We are a family and had a wonderful day trip using this operator. Ivan was our guide for the day and he couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. If I was back in Quito, I definitely use them again. MANY thx

We booked this tour directly through the website quitotourbus.com. But since we wanted multiple tours, we messaged Quito Tour Bus via Whatsapp, told them which tours we wanted, and they sent the payment link so we could pay a one-time payment. Mitad del Mundo tour was amazing. From before boarding the double decker bus to the end of the tour back at Naciones Unidas, Pamela, our tour guide, and Oscar our bus driver, both were fantastic people. Pamela gave us history brief about Quito, diverse geography of Ecuador, and the surrounding mountains and volcanoes. She was knowledgeable, and she imparted that knowledge in a fun and interesting way. Highly recommend this trip to learn more about Quito and why it IS the middle of the world.
We enjoyed ourselves even more than expected in Quito, thanks to this tour company and our guide, Irene. She was both entertaining and informative, which helped us take our minds off the planning so we could just enjoy the city. The first tour we went on was a 6-hour tour of the old town, where we saw some magnificent cathedrals, stopped for a chocolate tasting, and for lunch, took a private rooftop cooking class overlooking the city. It was so much fun that we immediately booked a second 6-hour tour with Irene to visit the equator and one of Ecuador's best rose plantations. We got to stand on the "original" equator as well as the geographically official one. Along the way, we stopped at a cute cafe for lunch to taste the country's famous potato cream soup. It was a breeze coordinating with the company, and they were accommodating and flexible to customize our experiences. Additionally, we had the same driver, Ivan, on both trips, who was such a pro. Our whole family had a great time! Highly recommend to all visitors!
Diana once again took great care of me and made sure I got the most of my bespoke experience. I can't recommend her highly enough.
This was a great way to visit the Mitad del Mundo Museum and Park. The receptionist at my accommodation recommended it as an option instead of a private tour, and it's definitely good value for money. Appreciate the (bus) guide for helping with photographs and making sure we found (museum) guides who could accommodate our language choices.
I found it to be quite boring, in mitad del mundo there's just the famous statue and you are being picked up by a bus then droped off in the musuem with a local guide and then youre off alone to explore the mitad del mundo, it was pretty boring for my taste
Such a fun tour! The pickup is very easy in Quito and is right opposite a metro stop! Upon getting my ticket I was greeted by my guide called Joe. He was an amazing guide and conversationalist, full of energy and enthusiasm for the tour and Ecuador! It was very enjoyable to learn about the landscape as we travelled to the Middle of the World! The driver Alveiro was a great driver, navigating the busy hillside roads! Very comfortable ride. The tour activities were also very fun. They offered a many variations of insight from scientific and cultural with some fun challenges/games along the way! Would recommend when visiting Quito!
From picking us up at the airport, to the hotel round trip. This has been one of the best tours of my life. Irene made this adventure even more spectacular. Very organized, lively and with a lot of knowledge; since she has an answer to every question. Being a native speaker in Spanish, her english skills were a great plus. The tour was complete, once we booked and paid for this tour, we didn't have to worry about paying anything else. Irene took care of everything, they really felt like a carefree vacation. Thank you Irene. I had an incredible experience!!
Great tour, gives you flexibility to explore on your own and see some great sites! The tour guide Vanessa was great as well, very informative and helpful. Would recommend! I went solo and felt safe.
It is a wanderfull hop on hop off tour, we visited first the intiñan museum, a very interesting museum that have so many experiments, then we visited la mitad del mundo, Nice environment, craft stores and a Lot of museums, nice food also, finally we stayed at casa agave, the place is just a must do in this tour, enjoy the activities and nice guides as Vanessa, excelent option!!!!
I had an incredible time on the Middle of the World half-day tour, and I can’t recommend it enough! We actually did this as a private tour and requested an additional stop at Casa Agave for a spirits tour, which was an amazing addition to the experience. The company is so flexible and accommodating—if you book a private tour, they’re more than happy to adjust the itinerary to meet your group’s needs and desires! Our guide Diana was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing fascinating details about the Middle of the World site and Ecuador’s rich history. She is also incredible with her photography and video skills, which ensures you have tons of great memories to take with you! What I loved most was how well-organized everything was, from pick-up to drop-off. We did a private tour with a HUGE group (~30+ people) and they coordinated it so well with us, and made it seamless. It also helped to reduce the per person cost, which was great! Quito Tour Bus helped us create tours specifically for the guests of our wedding, as they were so helpful every step of the way. The tour moved at a nice pace, allowing us to take in the highlights while never feeling rushed. The entrance to the museum was included, and I was amazed by the exhibits and interactive displays that made learning about the equator so engaging. This half-day tour is a must-do if you’re in Quito! It’s the perfect way to experience one of Ecuador’s most iconic landmarks. Highly recommend! And I’d suggest the private option, and don’t be afraid to ask about other things you hope to see/experience while going through the booking process!
Quito Tour Bus coordinated our trip to the Middle of the World! Not only do you get to say you've stood at the equator, but you also get to enjoy all the fascinating experiences that come with it. I don’t want to spoil the surprises, but trust me—it’s definitely worth checking out! You also have the option to include additional excursions, which is a nice feature. Plus, you can capture photos with one of the most iconic monuments in Ecuador!
Spend an awesome afternoon on a tour to the Middle of the World. Our guide Vanessa was fantastic. She took us round and explained the significance of the area. She was both knowledgeable and passionate. Thanks to Vanessa and Jhon our driver for a wonderful experience.
The visit to the attractions at Mitad del Mundo was educational. We learned of the centuries of study that have placed the equator. We visited on the equinox which made the visit more special. Our guide, Ernesto, was wonderful. His knowledge was vast and he was very kind. We enjoyed everything about the visit.
Fantastic tour thanks to our guide Diana! Made everything look more interesting and fun! 100% recommended (excellent English and lots of traditional music on the way back)
We loved our guide, Carlos. He was very helpful and took us to the middle of the world museum as well as Casa Agave where we learned about how liquor native to Ecuador is made. It was so fun!!! 10/10
Our excellent guide was Erika and Marcelino our driver. Most of the group was from South America and spoke Spanish but Erika spoke excellent English and used the drive up (45 min approx with traffic) to teach us a lot about the history and culture of the area. She provided sunscreen as well for those that needed it which was very thoughtful. The Mitad Monument stamps your passport for free and has several very small floors of exhibits. Erika guided us through a few ancestral homes and taught us a lot about the history and culture of various areas of Ecuador. Very enjoyable. We were given an hour of free time after the site tour to explore the monument and many shops. I had excellent hot chocolate at the onsite Raqeri Cacao. I had read ahead of time on the history of the equator and was looking forward to seeing both the Mitad Monument on the spot determined in the mid-18th century as well as the later determined "real" equator (GPS) a short distance away. The Intinan Museum and other equatorial activities are at that location. The website says the tour includes " Museum, Middle of the World Tourist Complex, Experiences on the equinoctial line". But unfortunately, it was not the Intinan museum or the actual equator. A few other group members were also looking for this and were surprised as I that it was not part of the tour. But Erika and Marcelina graciously organized a slow drive away from the site instructing us to open our compasses on our phones for the GPS to track the exact equator location. My only suggestion for improvement would be to possibly revamp the tour to include the other site (museum, activities) and "real" Latitude 0. I would have happily given up my free time at the monument site for this. However, others might prefer browsing the craft shops and snacking :) Note that the activity graphic above is no longer the exact tour offered on their website. The Pululahua Crater was not part of the tour. See the Quito Tour Bus website for up to date info.
Francesco was a great guide, so friendly with great English, and answered all my questions. Probably too many. I'm a nosey guy. He's probably done this tour a million times, but it was fresh for us. The site itself is great for a 1/2 day, I could have stayed longer. Pick-up and drop-off were easy and on time. When will you ever stand in 2 hemisphers, take the tour.
The day before I went to Baños with Josué and it was excellent for us, so I had to request to go with him and that he take me and my family to the equatorial line tour, that day with Josué and Jimmy the driver we spent another incredible day where we could learn more about why Ecuador is known as the middle of the world. Josué gave us a guided tour of the Middle of the World complex where we got to know ancestral dwellings, tried some delicious ice cream made in a pan, and learned about the life changes that take place on the equator compared to the rest of the world. It was definitely an exceptional tour accompanied by great professionals! Thank you very much to the whole team, I hope to return to Ecuador very soon!
Very pleasant experience. Jimmy is so knowledgeable and we have learned so much! The pickup location is close to the hotel and it dropped us off at the place of our own choice!
My family and I took the trip and it was fantastic! The guide Jacki showed us things and explained the history as we were going, making the the drive feel very short. The tour was insightful and she was very patient with our 6 year old.
Our guide Jessica was extremely friendly, very knowledgeable of all areas visited, and couldn't have been more welcoming and entertaining. We had an amazing time and would recommend this trip to anyone. The monument and surrounding park were beautiful and full of history.
I went to the middle of the earth with my dad and we had an incredible experience. Our tour guide Misael was very kind and he knew a lot about the Ecuadorian culture. I would do another tour with Misael when I return to Ecuador 🇪🇨

Jennifer was our tourguide and shes a very chill and relaxed person with a wide field of knowledge. She let us take our time so we could have the ultimate experience in the very cute town which was around the midad del mundo monument. Knowledge of the English (and ofcourse Spanish) language was very good as well.
Was a very enjoyable tour. Educational and fun. our tour guide allowed us to customize our tour which made it even more enjoyable.
Best part was a group tour led by a knowledgeable and friendly guide. He gave a great background to the site. He emphasized the site was meant to honor the indigenous people of Ecuador and their history and culture. He also led us through many activities at the equator (science made fun!)
We needed to cancel this tour and we made every effort to cancel it well in advance of the deadline. Hotel staff also tried to make the cancelation and like us were told there was nothing to cancel. If a charge is on our account when our trip is completed we will contest it.
It's a place of geological importance but doesn't not warrant 3 hours of exploration or $50 that I was charged for it!
I did the middle of the world tour and the experience was great. Mario was a great tour guide and answered all our questions. It was pouring down and he went and got us umbrellas so we could continue our tour. You get an hour to explore on your own so you will have time to see what you need to see while you are there.
Oh man, how I wanted to like this company. My husband and I booked two tours with them - La Mitad Del Mundo half-day and Quilotoa Lagoon full-day from Quito. Both were poorly not managed well. Our Mitad Del Mundo tour started with their rep giving us the wrong Google Maps coordinates to meet them. When we got the correct ones via WhatsApp after waiting for 10 minutes, there was no acknowledgement or apology which I thought was a bit odd. Our guide was running late so we were picked up 10 minutes late and on the way there we learned some things about Quito which we found fascinating. Upon Googling the particularly interesting ones though, I found out they were largely not true (I only Googled them because I brought a couple of these facts up when speaking to a local later that evening who told me I had the wrong info.) Even that was not the biggest issue - on the way there, we told our guide we wanted to go to Intinan Museum to see the actual experiments at the equatorial line (which is outside of the Mitad Del Mundo complex), so we went there first. We spent about 1.5 - 2 hours (which is the standard time the tour takes with a guide provided by Intinan) and when we got to the Mitad Del Mundo complex, our Quito Bus Tour guide said he needs to stay in the car because there wasn't parking and the complex was about to close. We had 10 minutes at the actual complex - enough to just take a picture with the monument which was disappointing.
I especially enjoyed the interactive museum at the middle of the world. The driver was very knowledgeable
Did several half day/full day trips with Quito Tour Bus in July of 2021. Two of us did the half day bus tour around Quito (saw many of the highlights of Quito, had a 30 minute stop at a park with a beautiful view of the city). Lasted about 3 hours, guide was excellent (and spoke english and spanish). Afterwards, we transferred to a private car and did the half day Mitad del Mundo tour which included a side visit to an active volcano. Monument entrance fees included, had some free time to explore the monument grounds, spent about 1-2 hours there (which was more than enough time). Not very crowded given the pandemic. The next day we did a day long tour to Otavalo-got picked up at our hotel in a small bus with about 5 others. Excellent experiences including breakfast, cultural tours of Otavalo and free time at the Otavalo market. Also did a brief hike to a waterfall which was beautiful. Communication between the logistics team was excellent throughout the stay and we definitely enjoyed how seamless of a process it was to travel and do several tours with them during the pandemic! Highly recommend!
The tour was outstanding and our guide was informative. Definitely recommend the Agave Tour! Interesting and a quality experience.
My wife and I went on the Middle of The World Half-Day Tour with Diana and her husband. They were extremely knowledgeable, kind, and diligent. Everything was seamless. We had an amazing time with them and highly recommend touring with them if you visit Quito
This was awesome and educational trip. The tour guide was professional and knowledgeable . Loved it.
Diana was a great guide. The tour was pleasant and informative. Diana was very courteous and professional.
Enjoyable trip! David was a friendly and informative guide, and shared great stories with us. Especially loved the Agavi museum, not to be missed.
My dad, brother, and I (none of us are in our teens but that was the closest option) had a great time with David as our driver/guide. Due to COVID, it ended up being a private tour! Seeing the actual spot where they determined the equator was nice but we really enjoyed our stop at Inti Ñan! It gave us more of a background to the indigenous people that lived there and knew the area was special, way before Europeans came around! David even recommended a great restaurant for dinner after the tour, Pim’s. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide!
We had a wonderful time in this tour. We went to visit the Pululahua first, we go to the viewpoint which allows us to see how incredible is a town built up in a volcano crater. Then we visited, the Mitad del Mundo where we had multiple activities such as visiting the ancestral housing of the different regions in Ecuador, the Cocoa Route, and of course the monument of the Middle of the World. We could try to put up an egg on the head of a nail. It was such an interesting experience! I also want to point out how great our tour guide Diana was. She's so full of like and made all the tour very interesting. I would love to go back and do it again.
Bus was on time and tour guide was extremely friendly, especially towards a solo traveler. Viator charged $60 but if you book directly at Quito Tour bus it’s on $20.
Very exciting group to be touring with. I would highly recommend to use this group for tour tours around and bout Quito
Like this tour for world center! Enjoy so much today! Great view and nice people! Interesting tour sight in Quito that can't be missed.
Had an awesome time on this tour. Entertained for 7 hours visiting 4 different sites. Great personable tour guide Mauro who spoke perfect English. Driver Nesto managed the twists/turns of the tight Quito roads expertly. Center of the world museum was great fun as was the agave museum tour. For the price this is a great tour!
Traveling internationally can sometimes put you in peril, so it's nice to have a trusted tour company to help with attractions that you want to visit. The entire tour was great, with the Middle of the World being the centerpiece...however, the Agave Tour was far and beyond the highlight of the day. You wouldn't expect such an amazing and interesting experience - but it truly was one of the better expereinces I've ever had. The tasting room was spectacular and the guide through the tasting was super informative and entertaining.
Good food at a reasonable prices available in the park. Lots of souvenirs so take your time to pick the ones that are right for you.
totally recommend this company. amazing service from the time it began to the time it ended. please use this tour company you won't regret it
It was an excellent trip. All three stops were enjoyable. Tour guide is very informative and friendly staffs.
Wish we had a English guide in the monument. Other than that, trip was great. Especially liked the trip to Casa Agava which was interesting and fun!
There's a cool chocolate museum there, takes about 15 minutes to check out. At the center, there's a tower with a funky museum inside, covering indigenous cultures of South America, the equinox and solstice, the Earth's rotation, with a shop at the main floor. The main attraction might seem underwhelming to read, but I got a kick out if the equatorial line. Cheesy to he sure, but try standing with a foot in the northern hemisphere and another in the southern without grinning, at least a little.
