30-minute Alpine Scenic Flight From Queenstown

Wow! What an amazing experience. Jake our pilot was incredibly professional and the flight was very smooth. The views were breathtaking and it was extra special to have our alpine landing among patches of snow! A very special memory for my husband and I. Definitely worth the money to have this amazing experience.

The most wonderful experience. Worth every penny, don't hesitate Staff and Luke our pilot were amazing. Being on crutches with semi limited mobility I was given great support. Felt safe the whole time. Entering and exiting was not going to be a problem to staff. I chose to stay in heli when doing snowlanding. We still got magical pics together and Luke bought snow to me so I experienced powder feeling. Thankyou all soo much for helping us tick this on our bucketlist. Sincerest thanks !!!

Went in Jan 26, cold, no snow, but beautiful. My partner and I did a last minute purchase for the following morning at 8am (the night before) which was, I admit, a little sketchy. Unfortunately due to weather (or numbers) the flight was not able to go ahead, however the company managed to sort us out for the Saturday which was showing as full. It turned out to be amazing, Andrew the pilot was knowledgeable, friendly and knows how to snap a great photo. The company was safe, professional, clean and parking was easy. I was a little skeptical about doing a touristy type flight and spending the money however I absolutely loved it and in hindsight and very glad I did it. The helicopter and pilot were amazing and it’s an experience that if you can, you should do. Particularly if it’s snowing. Definitely would do it again.

The original flight was cancelled due to weather but the crew were so kind and immediate booked us on another day.

We had a wonderful flight! Our pilot was very safety conscious but still made it a light-hearted, fun time. He found a mountain peak that still had snow on it and our Florida raised kids were over the moon to be able to throw snowballs! Our pilot caught some great pictures of our family and we were so grateful for the experience, as well as his great documentation of the experience. Thank you!

Didn't quite last 30mins. Ended in about 20- 25mins. That's my only complaint. Since we pay for 30mins, I think it should last for that time.

Absolutely amazing! The views were breathtaking and having the opportunity to land on a snow covered mountain was a dream come true. Our pilot was friendly and very thorough in his explanations and knowledge of what we were seeing. He helped take pictures and definitely ensured our safety. It’s a tight squeeze for seating, so you need to like your neighbor. Take off and landings were very smooth. I highly recommend this trip!

The flight was really worth it. Ground crew and the pilot was super friendly , specially Lucy who was super helpful. Right then and there we decided to do this again in summer.

Quite simply the experience of a lifetime for us. My children’s first time seeing snow and we got to land on it! Our pilot Alfie was amazing, we felt very safe and enjoyed his company and commentary. Whilst the weather wasn’t favourable for us to do the flight we had originally booked, the team worked hard to offer us a safe alternative flight. Special thanks to Katie behind the scenes! I 100% recommend this company and the experiences they offer. We will remember our trip for a lifetime.

First time in a Helicopter so obviously a bit nervous but those feelings very quickly dissipated thanks to the wonderful & sincere level of service offered by all the staff, the pilot was just fantastic, very informative. I will be going back up in the air again with these guys when I next visit NZ

A most exciting trip over the mountains, but be careful if you have a non-NZ phone. When we tried to find the heliport to check-in on arrival in Queenstown (as requested) it was all closed up, and the phone number provided did not answer so we called another number which turned out to be a different company. At 8am we called them for a weather check to confirm the trip was going ahead, at which point they answered the phone. These call costs to NZ land lines cost me £3.50 a minute (approx £28 in total). Other tours I have done this trip the tour operators communicate by WhatsApp, whereby calls are free and this extra expense is not incurred. Otherwise Scenic Helicopter tours made sure that all the safety measures were in place and that we were all briefed accordingly, adding up to an exhilarating experience.

A very professionally run outfit right from booking and checkin to a very enjoyable flight experience. Our pilot Jeremy was very informative and the glacier landing was something special. Helicopter very spacious and all 6 passengers get great views. Would recommend these guys any time you are in Queenstown.

My partner and I had an absolutely phenomenal scenic alpine flight experience! The views were stunning, and it made for a truly memorable couple’s adventure. Our flight instructor was not only skilled but also incredibly cool, taking pictures of us throughout the journey, which made it even more special. The transport was well-organized, and the customer service was exceptional — the receptionist staff even reached out when I nearly lost my driver’s license. It was a perfect day for both of us, and we highly recommend it for couples looking for a unique and unforgettable experience!

It is the first time to see the glacier and snow on the high mountains in New Zeland and the scene was amazing. The snow was really soft and was cool up there. I even drew some letters and simple stuff on the snow with my feet!

Our pilot, Will, was amazing. The helicopter ride was extremely smooth, amazing views, and Will took great pictures of us. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. The helicopter was spacious with huge windows, great for pictures and videos.

We woke up to an overcast day and thought we wouldn’t enjoy it. Was fantastic. We landed on a mountain side and played in snow!! We had been to the Grand Canyon a month before and this was ten times better ! Thanks to our pilot Alfie!

We did a quick helicopter flight and were able to get out and take pictures. It was last minute and we rented all 4 seats even though it was just the 2 of us on our honeymoon. It was fantastic!!!

This was a fabulous trip. Luke gave us lots of love information during the flight, including pointing out a sheep climbing a hill so it would get the early morning sun! We landed on the top of a hill and again Luke told us about the different areas and where the snow came too.

An absolute highlight of the trip and worth every dollar. Staff and Polit were amazing and they even let me change the booking date when I accidently booked the wrong day. 10/10 and would absolutely recommend.

We didn’t get to experience our helicopter flight due to bad weather, however the alpine scenic flight operators were open, honest and very pleasant to deal with. While we were disappointed in not being able to go, the weather isn’t something they control but the experience was handled very well they tried their best to accomodate us at other times or dates and issues a full refund immediately when we couldn’t select another time.

Absolutely Stunning flight with my wife & 15 yr old daughter. Danny our piolt was knowledgeable & fun. Even tho not alot of snow, the views were " to die for" Someting we will remember for the rest of our lives. If you can afford it do it, you wont regret it

We had the most amazing experience and we couldn’t have asked for this to be on a better day or with a better pilot. We ended up with a private flight just my husband and I and we landed in the snow, had a glass of champagne, a play in the snow and flew back. For someone who is not good at all with flights our pilot Jake was so great that I felt comfortable enough to be in the front on the way back. What an amazing experience. I would absolutely 100% recommend this trip to anyone.

My husband and I were recently on holiday in Queenstown and both had a helicopter ride at the top of our list. We certainly chose well with Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters. We were collected from our hotel and then returned afterwards. All the staff were very friendly and professional and our pilot was fantastic. Gave great commentary throughout the flight and during our snow landing did the rounds making sure we all got excellent photos. Very highly recommended.

This was one of THE most beautiful experiences of our lives!! Yes this a mind-blowing scenic experience, and yes the Remarkables are truly that!! BUT but to see it all from a helicopter with an experienced, genuine, great guy / helicopter pilot - THANK YOU Jeremy, and to do it as our fun little family, my husband and I, and our 18-year-old puppy dog Brutus was a lifetime memory of WOW!!

Overall, an awesome experience. Purchased the package including the Shotover Jet. Flight was just long enough for my partner who was afraid of heights. We both felt safe with our pilot Andy who was very experienced and had the smoothest landings. Also appreciated the courtesy shuttle and our driver Luke who is a top bloke! Definitely recommend and would visit again.
