The trip starts off in Queenstown Bay, as you sail out you will pass Queenstown Gardens and see Queenstown Central along the shoreline.
As the cruise leaves Queenstown Bay, enjoy a view of the tree-lined Queenstown Gardens from the lake. See this familiar landmark from a different perspective, with the surrounding mountains as a backdrop.
Cruise past Queenstown Golf Club along the Kelvin Heights shoreline. From the lake, enjoy a view of the golf course with Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains as a backdrop
The cruise reaches the historic Kawarau Falls Dam, where Lake Wakatipu flows into the Kawarau River. View the dam and surrounding scenery from the boat before heading back to Queenstown.
We then edge our way along the opposing shoreline where you can see the Frankton Arm shoreline where locals often frequent to enjoy the waters in summer and then back along the Frankton Arm Trail that takes us back safely to Queenstown Bay.
Nice Leisurely 90 minutes cruise with friendly pleasant crew. The skipper gave a detailed commentary during the tour and we could order some drinks and snacks for purchase. Overall a great experience

This is an easy going cruise which outlines the area, the houses and suburbs and the history of the Steam Boats. All of the information is given in good cheer by the Skipper and his first mate. They will receive good deal of information and will have the opportunity to have photos taken with the skipper and by him.

Absolutely awesome trip, knowledgeable and extremely capable crew in Jasmine and Tarnz. Really good to see a different perspective from usual and the coffee was awesome!! I highly recommend doing this cruise.

Such an amazing tour. Not as crowded as the steam boat tour so definitely much better cruise. The captain Tyler and hostess Tane (sorry if spelt wrong) were fantastic. Tyler gave us comentary the whole way and Tane was so bubbly and friendly, made sure we were taken care of with drinks and nibbles. Tyler also let us all have a photo op at the wheel of the boat. Such a great tour.

Tyler the captain who also undertook the commentary was superb . He had excellent knowledge and assisted passengers by taking photos making the cruise very enjoyable .

Captain Tyler did a really good job with everything, from he's speeches, to stories, to providing photograph in a reallt good scenic spots, as well as (Ann) the first crew (?). Overall it's a really enjoyable trip with a lot to look forward to.

Jasmine & Em made us all feel very welcome & comfortable on board. The cruise itself was very relaxing and informative. Em even distributed blankets to keep us warm while seated on the top deck. Very thoughtful.

We enjoyed it so much. The crew is fantastic; the hostesses are super nice and very friendly, as is the skipper, with informative commentary and good humor. Definitely, the lads enjoyed playing captain during the final part of the tour. There are blankets onboards, so grab one once on board, esp if staying on top of the boat. As it is winter. It takes around 90 minutes, and the tour is limited to one part of the lake. I believe it has to be, as the lake is huge! Besides, there might be a specific path for each tour, I reckon. The best part was that it was not crowded! So plenty of space; one could move around comfortably and change views with ease. Good value for money; I would definitely recommend it!

We took 2 cruises when we arrived in Queenstown NSW. Million dollar cruise is a shorter trip in the harbour but we learned a lot about history and Queenstown If you are someone who want to relax and learn about the place you visit this is highly recommended. It was happy and fun trip. The captain will stop to allow you to take a million dollar photo with the beautiful mountain as the backdrop. That alone is worth something.

We booked the Million Dollar Cruise in Queenstown for a family outing and it exceeded expectations. The host was brilliant — genuinely entertaining, full of local stories and history about the lake and the old steamships, and great with the kids the whole trip. They even had toys on board to keep the little ones occupied, which was a lovely touch we weren’t expecting. The views out over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables were stunning, and the boat felt comfortable and well looked after. The onboard bar was reasonably priced too, which made it easy to relax with a drink while the kids played. Would happily recommend this to any family visiting Queenstown — a great mix of scenery, history, and genuine hospitality. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Five stars all round!
The trip on the Million dollar II is highly recommended. The captain narrating the cruise was informative and very entertaining. Guests were given an opportunity to have family/group photos taken off the front of the boat with the stunning Remarkables in the background. Kids had a chance to drive the boat for a little bit. The on board staff were super friendly. With the winter chill it was best to retire to the cabin after an initial stint on the viewing platform.
Had a few hours to kill before our afternoon flight so opted to do the 90 minute cruise. It was very scenic with excellent commentary during the cruise. Good size vessel so you don’t feel crowded at all. Managed to get into lake locations that bigger operators wouldn’t be able to. Good close up viewing of some great nz native birds and shore lined mansions. Captain was great with the kids onboard, allowing them to have a turn at the wheel.
It was an awesome experience, one not to be missed if visiting Queenstown, the crew were exceptionly pleasant and helpful

We have done this little tour before. Captain is very nice and knowledgeable and GG was a great helper and kept us well hydrated with the mulled wines. Great way to spend 1 1/2 hours and to see the Lake from a different view.

The cruise was exactly what we needed as it’s our first time in Queenstown. Having a close-up tour of Lake Wakatipu with an incredibly knowledgable captain, as well as a few photo opportunities, was amazing. We highly recommend this.
The cruise was well organised and clean. Our captain Tyler provided humorous comments and created a fun atmosphere, he also used his photography skills to take pictures of each person a the wheel of the cruise which added to the experience. The cover over the back of the boat allowed each person to go outside despite the rainy weather. There was a great selection of food onboard and it was at a low cost which is unusual for these types of tours so I was very impressed.
A great introductory experience for our first day in Queenstown. It was a very scenic cruise and the guide was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The crew was also very accommodating, with drink and snacks available for purchase, and they got us excellent pictures with the Remarkables. Definitely a worthwhile experience.
