This was one of my favorite experiences in Quito. Santi is incredibly engaging, artistic, and genuinely passionate about sharing his city. If you’re interested in culture, street art, local stories, and hidden gems, this tour is outstanding. I especially loved exploring La Floresta, discovering the murals and galleries, and ending the evening on the gallery’s rooftop terrace with a beautiful sunset view over the city. It felt authentic, creative, and thoughtfully curated. As for the review saying it wasn’t a food tour—I think they simply didn’t read the tour description. It’s clearly centered around art, culture, and the neighborhood, with regional bites as part of the experience, not a multi-stop foodie crawl. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for something beyond the typical sightseeing itinerary. Santi made the evening memorable.

Pamela's local knowledge of street art and the local food scene was amazing, she took me to some delicious places and we tried some excellent dishes. Highlight was the Corviche!
I enjoyed walking through La floreasta looking at the graffiti and being taken to a shop selling pictures but I don’t appreciate this being a sales pitch. Also tackling it a foodie trip is cutting it a bit fine!! Went to three food cafes all we had was yuca done in three different ways - a sausage and this was based on the tour guides predilections - he loved his food grabbed food , ate quickly questioned my eating, this was certainly not worth the money. And there was only one cocktail which was nice in a cute cafe. And having to wait for Ubers in the pouring rain. And no other attendees only me. It was quite frankly awful!!
We really enjoyed the knowledge of our guide. He introduced the local culture and food to us. We had great evening.
Wonderful evening. Santiago was extremely engaging, knowledgeable and eager to share this special Quito neighborhood. We loved the street murals and gallery visit as well as the delicious regional bites. Santiago’s extensive travel experience reflects a compassion and perspective beyond his years. We highly recommend this tour.
Santiago was a fabulous guide. He explained the history and culture of Ecuador in great detail and ensured we had an understanding of the artistic works in the area. He was knowledgeable and very fun to spend the evening with. The food was incredible as well as the drinks. It was an all around great experience.
The tour of the La Floresta street art was interesting and the food was mostly very good. Indeed, the tamales we had were some of the best. But on the whole, the tour is way overpriced. The total cost of the food could not have been more than $15 per person. We were offered beer or water at the art gallery but no beverages with any of the food. I can't recommend this tour.
Great food and interesting street art. He tailored our meals to our dietary needs (no red meat) and it was fun to eat with the locals without a tourist in sight. My only negative is that it's expensive for 2.5 hours and street food.
Best tour! My husband and I visited Quito on our way to Galapagos for our honeymoon. Santiago hosted us for a great walking, food, art, and cocktail tour. His passion for the city and culture really made an impact on us and we can’t wait to visit again!
Santiago introduced me to delicious local foods in unique locations. We were in the Floresta neighborhood of Quito which is full of great street art. We also visited a fun art gallery. Santiago is very knowledgeable about many subjects. We finished the night with a glass of warm wine, a local custom.
I unexpectedly traveled with my mom via Houston. lol. Upon the meetup, we were hosted by Santi! He was definitely informative, knowledgeable & passionate about his native country of Ecuador. During the tour he took us to several spots in which we enjoyed all the food & learned about local art, politics & culture. I highly recommend this tour & Santi as he will give & provide food for thought!!
Santiago took us on a wonderful journey, starting with a gallery featuring well known and up-and-coming street artists (think Obey, who did the famous blue and red Obama poster which said “Hope.” We then walked through a lively part of the historic district, while he showed us murals and explained the significance, interspersed with delicious traditional food from different sites. He was engaging, interesting, and knowledgeable, and showed us a part of Quito that we would have never found on our own. We loved it, and our teens were thrilled. Thanks, Santiago!

The tour was a good one. Good food, drinks and a really nice gallery. We had a great evening. Perfect start of our trip in Ecuador.
I enjoyed my tour with Santi. At first, I thought I had the wrong tour because he was sharing information about street art and its evolution. I said to myself- am I on the wrong tour? Subsequently, he explained that the food part would be the second half of the tour. I believe it might be a trend as I had just been to Colombia where a friend described a food tour that she went on that ended up being about a lot more than food- where she had learned about the history of the city and a whole lot more. If it is a trend, I am very glad it is. The first part of the tour which included hearing about the evolution of street art, the current political situation, and the link between the two was not only exciting, it added context to the location and the tour. The stop at an art studio/museum might have been my favorite part, but I prefer hanging where locals are. The food stops included places where locals go as well and gave insight into which foods are traditional and/or important to the culture. Santi was fun, informative, patient, and kind. It was an enjoyable way to see the city at night.
Our guide Santiago was excellent. Loved the Street art and history of Quito. The food stops were excellent but the Andean Bubblegum was a bit tough to chew and swallow. lol
Fabolous time With Daniella exploring unexpected gems I would never find on my own. Felt more like a night with friends than a tour Thanks
Amazing tour with lots of art to admire and few to purchase. Food was awesome getting to see a different part of Quito Pamela was awesome and even gave a few suggestions to check out in the area I stayed at.
Santi was so friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning about the different artists and seeing the murals throughout the city. We loved all the food that we had during the tour. The atmosphere and cocktails at the last stop were fantastic. Santi answers all your questions and knows the best spots for food. I highly recommend!
After the recent security problems in Ecuador we were nervous about going out alone at night. This tour gave us a chance to explore Quito safely. We saw lots of street art, visited a small gallery and had 3 food stops before enjoying cocktails at a great bar. Santiago was very knowledgeable and a great host. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and the tour.
Loved the street food. Restaurants were authentic and yummy. Enjoyed walking around the Quito neighborhood.
My wife and I had a great time touring the area with Santiago. We were able to try the best street food without worrying about running for the toilet. The art studio he took us to was fantastic, and the local artists were very accomodating. Highly recommend.
The street art and artist studio visit were incredible! I’m so in love with all the wonderful artists works I saw. The food was SO delicious. Natalia our guide was perfect - she taught us so much and was great fun. Flawless experience, a must-do for art lovers.
What a great introduction to my first time in Quito! Daniella was very informative and enthusiastic about the art and food life in Quito. I was the only one on the tour and she made me feel very comfortable. I met so many lovely people and ate some really delicious authentic food. I opted for the hotel pick up and return, which Daniella used to provide extra insights to the different parts of the city.
Natalia was a fantastic guide! We had so much fun and we were full of food and drink. The artists workshop and gallery she took us to was also fantastic. Loved this tour!
We spent 2 weeks in Ecuador and this tour was the highlight of our trip. We met Santiago at the designated location and he took us on an incredibly interesting and educational tour of street art and street food in a neighborhood we never would have otherwise explored. We also visited a small gallery and met the artist who kindly signed some pieces with custom notes. The food was plentiful - and delicious. We stopped into one family restaurant for tamales and grilled meats, moved to another for a delicious munchine (yuca stuffed with cheese that simply melts in your mouth). Next, we went to the park and explored the various food carts. The empanadas de viendo were life changing! Finally, we ended up at a cool bohemian bar/restaurant for an evening cocktail before our guide found us a taxi and made sure we were safely on our way to our hotel. This tour and tour guide are highly recommended!!!!!
highly recommend this tour. i had the pleasure of going on the tour with all four guides. its safe to say any one of them will give you a great experiance.
This food, art and drinks tour was our first tour on our Quito vacation and what a way to start our time there. Our guide Santi was an awesome person to have show us around the la forestal neighborhood. We visited small restaurants, street food vendors and ended our night at a local speakeasy and had hot wine to conclude the night. Not to mention a stop at a local independent art gallery. Completely recommend, thank you Santi for a very enjoyable evening tours like this are why we travel.
Fantastic tour. Very informative and we had a very passionate guide, very interesting background of Quito and La Floresta. Plenty of delicious food stops and heaps of street are to look at. Would recommend!
We really loved our guide, Santiago, who was knowledgeable and open about art, politics, culture, and food. However, this particular tour was not worth it (almost $250 for two people including taxes and hotel pickup/dropoff). There were limited food choices, as it seems many vendors operate more during the day. We also weren’t really offered a variety of food and almost everything we had was fried. Would probably recommend another food tour during the day. The last stop was a cool bar with a great vibe, but we were rushed to finish and would have rather had the option to hang out. They advertise 3-4 hours but we were done in about 2:45.
Santi was a great tour guide. He had so much knowledge to share about culture, art and cuisine. As well as enjoying incredible Ecuadorian street food we got to see many mural paintings and experience the vibrant arts community. We would take this tour again in a heartbeat!
Santi was a terrific guide and was able to show us several important pieces of local street art and murals. He also curated a fantastic collection of local dishes that were a good representation of what Ecuadorians (and Quitanians in particular) enjoy. I would highly recommend this tour.
Wonderful tour!! Our guide was very personable and fun to hang out with for the night. We had awesome food, drinks, and saw a lot of beautiful art. Definitely recommend!
This tour has a definite focus on street art and grass roots movements. Santiago was a fantastic guide, pushing us out of our comfort zone and showing us around the beautiful La Floresta neighborhood. If you don’t like street art, probably not for you. Good quantity of food and drink.
Great tour guide. Very friendly. Answered all our questions and more. Interesting tour of street art
Daniella was a charming guide for our tour. We loved the locations she took us to, we would not have found these by ourselves. There was plenty of food to enjoy. We would absolutely recommend this tour, a great way to learn more about Quito. Thank you, Daniella!
I had a great time touring and tasting local Quito good and drink with guide Santi Diaz! Not only was the food and local drinks delicious, Santi walked me from place to place and shared his local neighborhood knowledge and and Quito expertise. Thank you Santi and Bondabu! I had a great time and recommend Santi as a guide 100%. Friendly, knowledgeable, great conversationalist and flexible!
I thoroughly enjoyed my street food tour. The night started with a warm drink and ended with dessert and a craft beer. In between was plenty of food tastings of typical Ecuadorian food. I did as a solo and had my own guide. We had good conversation and he was very willing to answer all my questions about life in Ecuador. I am sorry I can't remember his name but he was outstanding and I enjoyed learning about him.
Daniella was a fantastic guide! she took us to 3 neighborhoods that we would never think of visiting otherwise, where she exposed us to street food that was unique, interesting, and delicious. We loved interacting with the cooks standing on the sidewalk working on their delicious offerings. We also loved the terrace bar in Guapulo with great views of the neighborhood. We do food tours in every city we go to. This was certainly the best one we have had!
I usually try to book our food tours towards the beginning of a trip to get the lay of the land and ideas for future meals, but as Quito was at the tail end of our Galapagos trip, it had to wait until the last night. Unfortunately, my husband was feeling under the weather and so I reached out in the morning to make sure that there were other guests, to make it worth the guide’s time if he was unable to attend. The owner assured me that there was another guest and my husband decided to come, knowing that it was a short Uber ride home if he couldn’t stay for the whole thing. We met up with Daniella and sadly the other guest scheduled to join us was a no-show. It was quite a walk to the first stop where we had the first of 2 alcoholic beverages, which acted as the bookends of the tour. It was a warm, festive drink at a super cute restaurant, which made for an auspicious beginning but then the long, somewhat uphill walk to the next town and stops got the better of my husband and he went home before getting any food although Daniella did offer to get him something to take home. I enjoyed the next few stops which included skewers (a bit chewy), chicken gizzards (an acquired taste), and two delicious sorts of empanadas. I didn’t have much of an appetite, and I’m sure that it might’ve been different if more people had been on the tour, but I found this to be a little more of a tasting tour than a filling one. There was never any pressure to eat everything, but if everything wasn’t to your taste, you might not quite get enough to serve as a full meal. I’m sure if I had asked for more of the cheese empanadas, which were my favorite and the most filling, Daniella would’ve happily obliged, but not knowing what was coming next, I didn’t want to fill up on one thing. In retrospect, I wish I’d gotten a few takeaway things for my husband. The last food stop was a kind of food court, where I tried a tripe sample, which had great flavor, but it’s never something I can manage to eat much of, and didn’t really count toward the meal/tour. She gave me the option of trying a thick seasonal drink or a ‘wind empanada,’ and I figured I’d go with the drink since it’s not always available. It was okay, but heavy so I didn’t manage to finish that either. Finally, we ended with a beer where I opted for a smaller glass than what was offered, because I didn’t want to be wasteful and knew I couldn’t finish the double pints it looked like they were serving. Throughout the tour, I enjoyed talking to Daniella. She was super personable and made it about the culture and food, but also Quito and Ecuador in general. Seeing the street food scene and having someone help me navigate it was great. The only reason that I give this 4 instead of 5 stars is the value. When tours involve stops where space has to be reserved or food preordered, I allow for a slightly higher cost, but as this was relatively inexpensive street food paid for as we went along, and might not even be enough to constitute a whole meal for some (again, I didn’t leave hungry, and I didn’t ask for more, I’m just comparing it to other 50+ food tours I’ve done), the $80pp cost seems a bit high. Would I do another Bondabu tour though? Absolutely.
We really enjoyed Daniella and she was very knowledgeable. We tried some local drinks and some crazy local food! Walked the streets of Quito and got lots of history. As much as we liked the guide and the experience we felt it was not a good value!
Daniella was knowledgeable and personable! If you have difficulties walking or vision in the dark though, let her know ahead of time so she can be prepared with transportation as the streets and the many many stairs can at times be very steep, precarious and dangerous if you are not paying attention, if it is raining, or if you are affected by the altitude. Also, almost all of the tastes and drinks are not at the same time, so bring a bottle of water or something to drink as in several places you have only food and no drink and vice versa. Be prepared to stand while eating and drinking too, except for the 1st and last stop unless there is room inside the very small eateries. Food quality is very good but definitely street food so do not expect large plates of food or a sit down dinner experience. Don't worry though, you will not be hungry if you eat everything! My friends and I all tried food/drinks we had never had before with Daniella's encouragement so that was a good experience in Quito
Daniella was superb, she created a fun memorable experience. We enjoyed her knowledge and personality immensely.
Daniella was fantastic. She explained everything very well. She gave us choices. Her english is perfect. When we asked her a question that she did not know the answer to she quickly looked it up on her phone.
Daniella was great. Was on time. Made it a fun experience. Very knowledgeable about Quito and local flavor. Highly recommended.
Beautiful views, good local food and Daniella was a great guide and great company. Recommend this tour
Good experience with Nico and Ernesto. They found locations which were open on Sunday’s; this is very hard to do on Sundays in Catholic heavy Quito. Plan to bring a big appetite as there will be plenty of food and pace yourself.
We were in a small 3-person group with Nicolas our guide. Young man who has lived in Quito for all of his life and his love for his city and country showed in every conversation!! Stops included "mulled wine", meats/veggies on a stick (pinchos), quimbollito/tamal/humita, tripe, empanadas, juices, beers and then ending up at a former speakeasy now ultra low key cool bar with open air dancing!!! This tour tests your ability to walk a bit (harder due to altitude) but like in most tours of this type, the guide makes/breaks the experience. Nicolas is an asset and even helped us out with some recs closer to our hotel for ceviche on a different day!
A wonderful way to discover the best parts of Quito and eat authentic, delicious food that only locals know about. Our guide Nico was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and knows so much about Quito food and drink culture.
My group of 6 friends did this tour (booked on Viator) yesterday. Overall we liked the tour guide Jose, he had a good personality. But due to value, food chosen, and hiccups made by him, we would not recommend this tour. First issue is the driver came to our hotel looking for another couple. He left when the hotel reception told him “Brinn” isn’t staying at the hotel. Apparently, Brinn is another couple who booked this tour but were staying at another hotel. By the time they figured out the mistake, we started the tour 45 minutes late. Instead of being cognizant of this, Jose started the tour with a 45 minute, long winded conversation about the center of the world. This tour is called “Street Food with Drinks.” This is an exaggeration- we had “drink” (singular) and no street food. We went to a bar and had a local cocktail (very tasty). Went to a hole in the wall and had a tamale, chicken gizzards and an empanada. Finally, went to a cafe and had an herbal tea. Overall, it was about $60 worth of food for our group and it $462 ($77 a person). And the food was forgettable. Maybe the pandemic has made the street food tour less than ideal. It is a fact that many places have shut down since last year. But perhaps the tour should be put on hold until the situation in Quito improves.
