Our guide was Ayrton. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the country and is passionate about his role in helping us fully experience and understand the country. The sites on our tour were awesome-the waterfalls, the birds, the swing and tree house, and more. He was timely, a good driver as well as great guide, passionate when I needed to rest, and a fun person to talk to. Great day, great sites, highly recommend the tour and Ayrton!

Our guide Irene and our driver Santiago were both excellent. They pick us up at 6;00 am so we could be the holiday (carnival) traffic. The itinerary afforded us the opportunity to see all of the key waterfalls the town of Banos and the swing. Because we had a private tour we also were able to stop and purchase guinea pig for our dinner and the bear local ice cream on the way home. The tour was a highlight of ourti.e in Ecuador.
Pedro was amazing he made my experience smooth and easy! He was very knowledgeable and professional and answered any and all concerns that I had. I am a solo traveler and he made me feel extremely safe and comfortable during the entire tour highly recommended!
Andres (guide) and Jimmy (driver) provided great information throughout the trip. We learned about Quito, Ecuador, the culture and he even taught us some local words. Baños cute to see. Church was beautiful. Shopping in town was touristy(take small bills), but the street food was tasty. Swing at end of the world was super cool. The grounds were gorgeous with many flowers and hummingbirds and stunning views. The swing was a true experience and I’m happy I did it even tho I’m afraid of heights. Lunch was filling and excellent and they were able to accommodate a dairy dietary restriction. The cable car to see the veil waterfall was cool, but was an out and back, could not get off and walk around. The Pailon waterfall was impressive. The short hike there had some steep portions, but we saw people of all ages out there. That was stunning and a highlight of the trip. The only negative was that the tour company charged $70 for pick up from our hotel at the Quito airport. I get that it’s out of the way, that just seems a little excessive.
We had Pedro as our guide and Jimy as our driver. Day started at 7:30am and got back to the hotel at 8pm because of the holiday and how busy it was. Both Pedro and Jimy were the absolute best. Kind, funny, considerate and in no rush at all. We experienced all the sites we expected and then some! Pedro is super knowledgeable and has a very laid back approach when guiding. This made everything very relaxed and comfortable. The holiday made everything busier and never once did Pedro and Jimy make us feel rushed. If you only have a day to do Banos we would definitely recommend this tour! Thx Pedro and Jimy for a great day!
Banos is hours away from Quito. The long trip was spent sightseeing. It was nice to get out of the city. Ricky stopped for pictures, a snack and of course bathrooms. The scenery at Baños is just like the pictures, wonderful. He has personal connections with the various vendors. We even got to turn the spit on Guinea Pig roasting.
Pedro was a brilliant guide and so full of knowledge pointing out sights and sharing facts along the way. I took an English speaking tour, and he was amazing. I can’t recommend this tour enough, and going in October was perfect as there were no queues and we had most places to ourselves to really soak in the beautiful scenery.
Great tour and guide. Very nice, polite, and knowledgeable! The waterfalls were gorgeous. Great day.
What an amazing experience we had today in Banos and the Devils Couldran! Pedro was a great guide who gave us lots of information and told us about the locals! He was prompt, friendly, spoke good English and had lots of laughs with us.
The guide was very good. It was a long ride and he found a good balance between talking all the time and telling us about the things we were passing. He knew a lot about the various plants we were seeing when hiking. My only complaint is that the description didn't give any detail about the difficulty of the hiking...or even that there WAS hiking. We would have dressed differently had we understood.
This tour is packed with great activities! Pedro was my guide. He commented through WhatsApp with me the night before. He was punctual and very knowledgeable about the volcanoes around Quito. After three hours drive which was not boring at all and he stopped and we bought this delicious ice cream! After arriving at Baños we went to the market and had empanadas and a kind of juice that made from a fermented fruit, it was not bad. Then we drove up to the cable car and cross the river to the waterfall. I chose to hike back to the car. It’s just an hour but the altitude sickness got the worst of me! Pedro was patient and gave me a hand when going downhill as it was wet and slippery. The best part was Rambo the dog, he accompanied us all the way down! Then we went to a bigger and more majestic one. Then we went to lunch, all these were included. I had the best grilled trout I ever had! It was grilled to perfection and the garlic sauce was so delicious! Even the French fries were delicious! After lunch we went to the treehouse. I am afraid of heights and had indicated I didn’t really want to do the swings. But I am so glad I did that! I faced my fears head on and I found that I do like it a lot! I still have my shoes and glasses 😆😆 I just love this tour and Pedro is a great tour guide!
We had a blast on this excursion tour! Pedro and Carolina went above and beyond with their hospitality and to make every moment unforgettable. We highly recommend visiting all of these amazing highlights in one day because the day kept getting better and better and the adventure never stopped. We love Ecuador!
Excellent tour of Baños! Very well organized and our guide, Pedro, was knowledgeable and personable. He ensured everything ran smoothly during the full day tour. If you are visiting Quito and want to get out of the city to see the beautiful hillsides of Ecuador, I highly recommend this tour.
Pedro, our guide, and Catalina, our driver, provided an excellent experience. Pedro provided a lot of information on the drive including history, geology, culture, flora, fauna and interesting information about the different ecosystems we were driving through. We began in Banos, walking through the Sunday market. Pedro pointed out a lot of the local fruits and vegetables; buying several for us to taste. We continued down the main street, through a couple of plazas and ended at the church. Pedro and Catalina walked back to get the car, allowing us time to tour the church. We walked the beautiful flower gardens at the “Treehouse” followed by a delicious lunch at Pumamaqui Restaurant. We were offered two soups and three mains. We chose chicken soup and trout. Both were delicious. The cable car across the top of Bridal Veil Falls was fun. The highlight of the day was the Devil’s Cauldron waterfall area. The first falls, Cascada del Arcangel San Miquel, were smaller. The walk down to the Garganta del Salto Pilon del Diablo was not bad. The return quite strenuous. The route includes 2 suspension bridges (one was 120’ long, 15° decline), multiple steps and steep paths. But oh, the views! So worth it. Pedro was wonderful, encouraging these two 70+ year olds to take whatever time we needed to do the climb. The drive back was complicated by heavy Sunday traffic, rain and accidents, taking nearly 4 hours. But we had no concerns. Catalina was a great driver. We felt very safe with her.
Pedro and Franklin were absolutely two of the best tour guides we have ever joined. Franklin was a very safe and courteous driver, while Pedro's knowledge of the flora and fauna was amazing. We were pleasantly surprised when Pedro walked us through the market and introduced us to numerous local fruits and vegetables, including a tasting of many we had never heard of. We continued with a tour of Banos before heading to the falls. All the while, Pedro explained the surroundings and cultures of the places we past. The highlight had to be crossing the river in a small gondola and hiking to the bottom of the Devil's Cauldron! What a wonderful tour, with two amazing guides. Oh, and unlike other tours, everything was included in the cost of the tour. Everything! 5 star service by 5 star guides!
Beautiful scenery in Banos and a great tour guide! Got transport to and from Quito and some good sightseeing, including spectacular waterfalls, in just over half a day. I would definitely recommend this tour.
I only had one day in Quito before heading off to the Galapagos so wanted to use it to explore the Northern part of the Amazon in el Banos. Pedro was my guide and he was prompt, friendly and shared insights about the various areas. He also knew the best places to park and see the vistas which was useful. The drive was about 3~ hours from Quito each way. We rode in an SUV which was comfortable and there were pretty views to enjoy. As part of the tour you'll see gorgeous waterfalls, have the option to hike around to see the vegetation up close, and go to a top peak to get a great view and ride the swing at the end of the earth. I also liked the cable car that takes you across a valley and close to a waterfall. The tour also includes a tasty Ecuadorian lunch at a restaurant located in the hills of the Amazon so that was a nice treat too. Overall it's a great excursion to provide exposure to the Amazon, some of its plant life, the various climates, and, of course, see the unique views. Makes me want to come back one day to explore the Amazon further.
The Banos tour was all that I had hoped. Irene was a great tour guide, full of information about the Banos, about the culture of Ecuador, about the mountains on the way and answered all of our questions. The driver was Santiago and he would slow down or pull over for pictures of the volcanoes or other things that we wanted to see but were not part of the tour. The essence of a good tour guide is one that takes care of you and uses their knowledge to make your experience better. Irene did that several times over. She made sure that I had a toilet when I needed, asked if were were hungry at times, provided snacks, and did all that she could to make us comfortable. On the way, Irene gave us full information about the volcanoes and their cultural relationship to each other. She answered all of our questions and explained many of the cultural references that we had previously seen. The first two waterfalls are smaller than the others and I'm glad that we did these in that order. They were wonderful to see, but not comparable to the later ones. When we arrived at the tram to see the third waterfall up close, a tour bus arrived and Irene hurried us forward so that we could have the ride before a line formed. The main waterfall was so wonderful. Irene pointed out local birds and plants, took pictures of us for us. She warned us where to step, encouraged us when we needed to go over the bridge. We then went to lunch at a restaurant. The food was wonderful and the server gave us several drinks to try. The views were spectacular. Finally, we did the Treehouse. I wasn't much interested in the swing at first, but it was fun. More so were the humming birds. I've never seen so many and so many different kinds of hummingbirds! We were enthralled and Irene helped identify them and pointed them out to us. We arrived back, tired. It's a long tour, necessitated by the longish drive out and back. It's fine, if you can sleep in the car.
So happy my husband pick Irene's Banos tour. We were picked up at our place in Quito and headed on the long drive to Banos. Irene was very friendly, spoke excellent English. We had water and a nice bag of snacks for the trip. As we drove she shared the history of her country and the names of the mountains as well as stories about them. We were able to stop to take pictures as we traveled. The waterfalls were amazing. the second one you ride a cable car across the valley to get a birds-eye, up close view of the waterfall. The short walking tour of the town of Banos was lovely and the hand-made candy is delicious. The last waterfall is spectacular and you can stand right next to it. There is a steep walk with a cable bridge, but totally worth it. We had an great lunch, included in the tour, over looking the mountains, good food and a wonderful host. Our last stop was the swinging off the edge of the world. Remember to breath and enjoy the view. Great picture opportunity with the volcano in the background. The gardens around the swing were filled with humming birds. Could not have wished for a better tour guide and driver, Irene and Salvatore were great company. Highly recommended!
We went to Baños with Miguel as our English tour guide and it was EXCELLENT! So very thankful that we had a thoughtful and knowledgeable guide. A definite full day of experiences and fun. We did a private tour and had the whole small bus to ourselves. While I would have loved to have more time to explore the Jean town as well as spend more time in Baños, we were able to zip line, ride a cable car, have lunch/dinner at a small farm to table restaurant where the food was delicious. We also were able to make it to The Swing at the End of the World. It was definitely a full day and the driver and Miguel went above and beyond as we had some traffic delay that elongated the day. The Devil's Cauldron was amazing too! I felt that we got to do everything in a 1 day trip to Baños if that is all you have. You could do a week long trip to Baños and fill it with fun activities. But we were thankful for this one.
The tour was fantastic! We did the cable car that had a fantastic view of Bridal Veil Falls, hiked down to the base of Machay waterfall, went to the Devil’s Cauldron, and visited the Casa de Arbol. Every place we went had fantastic views that left us in awe of Mother Nature! Our guide Pedro was absolutely amazing! Whether it was on the drive or at the locations he always had interesting facts about the area and the country. He especially had a knack for the birds and could help identify them if you’re interested! Overall a fantastic experience we would recommend to anyone.
Amazing tour and incredible tour guide! Travelled as a solo female and felt very comfortable and whole trip was organised perfectly. Thank you for such a super trip seeing incredible waterfalls highly recommend 💜
I had a wonderful time in Baños! It was awesome to have a private tour since I’m traveling alone, so I could customize it to my preferences. I went on 2 adventure swings, did the longest zip line in Ecuador, rode in a tarabita, and saw the famous devil’s cauldron waterfall. The drive to/from Quito felt a bit long, but I would say it’s still worth it to do this as a day trip. The guide was great: he shared lots of interesting facts, and was very accommodating when I wanted to nap in the car. He also knew a shortcut that saved us some time sitting in traffic. I’m very happy with the day overall.
I loved the experience with Ayrton, he is an excellent guide, he is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions, he provided us with good service, he is very kind and is willing to be flexible during the tour. The places we visited were unforgettable, especially the Pailon del Diablo waterfall. The only recommendation I give is that the title of the post says it includes tickets and lunch, but then you have to choose different packages that change the promise made in the title of the post. This can cause confusion and dissatisfaction. They should remove it.
A very pleasant day with our guide Etiel. Very attentive and good conversationalist. The tour was worth every moment, as it provided us with quiet activities and relaxing conversations about life stories. I recommend Quito Trails.
A tour that met my expectations, responsibility and punctuality were excellent, food was included and delicious. Carolina was an exceptional guide who supported me in what I needed, took pictures of me and gave me important information about the places we traveled. It is a quiet trip, I recommend to bring insect repellent and sunblock, the weather was warm even though in Quito it was very cold, so you do not need such a heavy coat. I had a lot to know, if I can come back I would definitely repeat it.
