We absolutely loved our stay. The food was delicious, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor spa was such a beautiful and relaxing touch. It was also lovely sitting by the fire having a cup of tea. We stayed at the presidential suite and played the piano too. Every little detail just made everything.. 5 Star!! I was so impressed by the warm towels in the bathroom!! The whole place is so clean and smells incredible, reminds me of walking into a really expensive clothing store. The staff were so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. We had such a wonderful experience and will definitely come back. Thank you.
Our stay at the Carlin was very special. The views from the Princess Suite were incredible. Private hot tub was a real treat. The service provided by every member of staff was exceptional. We were surprised with a room upgrade on the last night to the Presidential Suite, which was breathtaking. The hotel is a bit of hike from town, but the views and service are worth it. Daily breakfast was delicious too. I’d happily stay here again. Thank you to each of the incredible staff for a wonderful stay.
Our stay at The Carlin was an amazing experience!!!! The staff is friendly and very accommodating The rooms are exceptionally clean, very spacious, very comfortable beds and had all the amenities and more. They restocked the snack bar daily with tasty treats. The gourmet breakfast was delicious with a fine dining atmosphere. The location is unbeatable with just a short walk to downtown Queenstown and all the shopping, dining and night life you could ever want. What a great experience. The Carlin without a doubt is one of the best lodgings in all of Queenstown!!!
As a traveller who has stayed at some of the best hotels in the world I was really impressed with the Carlin.
We stayed in the Bayview Suite. The room is large and so comfortable. One of my best afternoons was spent under a blanket on the couch next to the fire, watching the gondolas and the stunning mountain view.
The Carlin feels luxurious. The spa on the deck was a standout. The complimentary mini bar (no alcohol like some) had good local variety of snacks and drinks.
We didn’t interact with the staff much but they were all very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was really high quality.
Only thing to note for some is the walk back from town is up a very steep hill. We are fit and struggled. Alternatively you can get an uber for about $11.
I would definitely recommend the Carlin, especially for a couple or special occasion.

The rooms were stunning, beautifully designed, immaculate, and incredibly comfortable, with breathtaking views that made the stay feel even more special. The level of cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the hotel was outstanding.
The food was also amazing - every meal was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. There were so many thoughtful little inclusions and touches during our stay that really elevated the entire experience and made it feel incredibly special and memorable.
Everything about our time at The Carlin exceeded expectations. It is such a beautiful boutique hotel with an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and relaxed at the same time. We truly felt taken care of so well, and we will most definitely be back. Highly, highly recommend to anyone visiting Queenstown!
