Christian was an excellent guide: a friendly, laid-back guy who spoke good English. He knew his country well and shared interesting insights about Quito as well as other regions of Ecuador. At the top of the TelefériQo you could spend more time and walk further, but a short walk, a ride on the swing and petting the llamas was enough for us, as walking at that altitude was quite breathtaking. Mitad del Mundo was an interesting place with a fascinating history. We also chatted with Christian about all kinds of things in Ecuadorian life, from heavy metal music to motorcycling. A really enjoyable tour!
Great! Our tour guide, Ricardo, was very knowledgeable and very respectful of us (we’re in our 70’s). **(Know Before You Go)This last part was important because when we reached the higher altitude, it’s much more challenging for us. Plus, Ricardo gave us a choice of which “middle of the earth” experience we wanted.
We had an incredible experience with Llamingo Travel, and especially with our tour guide, Luisfer! He was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and made the entire experience so enjoyable. He gave us plenty of time to relax and truly enjoy every stop on our private tour without ever feeling rushed. Luisfer also took us to an excellent local restaurant where we got to enjoy some of the delicious food Ecuador has to offer. The views of the city and the Middle of the World were absolutely amazing and made the experience even more memorable. We highly recommend Llamingo Travel 100%, and if you book a tour, we definitely recommend asking for Luisfer. He made our trip unforgettable! 🇪🇨❤️
Our guide, Daniel, was excellent in every respect. He met us at our hotel and drove us to each of the sites. We chatted about all things Ecuadorian, particularly about the wildlife, Quito, the local area and the environment. His knowledge and willingness to share is exemplary. He's also very friendly, personable and has a good sense of humour. The sites we visited were interesting: two locations of the equatorial line, plus the cable car to the high viewpoint above the city. We were lucky to have a clear day. Daniel explained that, if we wanted to curtail any of the visits (we had to be back in Quito for a flight out) that would not be a problem. 10/10!
Excellent!!!!! Christian was very knowledgeable and took our pictures at opportune times! So thoughtful!!
Ricky was great- excellent to talk with gave history of the area. We had a lot of fun. Highly recommend.
Our guide Wilson was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about Ecuador and the spots we visited. He went the extra mile to show us additional sites. Very comfortable car and good driver The museum was educational and our guide there was fun and informative
Daniel was a superb guide ! I had a private tour , and he did an excellent job explaining all the history of Ecuador, and took me to great sites. The cable car ride was great also! Highly recommend this tour, and Daniel!! 😊
Our tour guide Christian was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the trip and even gave us amazing recommendations for food.
We had an absolutely fantastic tour today with Daniel as our guide. Daniel was very flexible and accommodating of our preferences as a family, adjusting the timings etc to spend more time where we wanted to. He was a very informative but relaxed guide and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. We would highly recommend this tour and experience to anybody coming to Quito.
Maura was a great guide and very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the cable car ride up to 13,000+ feet, the middle of the earth monument and Ecuadorian museum!
We had a fantastic experience on the Middle of the World and Cable Car Private Tour. Our guide, Christian, was exceptionally knowledgeable, kind, and friendly throughout the entire day. He went above and beyond to make the tour informative and enjoyable, and I would definitely hire him again for future trips. Highly recommended!
We spent the day with Daniel and our driver Ricardo routing around Quito with stops at cable car, Basilica, and the equador. They even pickup and drop off at our hotel by the airport as an extra peek! Daniel was an excellent guide and shared many details about Equador history and architecture. He truly loves guiding and answering questions. His knowledge of the city seemed endless. His English was also very clear .. Even people in the back could hear him . I would highly recommend this tour!!
We had some very nice and interesting Hours with Christian, who showed us Quito from above and knew almost everything about the middle of the world. The Time was flying by.
The perfect way to start our Ecuadorian Adventure! Our Guide, Christian, was absolutely FANTASTIC! ✨ What an incredible day in Quito! 🌎🚠 We visited the Equator and rode the gondola to the top of the city, where the views were absolutely breathtaking. We are especially grateful for our outstanding guide, who made the experience so meaningful. His knowledge of Ecuadorian history, culture, and the significance of the Equator brought everything to life for our family. From standing at the “Middle of the World” to looking out over Quito from high above the mountains, this was a day filled with wonder, learning, and unforgettable memories. 🇪🇨✨
Go for it. It was amazing and fun and Christian was simply fantastic. It was the experience of a lifetime for me.
Private tours are great and this was fit that criteria perfect. Daniel was able to pick up directly at hotel and drive around the city. He was very informative on local history and neighborhoods. Because this is private you can take as long or little time needed. Daniel has several areas he can take you to depending on your time and adventure level. Would recommend this to anybody wanting to get away from the bus tours and really have that experience with a local.
Great experience! Daniel was a wonderful tour guide. The equator explanation and experiments were fun for our three generation family. I would highly recommend it. The cable car ride was good but you MUST walk all the way to the swing in the sky. It was totally worth it.
We had an excellent guide, Mauro, who took us to the Teléferico in the morning because the weather was perfect. Others should know that where the cable car ends at 3,000 meters, there is still a hike of another 1,400 meters to the summit. It was well worth the exertion and the views were spectacular. The second stop was Museo di Intañan where a guide taught us all about the equator. We loved it. Our lunch at Calima gave us the opportunity to try some local foods. It was excellent. Mauro was so kind, patient and gracious throughout the day. We would highly recommend him.
The whole visit with Christian was lovely. We visited both sites for the Mitad del Mundo (I find the 'real' one a bit more complete than the 'historical' one, albeit the latter is much more grandiose, and more prone for photos, if that's what you're into). The way up the TeleferiQo and the short hike up there was great to. Magnificent view on whole of Quito. Everything was well organized, Christian even showed up a few minutes early, and guided us through all visits with many info and small facts. Just beware that if the weather turns while you're on top of, or inside the cable car, you might be stuck there for some time as it doesn't operate in bad weather.
It was incredible our guide, Daniel was awesome, friendly, informative, and accommodating. Would ghighly recommend this tour
ask for Ricky! So knowledgeable and friendly. Made it easy and took great care of us. Enjoyed his information along our drive. Great sense of humor and very professional. Ricky was very prompt and again we would highly recommend.
Tour was exceptional. Our guide, Daniel, changed the order of the events so we would not get caught in a late day rain. All the stops were fascinating and taught us something about Ecuador
Pamela was awesome! She shared so much wonderful information about Quito and was so knowledgeable about everything. Highly recommend this tour and Pamela!
We had a terrific time on this tour! Pamela was our guide and made our experience especially great; she was highly knowledgable, friendly, and welcoming. She also made sure that the tour was exactly what we were looking for, allowing exactly the amount of time we wanted at each location (plus lunch!). As for the activities themselves - wow! The cable car seemed to climb forever and the cloud swing was amazing. And that view!! Along the way, Pamela introduced us to the native plants along the walkway, giving us information about each one. And the Mitad del Mundo was fantastic. At first, we were bummed that Pamela had to pass us along to another guide (rules of the museum, I believe), but Jhon was also wonderful. We learned so much and had the opportunity to experience things firsthand. On our way back, we stopped (at our request) at a restaurant that had the most delicious local food - and which gave us one more chance to chat with, and learn from, Pamela before the end of the tour. What a day!
Terrific tour! We had Pamela as our guide and Eddie as our driver. They took great care of us. The tour is fantastic. You do everything it says in the description and it all very cool, but it’s really Pamela who makes this tour special. She is very proud of her country and it shows! Terrific ambassador for Ecuador. Unreservedly recommend this tour.
Mauro was a terrific guide. He is very knowledgeable about Quito and the various regions of Ecuador. It was a wonderful tour!
We did TeleferiQo, Old town and Middle of the world with Christian. We had such a fantastic day thanks to him. He possesses an exceptionally broad and deep knowledge not only of Quito but of Ecuador as a whole. His expertise spans culture, history, language, geography, politics, flora and fauna, transportation, industry, cuisine, and so much more—far too much to list. Listening to his explanations throughout the tour was truly fascinating, and we are so glad that I chose to book this tour.
Brilliant service. Arrived early. We did the trip the way I wanted, Christian was brilliant and I would certainly recommend him as a guide.
Equator (real one) visit was fantastic and very interesting. Highly recommend it. We opted to not go to the old/incorrect equator or monument. Cable car was a beautiful viewpoint
This is a pleasant way to get out of the city and experience the lush surrounding scenery without having to engage in a strenuous hike. Our guide, Pamela, was knowledgeable and considerate.
Daniel was our guide today and he did a great job! One of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. First, we visited the teleferico (cable car). We highly recommend doing the extra short hike to the swing and vista point - that was a highlight! We then visited the Intinan museum which marks the true Equator. Lastly we visited the monument at Mitad del Mundo a short distance away. Daniel was informative, helpful, and great to talk with. We highly recommend booking this tour!
An amazing day with Christian, our tour leader Cable car ride and Middle of the World; learned so much and appreciated Christian sharing his knowledge and passion, he took great care of us!
We had a great day of learning and adventure with Christian as our guide. Although the weather did not really cooperate (dense cloud coverage) with our initial plans, we were given a few different options to the cable car and were definitely not disappointed!! We would highly recommend using Llaminfo Travel as a great company to use for this adventure!!
Christian was an excellent tour guide. He was very informative, flexible and personable. It was an excellent tour.
Cable car ride to 4,000m enjoyable..standing on both sides of the equator will be a long-lasting memory.
Excellent visit to the Middle of the World. Worth going to both sites. The weather stopped us visiting cable car which was unfortunate.
This tour was a lot of fun and our guide Christian was exceptional. His smile and enjoyment in sharing his country with us was a major plus. We rode the cable car, hiked to the swings, and enjoyed a great view of Quito. After that we went to “Mitad del Mundo” and “Intinan” museum. Both were great with Christian acting as guide and interpreter. Tour took a little less than 6 hours and is highly recommended
First, I realized that there were two hotels in Quito and I sent a message to Viator. They were so kind and made arrangements to pick us up at the airport hotel instead of the one I had booked. Christian was our guide and he was outstanding! He was knowledgeable, fun and made the trip so enjoyable. We learned so much more than we would have should we have gone on our own.
This was a “spur of the moment” tour that I booked only 2 days beforehand and am glad I did. It was a good tour for me because I was traveling in Quito on my own without an organized tour group and it enabled me to visit some popular sites that were outside of the historic center where I stayed, but on the other hand did not take up the full course of a day. Ricky was an excellent guide who spoke good English and knew how to take the perfect pictures, in particular the one of me “holding the ball” at the Middle of the World monument. The Intinan Museum was particularly interesting even though I was unable to balance the egg on the nail. Although the weather was not ideal for the Teleferico and the clouds were coming in fast and furious, which obscured the view of Quito from the top, nonetheless it was great for the experience. Indeed our timing was perfect because it started to rain very hard the minute we got down from the cable car. I would not recommend the Teleferico on a rainy day though because it could suddenly be shut down leaving you stranded on top for several hours until after the rain stops. I am almost sure that it was shut down shortly after we left.
Cable car was good fun but you may need to take things a easier at this altitude. Middle on the world (Intinan) was good mix of history, science and fun.
A unique experience to visit the “Middle of the Earth” (equator) and understand the uniqueness of being on the equator. Our guide, Christian, Was, exceptional, and also had a lot of information about Ecuador, the native people, and the various cultures. A great day that we highly recommend
Ricky Espinoza was my guide for a private tour and he made the morning very enjoyable and educational. Initially, I thought I made a mistake signing up for something that was “very touristy” but Ricky did a great job giving me a taste of Quito history and culture without being boring. I found the Middle of the World fascinating! The guide at the museum was friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience very enjoyable. The cable car gave great views but definitely beware of the altitude. I did find my breathing labored. It was nice to just have a 4 hour tour on my first day in Quito.
Good experience to be at the equator with your feet on either of equator, one foot on the northern hemisphere and the other on the southern hemisphere
This was a wonderful tour that hit all the highlights! My guide, Christian, was great from start to finish - he provided a ton of interesting information about not just the Middle of the World but also Quito and Ecuador more generally. As this was my first stop in Ecuador, it was great to get all this info! We were able to see both Mitad del Mundo and Inciñan, which were two different takes on the “true” equator line (one traditionally derived, the other using GPS technology). I really enjoyed getting both takes, and both spots were places that I learned a lot! It was very cloudy on the day of travel, so since I was the only person signed up for the tour, Christian offered a chance to skip the cable car (since I wouldn’t have been able to see anything but fog) and instead visit El Panecillo, the large statue of the Virgin Mary that you can see from almost everywhere in Quito. This was a great decision - I hadn’t planned to visit, but Christian made it interesting and I’m so glad we went! Overall I would recommend this trip to anyone interested in learning more about Quito, Ecuador, or just looking for an intro to the city.
Nice trip and excellent guide. We saw a bear eating on the cable ride up. The middle of the world was interesting with nice activities. Recommend for sure.
Our guide did not take us to the Mitad del Mundo as described in the tour description but rather to the Museó Solar Inti Ñan.
The tour was great. The guide was super knowledgeable about the area, history, flora and fauna. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area.
I was fortunate to have Pamela as my tour guide. She is very knowledgeable about Quito and the surrounding areas. With Pamela as my guide and expert driver, I visited the Middle of the World Monument (Mitad del Mundo). There is a small museum of indigenous history within the monument, that Pamela was familiar with and added additional information. After this, we ascended by cable car, approximately 13,000 feet above sea level for spectacular views of Quito! What a pleasant time I had with Pamela! I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation!
