Daniel, did a very nice job. He was knowledgeable, friendly and added several nice touches at several of our stops. He had a lot of great stories during our travels, and highlighted the history of Quito and the Mindo area and market.

"Plaza de los ponchos". The biggest indigenous artisan market in South America! A complete walk around to find the best options for your preferences. Daniel provides an EXCELLENT service and real value. Completely fluent in English, and really willing to work with you to personalize your experience. I spent several days with Daniel as my guide and enjoyed each tour. Highly recommend.
Daniel was so kind and funny, and made sure I saw the best spots! I’d recommend him to anyone and will remember this tour a long time.
We booked a tour to the Otavalo area with our two young kids and their grandparents, and Daniel made the whole day easy and fun. He took us through the market at a relaxed pace, shared the background on the textiles and crafts, and helped us find good things to buy without feeling rushed. He was patient and kind with the kids, and the grandparents were comfortable and engaged all day. Everyone in our group, from the youngest to the oldest, had a great time. Highly recommend, and ask for Daniel!
Daniel is a wonderful guide. He is friendly, knowledgeable, articulate, and kind. He showed me some beautiful sights and introduced me to some of the sellers at the Otavalo market. We enjoyed a great lunch together and shared many laughs. You cannot go wrong with this tour. Highly recommended. 🙂
Daniel is an awesome guide! Very knowledgeable and a true professional. I hope to return and use his services again. Many thanks!
Daniel was kind and professional. I went with my 9 year old son and we had a fantastic time. Would definitely use Daniel again if we return to Peru!
Great tour exploring the ancient history of Otovalo. Daniel was not only a great guide but also left us enough space to explore on our own. A must-do when you're in Quito!
Great experience exploring the ancient history of the people of Otovalo. Daniel picked us up at the hotel and was a lovely guide for the tour. He made the experience extra special and still gave us enough space to explore on our own.
Enjoyed our day with Daniel. Started with an on time pick up at our hotel. Spend good amount of time at the market and visited other interesting places also. Scenery on the drive was nice. Daniel was a good safe driver.
Daniel is amazing! A friend recommended him for my trip. I would highly recommend him and plan to book a trip back to Quito. I felt like I was traveling with a friend instead of a guide. He is so knowledgeable and made the trip unforgettable.
Daniel was an excellent guide and we had an amazing trip
Daniel was a lovely guide that was deeply knowledgeable about history and culture, and highly engaged with his guests. This day trip is great way to get out of the city for a little bit and enjoy a different side of Ecuador.
Daniel was an exceptional guide for our trip to Otavalo. Coordinating was easy-he picked my mom and me up in Quito. Throughout our day, he taught us so much about Ecuadorian culture and showed us exceptional sites! We loved the Otavalo market and it was very helpful to have Daniel help us navigate it. On our way home, he recommended a great restaurant for dinner. Highly recommend Daniel as a tour guide-- he goes above and beyond!!
I found Daniel thru TripAdvisor. I went to Ecuador for 2 weeks over the holidays. He took care of me the entire time. I told him what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go. He planned it out perfectly!! Never left me alone. Since I was also traveling solo!! It was great!! I came from the states. He speaks English. Im a very picky eater also, he was able to find me things I'd eat. The trip was amazing!! Highly recommend him as your guide!
I had a great time on this tour with Daniel! He knows so much about the local culture and always had something interesting to share at every stop. We enjoyed some traditional bread and tea, visited a beautiful waterfall, and finished at the Otavalo Market, where we also tried some local food. Daniel made the whole experience really enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommended!
Daniel is amazing. I was traveling as a solo women and he gave me some recommendations of places to go or not for my stay. We had a good time and he was really helpful. I wanted a relax day tour, where you see a lot of things, but don't feel overwhelmed at the end of the day and it's exactly what I got. You get the local vibe of the place instead of only being in crowded places with tourists everywhere. If you want a real Ecuador experience, take that tour!
Our artisanal market tour in Ecuador with Daniel was such a wonderful experience! He was amazing, kind, and gentle, and made us feel like family from the start. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Ecuador and his people, and the care and pride he brought to sharing their stories made the tour even more meaningful. We brought our baby, who was just five months old, and Daniel was incredibly patient and thoughtful. He really helped our family feel comfortable and cared for throughout the tour. He was also great with our dietary restrictions and made sure we could enjoy the experience. Beyond the tour, he helped us find other things to do and shared wonderful recommendations that made our visit even more special. We would recommend Daniel again and again. We’re so grateful for his warmth, knowledge, and kindness!
Daniel was simply the best private tour guide we have ever met. Not only did he show us amazing places we never would have discovered ourselves, but he put so much care into his work, and shared so much of his own passion and creativity, that we always felt we were with a personal friend. He's a funny and interesting guy and we are glad that we have stayed in touch since our trip. We very much hope to meet him again -- not just as clients but as friends.
This was the best tour I've ever been on! Daniel was an incredibly smart, friendly, and patient tour guide and took me on a well-curated list of destinations. Got some INCREDIBLE views, bought some beautiful souvenirs from local artists, and tasted some unique and delicious food. Cannot recommend the tour and Daniel enough. Do not miss this tour!!
Had a wonderful experience. This was one of our highlights from my wife and i’s trip to Ecuador. Daniel is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humor.
My guide Daniel was on time, professional & well knowledged of the layout of the city. He also catered the tour to my personal interests. Highly recommend
Great driver / tour guide. Waited while we enjoyed our day and then drove us back to the city.
Daniel, thanks so much for a most enjoyable and memorable trip to Otavalo. You are a fun companion who is also an expert on all things Ecuadorian. We talked a lot about Ecuadorian history and culture—- I’ve been listening to your musical genre recommendations! And when I needed to rest, you let me be and drove your car so smoothly, I was able to sleep as I still was recovering from jet lag. I was impressed by how you well you interacted with, and respected the indigenous folks at the Otavalo market. I found all the souvenirs I needed on this day trip. Best of all, you were flexible with your schedule and planned a bespoke trip for me. You even helped arrange a lunch get together with some local residents whom I had wanted to meet in Otavalo. Muchas gracias, Daniel!
After reading all the highly positive reviews we decided to go with Daniel and Mufi Tours and were very glad we did. Daniel is great! He not only showed us around Otavalo, our original goal, but showed us numerous interesting stops along the way, wonderful places we would never have known about without his expertise. In addition, he was able to personalize the tour. The best part is that Daniel is not just a guide but a part of the community: everywhere we went, the vendors and site operators knew Daniel personally which helped us find the best places and get the best services. You won't find a more personable and knowledgable guide. He seems to know everything and everyone and on top of that, he can help you find 'absolutely anything' you want.
