Our guide Sarah was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. The tour was a really good introduction to the city of Montreal.
Sarah, our guy, was very knowledgeable, informative, accommodating, and a pleasant guide. she took her time and answered all questions. Did not feel like she was rushing us at all, like we had all the time in the world.
David was great. Knowledgeable, interesting and had a great sense of humor. A great tour to begin our visit to Montreal. Thank you for an enjoyable 2 hours!
This was my first activity on Montreal and it was a great way to kick things off. The guide, sights, price and information were all spot on. Great stuff.
We really enjoyed our tour with Serge who entertained us with history and funny stories. A very good overview of the historic old Quebec. Easy walking for all ages and fun ride up the funiculaire
This was an interesting tour that we enjoyed. There was a perfect amount of walking for a 2 hour tour. It was an interesting mix of old and new. There were many dates that were thrown out associated with the tour, and sometimes this was overwhelming for some members of my party.
We did our walk with Pierre. The 2 hours went by in a second. We saw the most interesting places in old town Montreal and learned a lot. Even our teenage kids had a lot of fun. Thank you Pierre
It was a beautiful Fall clear cloud free blue-sky day, we were lucky from the start. I signed up for 10:30am tour, it is recommended to do so as air felt very crisped and easy to make your plans after for the rest of your day. Our guide was François H. a native of Montreal, very comfort-talker, easy to follow. He is very knowledgeable of history, background of city, Quebec and Canada, it was appreciative of those explained well for foreigners like me. He showed us all major spots you should visit in downtown Old Montreal smoothly together with tips for you to come back later by own and go explore more around. Top point I would like to give was he ended his tour right by restrooms after 2H+ of walking.
It's always good to learn something new about the neighboring country. New places, new cities, new traditions.
Learned so much history and so very interesting to walk and explore at the same time. Our guide was fantastic!
This was such a great tour! JoAnn was very personable and did a great job of explaining old and modern history of Montreal. This was a great way to start our trip and we covered a variety of places.
Niko the guide had excellent knowledge and command of English.Gave time for questions Easily heard in the group
David was great. A native of Montreal he was well educated and had the scoop on not only the city's history but a bit on growing up French in Canada. Truly a well-informed guide! Note: If you are American, Venmo doesn't work in Canada so bring cash for tip!!
Very informational which I enjoyed. You get to see most of Old Montreal on this walking tour which is nice. We had Ronny as a tour guide and he was great.
Good fun tour, not too long and interesting points. Guide was able to filed lots of questions and adjust the tour to suit the whole group
David was a wonderful guide. Very informative and interesting. His tour took us by several significant monuments and historical spots but without an excess of walking. Even have us a primer to the underground Reso. Highly recommend!
Pierre was an exceptional guide. The tour focussed on history, architecture and lifestyle of Old Montreal. It was well paced and detailed with knowledge, passion and a dash of humour. It gave us a great introduction to the area and ideas for places we could explore in more depth later.
This was just the right length and timing for a Sunday morning walking tour after our red-eye flight from California. Convenient starting point [right outside our hotel]; small size [just 14 that day]; and superb guide [Michele B, former high school history teacher]. Great introduction to the core historical points of interest coupled with commentary that made the tour so satisfying.
Fabulous historical tour of Old Montreal. Joanne was wonderful and very informative. We really enjoyed all the history. Be aware of the cobblestones and uneven walkways.
Ronny was so knowledgable and entertaining. What a great way to explore Old Montreal. I recommend doing it at the beginning of your trip so you know what you want to go back to see more of.
Sarah was warm, friendly and very informative. Our group got a good rundown on the history of old Montreal. Would definitely recommend.
My tour guide, David, was great, though I do wish he had taken a moment at the beginning to have people on the tour introduce themselves. His knowledge of the history of Montreal combined with his sense of humor made the tour both interesting and fun. He pivoted when necessary (there was a busker loudly singing where he wanted to talk about the Basilica de Notre Dame and another area where a protest was taking place), navigating obstacles with an ease indicative of his experience. David was open to questions of all types, whether about tour stops, current life in Montreal, or anything else. Note for people going on the tour - wear comfortable shoes, be prepared for some hills and going up/down stairs, and if going in mid-late October, wear layers. The temperature was great, but there were some moments of wind and walking through wind tunnels that made it deep 10 degrees F colder, and I was grateful for my jacket. Also, bring a bottle of water. Montreal is city rich with history, and Guidatour helped bring it to life.
Out tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Old Montreal. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes!
Our Guidatour English-language walking tour of Old Montreal was terrific - easy meeting place, and a fun and engaging survey of Quebec history and Montreal architecture and sites. And Sarah! Our tour guide was a total pro who delighted us with her good energy, knowledge and storytelling. The tour was a very good value, definitely a highlight of our trip to a rich and exciting city.
This was a fantastic tour!! We love taking a walking tour to get a flavor of the city we are in and a little of local history. Our tour guide, JoAnne was amazing with historical detail and gave us a great view of the old city and how it came to be. We thought the process point was perfect. The meeting spot was a smidge tricky as there are a lot of “old city walking tour” icons on a Google map and it would be helpful if the address was reiterated in the tickets. Once located, it was easy!
Informative, gave a geographical reference to Old Montreal. Mathieu was a great guide, good pace for our group.
Amazing tour! Ronny, our guide, did a great job. covering the history and architecture of the old town. He was also very funny and entertaining. Highly recommend. Enjoy!
This was a charming and very informative tour. Our guide Michele was very good even though she had only been working the tour since the summer time. Would def recommend if visiting and a good part is the tour ends right in the heart of the square where there are lots of shops and places to eat.
Sarah did an excellent job of introducing our group to Old Montreal and highlighting both the history and the city as it is now. She answered a lot of questions from myself and others, and the views were spectacular!
Sarah, our guide, was terrific and a wealth of knowledge about Montreal. Both its history and architecture.
Our guide was outstanding; knowledgeable friendly and accommodating. He set us up for a great two days in the city

Having moved back to Montreal recently, we enjoyed rediscovering and learning more about our city’s history. Very informative and pleasant activity.
Our guide Sarah provided a lively contemporary and historic English-language portrait of Old Montréal and it was all a delight. A pleasant, safe and picturesque 2-hr walk I'd recommend to anyone on their introduction to this wonderful, welcoming city.
Informative and learned a bit of Montreal’s history we brought our baby along and it was fine enjoyed it!
This was one of the best walking tours I have taken. Joanne was. full of historical knowledge and gave the group great tips for sightseeing, navigating the city and what is worth seeing. She is a wealth of knowledge about Montreal and Quebec in general. Merci!
We had a fantastic time on this tour! It was both fun and informative. Our tour guide provided a chronological history of Montreal while reviewing the landmarks and architecture.
Wear comfortable shoes. The guide was knowledgeable and gave great detail. He was friendly and had a good attitude. We had a good time and learned a lot. We also saw some very beautiful sights.
David was a great tour guide! He gave a lot of historical background on the things we saw and the city itself. It really helped me understand the city better. Definitely recommend.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and well experienced. Great presentation skills. It was a good tour.
Perfect walk through Old Montreal. Guide was excellent. Fair crowd size of 14 .
Our guide Sebastian made this tour a real highlight of our trip. He was fun and upbeat, and kept everything fresh and interesting from start to finish. We learned a lot about the history of the city without it ever feeling like a lecture. The pace was relaxed and the walking wasn't strenuous at all, so it's a great option for anyone who wants to explore without wearing themselves out. The tour covered all the important sites in Old Montreal, and the neighbourhood itself is just beautiful. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour, especially if you can get Sebastian!
Interesting introduction to the city. Our guide went at a good pace, provided some tips for navigating the city and gave some history to the sites ans architectural references p
