Milford Sound Flight And Cruise Tour From Queenstown

Wow, what a fantastic tour! Had to wait a couple of days due to weather but it finally cleared up. Tanmay is a great, safe pilot, and had a lot of anecdotes to share and pointed out many landmarks. Views were absolutely stunning. Cruise was great too, that wind was freezing up top for the best views but the decks below are heated so can go back and forth. A little scary being up in the small plane for me, but everything was run so safely and professionally. Not that many tours I would take the time and money to do again but this one I want to go on again. Fantastic.

Wow, wow and wow!!! What an amazing experience. Flew back to Queenstown after our Milford Sound cruise with our pilot “Dan the Man” who made our flight very exciting knowing that he had full control of his stick. Then our wonderful chauffeur, Jack, who knew how to manoeuvre his rig, delivered us safely home. Would thoroughly recommend and give 5stars +++++. The 4 girls from Down Under 😊

Brilliant experience, we had a terrific pilot Luke who gave great commentary along the way on the flight and also made us feel safe. The cruise was also great with the spectacular scenery - overall a fabulous day.

This was a wonderful way to visit Milford Sound. The flight from Queenstown and return after the cruise was absolutely incredible, especially in the capable hands of our friendly pilot Luke. The scenery flying over the snow capped mountains was absolutely awe inspiring. The cruise in Milford Sound was relaxing, and we were kept well informed by the Captain with interesting information about it ,along the way. We were fortunate to spot some fur seals and penguins in the Sound, which was another bonus. This is a trip not to be missed…. Loved every minute of it!

I've wanted to see Milford Sound since childhood. Flying in and out took it to the next level! The scenery from the air is jaw-dropping. The staff were friendly and professional, both in the plane and on the boat.

The view from above was breathtaking. It definitely exceeded expectations. The whole team were very professional from start to finish.

The flight to and from Milford was amazing and I think it was better than driving because it takes only a fraction of the time and is very scenic. The cruise around the sound was also lovely and the ship is nice and has good views and nice snacks. Shoutout to Tru Flights and Michael and Sam for making the experience great! 😎

Our pilot Andrew was super cool, great commentary. Everything was smooth and well-organized. Sorry to set your expectations so high, but the route through the mountains and around the sound is hard to beat anywhere. I'm sure routes change with conditions but I like how he took us a different route back so you can see another area. So glad we ponied up and skipped the bus.

As a Captain on. Boeing 787 Dreamliner I was super impressed with the pilots and their skill, knowledge and professionalism. Jason was our pilot for our experience and he was supremely capable and made the flight for myself and my family unforgettable. I would be remiss to say that this kind of experience is singular (even after 1000s hour of my own flying time) in its indescribably beautiful terrain over, between and through mountains and fjords. The boat cruise down the fjords was equally spectacular!! The whole experience is a must and myself and my family will cherish the memories. I wish Jason, Josh, Sam and the rest of the pilot staff at True North the very and absolute best in their future flying careers!!! Fair winds and blue side up always boys!! Cheers

We had an amazing experience, we booked the early 8am flight, weather was stunning blue skies, staff were excellent, we all had a window seat for the view. The boat cruise was great, we had calm water with only a few boats due to being there early (before the tour buses arrived).

Amazing flight into Milford Sound by Josh. The scenery was just stunning from the air. Then a cruise along Milford Sound and we spotted Penguins and Seals. Then a flight back to Queenstown again by Josh. Throughly enjoyed this trip and would highly recommend

Tell me someone who’s seen better scenery and I’ll point out a liar! Amazing service from all, plus Mike let me sit on the cockpit. The journey on the plane is breathtaking, the boat and staff were all friendly. Saw the best views of my life, plus penguins and a seal. It was my first solo excursion ever and I loved every second. Don’t even think about skipping this trip.

Wow, what a day! Literally the best day we have had in a long time. Luke was our pilot and was absolutely amazing, extremely knowledgeable and let us sit in the front next to him (don’t miss this opportunity if you get the chance)! The views were out of this world and we couldn’t recommend this trip enough. Thank you True South for the best day!

A fabulous to start to our NZ experience. Great flight and boat cruise with the wonderful Tanme.

Amazing experience and only a couple of niggles. The coach journey took longer than necessary and everyone was over it by the final stop. Too many stops. The food on the cruise was really awful, most people did not eat it. Serving chocolate crisp and a pie is out of step with what people want to eat these days. The flight back was incredible and the only way to return. Guides were fab. All modes of transport very good standard. No WiFi across any of it however and really again out of step with what people want or need.

From the moment we were picked up to the drop off we had the most wonderful and memorable tour. Service perfect, great Flight and Cruise. Lilly our Pilot was brilliant and we would have changed nothing - a day to cherish and remember for a lifetime! Thank you True South....

The flights are nice and the view is amazing. Unfortunately, we did not board the cruise due to the weather. Instead, the pilots guide us to a short walk by Milford Sound and we still got some nice photos there.

My son and I booked this packaged as a way to get the views and get to Milford Sound without the road travel. Turned out far better than expected! Michael's knowledge and the way he explained the history, geography and sights of the mountains was what made more than just a flight. Learnt so much before we even got to the cruise, and then learnt even more on the flight back. Would recommend this to anyone, such a great day, skip the drive, and see the most amazing scenery.

An absolutely magic few hours flying into Milford with a cruise around the sound. Once in a lifetime experience and something that should be everyone’s #1 thing to do when in Queenstown. Would absolutely go again, particularly shout out to our pilot Lily who made for a great flight!

Awesome experience that I would recommend anyone do. The staff were amazing and the communication top notch. The scenery was breathtaking as we flew over the snow capped mountain range and descended into Milford Sounds. The cruise around the fiord was spectacular with cascading waterfalls, unique wildlife and sheer, rugged mountains. A must for anyone travelling to NZ

What an incredible experience! Our day exploring Milford Sound with True South was easily one of the highlights of our Queenstown trip. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, from the towering mountains and waterfalls to the spectacular views from the air. It’s one of those places that photos simply don’t do justice. A special mention to our driver Sam and pilot Luke, who really made the day memorable. Both were fantastic, friendly, professional and clearly passionate about what they do. They made the whole experience relaxed, enjoyable and something we’ll remember for a long time. The entire day was well organised and a fantastic way to experience one of New Zealand’s most spectacular destinations. If you’re considering a trip to Milford Sound, we couldn’t recommend True South highly enough!

A superb trip to remember forever. Dan our pilot was amazing and so knowledgeable about all the places we saw on our journey. The snowy peaks and glaciers were unbelievable. Travel in the cockpit spare seat if you get chance, it was incredible. And the cruise was great too, especially the scenery and the wildlife - dolphins, seals and penguins.

An absolute 10/10 experience with true south flight. The views over the Southern Alps and the fjord were breathtaking, but what made the trip truly special was the crew. Huge shoutout to Josh! Not only was he an incredible, smooth pilot and knowledgeable guide, but when he found out I’m an aspiring pilot, he invited me to sit in the co-pilot seat for the return flight to Queenstown. Seeing the approach and landing from the front seat was a dream come true! Very professional team, great fleet (flew on the GA8 Airvan ZK-SLQ with guaranteed window seats and unreal views), and top-tier service. This plane was also quite small which allowed a small group of 6-7 people. Highly recommend True South to anyone visiting New Zealand! Louis

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely incredible experience! We did the Fly–Cruise–Fly to Milford Sound with True South Flights today and it was honestly one of the highlights of our entire New Zealand trip. Everything was so well organised from start to finish and the plane was immaculate and comfortable. Our pilot Michael was absolutely amazing — friendly, professional and knowledgeable, and he made the whole experience even more special. I was lucky enough to sit beside him in the front both there and back, which was such an incredible experience! The scenery was out of this world — flying over the mountains, snow and glaciers into Milford Sound was something we’ll never forget. The cruise itself was beautiful too, and we even spotted a seal and a penguin. We did this on our 20th wedding anniversary and couldn’t have picked a better way to spend the day. ❤️ Highly recommend True South Flights and especially Michael. An absolutely unforgettable experience from beginning to end!

It was stunningly beautiful. Nothing quite beats seeing the snow capped mountains from the air. Worth the money for the time saved to enjoy the best of everything and not take out a whole day. Guides on flight and boat were great if you can I would definitely recommend it!

Huge shoutout to Jason, our pilot, for making our Milford Sound trip such a blast; your communication was fantastic, and your passion for the work really shone through. We felt so incredibly blessed to have spotted dolphins, a Fiordland Crested Penguin, and a New Zealand Fur Seal during our cruise! True South is a first-class operator! Even though our initial trip got cancelled due to the weather, we made it the next day, so if you book any weather-dependent activities in Queenstown, definitely leave an extra 2-3 days for that reason.

From start to finish, the entire process was completely seamless. Everything was so well organised and effortless, which meant we could just sit back and take it all in. The flight through the snow-covered glaciers was honestly one of the most incredible things we’ve ever experienced..the scenery was completely surreal. Towering mountains, endless glaciers and views that genuinely looked too beautiful to be real. And then arriving in Milford Sound and experiencing the cruise was something so incredibly special. The combination of flying through this spectacular landscape and then seeing Milford Sound from the water was just unforgettable. Without a doubt, one of the absolute highlights of our time in Queenstown. If you’re considering doing this, DO IT! Worth every cent and an experience we’ll be talking about for years to come. 🏔️❄️✈️🚢✨
