Dear Avid readers My friend and I as two middle aged doctors booked the afternoon boutique wine tour as a birthday treat for my friend. I can safely say we were blessed to have Susana as our tour guide making our trip smooth and sensational, as well as highly informative. Needless to say though most importantly she made sure my friend had a magical birthday, and made me the lord of the rings fan, finish with a big smile on my face! As an added bonus, ending the trip by a fireplace with cheese platter and ginger the gorgeous dog as warm companion while we sipped our last wines of the day was superb. Thankyou again Susana. This was a really enjoyable tour. Susanna was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who's own interest in wine shone through. The wineries selected were diverse, unique, and were not crowded. We had time and space to enjoy each in comfort and without pressure which was lovely. An unexpected highlight was hanging out with Ginger (the winery dog).

Susana was a fantastic tour guide and my partner and I loved our private wine tour through Queenstown. We felt we had plenty of time, loved the selection of wineries and the insights Susana offered. We had individual hosts leading our tasting at each of the wineries so felt like such an intimate experience. Being the off season we had some of the wineries to ourself which we loved and there were no crowds. Fantastic value for money and perfect for a smaller group wanting an intimate experience. We can't wait to be back!

Susana was an excellent host and.took us to three of Central Otago's best wineries. Always knowledgeable and engaging; great taste in music. Would recommend!

Booked this tour months in advance and was absolutely horrified that it was cancelled 24 hours prior to the tour. What made it worse was the lack of communication - no email explaining why, no apology, no nothing. My advice is go elsewhere and pick a reputable company that tries not to ruin holidays of a lifetime. Reprehensible behaviour from this company.

Susana was fun, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, an all-round excellent guide who made the tour both informative and enjoyable. What really stood out was her attention to detail. She remembered the information I had shared in advance about my family joining the tour, which made the experience feel thoughtful and personalised. It was also clear she has strong relationships with the local wineries, as we were often hosted in side or private rooms, adding to the intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Although the tour focuses on Pinot Noir, a highlight of the region, Susana made sure the white wine drinker on the tour was equally well catered for, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, a beautifully curated experience and a wonderful introduction to Central Otago’s wine scene. If you’ve visited wineries in the area before, be sure to let Susana know in advance, she can tailor the tour so you experience places you haven’t been to before.

Susana was an awesome guide. We visited three places and all of them were great. My two friends had the experience of wine tasting tour for the very first time and they were also really happy. The last one gave us a cheese platter and mulled wine for the finale and it was generally awesome. Perfect for a afternoon adventure.

This is the second time I've done a tour with Susana, and honestly - I wouldn't even consider anyone else. She's amazing. Not only is she super-knowledgeable about all the wines and wineries on our tour, she's a warm and gracious host. She is great fun to spend the afternoon with and tolerated the tipsy humour on offer from our group very well. Most importantly: She took us to the wineries with the best wine AND the best dogs. Can't wait to have an excuse to do another tour in the future.

What a great day! Susana was very knowledgeable and super friendly, made everybody feel welcome. We got to try 15 wines from across the region, all of them delicious. We had a 14 year old with us who was able to come along and was made to feel welcome. Would recommend this tour above any other we have been on. 5 stars!!!

The afternoon winery tour was perfect for us - three boutique wineries with 15 tastings across the three, and a delicious charcuterie board at the end. We are fans of Pinot Noir and, unbeknownst to us, Central Otago is one of three top producing regions of the world. Learning this, we knew we were in for a treat. We enjoyed our visit to The Chard Farm, Kinross, and Brennan Wineries. All three of these cellar doors were very different, and we left more learned in blends and single vineyards, and the history of the Central Otago region. The sommeliers at each were friendly and very happy to share their expertise easily and with warmth. We felt no pressure to make purchases, though we did walk away with at least one from each. We’re particularly looking forward to opening the bottles of Valli and Macushla (from the Kinross cellar door) by an open fire with family and friends very soon! We were very lucky that this tour as just the two of us — Susana was a wonderful guide; her commentary about the region, the different wineries and their establishment made for an informative and fun experience. She brings warmth, humour, and a genuine interest in her guests to the tour - right down to being one’s ’personal paparazzi’ and sending photos to our email a few days after, as well as helping us time our phone order to the famous Fergberger, so we could avoid the endlessly long queues. We highly recommend this tour with Susana!

Fab wine tour, would 100% recommend. Susana was a brilliant tour host, a v comfortable drive out to three boutique wineries, not too far out of town and not far apart, during which she gave us interesting background info, so we never got bored! The wineries were super well chosen - all three had a different vibe so there was lovely variety on the tour. We were in a small group of five (me, two friends, and a couple), and the tour was designed so well that the last winery was where we got a group table and some snacks, and we were just tipsy enough to feel very sociable! We had a lovely time meeting Susana, the others on our tour, and enjoying a delicious selection of wines (and bought a couple of bottles). Susana is even generous enough to spend half the tour taking lovely, high quality pics of us, which she sent us for free a couple of days after. We were lucky enough to have great weather but most of the tour is indoors so this would be a great way to spend an afternoon in the rain. A perfect half day tour, would absolutely recommend.

It was a great experience to join the Afternoon wine tour. Our guide was wonderful and had a lot of experience with wine. It was perfect timing, late afternoon to early evening, so it's posible to have a nice lunch before the tour and dinner after. Also in the last wineary, we got a very nice chees plate. Also it's not to far from Queenstown, so we didn't waste to much time in the car. I can reccomand this tour 🙂

This wine tour was excellent. Susana is awesome and was a fantastic guide. She taught us a lot about wine in New Zealand, and picked excellent places to visit. WE tried 16 different wines, across 3 wineries. The wines varied greatly and we were very pleasantly surprised to find out most selections were Pinot Noir, as opposed to the white wines more prominent in other parts of NZ. We would highly recommend this tour and Susana. Enjoy!

What a wonderful afternoon visiting three of the best wineries in the central Otago region! Susana was a wonderful hostess and guide, even taking pictures with her professional camera to send to us later!! We had great wine specialists at each winery and sampled quite a bit of wine. If you want an afternoon of good wine and fun, I highly recommend this tour!

Would HIGHLY recommend this tour. We had Susana as our personal tour guide and she was outstanding. Really knew her stuff. Made us relax and have loads of fun. We learnt so much & got to experience the more intimate boutique wineries. Excellent value for money. If you are looking for a more personal experience then this is the tour for you! Firstly, Susanna is amazing. Great background stories to the places we visited, picked fab cellar doors, not to mention the wines we got to taste. Susanna took really nice pics of us throughout the afternoon, which are hands downs so much better than iphone selfies. Cheese platter at the last cellar door was also delicious. Highly recommend.

A scenic tour around some of Otago's boutique wineries with a surprising variety of flavours! The guide was incredibly personable with great knowledge of the region and its history. We brought home a few bottles to show off and are one step closer to being full on wine snobs :D

We went on the wine tour in April 2024 and absolutely loved it! The wine, views and especially the guide- Susana, was amazing. There were a good pick of different wineries, but some seemed more commercial and rushed than others. However this did not ruin our experience. Would definitely recommend it to others wanting a wine-experience while traveling in Queenstown!

The host, Susana, is amazing - she really goes above and beyond for people on the tour. She has a lot of interesting stories to tell about the region whilst driving between wineries and makes the tour very fun. The wineries we visited were small production (boutique) - you won't find their wines everywhere. We enjoyed the vibe at all of them, and the wines were fantastic (we are taking some back to AUS with us). The hosts at each of the wineries were friendly and knowledgeable.
