I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in the heart of Quito. The interior was beautiful and felt like staying in a beautifully preserved colonial house, full of charm and character. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the historic center on foot. The breakfast featured delicious local food and was a great way to start the day. What made the stay especially memorable was the owner. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, and we had a very enjoyable conversation about different topics and shared interests. His hospitality made me feel more like a guest than just a customer. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a charming, centrally located place to stay in Quito.

Staying at Hernan’s hotel was exactly what we needed. A place that is comfortable, safe, clean and inviting. And, their homemade Ecuadorean breakfasts are divine. The quaint 8 room hotel is located in the old central district that is walkable to many restaurants and shops. If we needed suggestions and/or transportation, Hernan graciously coordinates them for us. Another suggestion is to book directly with the hotel as it allowed us flexibility when we needed to change our accommodations- we decided to add a room during our stay and luckily, there was a room available. Thank you to Hernan and Blanca for making our stay enjoyable and carefree.
I loved Casa Ecuatreasures. It is centrally located in historic Quito near the basilica. Hernán is a great host, very attentive and helpful. He will recommend places to see and how to get there with a map, answering any questions you may have. My room was the smallest in the hotel and was perfect for my needs as a single traveler
I originally chose Hotel Casa Ecuatreasures for its location in the historical center of Quito, which was spot on. Being within walking distance of the main plaza and churches was ideal for discovering the city. You're also a short Uber/taxi ride away from most of the other points of interest in town. We loved how quiet the neighborhood and hotel were at night, and, as two women traveling, felt more than safe walking around (although at night we'd stick to the recommended Uber/taxi rides). We stayed in the Fire room, and it was both comfortable and spacious. Truly, a room this size was unexpected! Everything was clean and comfy, and although one has to get used to not flushing the toilet paper like we do "up North", it never felt uncomfortable to have to do so. We also appreciated that breakfast was included, but little did we know we would get a locally flavored meal every morning! It was a lovely way to get a taste (quite literally) of Andean food every morning. Finally, I can't even begin to describe the level of hospitality that our host offered us. He was full of ideas, tips, and tricks on what to visit and when, and really, you can tell when someone has a real passion for hosting travelers. I've rarely witnessed this level of care when traveling abroad. I sincerely recommend this amazing boutique hotel if this is your first experience in Quito... or if you're coming back and want to feel right at home!
We booked the Hotel Casa Ecuatreasures over the Christmas holidays and we were so happy we did. It was like home away from home - except better! The hotel is a well appointed, beautifully decorated and cozy place, conveniently located in the heart of the historic district. It is a few blocks away from the Basilica, a major tourist site, and from the Plaza Grande and Plaza San Francisco, central points for centuries of history, cultural and built heritage and stunning architecture. There are dozens of restaurants, cafes, bakeries, shops and commercial and cultural activities within the area ensuring that you will never be bored or go hungry! Hernan is the consummate host, ensuring that his guests are comfortable, have everything that they need and are well fed! We woke each morning excited to see what would be on the breakfast menu. The breakfasts - usually prepared by Hernan - are specially curated to introduce his guests to traditional Ecuadorean cuisine. Always beautifully plated and with an explanation of the dish and its cultural significance. What seals the deal at Hotel Casa Ecuatreasures is the personal attention that Hernan pays to ensuring that his guests are comfortable, have everything they need and get insights into the places to go and things to do and see which meet their particular interests. Thanks to Hernan, we ate at restaurants we might not have discovered on our own, and had a fascinating visit to Fundacion Guayasamin, an art museum home to a large selection of the works of Oswaldo Guayasamín, one of Ecuador's most distinguished artists and sculptors. As we were suffering from the effects of the altitude and not our usual energetic selves, he curated and led a personal tour for us to Otavalo and its environs which allowed us to go at our own pace and to do as much or as little as we liked. The massage that he arranged for us with a masseuse who comes to the hotel was the perfect end to a wonderful stay!
