Quito has the best-conserved historic center in Latin American. This day trip includes the visit to the Old part of Quito such squares, churches, old streets etc. The first stop will be at Basilica Church from where you will have a beautiful view of The Colonial Center of Quito. After walking through the colonial streets, you will then stop at the Independence Plaza to admire the Cathedral and the Government's Palace. The Cathedral, Compañia church very well known as the Gold Church, Church of Sagrario and San Francisco. Finally, head to the most famous hill in Quito, Panecillo viewpoint, where you'll notice the contrast between colonial and modern city.
In the afternoon we continue to the middle of the world where we have the opportunity to visit Intiñan museum just 200 meters north of the Mitad del Mundo monument, here is the actual "Middle of the World” marked. This museum showcases what modern-day GPS has proven to be the true site of the equator line. Afternoon finally back to the hotel.
A very educational day. Our guide shared a lot of history about the French Geodesic Mission and why this spot is so important to Ecuador. We also had a great lunch at a local spot nearby,the traditional food was delicious.
Daysi picked me up from the airport, took me to an amazing breakfast place, to Intinan museum which is the Real ecuator not Mitad, enroute picked up a fruit which I had mentioned we also had in India and was my favourite fruit while I had dozed off, took me to Puhlulahua crater where she actually used to be an intern, then to the teleferico where she bought me a coca tea while I was in the loo because she saw me struggle with the altitude, took me to multiple shops to get the esim I needed, then took me around the old city, drove me around than walk because I was tired, when we got delayed due to traffic jams and parking issue, and told me that since it's late in the evening, if there was any trouble, that she would fight while I should run for it. Nothing happened of course. But she went above and beyond, she was a friend not just a tour guide. It's rare to see someone doing the job they exactly were born and trained for.
This trip was so much above and beyond! Christian, our guide, shares his passion for his country, its history, and rich culture in a way that is personal and meaningful. His knowledge, humor, and flexibility made this experience a trip of a lifetime. I cannot recommend this high enough! Excellent excellent excellent!

Highly recommend this tour - great communication, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, and all around amazing experience and perfect for a single day in Quito. Booked this tour at the very last minute (7am!) for the same day, and had a response by 7:45am. My tour guide Raul met me at my hotel front door right at 9am. Raul was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable, and had so much information about the history of Quito and Ecuador. He was flexible with timing, and happy to point out a few free extra things we happened to walk by and see were open. The tour was not rushed at all, and Raul was a perfect host! We met up with Elias our driver to get to Mitad del Mundo, and he was friendly and a considerate driver. Raul wasn’t able to accompany me to that part of the tour, but he gave great recommendations and instructions on what to do and see there, and it was very easy to follow. Elias waited while I toured the monument and then brought me safely back to my hotel. It was a great day, and I truly felt taken care of on this tour. Once again, highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic guided tour with great local recommendations.

We can’t recommend Ecuador Local Guide enough! Working with Christian was great - quick communication, extremely professional and very accommodating. We booked a tour of Quito on a whim to explore the city between our travels from the US to the Galapagos. We had a full day with Rodrigo who was wonderful! After picking us up at our hotel we started off to the Center of The World and toured the museum which was extremely interesting and we highly recommend! Rodrigo then took us to experience some of the best of Quito. We went to one of the markets where he pointed out local fruits, many of which we had never seen/tried before and then got a few for us to sample. Our favorite was the passion fruit! After the market we grabbed lunch at a great spot in Old Town where Rodrigo pointed out all the best Ecuadorian dishes and our food was delicious. After lunch we strolled through Old Town and visited the beautiful churches before returning to our hotel. Rodrigo was extremely knowledgeable about the country and answered all of our questions and taught us so much about the country. We loved our tour with Ecuador Local Guide so much we booked another on our return as well as an airport transfer.
I recently was on a trip to Quito, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. It was an amazing trip, one which I will cherish. Communication with Cristian was very easy, he replies in a very timely manner, answers all the questions and he gives suggestions too. Our group came from different places and some were delayed. Cristian was kind enough and very flexible to accomodate changes to our itinerary. He was very considerate in making sure that we get enough rest but were still able to visit a lot of places.
