Milford Sound Tour From Queenstown With Cruise

We were picked up by the lovely Adrian yesterday at exactly the time stated. The tour to Milford Sound was great. A lot of stops (toilet and scenery) along the way. Adrian was very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. We never felt rushed at any of the stops along the way. I would highly recommended this tour it was a pleasure dealing with the whole team Regards Maria & Brian

The day of the tour was cloudy with periods of rain enroute to Milford Sound. Our driver/guide Sam was a careful and safe driver, who checked on our well being on the winding roads. There were enough rest stop and scenic viewpoints along the way. Sam gave interesting information and history and interacted with the group easily with humour thrown in. The bus was spotlessly clean. On the return journey, Sam did his best to stop at viewpoints we had missed due to the rain. We saw amazing waterfalls, Kea, Weka and seals. The weather did not impact on our enjoyment of the tour as there were so many waterfalls in the sound. I really appreciated the small group size. The boarding process, reserved seating and pre booked lunch on the Milford Haven went like clockwork too. The muffin for morning tea was delicious. I highly recommend this tour from Queenstown to Milford Sound with Luxe if you enjoy the personal touch.

I had a really good day with Luxe Tour for the Queenstown to Milford Sound tour. Tommy, our guide and driver was amazing. I’m sure Luxe Tour knows that they are really lucky to have a guide like Tommy. He had really interesting commentary along the way that I didn’t sleep so I could hear all of them! Haha. Good driver also, did not feel sick at all. I had also good experience with Katelyn before the tour and she helped me with all of my concerns. I was worried before the trip that the boat would be overcrowded, but it was not at all and there were many spaces where you can go. Tommy also made sure that we were seated at our reserved table. The van also was very nice and I was told that they just got it from Auckland. The drive going to Milford Sound was spectacular, I haven’t been anywhere as beautiful. Milford Sound is truly otherworldly. So I’m really glad that I booked with Luxe Tour to experience this once in a lifetime trip. Thank you so much, Tommy, you’re the best guide!! Thanks Luxe Team!!

Luxury van, lots of loo stops too. Tommy is such a great speaker and a "font of knowledge". The whole day is easy to allow us to simply relax and enjoy our tour. Lovely little sign to help us find our table for lunch on the vessel. Nice to stop and see a parent Kea with 2 young doing what Mum does.

What a day is all I can say. Glad we did this tour and can’t speak more highly of it from start to finish. The van was comfy and stylish. The commentary was excellent. Tommy was a brilliant guide. He spoke clearly and has so much local knowledge and tips to enjoy in the area. His driving was smooth and we felt so safe in his hands. The stops were so memorable and absolutely made the day special. The pie at lunch was so yum make sure to pre buy lunch for reserved seating too. The muffin for morning tea was delicious too. Would absolutely recommend doing this with Luxe Tours. We are happy we did.

A wonderful day from beginning to end! Collection was simple and the bus is clean, spacious and comfortable. Our guide Sam was entertaining, knowledgeable and a fantastic safe driver.The stops along the way were great and all beautiful and a fantastic way to spot The Kea, Weka and Whio. The cruise was spectacular and we even managed to spot some dolphins and a magical twin fall. A magnificent day and definitely a highlight of our trip.

This was a trip that exceeded our expectations! Our tour guide Tommy was fantastic with so much local knowledge and made the trip so entertaining. The scenic stops we made along the way were amazing. The smaller van and boutique feeling we got was perfect. We had such a smooth transition onto our cruise which was incredible. Our pickup afterwards was smooth and enjoyed the trip back just as much! 5 stars and would recommend to anyone!

We chose Luxe tours because they are a family owned company. Every step of booking the tour was simple with great instructions for our pickup. Sam was our driver and he was such a great guy. Such a great asset to the company. He kept us entertained with his knowledge of the area and of New Zealand (as well as sky diving😂). We were never bored and stayed awake the whole way. All the stops had fantastic photo opportunities and we weren’t there with all the other bus tours. Sam made sure we all got on the cruise at Milford and was there to greet us when we got back. We opted for the flight back to Queenstown as we didn’t think I could manage the 4.5 hour ride back. As it turns out the bus is so comfortable it would have been fine but I wouldn’t have missed that flight for anything. The views are so spectacular and the pilot Corey made sure we were all happy and pointed out special things to see. The tour and the flight will live in my memories forever as one of my best holidays ever

Our guide Sam went out of his way to make sure we had an excellent experience. The van was very comfortable and he gave us some great info on New Zealand fauna and flora on the ride. It was so good to let him do the driving on those winding roads. We loved the boat tour also and got to experience the dramatic fjord cliffs.

The tour to the Milford Sound from Queenstown was a memorable experience. I was fortunate to have Tommy as my group tour guide for this trip. Tommy was really good with being on time and early with all of the scheduled pickups. He was very polite and informative throughout the tour. He always effectively communicated on what to expect and always made us feel relaxed and not rushed during the journey. The van was very clean and comfortable. Tommy was also a very safe driver. Tommy is a wealth of knowledge and I learned so much about the Milford Sound area and New Zealand. He's also very entertaining as well! I had a lovely day with Lux Tours! I absolutely loved the attention to detail that went into the tour. I felt safe and comfortable throughout such a long day. I really appreciated how Lux Tours went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. The muffins and gummy bears were such a nice and personal touch, and I thought that was really lovely and added to the overall experience. Tommy was our guide for the day and he was absolutely amazing. You could clearly see how passionate he was about what he does. His customer service was fantastic. He made the effort to get to know everyone, check that everyone was comfortable and make sure we were all enjoying ourselves. He even made the rounds throughout the day to take everyone’s photos, which was such a thoughtful touch. Overall, it was an amazing experience and definitely one of the highlights of my time in Queenstown. I would absolutely recommend Lux Tours, and love to do some other Tours with them the next time I’m inn Queenstown.

We had the most fantastic day with Luxe Tours on our private Milford Sound tour and would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering making the trip. There were just six of us, and having the private tour made the whole experience feel incredibly special. The van was so comfortable and spacious, and although Milford Sound makes for a long day, it honestly never felt like it. There were plenty of stops along the way and so much to see — we were even lucky enough to see keas and an avalanche! Our guide, Adrian, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and incredibly patient, and was particularly wonderful with the young disabled adults travelling with us. He made everyone feel comfortable and included and really added to the enjoyment of the day. Ryan especially loved Adrian's "dad jokes", which became a running joke throughout the trip! Milford Sound itself was spectacular and the cruise was a wonderful part of the experience. We also really appreciated having a table reserved for us on board — just one of the many thoughtful little touches throughout the day. From the delicious muffins (the savoury one was particularly good!) and gummy bears along the way, to the special gifts for Ryan and Michelle at the end of the day, everything felt genuinely thoughtful and personal. The gifts have even been named Adrian and Milford, which probably says everything about how much they enjoyed their day! From our first contact when booking through to being dropped off at the end of the tour, everything was seamless. We felt like VIPs for the entire day. Milford Sound is incredible in its own right, but having Adrian as our guide and travelling privately with Luxe Tours made the journey there and back every bit as memorable as the destination. A truly wonderful day and one of the highlights of our New Zealand trip.

Tommy was our guide for our Luxe Tour from Queenstown to Milford Sound and I cannot rate him more highly. If we could we would give Tommy and this company 10 stars. Tommy is articulate, passionate, knowledgeable, tidy, customer driven with excellent people skills. We felt very safe with Tommy as our driver. He is a local and knows the roads well. This is a long drive and I would not have liked to have driven ourselves. The cruise is run well and the booking system with Luxe tours is faultless. Highly recommendable Milford Sound Tour for all who want to avoid the large crowds. Luxe Tours is a family-owned, eco-friendly tour operator that uses very comfortable small buses with 12 passengers max. These can stop where the bigger tour buses can not - so we got to see more - and the whole experience is very personal, hassle-free and relaxed. Everything is perfectly organised from pickup to dropoff, frequent bathroom stops, there is free water in refillable bottles, sweets and even muffins. Our amazing and superfriendly guide Adrian was not only a expert driver, but also a great guy, giving lots of in-depth information on what we were seeing on the road, nature, wildlife and life in New Zealand in general, as well as answering all our many questions about his home country and generally providing us with everything along the way to make this a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable trip. The journey to Milford sound runs through Fjordland National Park, with numerous stops at wonderful spots such as Eglington Valley or the Mirror Lakes. We even saw Kea, the only alpine parrots. But the highlight is of course Milford Sound itself, where Luxe Tours cooperates with the Milford Haven, a very nice smaller cruise ship with great staff and commentary, which takes ample time up close to all photogenic spots such as the waterfalls. We even saw Fjordland penguins! Luxe tours has reserved seats inside and we had a pre-ordered lunch of pies and cake which was delicious. There are no words really to describe the beauty of Milford sound, one can only experience it. And we can not think of a better way as doing this with Luxe Tours, who charge a little more than the bigger operators, but provide so much more in the way of service, hassle-free organisation, comfort and personal connection to their guests! Being on their Milford Sound Tour was an experience of a lifetime and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!

From start to finish, the experience we have had with Luxe Tours has been amazing! The communication during the booking process was thorough and efficient. We had a cancelled flight getting into Queenstown and they accommodated our last minute re-scheduling request. The day of the tour, we were met with a very friendly guide, Tommy. We was extremely knowledgeable about the surroundings and shared interesting information as we went along the drive. He also told us everything we needed to know throughout the day, which made everything easy and relaxed. The van was super comfortable as well. I'll add another 5 star rating here as Luxe Tours deserves more than google 5 star rating. Communications prior to our tour has been excellent and responded to our questions really quick as well. Two thumbs up for Tommy for being an incredible guide and the knowledge he has was just outstanding. He made our tour very enjoyable and let us take our time to enjoy the scenery through the road trip from the beginning to the end. We never felt so relaxed when we do day trip tours. I strongly recommend Luxe Tours that provides comfortable ride and in a small group tour when you visit Queenstown and will definitely be using Luxe Tours again in future.

Our driver for the day was Tommy. He was amazing. We had number of stops along the way to Milford and Tommy was attentive and caring to all the passengers. There were mostly adults, but there was 2 children, although not young children. As a whole all the passengers did our best to make his day easy for him, as it is a long day. On the way back from Milford he stopped so our granddaughter could take a photo of the Kea bird. Tommy was communicative and pleasurable right up till our drop off as we were the last to disembark. I chose to travel with Luxe after a lot of researching the various providers and options. What appealed was the consistency in reviews, small groups and comfort. We traveled out with Adrian who was amazing, knowledgeable, helpful and clear in his instructions.. important as there is a schedule to make. The drive was comfortable with lots of breaks and opportunity to take photos. It was amazing. We arrived at the boats on time and on board Luxe have reserved seating. If you have pre ordered a meal it arrives promptly, meaning you can eat then head off to explore the boat and take photos. On our return Adrian met us, he introduced us to Ben who was to be our pilot as we had opted for the fly back option. Ben was just as helpful and professional making the trip smooth and just amazing. He pointed out things to see as we flew back on what was a clear day. On arrival in Queenstown the taxi was waiting to take us back to our hotel. Overall 11/10 for this amazing trip. What an amazing day visiting the 8th wonder of the world. We were picked up right on time from our queenstown accommodation before doing the rounds to pick the rest of the group up and we were on our way. The lengthy drive was made so much more comfortable by the number of stops we undertook stopping in Garston, Te Anau for morning tea, then Te Anau lake lookout, Eglington Valley (One ring to rule them all 🤣), Mirror Lakes, Monkey Creek (I think?) which was a glacial river, Homer Tunnel and finally Milford Sound. The cruise was amazing with a wonderful lunch served, bar service on board and reserved seating for our group. Milford Sound was gorgeous and something that needs to be seen to be believed. Dolphins, penguins, seals and waterfalls! After the cruise we boarded a fixed wing aircraft with Glenorchy Air and we turned that 5 hour drive back into 60 minutes with views that will take your breath away. DO NOT SKIMP OUT! If you can afford it you need to fly back and I believe it was very reasonably priced. After a magical flight back seeing glaciers and snow capped mountains from above we landed smoothly back into queenstown where we were shuttled back to our accommodation.

Brilliant tour and the best way to see Milford Sound. Tommy our guide is a legend with heaps of interesting insights and the van was very comfortable. For the small cost difference between these guys and the big bus tours, just do it, it’s a long day to be in an uncomfortable commuter bus with 100 other people.

This was the highlight of our week in Queenstown! It’s a very long day, but a fabulous day! Our guide Tommy was very personable, friendly, approachable, and full of lots of different bits of information! My only criticism of the day was I thought the nature guide on the boat (Hayley?) sounded distracted and wasn’t always professional, but that is out of Luxe Tours control.

We had a great day with Tommy, very informative and caring. We found the drive absolutely ok, very relaxing and comfortable so don’t let the long time frames put you off. Plenty of stops to keep you enthused.

It is a long journey, but the luxury coach was incredibly comfortable with plenty of room to stretch out.Our guide, Adrian, was absolutely fantastic! having less people compared to a tour buses meant the entire experience was very comfortable (we had time to truly enjoy each site and take photos without being rushed etc). the whole day just felt comfortablr and well organised. the guide tommy was also very friendly and his commentary about the sites etc the entire day while driving was genuinely so interesting and informative. would highly recommend

We recently did this tour from Queenstown to Milford Sound and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The scenery was incredible, but the real highlight of the trip was our tour guide, Adrian. Adrian, was friendly, highly informative, funny, and just an all-round legend. He made the whole journey enjoyable from start to finish and really added so much to the experience with his knowledge and personality. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does. The smaller sized group made it possible to stop at different locations along the way which made it much more personal. We highly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed.

Luxurious, relaxed, client centred, glorious views, the drive there alone was worth it with the Milford sound boat ride a wonderful addition. Adrian and the team made it very easy and an enjoyable, informative and memorable highlight of our trip to NZ. Highly recommended. Value for money.

OMG! Where do I start? First of all to apologise it’s taken me so long to write a review - certainly not because the service wasn’t amazing!! I cannot praise and thank Adrian enough. There is nothing I can write to describe how amazing our trip to Milford sound really was; one of the best days and our favourite part of our trip to NZ. And that was all thanks to Adrian. We couldn’t have been luckier to have such a lovely, kind, thoughtful, funny, entertaining and truly wonderful guide. Adrian went above and beyond for us - with the entertaining and informative info and stories he had, the way he checked in with us to see if we were enjoying ourselves or if we needed anything, the way he never once complained about being asked to take a thousand photos for me, and the way he just made our tour absolutely amazing. It snowed on our trip and I have to praise him also for his careful and responsible driving - we felt extremely safe with him. It was such a long day, but we didn’t want it to end and would have been very happy to stay on the bus for longer 😊 Honestly, this day made our NZ trip amazing. I’m so happy I chose to go with Luxe tours. I loved the way they seemed to genuinely care about the place and their customers, and I was so right! And their vans are so luxurious, spacious and comfortable - especially with such a long day’s travel. What an amazing day touring Milford Sound! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking - stunning mountains everywhere you looked, beautiful waterfalls cascading down the cliffs, and views that felt like something out of a movie. Our tour guide was so friendly, informative, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable with their knowledge and great sense of humour. A truly unforgettable day and one of the highlights of our trip!
