This was an action packed day and we were not rushed at any point. We made the most of all the activities and it was amazing hand feeding hummingbirds and we actually saw toucans after the zip lining! Jose was really friendly and made sure we had an amazing day. I would highly recommend this trip.

We had a wonderful experience exploring the Mindo Cloud Forest with Jose as our guide. We were honestly pretty tired going into the day after doing Cotopaxi, but from the moment Jose picked us up, his energy completely changed the tone. He was warm, funny, sociable, and immediately made us feel like we were in for a great day. We started with a traditional Ecuadorian breakfast in a beautiful location, then visited a hummingbird sanctuary, which became one of our favorite experiences of the entire trip. After that, we hiked through the cloud forest and visited five different waterfalls, with the chance to swim in some of them. We also did the cable car, a bit of ziplining, and finished with a chocolate tour where we learned more about how chocolate is made in Ecuador. Jose truly made the trip for us. He shared so much interesting information along the way, kept us engaged the entire time, and brought the kind of positive energy that made the day feel exciting instead of exhausting. Without him, we probably would have been too tired to fully enjoy everything, but we left feeling refreshed, happy, and grateful for such a full and memorable experience. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you want to fit a lot into one day while still feeling taken care of by a great guide.

Everything was perfect! Communication was great, we loved the hummingbirds, our hike in the cloud forest was lovely and the waterfall was amazing. We also loved stopping at the chocolate shop. Highly recommend Jorge and Footprints Journey! Thank you for a wonderful day.

The guide arrived on time . He was very knowledgeable . He told us all about Mindo.. He helped us down the stairs and on and off the cable car. He gave us recommendations on where to eat good steak and Equadorian food. We enjoyed the traditional Equadorian breakfast. We were amazed at seeing so many humming birds and being able to have a hummingbird land on my hand. The butterfly sanctuary was also wonderful with so many beautiful species flying around. We were able to have a beautiful view on the cable car ride. Yumbos chocolates were delicious. Enjoyed sampling all the flavors.

I absolutely loved this tour, from the flexibility of the activities, through the friendliness, it was a great experience. I was so impressed with the variety of birds we saw, the change of scenery when reaching the amazonian type wilderness and the warmth of the people around us. I chose the chcolate optional and the small hike to the waterfall. (Around 100 metres of elevation up and down). The choice of chocolate was amazing and the tour on site very interesting. I cannot miss mentioning Jorge who's engaging conversation kept me awake even despite the 2 hour journey which is a feat that not many can manage. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Our experience with Jose as our guide was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about his country and Mindo and spoke English well which was helpful for our group of three. We started at the hummingbird experience which we found to be magical! The waterfall hike was beautiful and took about two hours. We also chose the 3 zip line activity nearby which we enjoyed even in the rain! Finally we visited Yumba’s Chocalate store. We learned about the process of making chocolate and got to taste a variety of flavors. I highly recommend this tour!

The tour itself and venues visited were awesome. The guide was not very knowledgeable and did not accompany on the hike to the waterfalls.

If you are visiting Quito, this tour is a must!! Jose was such an amazing guide, super knowledgeable and a fantastic conversationalist. From the ride to Mindo and back we had great discussions and he went into great detail about the Mindo region and Ecuador itself. As for the tour itself, I experienced things I had never seen in my life. The hummingbirds, the massive butterflies, walking through the cloud forest to get to hidden waterfalls, ziplining and much much more. There are many other additional add-ons that you can choose from which make this a very customizable experience. Keep up the fantastic work you do and I truly appreciated the effort put into this excursion.

Jose was amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable - he spent the day explaining Ecuador, his life, and Mindo. We had a wonderful time talking to him all day and he drove us to all the spots well. The hummingbird sanctuary was amazing and the butterfly sanctuary as well. I highly recommend the chocolate tour afterwards. The hike was hilly, but well worth it!

Jose was our private guide and completely made our experience one to remember. Hotel pickup followed by a large ecuadorian breakfast (and coffee if you like!) then really the day is up to you! We stopped at a humming bird sanctuary and then a butterfly sanctuary before heading into Mindo Cloud Forest proper. Once there we treked to several waterfalls before it was time to head back!! Then some zip lining before heading to Yumbos Chocolate for a private chocolate experience. All while having great and informative conversations with Jose!

really nice tour the breakfast place food and view were both great. The hummingbirds were so active and pretty and even came to drink from our hands a view times! We also really enjoyed the hike. It was challenging enough and the waterfalls were really pretty as well. We skipped the zip line due to rain, but the cable car made up for it with similar views. Lastly, the chocolate factory was very informative and honestly some of the best chocolate I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend trying the brownie. Jose was also great, very nice and knowledgeable

A great trip. The Hummingbird sanctuary was great. Thrill to see them up close and drinking right out of your hand. The hike to the 5 waterfalls was a good trek. It is not an easy hike but definitely enjoyable. Water was chilly but refreshing. Cable car over had fabulous views. Our guide Jose was great. Good conversation and very flexible in the itinerary.

Jose is a most knowledgeable and friendly guide, and his tour is fantastic. He shaped our day together around our interests and made sure we were comfortable with all our options. We packed a lot in during our day, and Jose never rushed us. We got to see so much of Mindo and all the special places and people to enjoy this day of exploration. Our tour guide arranged experiences based on our wants and what would work best for us. Started with a breakfast in a cloud Forrest and traditional Ecuadorian food (our allergies were taken into an account), then feeding hummingbirds, ziplining, etc. we skipped a waterfall hike as it was raining and also having older grandparent, but we went to a chocolate factory and had great time! Our tour guide and driver was amazing in ensuring we were comfortable and also taking stops a long the way to take pictures. Highly recommend this tour and especially booking with footprint journeys!

We had a wonderful time w Jose. He was fantastic. He picked us up right at the door. Hand feeding hummingbirds was amazing. The trip was beautiful and curated just for us. You will not regret booking this tour. It was unique, beautiful and it was the best tour I have booked so far. Jose was my guide, he was knowledgeable and we discussed the culture and beauty of Quito and surrounding area. I wish I’d met him before my trip here, he gave me so many recommendations that I will have to come back. The Hummingbirds were incredible I didn’t want to leave. Then the butterflies was a nice place to sit, watch and relax, followed by the cable car (amazing) and hike which I did to the third waterfall and went in for a swim. It was a long day with convenience stops on the way that Jose made. Jose also recorded I do the zip lining (canopy)… blew me away! Such beauty, so glad I did it. 10/10 would recommend and will come back to do all this. Thank you Jose!!!

We had a great day with Jose. After an Ecuadorian breakfast and fee ding hummingbirds and butterflies, we travelled to the rainforest for a sky ride and intense waterfall hike. It wasn't easy, but it was beautiful. We did trail #3 and at a quick pace without swimming, it took us 90 minutes. Take water and expect to sweat. Wear a swimsuit if you wa nt to cool off in a waterfall. We only got our feet wet. We didn't take a dvantage of the zipilne option because we were tired and had zip line d in other places. We finished the day with a tour of a chocolate com pany full of tastings and information. Jose was very informative on th e drive but left us to do our thing throughout the day once he got us started. I love when others organize the day so this is a perfect optio n for someone that wants to be picked up and taken to the adventur e. My husband and I and our 22 year old son had fun. We left the hot el at 7 a.m. and returned around 6 p.m. We are outdoorsy but if stairs and hills up and down are a lot for you, you may want a different trip. I picked this trip bc it had everything we wanted including a pickup fr om our hotel. It turned out to be a great choice.

What an adventure of a lifetime! We had such an incredible day, first with the hummingbird sanctuary, followed by the butterfly garden and then Mindo Cloud Forest. Did the zip lines too and ended the day with a beautiful cacao tasting. Our guide Jose was kind and knowledgable, and made sure our group had a really fun time. We had an amazing experience on our Ecuador rainforest day tour in Mindo! The transportation was smooth, the views were incredible, and we loved visiting the hummingbird and butterfly sanctuaries — both were beautiful and so informative. The entire tour was a perfect mix of nature, learning, and adventure. Jorge and his team run a fantastic operation — this is our second tour with them after Cotopaxi, and they continue to impress us with their professionalism and passion for what they do. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed a tour with Jorge earlier in the week so much that we decided to book the Mindo tour with him as well—and we’re so glad we did. The hummingbird sanctuary was absolutely magical, and afterward, we did a local coffee tour where we enjoyed delicious coffee and treats and learned the process from start to finish. We had the option to choose different activities so while we did this, others in our group explored the butterfly sanctuary. We ended the day with a cable car ride and a beautiful hike to a waterfall, where we even got to swim. It was the perfect way to spend the day, and Jorge was a wonderful guide. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to experience a lot in just one day!

This tour had something for everyone! The food is incredible, and I could have stayed there for every meal! I was stunned at how many hummingbirds were at the sanctuary - everyone in my group got to hold a feeder and feed the hummingbirds up close, which was beautiful. The ziplines were also such a blast, with a few different path options for those who were looking for more or less adrenaline! Make sure to have your camera for the cloud forest and waterfalls, because they are truly breathtaking. Highly recommend the trip!

This experience, with Jose, was a highlight of my holiday! From the moment I met Jose, I felt like I'd known him for ages. We were laughing all day. I was surprised, that it was a private tour, as it was so reasonably priced. First up was breakfast with the Hummingbirds! As this was my first time, photographing these birds up close, it was hard to drag myself away! Breakfast was delicious! Then we drove to Mindo and got a cable car over the rainforest, it was stunning! I enjoyed the 90mins I had to explore the 7 waterfalls and have a swim. Then it was time to do 10 zipwires across the rainforest canopy. I loved this and tried all the different positions 🤣 with Jose meeting me at the end of some wires, videoing and smiling. He then told me that no women on his tour had done the Tarzan swing, so I thought I'd do it, just to make him happy...even though he probably says that to all the girls! It was terrifying and exhilarating! We finished with a nice relaxing chocolate tasting! If you're in Quito, definitely book this tour...its a small family run business and Jose will ensure that you have the best experience!

The tour was really good. We loved the different activities that we did and the fact that the tour guide could speak spanish and english. Our favorite parts of the tour were the waterfalls, which were nice and cold; and the chocolate tasting which was so interesting and delicious. We appreciated that the tour guide picked us up and dropped us off at our housing.

Jose was my guide and he was spectacular. There was a fair amount of driving involved, but he is such a fun and engaging conversationalist that the drive times passed by quickly. We went to the Hummingbird Cafe and enjoyed a traditional Ecuadorian breakfast, went zip lining, visited waterfalls, and tasted delicious Ecuadorian chocolates. It was a nice experience with a great and caring guide. Would recommend it.

Jorge was an excellent guide. I was picked up right on time, had a delicious breakfast while watching hummingbirds, then headed to Mindo. I opted for a quick zipline, then went for the hike. The hike was beautiful, each waterfall we visited was spectacular and I could have spent all day hanging out in the pools. After the hike we went to Yumbo chocolate, Jorge recommend the brownie. He was not wrong, possibly the best brownie I've ever had. Overall, a nice day getting out of Quito and seeing something different.

Amazing views on the way to the cloud forest. Breakfast was traditional and delicious while we had the opportunity to watch many different colorful types of hummingbirds. The waterfall trail was enjoyable. The cable car to them was an experience too.

Wonderful day spent in Mindo and it’s nearby neighborhoods with my husband and two kids ages 8 and 6. Started with an amazing breakfast at a self-sustainable restaurant. Followed by once in a life time experience of feedings the hummingbirds. Mindo was filled beautiful hiking trails that lead to multiple waterfalls. Afterwards we enjoyed a butterfly sanctuary, finishing off with delicious coffee with chocolates at a chocolate factory. Our guide, Jose, was great! He was friendly, easy going, and offered a tour that was mended to our desires and needs with the two kids. We recommend this tour.

Well-organized experience. Great communication beforehand, and everything went smoothly. Jorge is very knowledgeable and is thoughtful in planning the day (e.g. arranging to visit the butterflies at the time of day that they are most active, choosing times and locations to minimize waiting in traffic).
