Queenstown: Pilot's Choice Helicopter Flight With Alpine Landing

This helicopter trip was the highlight of our holiday. Well worth doing.

Sam was a great pilot provide us with information during the flight, he chose to land on the snow where we had time to throw a few snowballs and take some fantastic photos. Ideal to do if you want a short flight or don’t have a lot of time we booked the morning of the flight as weather looked good.

What an absolutely incredible experience the Queenstown Panorama Helicopter Tour with Alpine Landing was ! This was the first time either of us had ever been in a helicopter, and also the first time we had ever actually touched snow, so it was a pretty special moment for us. Jono was fantastic, friendly, professional and made us feel completely comfortable from the moment we took off. Flying over the breathtaking Queenstown scenery and snow-capped mountains was something we’ll never forget, but landing in the snow was definitely the highlight. Getting out of the helicopter, standing in the snow for the first time and taking in those amazing views was just magical. Such a memorable experience and easily one of the highlights of our Queenstown trip. A huge thank you to Jono for making our first helicopter flight and first snow experience so special. Wear sturdy shoes, a warm jacket. Don’t need anything other than your phone for photos. Book the 50 minute glacier tour. Well worth it

Absolute fantastic team! From picking us up in town, to tricking us saying they were going to land where there was no snow and we actually landed in the snow, great pilot, we loved the whole experience and returned to Queenstown to our next adventure. Staff were awesome and we loved it thank you!

This trip was wonderful! Our pilot was great and very knowledgeable about the area. Scenery was fantastic! It was a neat experience walking around the snow covered mountains.

They called us early morning our flight was at 11. Winds changing as the day went by, so we got on early . Other wise we would not have gone. They waited for us . Amazing flight kind and friendly staff . Highly recommend

Amazing views and experience! Our wonderful pilot Charolette was amazing and was able to tell us a lot about the area as we were flying and when we landed overlooking Skippers.

So amazing! We did the pilots choice from Queenstown with Bill who was so great. We had three kids including a 4 year old all had a blast. He even helped the little bloke make snow balls at our landing.

Bill was my pilot and he was absolutely amazing! He was very welcoming and made the experience amazing! He took 10/10 pictures for me and even let us experience some g-force! The views were stunning and is definitely worth it!

Booked short flight via tour agency in Queenstown, which was easy, but unfortunately our first flight was cancelled and on second attempt/following morning time was shifted to a time that conflicted with already schedules wine tour . First cancel due to us two being only pax so not economical for them to fly, we had cancelled a boat trip to do the helo ride. Second cancel due to weather. Be aware if booking that you need to call 15 minutes prior to pickup time to check it is on then you find flight cancelled or delayed. As we are only here 5 days, we book 2 x activities per day; the cancelled flights meant we lost 2 x half days waiting around in case we flew. Recommend you book when you have plenty of free time to waste and be prepared that your flight may be cancelled or time changed, so don’t schedule other stuff. Weather is outside operators control and they are running a business so understand hesitancy to take off with empty helo. Booking company said 2 pax minimum, yet company still cancelled flight as not enough passengers so someone telling porky pies. Takes 1 minute to snatch your deposit and weeks to get it back. In hindsight, wish we did not waste time trying to do a flight as better ways to enjoy time and money.

This was an unbelievably amazing experience. My family and I were in awe at just how beautiful Queenstown is and to fully grasp the beauty of this area, these scenic flights are the only way to experience this. Positively speechless! The entire staff, especially Jazza the Pilot were so knowledgeable, professional and absolutely friendly. A must DO and highly recommended for anyone wanting to see and appreciate the beauty of Queenstown. 10/10!

Charlotte our pilot on the flight was very informative about what we were passing over during the flight. The views were astounding up and around the Queenstown Airport, and we landed up on top of one of the highest mountains at 5000 ft.

We’d missed out on Milford Sound flight owing to the weather (happens around 65% of the time apparently), so a helicopter trip seemed like the right thing to do! Another first for my wife (and me!) and we had a great time. It was only a brief flight, but the views were outstanding AND we landed on a mountain top for an extraordinary photo opportunity. Bill the pilot was awesome too, highly recommended
