This was a fabulous tour! Based on what I read about the tour (which I booked for my husband and two other family members) on the Spade and Palacio website, I was certainly looking forward to it. But my expectations were exceeded—all four of us absolutely LOVED it! We saw a wonderful variety of art in a neighborhood that was fascinating to walk through—but it was Jesse, our tour guide, who made the experience so totally engaging, informative and fun! He was so well informed, and had fascinating details to share about each of the murals he took us to. Plus he was a natural and animated storyteller, weaving in bits of the history and culture of the neighborhood, the background of the mural festival, the backgrounds of the artists, and more--and the opinions and stories he included from his own life made it even more real and fun. We all felt so energized by all we had seen and learned, and SO glad we had found this tour and gotten Jesse as our guide! We couldn’t have found a better way to spend two of our hours in Montreal—I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Just completed the Montreal Mural tour and it was great. The depth of knowledge provided by our guide Jessie was well beyond our expectations. Not only was he knowledgeable of the mural artists but his depth in the world of documentary films and tagging was so interesting. Frankly I did not expect much for this tour but it was probably the top tour we have ever taken. As we have done tours throughout Europe, the Caribbean and Mexico that says a lot. Book this tour, learn about tagging, street art, the mural festival and the Plat neighborhood of Montreal. You will gain new found knowledge and have a great time too.
The mural tour was really engaging. The guide (Mel) was very knowledgeable about the local street art scene and the intersect with the murals. Highly recommend if you like art, design, or just want a unique tour that you can’t do in every other city.

I had a great time on the Montreal street art tour! We saw so many amazing murals, and our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the local street art scene. I appreciated learning about the etiquette among street artists and we were lucky to able to say hello to one of the artists at the end. A great way to experience Montreal!

You’re on your feet the whole time but it wasn’t a ton of walking as everything is in one neighborhood, be mindful of the weather but the guide does make a stop at a cafe halfway through for bathrooms and drinks or a small snack. The murals are beautiful & learning about Montreal, the artists and some history behind them is fun!

We booked this mural tour because we knew almost nothing about street art. What we expected to be just a pleasant walk turned into one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide explained the stories behind the murals, the artists, the different styles, and how street art reflects the city's culture and history. If you're already familiar with street art, you'll appreciate learning about the history behind the murals, the local artists, internationally renowned muralists, and how the annual mural festival transforms the neighborhood with new artwork every year. If you're new to it, like we were, this tour is the perfect introduction. By the end of the tour, we were looking at every wall with completely different eyes. Instead of simply seeing colorful paintings, we understood the meaning, creativity, and talent behind them. The tour left us wanting to explore more murals and learn even more about street art wherever we travel. Overall, it was fascinating, inspiring, and simply very cool. Highly recommended!

My husband and I went on the murals tour yesterday. Jesse was a great guide. He was both personable and informative. His commentary helped me to view the murals with a more informed perspective. It was also great learning about the plateau neighborhood and insider facts about Montreal.

So much to this world that I had no idea about. We found it absolutely fascinating, my 7 and 9 year olds particularly liked looking for bandit squirrel.
Mel was great! Knowledgeable and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to see some murals I did not previously see when walking around and learning about the festival of murals.
We really enjoyed the mural tour with Jesse. He shared a lot of interesting local knowledge and helped us better understand the stories and interpretations behind many of the murals, as well as the backgrounds of the artists, which made the experience much more meaningful. It was so much more insight than if we had just walked around looking at the murals on our own. Our kids age 15 to 21 enjoyed it as well. We’d definitely recommend it.
Looking for a bubbly in-between semesters summer-jobber tour guide? Look elsewhere. Jesse is pART of the ART. Right up to the point of the tour where we passed by his artist loft and he yelled up to see if his wife (4-5 stories up) would poke her head out. (No, he didn't holler "Stelllaaa"". ;) ) My wife and lived down the street from the mural neighbourhood 32 years ago. Jeff made our old stomping grounds come alive even more than when we roamed those avenues long before the modern internet became a thing and we actually noticed our immediate surrounding! What a trip!!! Six out of 5 stars from your friends de la 6ix!
Loved it! Dave is very knowledgeable, the group was nice, and small. I’ve seen the murales many times, but with an explanation about the artists and the link between the paintings, plus all the details it becomes a real experiences!
