Lake Dunstan Cycleway Bike Rental And Return Shuttle

We were very nervous about doing this ride, but we spoke to Luke and he assured us we would be fine. We are in our 60s and we are so proud of ourselves for doing this. It was an amazing ride and the Ebikes were perfect. Luke looks after you all day and he was waiting at the end to take the bikes off us and load them onto the trailer and sent us off for a drink. If you’re not sure about this ride use these people as the bikes were light and easy to use and the support is awesome. Thank you, Luke.

The Lake Dunstan trail ride was great fun, very scenic, and well organized. Our guide Lori gave us all the info up front on how and where to ride, and met us along the way and at the finish, and was helpful, friendly and encouraging. The bikes were excellent, and the trail was very clear in terms of directions.

We had a great day experiencing the Lake Dunstan Trial, followed by the boat trip back to Cromwell. The tour was very well organised, the equipment was in great condition and the operators were local, professional and knowledgeable.

This tour operator was fantastic! The staff were friendly and everything was very well-organized. The e-bikes made the trail very essy to ride.

Great ride, beautiful! And very easy on an e-bike! Only 2.5 hours of riding time, so you can take your time, pack a lunch and enjoy it

Brilliant day out - highly recommend Dave and his team. Excellent bikes and some good info on central Otago to go along with the stunning views. The cheese scones at the winery are to be recommended !! Take the boat trip afterwards too - you wont be disappointed.

What a great day out. David makes sure you have a fun and enjoyable day with a strong focus on safety. The ebikes made the ride so comfortable and as novice riders we did it easily. The 41km distance has amazing views of water, hills, peaks and flat runs. Along the way you can grab a coffee and burger from boats moored in a bay. The township of Clyde was a pleasant surprise. David’s commentary on the area helped us use our time wisely. Would highly recommend NZ Bike Trails. Plan to do the Hawea to Wanaka next time 👍🏼👍🏼

Loved, loved, loved our day on the bike for the Lake Dunstan Trail. David picked us up at our accommodation and entertained us with his commentary all the way to Cromwell for the start of the ride. He's very focussed on safety and the e-bikes were fabulous - very comfortable and responsive. My husband would have managed with a normal bike but the additional power meant that I didn't need to worry about the hills. We had a blast. The views are stupendous along the route and the engineering is a marvel. We finished in lovely Clyde with a wander around and an icecream (Nom nom) and then had a great boat trip back to Cromwell with Andy from Lake Dunstan Explorer which really topped off a wonderful day. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience with David, from start to finish the day was organised. We completed the Dunstan Lake trail, great trail, easy to follow and plenty of time to complete. David provided brand new e-bikes that enhanced the experience, the route can be hilly at times and with the bikes you were able to fully enjoy the trail and scenery. Time was also provided at the end to explore Clyde and get a well deserved cake and coffee. David also provided us with lots of information around the local areas and gave the group the option to go the scenic way on the way back which was a treat especially when having limited time in New Zealand. David was very knowledgeable and passionate regarding bikes and trails tips which were very useful. Thanks for a great day. Well worth the pennies.

Fantastic day cycling the Lake Dunstan Trail! David has everything organised, great e-bikes and equipment. The scenery is magnificent!! An absolute must do activity!

we called at 9.30 in the morning and Dave from NZ bike trails was so accommodating. He did a Dunstan Trail trip just for the 2 of us at 10.30 that same morning, picking us up from Wanaka. We had lovely new e bikes with super comfortable seats and great helmets. Dave went over the bikes with us and made sure everything was perfect before we set off. He gave great recommendations for food including Carrick Winery and Burger Afloat on the trail. HE then picked us up at the end of the trail in Clyde and had arranged for a ferry ride up the Dunstan lake back to Cromwell which was really interesting. I highly recommend Dave and his company NZbiketrails as a great way to do the Lake Dunstan trail - and he was much cheaper than his competitors!

Fantastic service and great day trip. Picked up promptly from the Wanaka lakefront. David is a wealth of knowledge and informative about the area. Bikes delivered as promised and the e-bikes make for easy and enjoyable riding. They are a great equaliser, allowing everyone to ride together. Stops at Carrick Vineyard and the Burger boat well worth it. Finishing spot allows for a very quick walk into Old Clyde for food or a glass of Pinot. Opted for the boat shuttle back and that was awesome. Great service and would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy the Dunstan Trail especially those who don't want to worry about car transfers or logistics in any way.
