunch and my only complaint was that we were offered too much food at times. We used the company for a transfer to the Guayaquil airport on our final day and that driver, Steven was very obliging. I would not hesitate to recommend this company or to use them again.
Lincoln and Genero were great tour guides. They gave us great information and took care of us. It was a great tour!
Cuenca Bestours have truly made our trip to Ecuador unforgettable. From the moment I reached out to Javier, communication has been non stop all through planning phase, during the trip and even after! Javier is very patient and has made sure to accommodate our needs as best he could. The tours were incredible and all the guides were kind and very knowledgeable..overall a truly amazing experience and I highly recommend it…we will never forget it!! Thank you from Malta <3
This trip is highly recommended.Sebastian was informative, fun, really safe driver, flexible&unbelievably accommodating! We had a private car for 3 nights and 4 days- everything was tailored to our needs and wants with the expertise of Sebastian. If we wanted to pull over to see a town, take a picture or even to pee- it was never out of the questions. We had such an amazing time- from all the hiking, eating and different adventures words cannot describe the beauty of this country. All the hotels we stayed in were clean and nice and right in the center of the town- which made walking to places super easy. A must do!!!!
Great 5 day tour from Quito to Guayaquil. Amazing views, thoughtful route. Super engaging guide who loves Ecuador with all his heart, knows everything about this country and every place!!! Great driver and transport! Every day was so intense and magical that I want to definitely repeat this route with them!!! They make you fall in love with this country!!! And they won't leave anyone indifferent!
We did 3 different tours through Cuenca Best Tours: a 3-day/2-night customized tour from Quito to Cuenca, a day tour to Cajas National park, and a tour of the crafts villages in the area near Cuenca on our way to Guayaquil. Sebastian was our tour guide for the tour from Quito to Cuenca. He is absolutely amazing! He is super knowledgeable and engaging, and we had an awesome time hiking the Cotopaxi mountain and touring the Sangay National Park with him. The hotels that the company arranged for us were great. We definitely recommend asking for Sebastian as your guide! Moises was our guide for the tour of the Ingapirca ruins before going to Cuenca. He was very nice and he also gave us a tour of a church on the way to Cuenca and even drove us to the Pumapungo Museum even though it wasn't included in the tour. Adrian was our guide for the hike of Cajas National Park. He is also great! He knows so much about the wildlife and history of the park. He helped us try to see various species of birds and plants during our hikes. Javier is the owner of the company and also a guide. He drove us from Cuenca to Guayaquil with a quick visit to the craft villages on our way. He is also very knowledgeable and an easy person to talk to. He was great at organizing our entire trip and helping us to customize it so we could do whatever we requested. All the included lunches were really delicious meals at local restaurants with authentic tastes of Ecuadorian cuisine. We loved every aspect of our tours!
I highly recommend booking with CBT! They are so professional and friendly. Their knowledge of the area is tremendous and they are really able to accommodate their guests. I did the 4/5 Quito to Cuenca tour. Maria and Javier went above and beyond in making sure I had a good experience. The hotels/haciendas they pick are top notch.
Very nice tour we booked for 2 with Cuenca Best tours via Viator, we found ourselves in a private car wich was very confortable. The guide Sebastian taught us a lot about ecuador, its history, cultures and ways of life, hé adapted himself very well to our level of hiking and did everything he could for us to have the best expérience. The sights and hikes were super nice, the meals were booked in really nice restaurants and food was good and typique. The hostels were also very confortable. Thanks a lot for the tour, we enjoyed ourselves very much. I would add also that this agence can adapt and propose personalized trips for a very resonable rate.
We had Sebastian who spoke excellent English and was well versed in the area and its traditions. He took us places that we would never have found on our own! Our experience with Cuenca Bestour was a wonderful experience starting with Javier our first contact and then with Sebastian who represented the company in the upmost professional manner!!!! We would definitely ask for Sebastian again!!
Wonderful experience, excellent guides, excellent hotels and beautiful tours. I highly recommend it! It is worth it!
We did the 4-day tour from Quito to Cuenca: very well organised, beyond our expectations! A special thank you goes to our guide Sebastian, who made this adventure even more beautiful: we have rarely found such a prepared, professional, punctual and polite guide!
Javier Vallejo Cuenca Bestours Team We accompany you on our walks in the south of Ecuador, you have very good guides After each day I ask how he was, and I help in everything I need.
I spent a full week in Ecuador, from Quito to Cuenca, all well coordinated and have excellent tours!! I recommend Cuenca Bestours
