Papallacta Thermals Pools Private Day Trip From Quito

This tour was more than time spent at the beautiful thermal pools...after our visit to the pools my family of 10 (ages 10-72yrs) had the unique opportunity to learn to make empanadas with Cristian's family and neighbors. What a fun and delicious experience. The family home is beautiful with views and a pet llama. Cristian Umaguinga, tour owner, quickly replied to all my many questions, helped me with the planning of the day and provided my family with hotel pick-up and drop-off. Our guide Javier was engaging, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. This was a highlight of our 9 days exploring Ecuador and the Galapagos. Fun for all and seamless! Highly recommend this company for any adventure you would like to create.

There is nothing like soaking in hot volcanic waters while surrounded by the misty mountains of Pichincha. A beautifully organized private tour that felt like luxury from start to finish.

Didn’t think sitting in water for hours would be this enjoyable… but it really was. Time passes differently there. You think you’ve been in for 20 minutes, but it’s been hours. It’s relaxing without being boring, which is rare.

This was an excellent tour! Cristian was a very knowledgeable guide and shared great information during both the drive and nature walk. The hot springs were very lovely. I definitely recommend visits the spa side of the facilities and booking a treatment. The whole vibe is very relaxing and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful mountains.

This service was great, so accommodating to our needs, and the guide was friendly and informative. I knew I needed a private tour because we had some timing issues and I didn't think I could make an 8:00 tour. So we spoke on the phone and basically I was able to get the trip of my dreams, that started when I wanted and ended when I wanted. What's not to love? He also offered us the option of either just a driver or a guide. As I understand that the driver may not speak English but it's less expensive so if you're just looking to go do something and just get a ride they'll wait for you and bring you back. We went to the hot springs and it was great.

The pools were fantastive. Well worth spending time there. Our guide was wonderful. Adapted to our knowledge and experiences we had already in/on Ecuador. We learning any new things that added to our experience in Ecuador and learning of its people.

Papallacta was a wonderful experience! We really enjoyed our day trip from Quito to the mountains. We opted for the spa area which costs an additional $25 per person, but it was worth it. The hot springs were relaxing in a beautiful jungle setting. We ate lunch at the on-site restaurant, and the food was exceptional. We also splurged on massages to round out our day, and the massage therapists did an amazing job. Every part of the day was perfect. Our guide for the day was Rodney, who I highly recommend! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, nature, and Ecuador in general. He was able to answer every question we had and he seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. He made a point to stop the car multiple times during the journey to let us capture photos of beautiful scenery, including Antisana volcano. He was one of the best guides we had during our 11 days in Ecuador!

The private trip included transportation to and from our hotel to the spa. It was worth the cost because we had to be picked up at one hotel, taken back to pick up laundry and then taken to our next hotel. If it had been hotel to hotel I would have thought it was $$$.

Super friendly guide and driver. Guide gave us lots of information on Ecuador and answered all our questions. Tailored the trip to meet our needs as we were getting over jet lag. Hot springs are well equipped for changing, showers etc and spotlessly clean.

The day trip to Papallacta was fantastic. The van was extremely comfortable and clean. Our guide took us on a wonderful hike on the property and pointed out all kinds of fauna, flora, and wildlife. Although only about a 45 minute hike, it was one of our favorite of our entire trip. The hot springs are fantastic and relaxing, and the restaurants on the property had top notch service and food. This tour is priced very well and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a stress free way to the hot springs.

Fabulous day with perfect weather. We stopped to take pictures of the Volcano that is normally in the clouds. Our guide took us on a nice short hike on arrival at Thermas Papallacta. We checked in and scheduled a spa treatment for later in the afternoon, had a delicious lunch. Tried all the thermal pools and ended the day with a massage. Our very knowledgeable and informative guide gave us great info on the dude up and back. We loved it so much we went back and stayed overnight and ended the pools and beautiful grounds. Best place ever don’t miss it!

We had such an amazing time! First, we booked very last minute on a Saturday morning, and were expecting to have the booking to be rejected because we were so late. Not only did the company respond quickly to confirm, they also let us know that all of their guides were booked for the day, but they would be happy to book us with a driver who would help as much as he could if we were still interested. Our driver, Luis, could not have been nicer and more accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day, still lead us on the hike, and happily spoke Spanish with us even though our Spanish is not very good haha. It was just a very kind gesture to accompany us and try his best, and we really enjoyed his company. The hot springs were beautiful, clean, and relaxing. The restaurant was very good, too! We needed a day of relaxation and this was perfect. Thank you, Luis!

We had a clear day and arrived early so the pools were not busy. This is the best thermal pools we have been to visit. We have done thermal pools all over the world.

Our driver Danilo was prompt to meet us at our hotel and communication with the company was very good. He was a safe driver and had all sorts of good information and knowledge as we chatted along the drive. The scenery during the drive was beautiful. He stopped for breaks as needed. The resort seemed very nice as were the thermal pools. I enjoyed a very well done, relaxing and inexpensive spa treatment as well while my husband hiked again along the nature trails. Nothing can beat sitting in a thermal pool with greenery and beautiful volcano scenery all around us. It was a memorable experience during our short visit to Ecuador. Highly recommended!!!

Had a great experience! Just my friend, myself and Cristian. I got sick in the car ride and Cristian was so nice and helpful! The spa hot springs and spa were great! Wine wrap was amazing.

Not sure if a tour guide is needed😐. We would have been fine with just the transfer back and forth and save a lot of money. Termas was great - nice lunch, very hot thermal pools with great vistas surrounding, and pretty good massage (don’t expect a super deep massage).

Cristian Umaquinga is the best guide ever! I brought a group of students from Kansas City Missouri USA and Cristian personalized the trip to accommodate all our wishes.

The grounds are beautiful and the different pools are so relaxing. Spending the day at the spa is so affordable, highly recommended

Excellent experience. A wonderful place for a relaxation in thermal pools in the middle of the Andes. Our driver and guide Christian, who is the owner of the company, was sensational, not letting us miss anything. Excellent. I recommend.
