The tour was amazing. Daniel was not only extremely knowledgeable about Quito and Ecuador, he was passionate about it too. My wife and I had a great time. We would absolutely book future tours with Daniel. Highly recommend. 5 stars!!!

We highly recommend Daniel Mucarsel. He put together a custom tour for my husband and I based on our input. We initially communicated via email but then through whatsapp, even having a meet and greet phone call to go through the itinerary. Over the course of the day, the itinerary changed as we learned more about other sites (even a chocolate tasting at a small shop that was very interesting and enjoyable). At the end of the day, he spent extra time with us at the artisan market to guide us on good handicrafts. We learned so much about Quito and Ecuador and will return and use Daniel again. Thank you Daniel! Debbie and Joe
Daniel was a great tour guide. His knowledge of Quito and Ecuador is extensive. He customized the tour for us and let us spend as much/little time at sights as we wanted. We were so happy with him as a guide that we booked him for a another day of our trip when we went to Mindo.
We had an amazing tour with Daniel. We only had 8 hours in Quito unfortunately and Daniel made the very most of our time there. He was engaging, entertaining and informative. We learnt so much not only about Quito but also about Ecuadorian politics and culture. We would highly recommend him as a guide no matter what you are after Thanks Daniel !!
Brilliant tour around Quito with Daniel. He was great company, his car is brand new, he speaks perfect English and is a knowledgeable, interesting local who is very experienced. I loved the cable car, lunch in the local market - huge, muy rico y muy barato! - the giant stutue of Pur Lady, the churches and the viewpoints. Highly recommended
Daniel was an incredible guide. His English was flawless, his interpersonal skills and easy going nature made the sites and visits all the more interesting because he was so lovely to talk to. The places we visited were interesting and he was flexible with me about what I wanted to see.
The tour guide is ok. He steered us to a tourist trap restaurant which was mediocre at best. He didn’t pay for his own drink and lunch—-we did. He told us to tip at this restaurant. We found out later that the tip and tax was already included in the price. He purchased admission tickets with my money and kept the change. While knowledgeable, guide was a little sketchy.
Daniel was an amazing wealth of knowledge. Not only did he share the history of the places we visited but he was full of so many other facts/beliefs that we aligned with. We felt his fee was such an amazing deal and feel he should be shared with everyone who visited Quito. We will be sure to spread the word to our Canadian peeps.
We really, really enjoyed Quito thanks to Daniel. He was fantastic and we highly recommend him. We were really lucky to find him!
Our time in Quito started out a little rough with one of us suffering altitude sickness. Daniel was quick to answer our message needing a later start for the tour and suggested a remedy for the sickness of dark chocolate and water (it worked pretty well). By 10:30 a.m. we were on our way, Daniel adjusted the day to make it easier and at a slower pace to deal with the altitude sickness. We visited El Panecillo, the giant statue of the Virgin Mary overlooking the city, here he explained about the battles for the city and the history preceding European settlers. (Much of prehistory is lost to lava flow over the millennia). From here we went to the main square of Quito and visited several churches, the most impressive was the Golden church of the Jesuits. It is adorned with 7 tons of gold leaf. Everything was beautiful. Daniel had a vast knowledge of the religious symbolism in the churches, and was able to show us how Christianity was introduced to the people of the region who had no concept of heaven or hell. He will tell you so many interesting things including how the church incorporates the indigenous peoples symbols for the sun and many other links between these early people. After a stop for lunch, where we enjoyed guaguas de pan and colada morada (food and drink consumed to observe the day of the dead), we were off to the Intiñan Museum at the equator. This museum, located on the actual equatorial line, had a wonderful guided tour that first discussed the history of the indigenous people of the region. Displays included real shrunken heads, animal displays and a structure made in the traditional way that keeps it insulated from the equatorial heat. There is then the demonstrations of the equatorial phenomena like the Coriolis effect and the magnetic center of the earth. You can make pix standing on the line and all the other things. Even balanced an egg on a nail. It was a lot of fun. Daniel then returned us to our hotel about 6 p.m. after our day of exploring the city. In spite of our own rough start, Daniel came through for us and we thank him. If you’re looking for an intellectual tour of the city, a lively discussion of history, religion, indigenous people, nature, and culture, Daniel is your man!
Daniel did an amazing job showing us the city! He was very fun and easy to talk to. Showed us everything we wanted to see, took us to a yummy chocolate tasting and a fun and delicious lunch as well. If you need someone to show you Quito Daniel is the guy!
I had an absolutely fantastic time on the Complete Private City Tour with Daniel Mucarsel! From start to finish, Daniel's knowledge and passion for the city made our experience truly unforgettable. He tailored the tour to our interests, taking us to hidden gems and sharing fascinating stories along the way. The personal touch made it feel like we were exploring with a friend rather than just a guide. If you want an enriching and fun way to discover the city, I highly recommend this tour! Thank you, Daniel!
The tour provided a wonderful opportunity to explore the marvelous city of Quito. The tour consisted of two parts: the equator and the old city of Quito (including Panecillo Hill). Both attractions are truly unique, like nowhere else. Exploring them with such a fantastic guide as Daniel was a pure pleasure and an unforgettable experience. Daniel is a person with extensive knowledge, charismatic, friendly and ensures a great atmosphere during the tour. We got along perfectly. I recommend him without reservations!
The Complete Private City Tour was a wonderful way to see the highlights of Quito in one day. We visited beautiful landmarks, learned interesting facts about the city’s history, and had the flexibility to explore at our own pace. Our guide was knowledgeable and took us to great spots for photos and local culture. It was nice to have a private experience, which made the day feel relaxed and personalized.
Amazing guide and such fun trips!! Daniel is full or information and passionate about his country!! 2nd time in Ecuador and 2nd time using Daniel. Did the Quito City Tour, hot springs and 4 days in the Amazon!! What a thrilling, exciting and unforgettable time!! I highly recommend Daniel and his services! You will not regret it!!
We found Daniel via Internet reviews and liaised with him directly to arrange a tour of Quito for one day and a second day visiting the Mindo cloud forest and equator museum. He was excellent as both a guide and a chauffeur, taking us around the places we had agreed, adding on various stops we wanted, finding a good place for a quick eat, etc. Lots of information passed on in a humourous and enthusiastic manner. We were lucky to find him and would thoroughly recommend him. We wanted quite a packed day and he delivered but others will want to focus on less or different things. He is willing to amend the itinerary to what you want to do (within what is realistic of course). We are lucky enough to travel a lot and rate Daniel as an honest, reliable, informative and fun guy to have as a local guide. His English is great if that is what you need, and he is a safe driver.
We had a layover in Quito and Daniel gave us a great quick tour of the historic center of the city and La Mitad del Mundo. He was very knowledgeable of all the sites and was very accommodating to our request for a vegan lunch as well. It was a pleasure to meet and chat with him for a few hours and the airport drop off service was a definitely plus.
Daniel is an AMAZING tour guide with a vast knowledge of Quito and its’ history. I highly recommend seeing this beautiful city!
The locations and views were all amazing, Daniel, being a certified tour guide, was able to answer all my questions from the simple to the complex, definitely recommended!
Daniel is a great guide and a really nice person! He adapted the tour itinerary to fit our interests, was informative without overwhelming us with unnecessary details, and really made Quito come alive for us. Hire him to show you this wonderful city. You won’t regret it!
I am a solo traveler that just spent a few days in Quito. Because Quito is such a large sprawling city and the attractions are scattered all around, I decided that hiring a guide was a better option than navigating myself. I found Daniel online, and he was amazing!! I booked 2 of his tours - the Quito city tour and the day trip to Papallacta. The Quito tour seemed like a long day to me, with so many things to see, so I asked Daniel if we could split that tour into 2 days, and I'd pay him for an extra day. His prices were very reasonable. Daniel agreed, was very flexible, and let me create my own itinerary of what I preferred to see and where to spend our time. I chose to see the Historic Center, Panecillo, Teleferiqo Cable Car, and Mitad del Mundo. The entire tour experience with him was positive from beginning to end. Hotel pickup each day was punctual, in his well-maintained new vehicle and in his uniform, and he would explain in detail each day's itinerary first. While visiting the sights and on the road in between, Daniel provided so much valuable information. I learned about the fascinating history of Ecuador, the rich cultures of the indigenous people, the Incas, the Spaniards, and modern Quitenos. We discussed nature, the different animals and plants that are found at all elevations in the mountains and jungles. He chose the perfect local background music in the car relevant to what we would see. And he found us a perfect local restaurant for an authentic Ecuadorian lunch each day. I truly got a much better understanding of Ecuador from him than had I travelled alone to these places. I highly recommend Daniel and his services to anyone visiting Quito.
We are a family of four adults. We spent a wonderful day touring Quito with Daniel, who is knowledgable and great fun. We toured Quito's churches, monuments, and squares, visited an artisonal chocolate workshop, dined in a traditional restuarant, and thouroughly enjoyed our day with Daniel. The traffic was miserable but Daniel filled the time with stories and history of Quito.
OMG I can’t say enough about this tour!! We had the best time with Daniel. He was so nice and accommodating to all of our needs. We had the best time. We had such a great time visiting the equator and learning the history of Quito! His restaurant recommendation was the best food we had on our entire trip. He was such an awesome tour guide we cancelled our tour for the next day and lost the money just to rebook it to go with Daniel. He was so amazing! The next day we visited Mindu and had such an amazing time! Daniel felt more like a friend than a guide! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him! When I go back I look forward to another tour with him!
Daniel is amazing, informative, energetic, engaging and a top guide! It is very worth booking with mufi tours. The Quito full day city tour is very comprehensive
Quito is a great city to explore. When you have a great guide, you find restaurants and other places to explore that are not too touristy.
Fantastic tour and experience. Everything was organized well and Daniel tailored the tour to my interests. Would definitely recommend to use his services
It was a great honour to spend a fun day with Daniel. He is really the best guide I have ever met, very knowledgeable, good English, very friendly and can cater for all your needs. Despite the big rain, he still made the trip very fulfilling.
This is not our first visit to Ecuador, but is our first time in Quito. This tour was the perfect way to be introduced to Quito. Daniel was full of information and great energy. This isn't a "canned" tour, he took the time to get a feel for us and tailored the tour to match. He offers many different tours, which I'm sure are as fantastic as this one.
I had a great private tour with Daniel. He's very friendly and knowledgeable about the places we visited. He's also flexible and willing to share his city and country, giving suggestions and making introductions to give a more complete understanding. I went on this tour my first day in Quito to get a base or context for the rest of my time here. It was a wonderful way to start. I recommend this tour.
Daniel is a wonderful guide who enjoyed sharing the background, culture and history of the sites visited. He is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Lunch was at a kool restaurant with an unusual background. Had a great time. Strongly recommended.
I love everything about this tour! It felt like I met with a friend and he is telling me about his city. He was very knowledgeable about everything we went to visit and do. He was very friendly, welcoming, and professional. Book this tour you won't be disappointed.
The Quito tour was fantastic. I learned so much and Daniel was an amazing guide. He explained the history of Quito, provided so much information and was a great guide.
My wife and I had one day to explore Quito and we hit the jackpot with Daniel and his city tour. Daniel picked us up at our hotel on time at 9 and we mapped out a day that matched our interests with his expertise and recommendations. Daniel took us to (the true) equator line where we had a great time learning all about “the middle of the world”. Daniel then took us to the Virgin of Quito - overlooking the city where Daniel explained more about Quito’s history, culture, neighborhoods, etc. We spent most of the afternoon in the historic part or town - a good lunch together with local dishes, a few churches (Daniel is a Quito church expert!), and then an amazing time at a local chocolate-making shop where we learned so much about chocolate, helped make some, and tasted a lot of really interesting varieties. We loved Daniel’s knowledge and passion about his home city and country. He presented thoughtful and balanced perspectives, and has a gift for communicating. Daniel gave us a fun, interesting, memorable experience. We feel like we optimized our time in Quito and if you want to do the same, book Daniel!
The Quito city tour was amazing! Daniel was the perfect guide! He made the day enjoyable and was full of knowledge! He is open to changing the itinerary, I really wanted to take the TelefériQo Cable Car up the mountain and he made it happen, especially with the weather cooperating. I highly recommend taking this tour with Daniel. I was a solo traveler and having this private tour made the day more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour and any one of the other ones that Daniel offers through his company Mufi Tours!
You simply cannot do better than Daniel! His love of country and city shows in everywhere he takes you. Leave it to him or tell him what your interests are—art, cuisine, history, exploring— just say the word and he’ll plan the perfect day in Quito. And he can turn on a dime. Do yourself a favor and look no further!
Enjoyed our city tour. Our guide was full of history about Ecuador and the locals. Sorry I didn’t catch his name.
We did two days worth of tours with Daniel! Absolutely worth it and we had so much fun! I am glad we chose a private tour. Didn’t have to ride around in a big bus and could explore the city at our own pace! He is very knowledge and a wonderful person. We felt very safe and appreciated his communication! Highly recommend Daniel and you should definitely try his other tours!
This week we took this fabulous “Let me show you Quito” private tour with Daniel. He was most knowledgeable in the history of the places he took us. We are seniors, and he paced the tour to our abilities. He is young and enthusiastic about making this the best tour possible for us. We can highly recommend Daniel.
Once again, Daniel is the best option in terms of a tour guide, not only professional and reliable, but also a friendly and open-minded person. His knowledge about the path and the history of the places makes the trip smooth and bearable.
We had a great time with Daniel for the city tour! He was very knowledgeable and a fun person to hang out with for the day.
Daniel was helpful during and after the tour with information, personalized the experience and was knowledgeable and personable. He went the extra mile to ensure our day was exceptional. We felt like we had made a new friend. We liked everything about the tour he set up.
This tour company has great customer service. Unfortunately I had to cancel my tour, but they responded to my texts promptly, tried to accommodate with a different tour suggestion, and refunded me right away when it didn't work out. Thanks!
Daniel is amazing! He is a very smart and interesting person, with great stories from his background and travels. I felt comfortable with him immediately. He was very responsive in communication leading up to our arrival and very flexible with our extremely delayed flight. He was also wonderful with my young son. He gave great suggestions and insights, with no pressure. In addition to being a very safe driver, he played great music! Most importantly, he went above and beyond helping us with transport under stressful circumstances- protests blocking highways and rerouting. I am forever grateful to him and would recommend him without hesitation for tours and transport while in Ecuador.
We loved our day tour of Quito with Daniel. He was prompt, organized, easy to communicate with ahead of our visit. He is a huge historian of Ecuador’s culture and history as well as knowledgeable about current events. He told wonderful stories and our heads are full of the local indigenous legends. He is a delightful host and we couldn’t recommend him more highly. We wish him the very best as a guide and all around nice person.
Daniel is an excellent guide and great driver. His love of his country, it’s people and it’s histories really shows in his work. His English I’d perfect so no worries there. I travel a LOT and Daniel provided some of the best guide services I’ve ever encountered. He will really customize your experience for you. I will be returning to Quito in the future and will definitely book my travel with Daniel.
Tour operator and owner Daniel is terrific. He loves his country, the people, and it’s histories. It shows in his knowledge and explanations during his tours. He is punctual, the car is safe and clean, and he really customizes the experience for you based on your input. I had the pleasure of booking two tours and my airport transfers with him. I travel a lot, and Daniel was one of the best driver/guides ever. Highly recommend you start your Quito experience with him.
This is a great way to see Quito in a day. Daniel was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Much better alternative than just trying to do it by yourself and you will learn a lot about the history too.
We did three days of tours with Daniel (Quito, Otavalo, Mindo) and the Quito City Tour was the perfect way to start! We had so much fun visiting the equator and exploring the city and learning all about its history (Daniel knows everything you could possibly ask). We explored beautiful churches and wandered through the historic plazas, and even stumbled on a live band and and joined in for a little dancing with locals at one point! It was lovely. The highlight was definitely climbing up the bell tower in the Basilica Voto National - amazing views and so much fun! We finished the day with coffee and snacks at a cafe in the historic district, just chatting and enjoying the scenery. Absolutely perfect! Daniel is so friendly, smart, funny, and just all over a great person to be around. I'm so glad we had him for a guide while in Ecuador. It felt like having a local friend that could show us a real experience of Ecuador. Thank you Daniel!!
Thanks for a great day, Daniel. You are an easy going guide who knows a lot ! Gracias por un gran día, Daniel. ¡Eres un guía tranquilo que sabe mucho!
Daniel picks you up from where you are staying. You then begin to hear the hisory of Quito which matches the order in which you see the different places covered in the tour. You also learn about art and architecture in order to have a better understanding of the city and you see many interesting and beautiful places. So much is covered in one day. Daniel is friendly, informative, and laid-back. His service is very personalized and you can adjust his tours according to your interests. He is easy to communicate with on social media. If you are a woman travelling solo I encourage you to book tours with Daniel so you can feel safe and not let being alone stop you from seeing places you want to see. As I mentioned, Daniel's tours are personalized so this is also great for couples or small groups.
