Your tour guide will pick you up at 7:30 a.m. from your hotel, or address, within Quito's district. On the way you will admire beautiful volcanoes like Antisana, Los Ilinizas, Cotopaxi and Tungurahua.
Once in the city, we will walk through the charming streets and we will have time to visit the monastery of the Virgin of “Agua Santa”, where is possible to see paintings that describe different eruptions of the Tungurahua Volcano, that have been again in activity since 2000.
We will drive to the beautiful and stunning “avenue of the waterfalls”, where we could try different adventure sports, beginning with a stop in front of the Agoyan's hydroelectric dam; we walk towards the community of “Río Blanco”, where we clearly appreciate the beauty of the cloud forest; we will cross the Pastaza River canyon on a cable car that rides a 500 meters long cable to visit “Manto de la Novia” waterfall, where we could learn all about the local people's lifestyle doing a hike down to the river.
After doing a stop in the viewpoint of “San Jorge” waterfall, we will have the opportunity to recover our energy having lunch, before going to the well-known “Pailón del Diablo” waterfall!
Finally we'll go out of the beaten path to enjoy an unknown towering waterfall called "Machay" where is already possible to see Amazon vegetation!
You will be back in Quito approximately at 6:45 p.m., after having enjoyed more than four different microclimates on the same day tour!!

Ximena was amazing!! This was seriously one of the best days of our lives. She was kind enough to extend our tour when it went long due to holiday traffic. We have limited time in Ecuador and this tour is a great way to see everything with minimal time. In 14 hours we saw 11 waterfalls, zip-lined, did 2 hikes, crossed bridges, rode in gondolas, shopped, ate delicious food & enjoyed drinks & more. Seriously cannot recommend enough! Ximena was knowledgeable, friendly, personable and really added to an already wonderful experience. Book this!!!
What a wonderful day. Are guide was wonderful and answered all the questions. We also had the freedom to see things in Banos that were not specifically on the tour. It was an amazing day
Great day. My son and I really enjoyed the entire day and all the suggestions and recommendations. Ximena was great and provided lots of information on the area. We have her tomorrow for another private tour. Thanks
I took a day tour to Banos and Upper Amazon from Quito. My guide Ivan was friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English. He provided much information about Ecuador and the destination. I was able to do indoor activities like my first ever Benji-style jump for $25 and a walk to the waterfalls. Especially the Devil's Cauldron is stunning, walking there and back is a workout for your legs! Before driving back to Quito we had a dinner. Highly recommended!
Miriam was very friendly, informative and adaptable on our tour to Banos. Although it is a long drive (3+hrs), the waterfalls are worth seeing, particularly if you climb up the narrow enclosed section to walk behind the waterfall. The crowds were large so there were some delays. We also enjoyed the short cable car ride across the valley and the glass/wooden bridge walk. Miriam explained a lot about the scenery, culture and her life stories - thank you very much. We enjoyed the tour a lot.
Carlos was an AMAZING guide! The waterfalls were truly a beautiful sight... Enjoyed seeing more of Ecuador on our journey to and from Quito.
Ximena was a wonderful guide for the day. She was able to accommodate us by going to a special place to discover cuy (guinea pig) and the delicious market in Los Baños. Very enjoyable and she helped take our pictures.
We had an amazing experience with Freddy as our tour guide and driver in Baños, Ecuador! He was always on time, incredibly friendly, and very informative throughout the trip. What stood out the most was how flexible he was—he gladly modified the tour to fit our preferences and schedule. Freddy went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and happy the entire day. His local knowledge and warm personality made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommended!
Great place. It's very far from Quito. Would recommend overnight stay in Banos or neighboring area..
There are plenty of opportunities to try exciting and new things, like bungee jumping or zip lining. I had an absolute blast, and learned so much about the Baños area.
It was a long day, about three hours from Quito, but well worth it. My guide, Myriam, was very knowledgeable. I was able to see a lot of the Banos area. I highly recommend this excursion as a way to see more of the country.
We did two tours, one to Banos and the other to Mindo. I would highly recommend both. The driver and guide were both friendly and informative. They were also very flexible and accommodating. They also went above and beyond on our trip to Mindo. Both main roads were closed, one from a rock slide and the other from an accident, so the driver very skillfully navigated a back road across the mountain to allow us to do the tour that day.
As we were the only 2 in the trip we customized out trip and Fred took us anywhere we wanted to go . He was awesome and best trip every
Very professional, gives you the confidence that you are safe. Great attitude, they were on time, best experience ever!
It was our first time to Ecuador and we were very lucky on our first tour to meet Juan as our guide. He told us so many things about the country and places that we are inspired to learn more and come back to Ecuador again.
The whole trip was excellent. BANOS has amazing kanscape, lots of activities, amazing people and food. Our guide Wilson is awesome, made our trip very pleasant and learned lots of interesting facts about Ecuador. Highly recommend the trip.
Ximena is an amazing tour guide, she was extremely knowledgeable about the region and was able to share some delightful insights during our tour. I would definitely book other tours with her. The Day was a full one beginning at 730am with stops along the way to the Baños waterfalls. We were able to stop for snacks/drinks along the way prior to the scheduled stops. Ximena suggested a wonderful restaurant for lunch which was able to accommodate my wife's gluten free and vegetarian needs. We opted to try the zip lines and the rope bridge for an extra charge and it was worth it. Overall we had an amazing experience and would recommend 100%.
Carlos was right on time, and was a great guide! Great conversation on the long drive to Banos, with periodic stops for the restroom, food and photos! Carlos navigated me through different areas in Banos, we avoided crowded and all around had a great day. He stopped me at a local empanada vendor which was delicious, and he made it a point to find me two spice stores in Banos, because I mentioned how much I liked to cook. Highly recommend!
Bucket list to see the Amazon forest and westernmost tributaries of the Amazon River. Ecuador has such beautiful landscapes, water falls, volcanos, hot baths and there were lots of stops to see scenery. Baños was very charming. It was hopping and a great place for lunch and cervezas. It’s a three hour trip with great views and lots of places to stop. Freddy was a wonderful host.
Had an excellent time on July 4th. Ximena was a great guide and made sure I was having fun and provided me excellent cultural history of Ecuador and the Baños area. From this tour, you leave Quito to Baños and come back same day. In Baños, the tour is personalized to your liking. I did zip line, bungee jumped 50 meters, and saw some spectacular waterfalls in the start of the Amazon. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Jimena was so wonderful, we had the best day!! So many activities, so many incredible landscapes, she made sure we had the best time! Highly recommend!
It is a very long ride from Quito to go there, but our wunderful guide made it very very interessesting! Banos is an excellent place, with fantastic natur and waterfall and funny places, too
This was such a great experience. I had Carlos and he took great care of my mom and I. We took great pictures and was able to beat the crowds for pictures. The drive was long but Carlos made the drive educational and entertaining. Even though there were road detours, it still gave us a chance to discover other places. Baños is beautiful and I recommend this trip. And shout out to Carlos for taking care of us and giving us an amazing experience to last a lifetime.
Hugo was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable about the entire area and knew just where to go to show things and food
This was such a fun and lovely tour. Andres our guide made sure we did not miss anything worth seeing and doing. So glad we booked this tour, I highly recommend it
The Rio Verde waterfalls is a very special sight - worth the short hikes to see it in all its majesty. The short cable car ride to view waterfalls was also special plus the opportunity to do zipline or other things. The guide, Cathy, was very nice and a very good driver, was happy to spend the day with her. The lunch was delicious, good restaurant selection. Thankful overall for the tour.
We traveled on a perfect weather day. We saw Cotopaxi volcano emitting steam from the top of the cone. Ash from the eruption had melted the snow to the west. Then we were on to Baños de Aguas Santas with the rich biodiversity of the jungle. The waterfalls were majestic We finished the day in the town of Baños with its ancient charm. Our guide, Ximena, was fantastic. The trip was perfect.
Hugo was an incredible tour guide! This tour would have been nothing without him. From his explanations of historical sites as we drove through Quito, to his explanation of Banos, he was fantastic from end to end. He was upbeat and cheery, truly enjoying his job. He allowed us to stop in multiple spots for pictures which was great. Overall, wonderful experience. Baños as a whole is a quant and amazing town. The waterfalls and rivers surrounding it are jaw dropping. I wish we had more time here! Would highly recommend. Thank you so much Hugo
Amazing views in a full day. If you want to see a lot in one day, this tour is for you. Our tour guide Carlos was the absolute best! It was obvious that he enjoys his work as a guide. He gives details on the history of Ecuador during the drive between places as well as at the places we stopped. This included seeing several amazing waterfalls and riding in a gondola across one of the ravines. If you are able, you can do ziplines in this area as well. The last waterfall stop is Pailon del Diablo waterfall (aka Devil's Cauldron), which is a very large waterfall, you can feel its force when you stand on the stairs next to it. If you are brave, you can walk under it- we didn't do this. Following this stop, Carlos recommended a small restaurant for a quick lunch. The place had the most amazing empanadas. Our last stop was the town of Baños, where we wandered the town and visited the most amazing church, Church of the Virgin of the Holy Water (Nuestra Señora del Agua Santa). Definitely recommend this tour, and if you can request Carlos as your guide, you won't regret it.
We had an amazing time with William as our guide and David as our driver. We were able to see many spots. We were allowed to tailor our day to our interest. William would provide options and recommendations. The weather was rainy at the beginning of the day. We adjusted and did a tour of Banos during this time to avoid this weather during our cable car ride and walks to waterfalls. We saw many volcanoes as the day cleared. It is a very long day of driving. David did a great job keeping us safe. Quito/Banos traffic is heavy… so do not be surprised with delays. We are staying in Quito for 3 full days before Galapagos. I would recommend a longer stay in the area if your schedule allows. This option worked well for our schedule. We are so glad we saw the area and that William was our guide.
Most awesome trip. We had the best experience Swings Zip lines and waterfalls 11 hour trip took us to amazing spots. Great food great info Wonderful guide
Had a great time with Hugo. Didn't know in advance that I would been the only person but this was fine. I was able to chat in spanish all day with Hugo I'm spaniah as I am here in Ecuador to speak Spanish. Thanks Hugo for teaching me some new words and I taught you some too. We viewed the downtown of Baños, many waterfalls, took a cable car ride across a river, had a nice lunch. It is a long trip for one day and you.will spend longer in car than in Baños bit if you only have one day, it is probably worth it to make tge trip. It is a very beautiful area. I would say that the price I paid for solo should have included lunch. Also, I didn't like the restaurant we ate at. The people were rude and tge food was very average. Tour good though. Lots of information.
Andres was a great tour guide and knew a lot about the area. It was a fun-filled day. There is a lot to do in the Banos area. We did the trip in a single day from Quito, which meant a 3 hour drive each way.
We had the most amazing day! Freddy was so fun and knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommend this trip!
My fiance and I had an amazing time with our tour guide Wilson Tituaña for the Banos day trip. This is a private tour and although the activities cost is not included, it was still very reasonably priced for each individual activity and well worth it. The trip to Banos took about 3.5 -4.5 hours depending on traffic. He picked us up from our hotel on time, and spent the whole day with us: driving us around, arranging all the activities for us, pointing out and explaining geographical landmarks, and answering questions about Ecuador culture. He is very friendly and knowledgeable of local outdoor activities, such as whitewater rafting, ziplining, hiking, cable car, and cycling (bike rentals) alongside the roads of Banos. We were able to do all these listed activities because he set it up for us and we had a wonderfully adventurous day thanks to him. Wilson's knowledge of the entire place is unparallel and he is so considerate and went above and beyond. For example, while biking, he made sure to follow us to protect us from the cars and when he saw that I was extremely exhausted, he made sure to pick us up some Powerade. He also made sure to take lots of photos on his phone to send to us. You can tell that he is a genuinely kind person and he does his best to make it a pleasant experience for us. Overall, I highly recommend booking this tour.
Recommend this tour to people who may not have as much time to spend in Banos! If we had more time we would have booked for atleast 2 day tour in Banos. Freddy was an awesome tour guide! Banos was a beautiful town!
Wilson did a great job. It was so informative and fun. We had plenty of time. We enjoyed great food - saw alot of wonderdul attractions, watrrfalls, ziplining, the market.
Fredy was great, informative qnd friendly. His knowledge made this trip interesting and fun.All was seamles and program was amazing.
Waterfalls and Banos was fabulous. I would recommend a 2 day trip rather than one day. The downfall was our ‘guide’. Daniel was really just a driver. He did not point out names and history of different things on our trip. During our hikes he was so far ahead of us that we didn’t catch a glimpse of him most if the time. I give the guide a ‘1’ and scenery a 5. Note: this was a private tour too.
It's hard to say what was the best part, because we loved several things! Our guide, Raco, was incredibly knowledgeable. He taught us so much about the history behind each place we visited, making it even more impactful.
Our day was extraordinary from the beginning! Volcanoes, waterfalls, adventure and tropical rainforests! It couldn't be better, this day trip is highly recommend..!
Great trip! We were on the avenue of Volcanoes, saw downtown Baños, saw many waterfalls and even zip lined! Omar was our tour guide and he was excellent. He made many stops to show us extra sites, his English was excellent, he was very knowledgeable and a super friendly guy!
You must definitely take this day trip during your time in Quito! Thanks for a great day trip, and an unforgettable life-time-experience!
We had an amazing and fun experience with all my family at Baños. We had a tour guide, that unfortunately I don't remember his name, but he was very accomodating and friendly with us, and extremely engaged with our experience and expectations. Very recomendable to have a great taste of Ecuador only in one Day! Volcanoes, local people, adrenaline, adventure, good food and endless experiences! Thank you Ecuador Best Tours!
My review is looooong overdue! My boyfriend and I went to Ecuador end of June, and we booked the Cochasqui Pyramids, Rose Plantation, Equator Line, and Baños, Upper Amazon Tours! What an experience! Just WOW! Luis was our guide, and he is just the absolute best! Charming, tentative, caring, and super knowledgeable! Our trips were 2.5-3 hrs away, but the drives were filled with fun facts, laughs, and great conversation! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend booking and touring with Ecuador Best Tours. Cochasqui Pyramids, Rose Plantation, and Equator Line - Luis surprised us with calling over wild Alpacas! We got to pet and feed them! Amazing!!! Was gifted a beautiful bouquet of roses! Took a shot of pure bamboo liquor at the actual equator line. Baños and Upper Amazon - BEAUTYYY! Ecuador is just breathtaking all around, but to see their waterfalls… and the Pailon Del Diablo, was quite the experience. Tried cui (roasted guinea pig) out there and zip-lined. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience Luis. I appreciate you trusting my boyfriend and I to tour along with your son. He was the best tour guide. Until next time. <3
It’s a long drive to and from Banos but definitely worth it. Our guide, Wilson was the best! I don’t usually find zip lines that exciting but we did one straight thru the middle of a gorge which was very cool. Wilson took us to a quaint restaurant with these orchids hanging all over the ceiling in the lobby🤩🤩🤩. What a treat! The best was definitely the Devil’s Cauldron. Not sure why we don’t hear more about this place but I’ve been to many waterfalls but this one is spectacular in its ferocity and proximity!! I wished I dressed warmer for the day. The activities and lunch are not included in the tour but it was all very reasonable and worthwhile!
Banos was our first tour on our vacation. Our guide Wilson picked us up at our hotel. It was a 2.5-3 hour drive from Quito. The drive went fast because Wilson was giving great information on Ecuador during the drive. I can’t say enough about Wilson. He is AMAZING!! We spent a total of 3 days with Wilson and our children fell in love with him! In Banos we walked the town and tried some Guinea pig, my son loved it. My daughter jumped from a bridge, we rode a cable car, and sat on the swing on the edge of the world. It was a fun filled day. It did start to rain(it poured), so then I was unable to go to the waterfall I wanted to see. That just means I will have to go back and have Wilson take us again:). On our drive back to Quito we stopped in a small town and witnessed a traditional wedding ceremony. That was an unexpected surprise. It was beautiful. I love that our children were able to witness that. Thank you Wilson for a memorable vacation!!
I went with all my family to Baños de Agua Santa for a Day trip full of surprises and adventure, and we all got it! It has been one of my most unforgettable life experiences, especialy looking to my grandkids doing all those crazy adventure sports just in front of me. It was like I was doing it as well! Very recommendable for anyone who would like to escape from a big city, and take a great break from stressing daily journeys. I loved it!!
I can’t even begin. Amazon beauty is divine! We also did zip lining, waterfalls and zero G swing. The tour guide Andre was hospitable. We also had lunch at perhaps the best restaurant in Ecuador.
