Milford Sound Scenic Flight From Queenstown

From our friendly pick up, all staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The process of our trip was explained clearly. The actual experience was fantastic, our pilot was friendly, knowledgeable about the area and put us at ease. Would highly recommend to others.

It was great! Great views very close to all the mountains. The cruise was also nice. Everything was also very well organised. Transfer came at the exact time, check in was super quick, no long waits at airport or cruise terminal

It was outstanding. We had to wait for a clear weather window (so build flexibility into your schedule) but it was worth it. The pilots provided a great commentary and obviously knew the area well. We tagged on a Milford Sound cruise which only added to the experience. We were lucky to have some dolphins join us briefly too! Highly recommend.

Very knowledgeable about the area and what we flew over. Swapped us around for the second flight so we had different views and perspectives. Highly recommend this tour!

This company destroyed my whole vacation in New Zealand. I arranged all my flights, hotels and so on, based on this scenic flight from Queenstown to Milford Sound (which was the main attraction in New Zealand). They informed me 15 minutes before the scheduled flight that they cancelled the flight. I called them in order to arrange a flight for the next days and they told me that they are fully booked for many days and they refused to get us in one of their flights, giving no explanation. Don’t rely on this company! My advice is to go by car in Milford Sound, because we didn’t have the time to go and we haven’t seen this amazing spot.

All the reviews I read were 100% true. These guys are organised, friendly and experienced. My partner, Ian who is not keen on small aircraft didn't have a worry in the world and kept shaking his head in awe. True professionals who know how to get the whole experience right. A life affirming, incredible flight where we felt we could reach out and touch the icing sugar snow capped mountains on the way to the most stunning Milford Sound. I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it. Thanks Andy for being the perfect host and pilot. Don't think about it for another minutes, JUST BOOK IT! You won't regret it. Oh, and keep an eye out on the way in and out because I also saw a pod of dolphins on the way out. Thankyou thankyou thankyou.

The Staff were friendly and helpful. Our Pilot Jared was fantastic. Gave us a great insight into a part of the country we have never been to. His co pilot hasn’t stopped talking about her best birthday present ever lol. Will definitely be spreading the word and will be back again soon hopefully.

This was a retirement treat for me and what a treat it was! The only way to truely appreciate the vast snow topped mountains, as well as Milford sounds. A breathtaking, spiritual experience. New Zealand is astonishingly beautiful. Ben was a fantastic pilot and the whole team efficient and able. It is not a cheap option but the weather was a blessing and we had a once in a lifetime experience.

We had an amazing flight and cruise. We had had to rearrange our trip due to bad weather, and although initially disappointed, MSSC fitted us in perfectly and even organised perfect weather! Thank you so much for such a memorable trip.

Made for a nice day, as it was quick to get to Milford Sound from Queenstown rather than a long drive. Scenery from the plane was breathtaking.

Beautiful flight was great to see Milford Sound and the surrounding area by air. My initial booking was cancelled due to the weather, the staff was extremely helpful throughout and were able to find a way to make the trip happen. Amazing flight and great customer service!

Although we didn’t make it to the sound due to weather rolling in from the Tasmin Sea, the pilot took us on an exquisite sightseeing journey over the area around Queenstown.

Flight was going to be iffy coming back so the cruise portion was canceled. The scenic flight was just beautiful, MSSF helps us book a cruise and bus ride back to Queenstown because we didn’t want to miss this cruise. We came all the way from the US after all. We had lead pilot Andy on the way and he oII out and explained all the good stuff. Just loved every minute. Don’t hesitate just go.. Weather can be problematic so keep an open mind.

Wow - what a way to see one of the most beautiful places on this earth. The staff and pilot were friendly and professional. The plane was a 12-14 seater Cessna and its size allowed the pilot to fly comfortably through the valleys and fjords. We feel so fortunate to have seen this part of lovely New Zealand.

After hearing about Milford Sound and how it is a “must-see” place, my husband and I knew we needed to go. We get a little motion sick so we didn’t want to take a bus and had been worried about the flight, but let me tell you now this is easily one of the BEST things we have ever done! Our pilot Evan was so lovely and the ride was super smooth. It was a gorgeous day (if they don’t fly because weather, which does happen a bit, they give you a refund) and we have never seen anything so stunning before. If you are wondering about a flight option just save some research, go ahead and book one now!

The team at Milford Sound Scenic Flights were friendly and professional, and the over flight was incredible. Seeing Milford Sound from the air gave a whole new perspective and appreciation of how vast the mountains are, and how lucky we are to have such beautiful scenery on our door step. We were scheduled to fly to Milford Sound and take a boat around. Unfortunately the weather played up but we were able to fly to the Sound and over the Southern Alps. The views are breathtaking and I found myself marveling at creation. This trip is certainly worth the cost.

Visited in August and we were meant to be doing the fly cruise fly experience but it was cancelled so we managed to get on another flight that afternoon to do the Milford sound scenic flight. The views were amazing and the pilot was very informative about where we were. Definitely recommend

My partner and I had the flight of a lifetime with Milford Sound Scenic Flights. We had been to Milford by car but this was the icing on the cake/snow on the mountain to see the amazing landscape from the sky. We were so impressed with all aspects of the trip from our hotel pick up to check in and then our flight! The plane is very tidy and the windows are extremely clean making it easy to capture great photos. Our pilot was very friendly and gave an informative commentary during the flight. Views are breathtaking and you get very close to the mountains. Highly recommend.

Great value for money flight from Queenstown to Mt Aspiring. So many snow covered mountains, lakes and rivers. Pilot Andy gave good commentary which was helpful to know where we were. Absolutely recommend

We had arranged to get collected from our hotel, within the email we were told we would be called if they could not find us. Nobody phoned us and the taxi had left without us! When we’re then made to feel like this was our fault as they didn’t have our phone number even though it was on the booking!! Who we spoke to on the phone was extremely rude also. This then ended up costing more to get a taxi to the place. The flight was great and our pilot was amazing. Bad start which put us in a bad mood for this flight with no apology at all.

Doing a Milford Sound flight is an absolute must when coming to Queenstown. They say its one of the most scenic flight in the world and it did not disappoint. The flight was absolutely breath taking! We had a small group, and everyone chatted and had a great time. Our pilot Katie was absolutely fantastic! I went with my flattmate and we both were in awe the entire time. The flight was smooth and the weather was perfect! I honestly wish I exchanged contact information with some of the people I met along the way— we had such a blast!

This was an unforgettable trip. It’s the only way to travel into Milford, as it avoids a tortuously long coach-ride from Queenstown. You arrive after a spectacular flight over fjords and mountains, fresh to enjoy the near-empty first cruise of the day. You can smugly head back to the skies just as the coach-travellers wearily drip in after their four-hour slog. As with all flights, they are also at the mercy of the weather. Our original flight was cancelled, because of low-cloud coverage. But we happily hopped onto the next day's trip, which, as you can see from the pictures, was gloriously sunny. But make sure you don't book your flight on your last day in Queenstown; New Zealand weather is very unreliable.

You will definitely enjoy this. Lifetime experience which you will never forget. This is must see event. Either you can take the bus ride to Milford town and fly back or you take the Milford sound bus tour on one day and the next day you can take the plane ride from Queenstown Airport. I know it is on the expensive side, but this is a once in a life time ride, unless you are a frequent traveler to Queenstown. You will certainly not regret it. Enjoy

We booked a tour on 6th Sept '18 for a Fly-Cruise-Fly. Trip was worth it as we would have gotten to see more at a much lesser time compared to an 8-hr coach (return). The trip took a bit longer than 4hrs in total. Take the 10am (or before) flights to avoid the crowd from the coaches arriving at the Milford Sound Ferry Terminal. 5*s for Michael. Michael was our guide and pilot for our trip to Milford Sound. Michael was a very friendly and experienced. While we were flying over the mountains and valleys, Michael was very detailed in his explanation/description of the scenery and venues where recent movies (Mission Impossible, LOTR, etc.) were filmed.

I had visited Milford Sound already however the scenic flight was a totally different experience! Flight over Queenstown, the Mount Aspiring National Park and Milford Sound was amazing! The scenery was beautiful and as the plane is very small, not one is fighting for the window seat! Highly recommend it as the very knowledgeable pilot also guides throughout the flight.

By far one of my favourite activities done in New Zealand ! The overflight with a 30-40 min landing in Milford to have a look around then fly back was AMAZING ! I’m so happy the weather pulled through and thanks to the team in the office (Victoria & Simon) for making things happen !!!

We were supposed to do the fly-cruise-fly tour but because of the weather we flew, walked around for 30min and flew back. It was still a wonderful experience and we are glad we were able to do it. The arrival on Milford sound is gorgeous and flying above the southern alps was really fantastic. The pilot was very nice as well and was showing us what was around.

We booked the flight on recommendation from friends. Wow so glad we did, the flight in total was nearly 1.5hrs as we were lucky that we had to pickup some retuned passengers. Our pilot Ryan was fantastic, we saw views that you would never see from ground level, we saw glaciers we flew over mountain ranges and then into Milford Sound where we saw lots of boats (which is why we chose the cruise on Doubtful). Then we returned and flew back over mountains again and saw Queenstown from high, A real must if you can afford it.

We left a pair of glasses and tried to contact them but calls drop to voice mail, no call backs after leaving voice mail. I guess they don’t really care once you are landed.
