We had booked through our tour operator and met at Hilton Colon. We were received by Nathaly Durand and she was absolutely wonderful. We visited many locations from 8-5 including a few churches like the basilica. We did a chocolate tasting tour as well who can was amazing! We had lunch at a very nice restaurant and then headed to the equator line which was an experience of its own. Natalie made sure we were all together and was very knowledgeable of everything!
A fun adventure through Quito in the morning and the Equator line I. The afternoon. Felipe was a wonderful guide and very willing to accommodate what our group wanted to do. Highly recommend!
Amazing tour guide! Awesome information! Great all around!
A brilliant day in Quito! My guide Alejandro was great - friendly and had a lot of knowledge. Really worthwhile booking it.
Fantastic! Highly recommend to see the top spots in Quito. Very flexible.
It was a wonderful day full of interesting sites and information about the history of Quito and Ecuador. Our guide was outstanding and the driver was also great.
I was on the ‘Quito city tour and Equator line’ tour, with our amazing guide Nathaly, who was very knowledgable about Quito and Ecuador, past history and present. Nathaly was very friendly, helpful and happy to answer any of my questions. The tour included visiting all the key places of interest in Quito Old Town and at the Equator Line, and a nice lunch, in a great restaurant full of character, too. The tour was all at an unrushed pace, with plenty of opportunities for photos. Great communication before the trip, confirming time and pickup location. I would thoroughly recommend this tour, and | learnt and saw so much, with my amazing, friendly and smiley guide.
Where do I start. We have had some excellent guides in South America... This one worked on behalf of GAdventures, and was very poor. Which is sad, because we have just completed a Galapagos tour with G Adventures with a guide that was excellent. A general opinion of this guide called Philippe was not good, he was constantly on his phone, so never gave you his full attention and because of this, although he seemed knowledgeable, it felt half hearted from him. We enjoyed what we did on the tour, the Yumbos chocolate tour was good, very professional, gorgeous chocolate and flavours. We did not go into the churches, which was our choice, but looked interesting. The Ecuador.. Centre of the world equator tour with their guide was great at $5 per person. We did not really have a choice for lunch as the guide gave us a menu on his phone for a place called Fiambres, the guide never appeared to pay for his food, so I think it was his mate. We also felt pressure to buy throughout the day by the guide and there was not really anything included in the price of the tour and spent much more money than we thought we would because of this. If you needed to go into the churches as well as other fees, I think you will need at least $100 per couple as we spent almost that, giving us a simple meal, two bars of chocolate and a small gift each.
The tour was fantastic. The guide was courteous, knowledgeable, and accommodating to everyone in the tour.
Felipe was a fantastic guide showing my wife and I around Quito and taking us to the centre of the world monument.
Our guide Lincoln was friendly and knowledgeable and made the whole day very enjoyable
Fantastic experience. It was only the 2 of us and we could completely tailor make our plan. Very knowledgeable and kind guide, would 100% recommend this tour. He also took us to a market we had been wanting to go to that was not in the itinerary because it was only us 2! Loved the equator and all the experiments you do there.
Nice tour to get an overview of Quito city centre and midad do Mundo.
Felipe was awesome and very knowledgeable! We had an excellent tour and day in Quito - could not have been a better way to spend our limited time in Quito!
This was a great tour! Felipe was amazing, giving us tons of information and tailoring the tour to our needs. I highly recommend this tour!
Absolutely worth the time and money. Great tour! Thank you Rodney — your energy and knowledge made the experience unforgettable!
Rodney was a superb guide. His knowledge was faultless. Good sense of humour and easy going Would certainly recommend his services
Wonderful day learning about Quito, Ecuador and the Equator. Rodney was an amazing guide and Patricio, our driver, did outstanding. They planned out a spectacular time schedule for us and the photos he helped us get were fantastic. We were a bit jet lagged from flying in late the night before the tour but had an amazing experience. We would highly recommend the tour and especially Rodney!
I had a great day exploring the city of Quito with tour guide Nathaly and driver Oswaldo. We stopped at many places including Pululahua geobotanical preserve, Intinan equator park (lots of interesting information learned here!), a walking tour of the old part of the city including stops to view the inside of a couple of basilicas, as well as stops for lunch and a chocolate treat. We finished our tour with a stop to see the statue of the Virgin of El Panecillo where we had a great view overlooking the old city. I highly recommend this tour and appreciated the knowldege and friendliness of our tour guide, Nathaly, and the driving skills of Oswaldo. Nathaly took a group video and pictures that she shared with the group at the end of the tour which added a nice touch. Gracias!
I am so glad I took the one day City Tour and Equator Line with Lincoln. He is an ideal guide with flawless English. We visited a volcanic crater where amazingly we saw a fertile bowl with working farms. Then on to the Equator for science and also fun and games Finally we returned to the city to visit basilicas and major city sights. Lincoln brought the city to life with cultural insights and historical perspective. If you only take one tour, take this one
went on a solo trip to quito and did the city-equator line tour. it was fabulous! stunning view points, a jam packed day versed with in depth history of quito. our tour guide alejandro was so fun, knowledgeable, and made our experience comfortable immersive and catered to our wants/needs. highly recommend!
We had the absolute best day exploring Quito and its surroundings with Alejandro as our guide. From start to finish, he made the experience unforgettable—his great sense of humour, depth of knowledge, and professionalism stood out, and as we were lucky enough to be the only 2 people in the group that day, he truly made us feel like we were touring with a friend rather than just a guide. Our first stop was the Basilica del Voto Nacional, where we admired the stunning architecture and unique gargoyles depicting Amazonian and Galapagos animals—such a cool detail! We then visited the Virgen del Panecillo, where we enjoyed panoramic views of the city. For just $1 USD, we climbed up inside the monument for even better vistas. Next, we headed to Pululahua, where we got lucky—the clouds parted just in time for us to see a breathtaking view of the volcanic crater. We hiked a little way down to get an even better perspective, though the altitude made it tricky to go too far (the climb back up is no joke!). For lunch, we stopped at a charming empanada restaurant. The cheese and pineapple empanada was delicious, though it’s worth noting there weren’t any vegan options. The final stop was hands-down the highlight—the Equator Museum. It was, without a doubt, the best $5 USD per person we’ve ever spent! We got to walk along the equator line, stand with one foot in each hemisphere, balance an egg, and even see how water funnels differently on each side of the equator (and directly on it!). As if that wasn’t enough, Alejo surprised us with a private tour to learn about Ecuadorian chocolate production. We sampled fresh cacao fruit and even got to buy some chocolate to take home—a perfect ending to an already incredible day. If you’re in Quito, I can’t recommend this tour enough—and Alejo made it all the more special. A must-do experience!
This tour covers a lot of ground in only one day but it’s so worth it. From starting at the Basilica to finishing at the equator (official one and unofficial one), Alejandro was a fantastic leader through the day. I was in a small group of 5 but made friends with them and Alejandro. His wit and eduction of his country and places we visited or passed by were appreciated. I had a limited amount of time in Quito, and thankfully this tour captured so much from one side of the city to the next. I learned a lot and was comfortable all day. It was also a nice surprise to unexpectedly run into Alejandro the next day on the way to Otavalo. Take advantage of this full day tour if you have the opportunity!
I really enjoyed the variety of activities on this trip. Our guide Nathaly provided a lot of information about each of our stops.
This was a super packed day and I was late! But the tour was kind enough to pick me up from my hotel and we were off! Saw multiple elegantly designed churches, Virgin De El Panecillo, the Equator Line, Tunnels, beautiful art and a bunch of other things. All of this was accompanied by historical stores wonderfully told by Nathaly and Sarah Ye. Carlos was our bus driver and he did an amazing job getting through all the corners narrow pathways of the city. The team always tried their best to keep us all together and ensure we didn't leave anything behind. Would recommend to anyone who wants a full day of sightseeing!
Alejandro (guide) and Oswaldo (driver) were fantastic! They gave us lots of options to visit/do throughout the day tour, which lasted around 8 hours.
Very enthusiastic and informed guide, the tour was super interesting. Everything was done in a realistic time frame. It was lovely
We had a lovely tour with Alejandro to the of the old city of Quito and the equator. At each place we visited we were given lots of good information.
Just back from Equador where we had a wonderful day touring Quito’s historic old town and visiting the equator line with Nathaly Durand. She was very friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and able to explain the history and culture of her city as we visited each site. She took us to a local restaurant for lunch and artisan gift shops as well as visiting the key sights in the old town. The outdoor equator museum was really enjoyable with a great mixture of history, culture and hands on experiments which were great fun.
One of the highlights of my Ecuador trip was this tour! Not only was the group a fun bunch but our guide, Nathaly Durand, made the day feel authentic and special. Her positive energy kept us engaged and excited throughout the tour. I highly recommend, and I look forward to coming back to Ecuador to explore the places I didn't get a chance to visit this time!
Not only did we visit the Historic District of Quito which included so much more than we had anticipated but we also traveled outside of Quito to visit the Equator, and the most interesting to me, was Pululahua Crater, a dormant volcano, where a village has been built and continues to be inhabited. Nataly, our guide was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and interesting as well as having a great sense humor! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Quito!
Nathaly was an amazing guide - sharing her knowledge and love of Ecuador with all of us. We saw so much in one day - chocolate production, and tasting!, churches, Old town, equator museum - spectacular!- and more.
