Neto delivered, without question, the best food tour I’ve ever experienced—and that’s saying a lot. Starting the day with fruit in Quito was nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve traveled extensively, and this was hands down the most incredible fruit tasting experience I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The flavors, the variety, and Neto’s knowledge made it unforgettable. Beyond the food itself, Neto is an exceptional guide and host. His recommendations were spot-on, thoughtful, and clearly tailored with care and expertise. To top it off, he poured fantastic cocktails at his bar, adding yet another layer of fun and authenticity to the experience. What truly sets Neto apart, though, is how far he goes for his guests. A full week after our tour—when we passed back through Quito—he still went out of his way to send us an additional restaurant recommendation. That level of generosity and attention is rare and speaks volumes about who he is. If you’re considering a food tour in Quito, don’t hesitate. Neto is passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making your experience exceptional. This wasn’t just a tour—it was a highlight of our entire trip.
We LOVED our outing with Santiago. We got to try so many delicious foods while hearing about the history and politics of Ecuador and learning more about Quito itself. And getting to see cool street art and murals topped off the day. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed a really wonderful local food and street art tour with Santiago, who was friendly and engaging, and happy to share his knowledge and insights.
We had a fantastic time on this tour. The guide is super friendly and knows so much about the local food scene. We tried a great mix of tasty street eats, and got to hear cool stories about each dish, as well as the history and culture of Quito. We really loved going off the beaten path to unique and local places. This really enhanced the experience! It was not just a “tourist” tour. We even got a recommendation and reservations for an AMAZING dinner after the tour. We highly recommend this tour. If you are interested in the Quito food scene, do not miss this tour.
This tour with Ernesto was one of the highlights of our week in Quito! He took us to several hole-in-the-wall places, heavily frequented by locals. Not only did we get to taste amazing food that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to find, but we got a personal perspective of life in Quito and knowledge about the local/national culture. We especially liked that the tour ended at an artist collective space that highlights contemporary artwork by local artists. My husband had been wanting something that was reflective of local culture but with a modern design—and this was the place for it. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you are curious about the local culture and food and don’t know where to start!
Ernesto was great. His passion for quality of produce in local dishes is evident in the selection of great eateries, fresh juices and locals. The food was amazing and with his chef experience, great advice and information on the way the food is prepared and condiments to use. He has great local knowledge and passion about Quito. Visited some great architectural sites as well. Highly recommended and don’t have breakfast before you go!
Great tour for both an insight on the people and their food. Do not eat too much before the tour as the tasting portions are very generous!
This was a terrific tour! We can't recommend this more highly -- super fun, not your 'usual' city tour, or even food tour, but going to the places where the people who live in Quito go, to eat the food that they eat, all while learning about the city and the people and Ernesto himself. It really was so much more than we could have expected (and yummy too)!
Amazing cultural and local food tasting with Ernesto. A must when visiting Quito. Bring your walking shoes and taste buds.
I really enjoyed this tour. Ernesto, our tour guide, was personable, knowledgeable, and spoke English well. The food was delicious and was representative of the foods of Ecuador. I would highly recommend this tour.
This was a great experience to see the murals, learn about the history behind them, see the Quito most tourists don’t get to see, and try local the gems. I felt super safe and really enjoyed absorbing the knowledge he had to offer. Definitely recommend!
The tour with Ernesto was absolutely perfect for our first day in Quito. Every single bite and drink on this tour was delicious. We are both vegetarian and really appreciated this being taken into consideration. Ernesto was highly knowledgeable on the city and culture and incorporated some art into our tour. I highly recommend this tour!
This tour was everything we wanted for our first day in Quito! Ernesto gave us an amazing experience by bringing us to restaurants and markets that we would have never thought to go to that are mostly eaten at by locals. One of the markets we walked through had people doing metal work, making goods for kitchens among other things by hand! The food was amazing, the background of the city and Ecuador that he provided was excellent, and we got to end the tour in a cool artist collective space. We had an amazing time, thank you so much!
If you want to try something different than the typical touristic sightseeing tours, I would definitely recommend this tour. You visit places just outside of the historic centre and go try some interesting and local foods. The extra information I got about the country was also a nice extra. Thank you!
Excellent walking through the city, exploring colourful places and tasting delicious local bites!! Highly recommended
This is an excellent tour, surprising in both its guide and its food. Ernesto is an absolute pleasure to be around, informative, fun and easy to get along with, the food, true Ecuadorian food, found in small family establishments. Great variety, tastes and experiences. The art also is vivid and varied. A great combination and a great tour.
Cool and fun tour and great food in Quito. Fully recommended. Thanks for a Great morning in places we would never find on our Own
Neto was a superb guide, fun and easy to talk to. Ecuadorian food turned out to be a really nice experience and the people is lovely.
Great walk around Quito. Very informative yet relaxed tour around places I would never find on my own. Ecuadorian food was a surprise in the good way.
I had a great time with Neto,he was really easy to talk to. Everyone on the group was really nice and the food was delicious. 10 starts for price/quality
An incredible experience in Quito! I really enjoyed the food tour, especially because of the great variety of juices and fruits that we were able to try. In fact, that was the main reason why I decided to take the tour. What surprised me the most was that, in addition to the food, our guide showed us the urban art and graffiti of the city. We even visited an alternative space with a punk and leftist culture, full of graffiti. It was something totally unexpected and one of my favorite parts of the tour! I loved discovering this side of Quito, beyond its gastronomy. A very authentic, interesting, and totally recommended experience!
