Once in Milford Sound, your pilot will accompany you from the airport to the boat terminal. Everything is organised for you, you don't have to worry about a thing! Step on board your cruise lasting at least 1hr 45mins, you will travel the length of the Fiord and out to the Tasman Sea. Stopping at waterfalls and points of interest along the way, if you're lucky you'll also get to experience the local wildlife - the dolphins love playing in the wake of the boat!

Awesome pilot, stunning views
The fjords know as Milford Sound are magnificent. We flew out of Queenstown on a 14-seater prop plane piloted by Joseph. The flight was smooth and Joseph came across as experienced and professional. He was also a great tour guide for us - sharing points of interest on the flight to and from our boat excursion through the sound. While traversing the waters we had multiple dolphin sittings, as well as yellow horned penguins and a few fur seals, all in their natural habitats. Definitely a unique and once in a lifetime experience.

Our only disappointment is that Viator promoted this as a small group tour of Max 30, There were 30 people on the 3 planes but the boat was huge with easy more than 100 people.

Our experience was great! Very lucky with the weather and Megan was an excellent pilot. The cruise was lovely as well; the sounds are beautifull and we were able to see penguins, dolphins and seals.
Breath taking flight into Milford sound. Then on to a cruise where we saw dolphins, seals, penguins and waterfalls.
The entire experience organized by Glenorchy Air was exceptional! Me and my husband were picked up promptly at the busy stop in front of our hotel, just as the instructions stated. Vaughn was an excellent coach driver and tour guide. Entertaining stories and jokes. Adequate time at stops for restroom breaks and scenic views. Boat cruise was fun, decent buffet on board with water, coffee and tea included. Flight back was smooth and pilot/owner James was hospitable and pointed out important points of interest while flying steady. Would recommend 100%!!

On a trip full of highlights, this one ranks near the top. The Glenorchy Team are AMAZING! I accidentally booked the wrong date and they accommodated me immediately and without issue. They arranged for us to be picked up from our hotel and driven straight to the airport. Check in was organized and professional. I’ll admit, I was a bit scared about being in such a small plane, but it really wasn’t too bad. A little turbulence here or there because you’re flying over mountains, but it was ultimately a non-issue. The views from the plane? INCREDIBLE! The cruise in Milford Sound was lovely - we saw some wildlife and enjoyed a gorgeous few hours on the water. Strongly recommend doing this if you can!
Best experience we have had, James was a great pilot and we caught some stunning views , James was very informative and felt super comfortable and informed on all the surrounding mountains and lakes , this will be a trip I’ll remember for the rest of my life , highly reccomend

Such a wonderful way to see New Zealand. This is a must do!

What a beautiful tour - very special to fly over one of the most scenic places in the world to then enjoy the cruise up close is spectacular. Seemless from start to finish. Friendly, professional organisations with great commentary from the pilot and captain alike. Well worth every cent.
This experience was a real highlight of our holiday. Jemma was a great pilot, was extremely informative, and highlighted several points of interest on the flights to and from Milford Sound. The cruise was also great, the captain provided plenty of commentary but without it becoming overly intrusive. There were plenty of pauses at key points for photos. I'll be heartily recommending this to any friends that come to Queenstown in future.

Initially we were going to do the drive to Milford from queenstown however after recommendation from a friend we booked the fly-cruise-fly with Glenorchy Air and we are so glad we did. Whilst Milford Sound was incredible, the flight was the highlight for us! The scenery is fantastic and all the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Special shout out to Ivan and Joe! The in-flight narration was also great. Highly recommend!
We had the experience of a lifetime on our flight to Milford. James the pilot was excellent and provided a lot of fun facts on the history of the area while we flew over the beautiful landscape. Hands down the best plane ride of my life! And Samia who helped us book it all and checked us in was amazing and went far beyond what was expected she elevated the whole experience even higher! Can't thank the entire team enough and will be recommending this to absolutely everyone! If you’re considering doing it — do it! You won’t regret it.
Easy to book. Self driving worked great with parking at the airport terminal parking lot for $25 total. Received email on day of to confirm weather. Got there at the 8:30AM check in time and our flight took off a little later, around 9:20AM to wait out the clouds. Our pilot Rob was kind and excellent. Sat in a plane with 7 passengers total. Cruise was smooth and a little breezy, but manageable. Ended up getting back to Queenstown by 1:20pm, making the visit around 4 hours total from liftoff to final touchdown. Overall, the plane ride was great with the views, especially the ones with the clouds half covering the mountains. The cruise itself was nice, but not as awe inspiring. We did get to see some cute saloons jumping into the water from the mountain area.

A massive bonus is the time efficiency with the flight allowing for an easy half day trip to visit the Milford Sound.

Epic time flying with Joesph to Millford Sound. Scenery was like a postcard and pilot was a great guy - very knowledgeable and made sure everyone was comfortable. Far better experience than a 9-hour round trip driving. Really efficient getting on/off the cruise too. Can't recommend highly enough.
