Unforgettable day at Aoraki – Ana made it truly special! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our tour to Aoraki / Mount Cook was one of the highlights of our time in New Zealand, and a huge part of that is thanks to our guide, Ana. From the very first minute, Ana's energy set the tone for the whole day. She was incredibly fun and friendly, and she made everyone in the group feel welcome and relaxed. Her humour and enthusiasm kept the mood high the entire way, and you could tell she genuinely loves what she does. Just as important, Ana made us feel completely safe. She was attentive, clear with her guidance, and always kept an eye on the group without ever making it feel restrictive. That balance of fun and professionalism is rare, and she nailed it. What really stood out was how Ana consistently went above and beyond. She was always doing the extra for us – sharing stories and knowledge about the area, finding the best spots for photos, checking in on everyone, and making sure no one missed a moment. She turned a great tour into an exceptional experience. The scenery at Aoraki is breathtaking on its own, but Ana is the reason we'll remember this day so fondly. If you're booking this tour, ask for Ana – you won't regret it. Thank you, Ana, for an amazing day! 🏔️

First and foremost, a huge thank you to our wonderful guide, Amy. What a bright, warm, and genuinely beautiful person she is! She took an already incredible experience and made it truly unforgettable. My mum and I joined the full-day Mount Cook tour together, and from start to finish we were blown away by the breathtaking scenery as we travelled through some of New Zealand’s most spectacular landscapes. I was lucky enough to sit up front with Amy and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her throughout the journey. Her friendliness, enthusiasm, and passion for the area made the day even more special. I had hoped to surprise my mum with a scenic helicopter flight but hadn't booked in advance. Amy went above and beyond to help make it happen, and thanks to her, we enjoyed what can only be described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We were blessed with the most beautiful clear weather for our 25-minute helicopter flight over Mount Cook. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and landing high in the mountains to take in the incredible scenery and play in the snow was simply magical. It was a moment neither of us will ever forget. Amy was even able to join us on the flight, and her kindness and thoughtfulness throughout the day ensured both my mum and I felt looked after and made the very most of every moment. This Mount Cook tour was truly one of the highlights of my trip to New Zealand. Now that I’m back home, thinking about that day still brings a huge smile to my face. The stunning scenery, the unforgettable helicopter experience, and Amy’s exceptional care and kindness combined to create memories that my mum and I will treasure forever. Thank you, Amy, and the team at Altitude, for helping us create memories that will truly last a lifetime. Highly recommended to anyone visiting New Zealand’s South Island!
What a spectacular day trip yesterday. Small group experience was great. So nice to meet new people and everyone was lovely. Our tour guide Inger was such a lovely lady and so very very helpful The scenery was amazing
The trip to Mt. Cook was a day we will never forget. James our drive was informative, patient, and helpful. We couldn't ask for a better driver and guide. Recommend this trip to anyone, any age.
It was my first time in New Zealand and the Mt. Cook trip was the first excursion among all others that happened on 7th October 2026. The trip was crucial to experience the culture and hospitality of this country for the very first time and as per my experience it passed quite nicely. The trip started on time and the guide Inger was very friendly. We were total 5 people excluding the guide and were from 3 different countries. Apart from experiencing iconic spots such as lake Pukaki, Hooker valley track and off course Mt. Cook from a distance, we felt like friends. I myself was pretty chatty and just bombarded the guide with lots of questions regarding New Zealand, the Maori people and even comparing the beauty of New Zealand with Patagonia. To my surprise it was a great experience and lot of additional information also that I learnt that day. The guide was kind enough to offer me an adhock pick up after I got exhausted during hooker valley hiking and was unable to walk upto the cafetaria. Lake Pukaki was picture perfect, so was Mt. Cook. During the return leg, we visited a salmon fishing farm with high quality raw salmon as well as Sushi was available for sale. Overall it was satisfactory and appreciate the friendly and accommodative nature of the guide. Would suggest few tips if those could be considered - 1. Allocating 20 - 30 minutes more to the Hooker valley/Mt. Cook hiking as there could be people of different age with different levels of mobility. 2. Provision of packaged drinking water/fruit juice on board the van as its a long trip. Thank you very much for the great experience. My name is Nirmalya Chakraborty (nickname Nirmal).
The trip was an excellent day with a wonderful and helpful guide. The cost of the trip was very reasonable and there were no unexpected charges or fees. The small group size on the vehicle was excellent and about right for this sort of trip. My only concern was the pickup location at the Bus Terminus near the Airport where there was significant roadwork taking place. There was no parking anywhere near this location and it was a fair walk from the nearest parking. I could not understnad why were were not offerred a pickup location in downtown Queenstown as this was offerred with other tours I had booked.
Really lovely day! Ana our tour guide was super friendly and knowledgable, and appreciated the pick up being right at the hotel. It’s a long day but worth it to do the full hooker valley hike. Thanks for a great day!
We had ANDY who was AMAZING! Very knowledgeable with a wonderful kiwi larrikin sense of humour. He drove carefully in the rain and then some snow. We had the best day! THANK YOU. * we had no cash for a tip, so sorry.
This tour was excellent!! James, our tour guide, was absolutely amazing. So knowledgeable, it's insane how he knows so much and is able to tell us about all the surroundings and history, really appreciate his kindness and professionalism (also helped that he's not bad on the eyes as well, not gonna lie!). The tour itself was fab, we were super lucky with weather (super stunning). Temperature in the van was perfect, smooth driving, great onboard WiFi, plenty of stops. Enjoyed the salmon farm on the way back too! Really happy customer.
Great experience, I saw an avalanche We stopped often for restroom stops & to buy food. Caleb was super friendly and very informative.
We had a great time with Amy, she was very accommodating and knowledgeable of the area. We did the Hooker Valley Trail and had just the right amount of time.
Fantastic well run tour hosted by Katy our Guide . Excellent knowledge of the stunning landscapes we visited . Katy was really enjoyable to spend the day with we really appreciated her professionalism.
This was an incredible tour - Caleb is the best guide I've ever come across and made the day extremely special and memorable. He provided fantastic advice and was engaging throughout the journey. The tour is well worth the price, as you are driven in a small but luxurious van to Mt Cook and back, with some great stops along the way. There is enough free time at Mt Cook to do the Hooker Valley track or 2 shorter walks. thanks for the phenomenal day Caleb and Altitude Tours!
We had an amazing day trip to Mt Cook with Ana! She was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole journey, and made the trip feel relaxed and enjoyable. I took a flight over Mt Cook, with a helicopter and ski plane experience. Thank you Ana for taking such good care of us and making the whole day so memorable. I would recommend this tour, especially if you are lucky enough to have Ana as your guide!
Whatever Caleb is getting paid, he deserves more!! What a great day and a great tour guide
Our guide, James, was very kind and great. Even though the helicopter flight was canceled, I still had a wonderful time on the Mt. Cook trip last Saturday. And I have a Mildford Sonds trip on yesterday, the guide was James , It was amazing trip as well.
This tour was the highlight of our NZ visit. Amy was a superb guide. She was very knowledgeable and helpful in booking our Alpine helicopter flight. She made the tour seamless even though everyone opted to do different activities at Mt. Cook. She competently managed all the drop off andd pick up times and was just a delight to chat with on the drive, while very competently navigating the way there. We would definitely do this again though Altitude.
We took the day trip to Mt Cook from Queenstown. The tour itself was breathtaking- just the drive was worth the trip. Our driver and tour guide, Amy was incredible. She was so friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help us book an extra item.
We had a fantastic Mt Cook day trip with our guide, whose name I believe was Elegra or goes by Emily on somedays 🤣. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, passionate about the tour, and patient throughout the entire day. Her enthusiasm made the experience both enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommended!
I joined this tour as a solo traveller hoping to enjoy the journey with some company, and it exceeded my expectations. A huge thank you to Sinchan, who was an amazing guide - friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience so much fun. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and I honestly wished I could have stayed there forever. Highly recommend this tour! And as a bonus... the guide is also very cute and definitely date material. 😉
It was wonderful a experience, and especially with kailen, he told lot of stories about Queenstown and bit of history. he’s calm and entertaining.
The trip was amazing and contained a few highlights, including the hooker valley trek and a paid upgrade option to experience alpine snow landing. Everything was smoothly organised and run by the tour operators (altitude) and our guide for the day, Sinchan, was amazing, helpful and super knowledgeable.
Tour to Mount Cook was fantastic. Lovely sunny day meant beautiful views both along the way and at Mount Cook. Walked to Hooker Trail for more great views. James and Nicole were great- friendly and informative. Altitude tours ran everything well from great communication before tour, pickup on time and comfy van. Will tour with them again!!.
We absolutely loved our Mount Cook day trip with Stuart and Caleb! We got lucky with a beautifully clear day and our time at Mount Cook and the Hooker Valley Track walk and Alpine Center lunch was perfect. Our guides had entertaining and informational commentary and we enjoyed getting to chat with them and learning more about the area. We even had time for a few fun stops on the way and got to see more of the landscape. We would 100% book with Altitude again!
Our first tour going to Mt. Cook was full of knowledge, smiles and laughter even when we were still in the van. SinChan deserves a pay rise, promotion and an award. He is such a passionate tour guide. His vibe is just amazing. We had a number of tour guides before but this man is just outstanding in all aspects. I can compare him to the host of national geographic. Communication/conversation Vibes Music Jokes No dull moments with this guy. Thank you so much bro!!! :) Keep it up Sin Chan!!!
Absolutely incredible day tour from Queenstown to Mount Cook National Park. Sinchan was our driver and tour guide and would absolutely recommend him. He was energetic, fun and very knowledgeable! The drive itself was beautiful as was Mount Cook National Park. As per Sinchan’s recommendation we did a 25 minute helicopter ride which was an experience I recommend for all! Landing ontop of a mountain and looking down at a glacier was incredible! Definitely the highlight of the trip
We had such an amazing time to Mt Cook yesterday. We made multiple stops along the way with the most stunning views. We were also lucky enough to do a 25minute helicopter ride which was such a bucket list moment. We couldn’t recommend our tour guide enough - Sinchan was so knowledgeable and made our experience so smooth and comfortable.
Beautiful view and friendly service! highly recommended! 🤩 We really enjoy the whole trip! Reason cost!
Did the tour to Mt Cook and option of 25 min yesterday 24 April. Tour guide Chelsea was very knowledgeable and ensured we all had a great time. Even stopped to get an awesome sunset photo on the way back to Queenstown. Recommend the Heli ride ! Bonkaz!
A well-designed trip with a lot of must-see places. Solo traveller friendly. Definitely recommend.
Allegra was a great tour guide- a literal Unicorn! My 19 year old son and I had a great time on the very nice van up to Mount Cook. We got some amazing pictures, good food, and a seamless helicopter ride! I would totally do it again!
My partner and I really enjoyed our trip to mt cook the day was packed full of great sights and experiences the hike was amazing and our guide Amy was exceptional and made the experience great for all would 100% recommend to anyone!
We had a great day full of exploring. This tour is a must. Amy our tour guide was very thorough and informative and kind! It was a very personalised tour as we got to choose from a few options. If you are visiting Queenstown you have to go to Mount Cook. The views and Hooker valley hike was spectacular.
This was an excellent- well organized day with great guides James and Mary. Walk at the mountain are beautiful with extraordinary views.
Absolutely wonderful trip. Weather was favourable so we felt a bit overdressed. Bring water with you and make sure you have good shoes. Mary and James were great hosts!!!
I’m very pleased with Altitude Tour! Was picked up on time. Allegra isn’t just a great driver - she’s a cheerful, upbeat Guide with a wonderful sense of humor. Even with heavy clouds and drizzles, she kept spirits high with interesting information and jokes! A truly great personality!
The scenery was fantastic! And Amy was very pleasant and informative. A little longer on mt cook might be nice. But that might make the day a bit long.
It was a beautiful day with the perfect number of stops along the way. I only wish I knew how strong the sun was because it felt much hotter than the stated temperature. Amy was a lovely and caring guide.
Huge thanks to Allegra for bringing us a fantastic Mt Cook tour. While enjoying the great sightseeings, we had learned some history of Mt Cook etc through her interesting introductions. She is so friendly and warm personality. I’m sure you will enjoy your trip with her company.
We had a fun, engaging and hilarious time with Steve as our guide! The view of Mount Cook/Aoraki was incredible. We ended up doing the Hooker Trail and after we opted to do the Tasman Glacier View which I’d highly suggest. Had an amazing time and the trails (although windy in some moments, so hold onto your hats) were safe and walkable. Would highly recommend!!
This is a great tour if you want to see beautiful South Island scenery on the way to Mt Cook. Our knowledgeable guide Stuart stopped at lookouts and points of interest during the trip which broke up a long drive. We enjoyed 3 hours at spectacular Mt Cook where we were free to explore various walks, a museum and visitor's centre. Being on a tour meant we avoided parking hassles at Mt Cook and could relax and enjoy the trip while Stuart, who knew the roads well, safely drove us.
An absolutely incredible experience! We want to give a special thanks to our guide, Amy, for making our tour to Milford Sound so memorable. Her deep knowledge of the area, her infectious energy, and her attention to every detail truly made all the difference. Beyond the spectacular scenery, we learned so much thanks to her insights. Amy is a true professional and an extraordinary person—simply the best guide we could have asked for! We brought wonderful memories back to Argentina with us thanks to you! — Fernanda & Victor (from Argentina)"
Excellent guide! Amazing sights, trails. Do the helicopter ridecas an add on, you wont be dissapointed. BOOK IT!!
Kevin was a great guide. Provided lots of information and worked with the group to tailor our time at the park according to our interests.
Very nice and flexible tour. It’s mostly the drive to Mt Cook which is beautiful and then you have 3 hours free time and the guide gives you recommendations for what you can do (many options). I did the hike up Sally Tarnes (no idea how to spell this) which has a beautiful view at the end of glaciers and a glacial lagoon, but is harder than it looks (lots of steep stairs). Our guide Kevin was very nice and accommodating and I particularly liked all the trivia about the Maori history.
Mount Cook tour was amazing. Stuart did an awesome job explaining the interesting scenery in the right amount of detail. The Mount Cook hikes were totally amazing and Stuart was flexible in making a great experience for all 16 passengers. Highly recommend. Top notch experience.
Not too long of a bus ride to and from Mt Cook National Park. Views of rolling hills along the way, and a couple stops of those, Lake Pukaki, and food/bathroom stops. Our guide, Allegra, gave us fun facts all along the way, and helped everyone to decide and get to what they wanted to do with the day. Can either just hike, like I did, or you can go on a smaller walk, or a plane tour, or boat tour.
Kevin was an excellent guide. He arrived right on time at the pick-up point and provided great information about Mount Cook and New Zealand. The bus was comfortable and there were stops for refreshment and photos. The weather was great which made it an excellent day for hiking. There was enough time to do the Kea Point hike and the Hooker Valley hike (partial up to the point where the trail was closed off before the 2nd bridge).
It's a long drive from Queenstown but worth the trip. Hike isn't hard and gets you to some incredible views of Mount Cook and surrounding area. Mount Cook is spectacular and there are many places that remind you of Lord of the Rings.
Thoroughly enjoyable! Our tour guide, Kevin, was very kind and informative! We enjoyed all of the breathtaking landscapes and our hike on Mt. Cook. Highly recommended must do if you’re in Queensland. Our complementary hotel pick up was much appreciated.
