Queenstown Segway Tour

Kevin was very accommodating, had an excellent personality, was patient and knowledgeable, and knew his stuff. We had first-timers in our group and they all loved it and want to do it again, even at our advanced ages. Would recommend this tour for anybody wanting to see the sites of Queenstown, New Zealand for a nice and beautiful ride.

Kevin was helpful right from when we booked and was a terrific, patient trainer and guide. We had so much fun and it was a lovely way to see the Queenstown foreshore.

It was the best fun. Great tour of town and gardens. Guide was a fabulous teacher and knew when we were ready for the next challenge, but let us decide. Definitely trying to fit a longer one in before we head home. If you are here when it’s cold suggest gloves. Thoroughly enjoyable time.

Great fun. Our host Kevin was very friendly and highly experienced. Taught us how to manoeuvre the segways and after a little test, off we went through the Gardens, along the boardwalk past heaps of restaurants and sights along the lake, and then back again. Loved it!

Kevin was a superb guide. I did the tour with my husband, 18YOD and 13YOS and everyone had an amazing time. I highly recommend this as a fun activity with friends or family.

Kevin did a fantastic job explaining how to work the Segway. He was extremely knowledgeable of Queenstown and shared interesting stories. This was one the best experiences my husband and I had during our trip to New Zealand.

We had a party of 3 for our 2 hours tour with Kevin. Due to recent rain and floods our meeting point was changed. Kevin was advising us most promptly and we met with him in another location without problems. We all loved and enjoyed our tour with Kevin. There is a mixture of excitement and a bit of history and fun facts told to us. The segways are easy to operate and control. There is no stress at all to be on them and cruising around Queenstown, along the Lakefront and the Gardens. I highly recommend anyone of all ages to try this tour with Kevin. Best thing we have done on our trip!

Kevin is excellent at the way he does the basic training and knowledge of the local area. Having done a similar segway tour in Europe, Kevin completed a short practical training to ensure balance and control. We then left on the first leg where the segways were set at a slower speed to enable us to enjoy the experience and the sights. Regular stops to cover local history and details. The speed of the seways was increased to a faster speed for more fun and hill trails before the full speed was made available for a fast run along some paths. We had a super time that was only possible with a great host who made you feel safe using the segway while having a great time. This is a fun experience that everyone should try at least once. The setting in Queenstown NZ adds to the experience with the lake and mountain views making the perfect scene.

What an absolutely fantastic experience! We’re a family of four — Mum, Dad and two children — and none of us had ever ridden a Segway before. From start to finish, this experience completely lived up to all of our expectations and more. From the moment we arrived, Kevin was absolutely phenomenal. His welcome, tuition, patience, encouragement and ability to build our confidence made such a difference, especially for first-time Segway riders. He made sure we all felt comfortable and confident before setting off, which got the whole experience off to a brilliant start. And then we got on the Segways… wow! The tour itself was absolutely out of this world. The kids have already said it’s the best thing they’ve ever done! Kevin was incredibly knowledgeable about Queenstown and made the tour so much more than just riding around. There were regular stops where he shared interesting history and stories about the area, and he even made it fun and interactive for the kids with little bite-sized quizzes along the way. It was the perfect balance of fun, adventure and learning. The route was fantastic and took us to some breathtaking viewpoints, giving us an amazing opportunity to see Queenstown from a completely different perspective. All in all, this was a genuine five-star experience from beginning to end. We would highly recommend Segways in Queenstown to anyone visiting the area — whether you’re an experienced Segway rider or, like us, have never been on one before. An unforgettable experience, brilliant for the whole family, and something we would absolutely do again! Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Joined for a Segway tour with my partner on a very cold and rainy day but that did not stop us! Saw some beautiful sights and learnt some New Zealand trivia! Highly recommend

Kevin was an amazing instructor. He really instructed us well about the safety features and gave us a good trial till we all were were sure and confident about riding. My 2 kids 11 years old were also thought we'll and were very confident by about riding the segway once they were done with the trip. We did one hour and was a great experience.

Such a fun way to see Queenstown. We are 60 and have no problem using the segways. It’s was a fun morning. It was just a shame we didn’t have more time to do a longer Segway tour. The one hour tour was great. Kevin speaks Chinese and English. We were very impressed and everyone in the group had a really fun morning.

Our guide was also the owner of Segway on Q. He was friendly and told us the background stories of our stops. He always looked out for the group and made sure everyone was safe. Felt confident after our training pre-ride. Segway was so fun and the tour was a great time. Would reco for anyone in Queenstown!

A great way to explore beautiful Queenstown. Kevin was meticulous with his safety briefing and initial lesson, the best we’ve ever experienced having done Segway tours in Istanbul and Paris. We got to see places we weren’t aware of, such as Queenstown Gardens, and had a fantastic time. Highly recommended!

Kevin was a great guide! We had done a Segway tour seven years ago but needed a refresher course. Kevin's training before we started was better than our other tour guide in another country did and we felt confident and ready for the tour. He also gave extra instructions for specific situations we would encounter as needed. He chose a reality great course that showed us some amazing views and helped us learn more about Queenstown! The surprise try at Frisbee Golf at the end was fun too. It was a great experience and we would do it again! Thanks Kevin!

Kevin the guide was great, with lots of interesting facts about the history of Queenstown and the lake. My wife was on her first Segway trip and she handled it very well. And a round of frisbee golf in the gardens was great!

Kevin, our guide made our Segway Queenstown tour feel so effortless and genuinely enjoyable. From the very beginning, he was kind, patient, and explained everything so clearly that we felt completely at ease. We also had some time to practice first, which really helped build confidence. The Segway itself was surprisingly very stable, so even as beginners we felt safe and comfortable. It was such a beautiful way to explore Queenstown and cover so much without feeling rushed, including the stunning Queenstown Gardens. Kevin made sure we felt comfortable throughout and took us through some really lovely spots. Truly a memorable experience, and we’re so grateful to Kevin for making it so special by taking photos along the way :)

We took the 2 hour Segway Tour. Highly recommended. Kevin explained the operation clearly and checked our skills level. Took us across Queenstown stopping at good photo stops and stops to explain the local history. The two hours allowed us to explore the Queenstown Gardens which showed us an area which was new to us. Overall a great tour. Kevin was friendly, informative and we always felt he was looking out for us. When we come back to Queenstown we will do again.

We had a great 2 hour tour with Kevin today, he was full of local history and information, awesome way of seeing Queenstown, highly recommend for any age.

I took the first tour of the day on Saturday 7th March @ 9am. It was the 2 hour Queenstown Tour and I was lucky in that there were only 2 women on the tour plus me. That meant Kevin (our guide and owner) could dedicate more time between us and made it more manageable. Anyway, it was my first time riding a segway, but Kevin was brilliant and patient in showing us how to use it and it didn't take long for us to get the hang of it. So after a short training session, we were off and under way. Kevin took us along Lake Wakatipu, into Queenstown and around Queenstown Gardens whilst stopping at certain points to get photos and to talk a bit about the area. Overall, it was a fun experience and I'm definitely glad I did it.

We had a 2 hour Segway tour around Queenstown and had a great time! This was our 4th time on Segways and was by far the best. We saw some beautiful scenery, went up and down some big hills, and were allowed to go fast 😃 Kevin was very patient and relaxed and was happy to stop and take photos for us. I would recommend Segway on Q to anyone. There is a training/refresher session at the beginning of the tour and helmet are provided.

A Segway tour, especially when you first get to a new location, is a great way to get the lay of the land, see a large part of the city, learn interesting facts and have a fun time doing it. Kevin checked all these boxes! He spent the right amount of time getting everyone comfortable on the Segway in a quiet location before taking us off on our ride. He stressed safety throughout and even those who have never been on a Segway before truly enjoyed the ride. I highly recommend!

Kudos to Kevin Hey and his incredible Segway tour! Mr. Hey knows every crack in the concrete and every fact about the town and surrounding waterfront areas. Heck, I think he knows where every pine cone has fallen. At first I was concerned about two hours being too long, but this tour was so thorough, and so fun, I wanted more time! Kevin Hey is nothing short of a perfect guide. And, frankly, I think his prices are a too low for what is offered. Great experience. I can't recommend it enough. PS: Yes, choose turbo mode at the end!
