Our departure experience at **Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL)** involved far more standing in line than we expected. We arrived by Uber without any difficulty and rolled our two suitcases to the airline check-in area. After presenting our boarding passes on our cellphones and completing check-in, we expected to part company with our checked luggage, as we normally do at our home airport in Atlanta. Instead, we were directed to take our suitcases with us to another area for baggage screening. There we joined a slow-moving line for our checked bags to be X-ray screened. One of the two X-ray machines was apparently out of service, which certainly didn't help. We spent approximately **45 minutes in line** before finally reaching the point where we could leave our luggage with airport personnel for screening and further handling. Then it was on to another line for passenger and carry-on security screening. We were instructed to remove our shoes and have nothing in our pockets—not even paper. I consolidated my Samsung phone and wallet clip into my wife's purse, sent everything through the usual X-ray screening, and fortunately that portion of the process went smoothly. Afterward, we were directed to **Gate 86**, which seemed to be the very last gate and required a substantial walk. All I could think was: thank goodness it was Gate 86 and not **86 seashells**! One part of the airport experience, however, could hardly have been smoother: **passport processing using facial recognition**. It was remarkably simple and efficient. After the electronic image recognition, we were through with virtually no fuss. The contrast was striking. The passport process seemed thoroughly modern, while our checked-baggage experience seemed unnecessarily cumbersome. From a passenger's perspective, a more logical system would separate passengers from their checked luggage when check-in and boarding documents are confirmed. The passengers could then proceed directly toward security while their checked bags continued separately through the airport's baggage-handling system. Instead, our experience required us to check in, continue hauling our luggage to another location, stand in a lengthy baggage-screening line, finally surrender the bags, and only then proceed to passenger and carry-on security. Perhaps our experience was made considerably worse by the malfunctioning X-ray machine, but the overall process struck me as inefficient. Any time-and-motion expert would have plenty to study here. YUL certainly has its strengths, and the passport-processing technology was impressive. But the checked-baggage process we encountered could use substantial improvement. Montréal famously hosted **Expo 67** and later the **1976 Summer Olympics**. Some aspects of YUL felt considerably more modern than others. **Overall rating: 3 out of 5 stars.**

Pick up by Olivier was perfect - he was right on time at the designated meeting spot, polite, courteous and a careful driver.

The operator is not very communicative about pickup, we ended up needing to call while at the airport to locate our driver. Overall a fine pickup and great driver, just not as smooth as some others we’ve done.

Very accommodating! We were delayed over an hour due to Canadian customs computer shutdown and our limo company and driver accommodated this delay and waited and pick us up just as soon we were through customs and baggage pick up.

My only concern is that the instructions were not clear once exiting baggage claim. I was not suew where to meet the driver so I had to call. There should be more clarity. With that said, the driver was excellent

Comfortable and efficient transfer from the airport to our Old Montreal hotel. It additional airport fee was a surprised, but 15 Canadian isn’t much (if you have Canadian money at the airport). Overall a pleasant experience.

Expected the driver to meet us inside the airport. We spent quite a bit of time trying to connect with him outside in the general pickup area. At the very least he should have been at the curb like the other car services. Not a good experience.

The driver was great. However, the process was difficult. The first number I called was the wrong one, even though it was in the instructions. The answering party was not helpful. Next time I will use a setvice that meets us inside ny baggage claim with a sign and pur name.

Driver didnt show up. Claimed they were given wrong arrival info. I did follow their process by contacting them day before. Was told all in order, confirmed. Requesting refund.

Our driver was excellent! They showed up promptly when we called. They spoke to us throughout the ride to our loft in Old Montréal and recommended things to do and places to eat.

Getting through immigration and customs was a long duration because a number of planes landed in a short period of time. The walk from arrival to get to the exit was rather long. The driver was very good about contacting us and being patient. The drive was pleasant.

Being new to Canada I expected to see a driver waiting outside in the waiting area. I gave them all the correct information of my arrival but due to the fact I had to go thru customs it took me 45 min longer to reach the driver area. I wasn’t able to text the company to let them know. After 30 min and asking for some help, the company called and asked where was I, told them I was at the pickup area, he asked why I didn’t call or text. He informed me that the driver had already departed but would come back. When the driver got there he appeared to be annoyed at having to come back. He wasn’t very friendly after I apologized several times for the miscommunication. I am sure he was annoyed as we were now in rush hour traffic. Not very friendly.

We had the pleasure of having a guy named Billy who picked us up from YUL Airport! He gave outstanding service, he was kind helpful, and very knowledgeable of the City. He gave us great insight on the City and it’s Culture! I would give Billy a 10 out of 10 for excellent customer service!!!!!!

When we got YUL and called to get the car, was simply told "we have no cars available and can't pick up you and hung up. I'm sitting in the airport with a wife, an 83 year old mother who requires assistance, and I'm simply told I won't have a ride. What is the POINT of scheduling? What is the POINT of trusting this company. NONE!

Drove from airport to edge of downtown Montreal. There was a demonstration about global warming and many streets were blocked. He told us he could go no further and unloaded our 3 big suitcases on the street. We had to walk 11 blocks (I am 70 and husband is 75). When we finally made it to the hotel (both totally worn out), there was a map in our room showing routes around the demonstrations that would get us to the hotel. If the driver had told us of the problem, we might have stayed somewhere closer to the airport and taxied into Montreal the next day. He didn't give us that option!

The gentleman was waiting on us when we arrived at the airport. He was so helpful, informative, and professional.
