Would have liked more historical background on the area and about the food. There was some of course but not very deep or broad. Food was great but order of consumption odd in the spicy to sweet to heavy to light nature

The food tour was excellent! Our tour guide, Mel, was amazing. She took us to places that covered a different ethnic food culture on every stop. There were only 4 of us on the tour and we all received one on one attention.

Loved our experience- perfect way to get to know part of Montreal that isn’t full of tourists and learn the stories behind the people who make the incredible food of the neighborhoods. Great value, delicious tastings and a guide who knows what he’s talking about (and has a fabulous sense of humor). We had the best day and went back to a few places on our own because we enjoyed them so much. Loved the pace of the afternoon and how thoughtful Danny was about managing food needs & preferences. Would absolutely book this again. There was a 30-year age difference across our group and we all had a super time. Thanks Danny!

This was a truly excellent Montreal food tour with our amazing guide Dave. I have done food tours all over the world and this was one of the best. Dave's knowledge of the history and the food scene in Montreal was amazing. The food selection was wonderfuly curated. Exceeded our expectations!

This was an average food tour. A couple of the early stops were interesting and featured local food that was new to us and quite tasty. As the tour went on, it seemed to become just a taste of regular (but good) food with the information being given in a manner to "sell" coming back to the kiosk/store for further purchases. We also found that the guide's "connections" to most of the establishments were high lighted more than the food. The portions were extremely small after the first two stops we felt we could have done the Jean-Talon market on our own just as well. The last stop at the extremely overpriced chocolate shop was a waste of time.

I unfortunately can't seem to remember the name of my guide, but he was great! I wasn't sure what to expect on this food tour but the foods were delicious and varied. It was a fun way to learn about Montreal. I also did like how at the end of the tour, they gave some recommendations for other places to check out in MTL. This was my first time in MTL so I definitely used that when figuring out what to do on my trip.

Our day together was a great fun experience, Jesse was friendly and had a quick sense of humor, who made everyone comfortable. He did a great job of describing the foods we had. My only disappointment was I expected to gain knowledge and taste for the ethnic foods of Montreal. We only had one such tasting. Having ice cream and coffee was not what I expected even though they were locally owned. I can get these things easily myself without a guide.

David was the best guide. Not only did we experience exceptional food, he also gave us lessons in history and hidden gems of Montreal. He was warm, funny and an a pleasure to snack and walk with. Very highly recommended.

Excellent food tour that highlighted the Jean Talon market but also branched beyond it by taking us through some nearby Latin and Italian neighborhoods. Guide Jesse was excellent - knowledgeable and a great communicator.

You will feel like you serendipitously happened upon it all at a perfect pace though of course it has been painstakingly orchestrated by the owner Danny and his team. You will learn, eat, laugh and wish you the tour could go on forever.

Our guide, Chris was very engaging. He knew lots about the local neighborhoods and lots about food. Took us to a variety sit down restaurants and market vendors. It was a very interesting and enjoyable day. Great combination of food and city. Ending with chocolate tasting was PERFECT!

We really enjoyed this food walking tour. Our guide Jesse was great. He combined varied and good global foods not normally associated with Montreal and with really interesting backstories and history. It was away from the old touristy centre so we got to see another part of the city. It was a small group that meant we had a lovely time with the other tour members. We would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Emilie was a wonderful native from Quebec area and gave us lots of history of the area and insights of living in Montreal. Small group of 8 people. There were many food stops along the way, very diverse foods, interestingly no "French" restaurants. I think the most popular stop for many was the huge open-air market where we tried cheeses, pita apps, smoked salmon, and ice cream. This was about 30min drive from where we were (main train station and old Montreal area)... We Ubered with no problem. Very worth it to get away from the tourist areas. If I were to suggest anything, I would probably drop the ice cream, coffee, and/or chocolate stops and have more bites at local restaurants. And a little wine on a stop would be wonderful and I think most would love. But would definitely still recommend this tour to get a feel for the real Montreal!

Fantastic food tour with Chris which took us to a neighborhood of Montreal we would not have visited. Was easy to get to the meeting point Los Planes restaurant via the metro. Chris took us to 9 different restaurants and one spice store to sample a wide array of food. Along the way we stepped into an older Italian church with interesting art work and wandered around the produce Marche Jean Talon . Chris was knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood. Overall an excellent tour!

Our guide, Mel, took us on a culinary tour of Montreal. We started with pupusas at a Salvadorian restaurant (my first pupusa - won't be the last!), then moved on to Little Italy for a canollo, then a visit to the Marché Jean-Talon for goat cheese, Syrian snacks, salmon, spices (smelling, not tasting), ice cream, and more. There was also coffee and we ended with delicious chocolate. Mel was funny, informative, and helpful; she made sure that those of us with dietary restrictions were covered, and she told us a lot about the people who live in the areas we visited. I really enjoyed the tour, and I'm glad we did a lot of walking before and afterwards!

Learned a lot about the different communities within Quebec & never hit any cliches. Definitely doesn’t feel mainstream touristy. Highly recommend

The foods we tried were all so good, it was our mistake that we didn't tell the tour beforehand that we didn't eat meat, but it didn't stop our enjoyment of the tour. Highly recommended.

A mixed bag of tastings, whilst getting to know a part of Montreal a tourist would normally not get around to seeing.

It is definitely an original tour and skips the standard stuff like poutine, smoked meats etc. So very enjoyable and certainly recommendable. Also Jesse provided very nice background stories about the city‘s history and the families operating the different places visited and tasted.
