Scenic Guided Ebike Tour Ride To The Lake

This was the perfect way to start our Queenstown holiday. What amazing scenery and interrsting commentary for those who are new to the offroad Ebikes experience or an experienced rider. Our guide Shay is the perfect person to take you through some amazing landscapes, stopping occasionally and taking lots of wonderful shots, whether he was stationary or riding his bike. The commentary was enhanced by a two way walkie talkie so you didn't miss out on anything. The ride itself also catered for everyone regardless of fitness levels. My only disappointment was that it wasn't long enough. We will definitely be back to do the other courses available. Again thank you Shay.

Thanks for a fantastic experience! We really enjoyed the ride. Shay was an amazing guide and clearly explained how to use the bikes and handle the different terrain. One of our friends was a first-time rider, and Shay did a great job coaching her through everything and helping her feel comfortable. We loved stopping along the way for drinks and snacks to keep our energy up. The ride took us through beautiful Queenstown lakes, farms, parks, and various parts of Queenstown. The walkie-talkies made communication easy, and the route was both scenic and challenging. The photos and video Shay took were a lovely surprise and a much-appreciated bonus. We would highly recommend this experience for first time to Queenstown.

We had an amazing experience, our guide and instructor Shay was kind, fun and patient. The bikes were incredible and made the ride super easy and all the more enjoyable. We got to see beautiful views, hear a bit about the history of the land and the Maori people. Plus we got to move our old bones which can only be a benefit.

It was a great ride. Semma the woman whole lead the guide was terrific. I was a bit nervous at first but shevwas extremely patient and made sure I was 100% comfortable. The ride was really fun with great scenery. Highly recommend this tour!

Shay did an incredible job coaching me down some rocky hills! Would not recommend unless you are in good shape and have some experience with an e-bike. There was some driving on the street in narrow spaces.

Shay and Ksena run a superb, well organised professional outfit and their attention to detail is commendable. A full safety briefing and familiarisation with bikes precedes the experience, and we’re all provided with helmets, radios and a backpack with a drink and snack. Our guides, the lovely Alexa and the Rockin’ Jordan enhanced the ride, giving us guidance and some great local history about their beautiful backyard. I was literally flying out of the country straight after this trip and they could not have been more helpful. I highly recommend this fabulous company!

This is the best tour I have ever taken. It was a 3 hour tour. There were 6 family members ranging from 16 to 71 years of age and Shay our guide was fantastic. On the day we arrived it was raining, and he was happy to wait an hour until it eased. We were given protein bars and drinks. The helmets and gloves were spotless and cleaned after every use. I was hesitant with the big hills, but with Shay's encouragement I managed to do them. The scenery was fantastic. My husband and I have done multiple bike tours around the world and this was by far the best, absolutely incredible. My travel companion booked the Ride to the Sky Cycle tour rather spontaneously while we were still sitting on the tarmac before our flight departed, so there wasn’t much research done beforehand. After completing the disclaimer, I received a phone call from Shay, who thoughtfully suggested that the Ride to the Lake might be more suitable for our experience level. We really appreciated this and happily agreed. The tour ended up being a small group of just four, led by Ksena, who was excellent. She took the time to clearly explain the e-bike equipment, how to mount and dismount safely, how and when to use gears, and how to adjust the power settings. She set a comfortable pace, gave clear safety instructions for trickier sections, and shared lots of local knowledge along the way. The photos and videos she took were a lovely bonus. As visitors, we would never have found this route on our own — it was ideal, scenic, and perfectly matched to our abilities. Ksena’s guidance and instruction made the experience both enjoyable and confidence-building. Highly recommend doing a guided e-bike tour — it made all the difference.

Perfect e-bike ride for an intermediate biker. The e-bike’s were top notch, the route was terrific and Tom the guide was great. And of course the scenery was spectacular… like just about everywhere you go in New Zealand!

Ride to the Sky is a small family business that clearly goes the extra mile to provide a great experience for their guests. Ksena and Shay consciously fit us with just the right bikes and had us do a practice run on a paved lot before they drove us to the trail. Shay then guided us on an e-bike tour of exquisite countryside!! I mean exquisite! He was fun, informative, attentive to our abilities, all while capturing us in action with his camera.

Fantastic trip. The bikes were excellent, our guide, Shay, was considerate of each persons experience and confidence and always so encouraging, The route was varied and interesting, views wonderful. All in all a great trip, thank you.

A must do if you wish to see more to Queenstown than the typical tourist. Shea took us on bike trails all around the waterways of the area finishing at a beautiful view rarely seems by visitors

Absolutely awesome day doing the Ride to the Lake tour with Shae on one of our off-snow days in Queenstown. We've done e-bike tours before in Australia in the Byron hinterland and loved it, but don't generally mountain bike so picked the Lake tour as I didn't want to be overly challenged on the ride (47yo mum!) Had my 2 boys aged 16 & 18 along for the ride and we had one of the best family days we've had in ages. The bikes were super fun, comfy and easy enough to get the gist of. The route was varied with easy stretches along gravel paths, some fun tree-lined pathways amongst forests, lake side rides, bridge crossings and a brief section in residential area making the entire journey interesting and very very scenic. Shae was a fabulous host giving the right amount of guidance and adjusting to our groups' level. He made us all feel comfortable and gave great instructions so we could move at our own pace along the course of the ride. Would 100% recommend, and would love to come back and try some of the other routes!

This was the best experience we have had in Queenstown so far! Shay and Ksena were incredible guides, with everything well-organised and ready for us on arrival. Shay has a wealth of knowledge to share about the local area, which we appreciated as tourists. He spent time with each member of our family, giving us all a rich experience. This tour, lead by Ksena far exceeded our expectations. We were a family of 8 without much EMTB experience, and with Ksena’s guidance, we all thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Amazing route and scenery and we got to see so much more of Queenstown that we would have otherwise. The tour was amazing and set at a perfect pace for everyone in the group. We went to places that you can not see by car and may not even know they are there. A must do for all ages and types of riders.

Awesome, epic and beautiful. I cannot recommend this experience enough. Shay was wonderful and we learned so much about the area while being outside and enjoying the breathtaking views. My husband and I had the pleasure of doing this ride, on Friday, March 21. We had a fantastic guide who customized the ride to our abilities. My husband is a more experience mountain bike rider, and our guide, Jared showed him some more challenging parts of the trail, while I rode on the easier parts of the trail. The ride went through various types of trails, beginning with riding through a sheep farm, riding along the lake, through the trees, etc. The ride far exceeded our expectations! To top it off, there was a shuttle service from our hotel, which made it much more convenient. This ride is one of the highlights of our trip to NZ! Thank you to Ksena and Jared for the wonderful memories!

Stunning scenery. It was WOW !!Guide was exceptional he made it very interesting . We hadn’t ridden bikes of this quality before but found it fine. One of our best experiences in the South Island

I would highly recommend the tour, especially if there are people in your group without mountain biking experience. The paths are unpaved but relatively level, and the e-bikes made it easy to get up all the hills. We were able to cover a large area that's not really accessible to bus or walking tours, and the sights around the lake were beautiful. The guides also take pictures and videos of your day & share them via a link in the evening - at no extra charge!

Loved our experience on the e-bike tour! Our guides, Shay, Ksena & Tom were all super knowledgeable about the area, and in teaching me (a beginner to mountain biking), how to have a fun & successful ride. Half of our group went up to the sky which was a lot more challenging & the other part did the lake route, which was really chill, but still had some small up and downs and lots of different beautiful views of shotover river, Karawau river, the remarkables, lake wakatipu, etc. It kept me engaged the entire time & it was a really fun excursion. I highly recommend booking with them!!!

BEST e-bike tour I’ve been on!!! Our guide was amazing, the scenery stunning and the ride was perfect! The e-bikes they use were incredible- by far the best I’ve ever used. HIGHLY recommend this tour company and this tour - the best way to experience Queenstown.

We had a wonderful time with Shay for this tour. My family and I had originally signed up for the Ride to the Sky mountain tour and quickly discovered we were not physically equipped. Luckily, Shay was kind enough to pivot us to the ride to the lake instead for a more scenic and gentle route. It was so wonderful and the perfect way to end our Queenstown visit.

A fabulous family experience in nature whilst getting exercise and exploring the area. We all loved it including the teenagers! The company was easy to deal with, friendly and highly competent. Strongly recommended!

Shay and Ksena had been extremely humble, knowledgeable in understanding our group, our experience, our desires on the ride. Complementary pickup was on time and smooth. My kids had fun with Sapphire (their dog) on our way to event location. Drop-off was smooth and quick. Now Mr. Jordan. Our tour guide… he was the best what I could have hoped and wished for in this 3.5 hour “ride the lake” guided tour! He was extremely humble and patient with our group which was a combination of “over energetic dad” to “slow but cautious mom rider”. He being a great photographer helped us to get some amazing pics. He also being the local, the knowledge of the city and landscape of a mind blowing experience for me, kids and Ma wife. Finally, their ebikes (my first experience with these machines) were in excellent condition. Highly recommend this family run bike guided tour at Queenstown.

We enjoyed a great ride with Shay. We chose ride to the lake and the description was very accurate. The e-bikes were well maintained and made going up the hills a pleasure for a change. Afterwards we received an animated video showing photos along the route which was an added bonus.

The Couple owners were amazing! Tour felt personal and accommodating! The scenery was a must see! The guides took amazing pictures for memories.

MUST DO!! We had the ABSOLUTE BEST TIME! Even in the cold rain, Ksena and Shay were FUN, spirited, and entertaining from start to finish. Ksena picked us up and gave us an introduction to their husband-wife operation. It was our group's first e-bike adventure. Ksena provided us with gloves, an extra backpack, and drinks and snacks for our pitstop. The bikes were AWESOME, and Shay gave clear instructions and expectations. Shay took us out, gauged our level of experience, and gave great feedback and affirmations along the ride. He took us to Jack's Point, which was truly SPECIAL, even in the rain. We had amazing views, knowledgeable commentary, and great vibes throughout the tour. Shay made us feel comfortable and confident as we rode. He even helped me set up my GoPro on the bike and took fantastic pictures of us throughout the day. It was so refreshing to focus on the ride instead of worrying about taking photos. At the end of our ride, Ksena picked us up with towels and a heated van waiting for us. They are an extremely flexible and experienced team, tailoring each ride to the specific skill level of the group. We cannot recommend a tour with Shay and Ksena highly enough. Thank you, Ksena and Shay, for an amazing experience we will remember and cherish! We can't wait to come back for a wine tour!!

WOW I felt like a rockstar! The team was great, great gear, great instructions, great info, great trails. The tour linked up more than you could dream for. Snow capped mountain views, newborn lambs, lakes, rivers, architecture, sculpture, bridges. Best decision I’ve made in a long time. A MUST DO in Queenstown. I’m going back for the wine tour today!

Utterly amazing. We had the BEST time riding with Shay through the countryside, around the river and the lake. It showed us a whole multitude of different views of Queenstown and The Remarkables from different viewpoints. We got to see the most breathtaking views, riding on some easy, but fun, tracks. Being a family with two young boys, Shay adapted the tour for me (“mum”) to be able to keep up and the ebikes were top quality. He really looked after us and threw in enough history/local stories/geography to keep it interesting too. Do it! So worth it. A totaly highlight of our Queenstown visit.

Could not recommend this highly enough. I will be back for more! A magnificent way to see Queenstown and the surrounding scenery. The team thought of everything and were professional and well prepared (the herbal tea to warm up half way through was very much appreciated). The bikes were easy to use, safe and our guide (Shay) was considerate of all riders and their experience levels and took good care of us. I loved it. If you are doing a ride in winter, rug up - it gets colder than you think (we were provided with extra jackets and balaclavas if needed) However, it was a unique and fabulous way to experience our time in QT and i can't wait to go again.
