I had an amazing experience on the Cotopaxi Volcano horseback riding and hiking tour! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and riding horses through the beautiful mountains was unforgettable. Our tour guide, Christian, was fantastic! He was very friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and made sure we had a safe and enjoyable experience. Christian went above and beyond to make the tour special. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Ecuador.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent tour to Cotopaxi from Quito with our tour guide, Christian. Throughout the day, Christian provided us with an extensive knowledge of the area, Ecuador and his personal experiences. Our horseback ride through the valley surrounding the volcano was very enjoyable and were able to trot the horses from time to time through the amazing landscape. Although the volcano was not fully visible during the trip, we thoroughly enjoyed the day, and Christian even provided us with some great photos he had previously taken which was a nice, personalized touch. Although lunch is not included on this tour, we headed with Christian to an excellent lunch spot, Mirador de los volcanes, with views of the volcano and valley after our trip and before heading back to Quito.
This is a beautiful experience that connects with nature and the beauty of Copaxi. The horses were so gentle and our guide, Daniel spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable.
Riders are outfitted with ponchos and chaps, which are items I had never used before but was very glad to have. They kept me warm and dry through the changeable weather. The two hour ride covered a variety of terrains with 360 degree views of gorgeous countryside throughout. The leaders are were relaxed but effective, providing a stress-free experience. This was easily the best "rental ride" I have ever done and enthusiastically recommend it! We had a professional guide that day, but he did not join us on the ride. (The nearby restaurant has very inflated prices and other options are available with a brief drive.)
Christian was an fanatastic guide — super knowledgeable and really friendly. I took my wife on the horseback riding tour and it was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Everything was smooth, fun, and unforgettable. Highly recommend!
Our guide, Christian, was knowledgeable and fun. Horseback riding was a great way to see Cotopaxi since the high elevation makes hiking difficult. The horses were sure-footed and Patrik outfitted us with ponchos and chaps to keep us warm. Be sure to bring a hat and gloves. We bought them from a vendor next to the horses and we really needed them. We saw lots of birds on the lagoon walk.
We had an amazing time at Cotopaxi National Park with our guide, Christian. He was on time, friendly, and very informative, sharing so much about the park’s history, geology, and wildlife. The highlight of our day was also the horseback riding experience, guided by Raul, who was incredibly patient and attentive throughout. His calm and supportive nature made the ride enjoyable, even for beginners. Both Christian and Raul made our visit unforgettable—highly recommended!
This was a fantastic excursion. The lagoon was a beautiful 2 mile hike at a nice easy pace. The horseback ride was fantastic! The actual time on the horse was a full two hours and the scenery was spectacular. They provided warm chaps and a warm poncho, so I was very comfortable. My guide was very knowledgeable and his English was perfect. On the way home we stopped at a great local little restaurant for a late lunch.
This was a lovely ride and walk! However, be aware that it is at a high altitude. If you aren't used to it don't try this your first day in Quito.
Our guide Christian was amazing, very passionate about the tour and all the wildlife we saw. We learnt a lot about the country and the area we were visiting. We had a lovely lunch recommend by Christian. All in all a fantastic day, throughly recommend
Highly recommend their private tours to get the best experiences, as the horse guide will adapt to your riding experience and needs. My main guide Christian was knowledgeable and I learned/saw so much.
Excellent professional service. our guide was very personable, respectful, polite, and always on time.
This fabulous day combined a gentle, mostly flat walk around Lake Limpiapungo nestled under 3 volcanos with spectacular wild flowers, birds and views. This was followed by a 2 hour horseback ride, again with stunning scenery. Daniel was knowledgeable and friendly with excellent English. Highly recommended way to spend a day in Cotopaxi National Park.
My guide, Christian, made the trip very enjoyable. The drive to Cotopaxi Volcano was long and unusual traffic due to an accident made it even longer. Christian kept me entertained with facts and stories about the area. When we arrived at the horses, Christian introduced me to the wrangler, Carlos, who knew little English and I knew even less Spanish. But Christian made sure we had the basics down. My horse was well mannered, compact with a smooth gait. We saw beautiful sights. The weather was cool and a light mist fell. I was provided with a helmet and poncho. After the ride Christian took me to what I would describe as a bird sanctuary. He was able to point out the different birds. After we headed back to Quito. It was a full and enjoyable day.
It was a beautiful day in Cotopaxi. My guide Christian, had so much information about Ecuador in general and all the volcanoes including Cotopaxi. The horses were well cared for and responded well. The terrain and views are absolutely beautiful!
Daniel our guide was amazing. In three days we covered Quilotoa, Banos, some bird watching, and equator. Fantastic trip!
I traveled with Llamingo again and loved it again. The trip is a bit long but worth it. The lagoon is magical, beautiful. A beautiful place for photos.
