Tandem Hang Gliding

My first hang gliding experience, and I really, really enjoyed it. The hang gliding itself was an initial rush followed by a really nice view of the beautiful scenery. In terms of the operator, it was very well organized, efficient, and I had total confidence in the safety and expertise of my pilot. I found the hang gliding to be not just a novelty, but something I would consider doing on a trip to another scenic locale.

Skytrek were extremely professional. Their diligence to our safety meant we were relaxed and soaked up the whole experience. Tandem hang gliding wasn't scary at all, it was serene. My sons (15 and 17) loved it and their guides made their flight more exhilarating.

Hang gliding is not scary, it's so serene. Skytrek Tandem hang gliding were extremely professional right from the start, responding promptly to emails so that we could plan our trip around the weather and other activities. Our guides made us feel well taken care of. Their diligence to our safety meant we were relaxed and soaked up the whole experience. It was a lot of fun. My sons (aged 15 and 17) loved it and their instructors made their flight more exhilarating.

Incredibly well-organized and perfect for me as someone who’s never gone hang gliding (just paragliding). I loved this— it was delightful, exciting, and incredibly well-organized with exceedingly kind staff and guides!

Even though the day I was scheduled to hang glide was one in which it was going to rain, Ian helped me reschedule so that I could glide before leaving New Zealand. He was really accommodating over e-mail and a pleasure to speak to in person. Harry was an awesome and engaging driver who caught us up on what to expect by the time we'd be at the mountain peak. Personable and joyful all the way through. Pablo was a fantastic hang gliding partner. He brought happiness to the job, took plenty of pictures and video for me to remember this with forever, and did tricks with my permission. It was my favorite activity during my entire stay in Queenstown. Don't miss it.

Even better than my first hang gliding experience 1/4 century ago in Rio de Janeiro Brazil-that one lasted about 10-15 mins. but this one was at least 20. Ironically, my pilot here was Pablo-who is from Rio & learned his trade at the very spot I went from there. So if you can try to fly w/Pablo-great dude.

This activity is a harmony between you and the wind. An important aspect is balance; balance in your own power; balance between you and the wind. I hope you can try and fly like a bird.

My partner and I went hang gliding during our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. The whole process was really smooth from check-in to take-off. We were meant to feel at ease the whole time, and the pictures turned out great and were transferred to our phone on the spot!

UNFORGETTABLE FLIGHT! I chose a hang gliding experience and it was a highlight of my time in New Zealand. Every single person we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. They give you plenty of information beforehand and during so you know where to park, where to meet and when, and have a good sense of the itinerary. It was, fortunately, a beautiful day and we only had to wait a short while for the wind to cooperate so that we could safely launch off. Coronet Peak is a gorgeous place to overlook the valley. It certainly seemed like this was the best views you could get in the area! My guide, Pablo, was not only extremely experienced and knowledgeable, but also personable and engaging. I felt safe and comfortable AND was having a blast with his picture posing ideas!! He catered the flight to my preferences, so we did some fun turning maneuvers and he taught me about how the glider flies. This was an experience I'll be talking about forever, do not hesitate to add this into your Queenstown adventure bucket list!!

everything was memorable.. it was one heck of an experience!! i felt safe during the flite!! thanks to Ian!! would recommend it to everyone thinkin of doing it!!

I've done today my first Hang-gliding with Skytrek and what an amazing activity ! So much fun and adrenaline. Taking off from Coronet peak offers you an incredible view. You are flying over 2500ft, over these stunning mountains. The weather conditions were literally perfect and John my instructor was so friendly. I've been in Queenstown so far for 1 year and a half and done many activities but this one let me speachless. Thank you very much to all the Skytrek team for your professionalism and your kindness. Can't wait to fly again now... Totally worth it :) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. REALLY.

I had the most incredible experience hang gliding with Skytrek!! It was thrilling! Fly with Andrea if you can! He was an excellent, fun, and clear instructor. The flight was exhilarating from take-off, taking in the amazing view, doing some tricks (just tell them you want some!), and landing smoothly. Andrea also had great picture and video ideas -- you'll want them to take with you!

Not a breath of wind, blue skies, the driver and my guide said these are great conditions for hang gliding, so how could I not be disappointed when my airtime was at the max, 9mins? I had a great experience but when you’re thinking your glide will get near to the advertised ‘up to 20mins’ one can’t help but feel flat, no matter how good the experience, when you’re down in 8-9mins? Btw I’m 76kg pretty average I would’ve thought (if weight is even a factor into flight time duration). Advice, book a day or two prior and ask approx how long you’re expected to glide for in the given conditions. If I was told up front my glide time would be under 10 mins I would’ve given a much better rating.

Great experience! SkyTrek were very flexible and accommodating as I had to change the date twice due to weather conditions. Would recommend.

My brother and I went in April, we liked that this company starts from a higher elevation. My guide was Andre and he did a great job making me feel comfortable and making sure I understood the take off process. Once airborne he had great photo pose ideas. It is $60 for the photos.
