The tour was well worth the money. Louis, our tour guide, was informative without being overly serious and our driver Angelo got us around the city like a pro.
We had a really good tour. Our guide Francois was very knowledgeable and articulate and kept things interesting and also kept things moving. We saw things we wouldn’t have had the time to get to in our few days in Montreal. I especially liked seeing Mount Royal , the Olympic stadium, Habitat and the stop at a neighborhood market. A great overview of a beautiful city.
Great experience. Comfortable and clean bus. Interesting information. Travel guide and bus driver very knowledgeable.
The tour provides a very good thoughtful overview of Montreal. The guide was bilingual- very rushed to provide explanations.
The tour only has 2 places where we were allowed get off and take pictures: Notre Dame and Mount Royal park. Bring your own snack/lunch as the market we stopped at had limited options. Sit on the right side of the bus for the views.
Make sure you understand about whether you get picked up from your hotel and if you will be dropped off after the tour. We did get picked up, but we were under the assumption that there would be drop off also. Meeting place is a bit farther than the typical meeting place for tours at Place d'Arms. Big bus with lots of people, maybe a good intro to the city, but with such a big bus, it took a lot of time to get on and off, so we didn't have that many opportunities to take photos. Tour was conducted in both French and English, so a bit confusing for some to listen to the other language, then suddenly have to pick up what the tour guide was saying in your own language.
Good introduction to Montreal. Pleasant staff, they were helpful and knowledgeable. We saw the city and were able to plan activities for the remainder of our trip.
It was a very interesting tour. I learned a lot about Montreal. The fall colors were stunning. Debbie was a great guide!
Great tour guide. A local guy who loves his job and shows even his home! You will enjoy this tour. We enjoyed it.
There were 48 on the bus and driver gave commentary in English then French. It took too long for everyone to get off the bus at the short stops, especially when we were given only a short time for the stop. The route was interesting and informative. At the end of the trip, the driver said he would drop us off near our hotel as was part of the description when we booked the trip. However, he must have passed the stop and when he came to the final stop, we asked him about our hotel. He said he announced it, which he did not, then told us that the current last stop was not far from the hotel. We had difficulty finding where our hotel was located from that point and it was over a 15 minute walk.
Just sit back and enjoy and don't plan anything afterwards in case of traffic. Tour guide translation was more in French vs English
A good overview of Montreal highlights with wonderful humorous commentary. Highlight was a small local market in East Montreal, off the regular tourist area.
The sightseeing trip was very worth while. We ended up with a 4 hr ride because traffic was forgiving and we could visit more places. Dominic, our driver, was highly entertaining and knowledgeable as he zipped the bus thru the narrow streets. Highly recommend.
Content was good, felt it lasted about 30-45 minutes too long. Drive out to local market was not necessary. Driver needs a wireless Mike versus driving one handed hold a Mike while driver, rather unsafe!
Extremely knowledge is a tour guide using Multilingual commentary complete with history . Save your money and do not book any other tour, you will not want them.
I did not receive a ticket from the tour company. It was pending according to TripAdvisors. Of course they charged me
Jillian the guide , intelligent and knows his stuff Angelo the driver .... excellent Both have nice manners and attentive
Excellent tour. Driver was excellent. The small market stop was fantastic. Montreal is a beautiful city
Great and fun tour. The bus driver, Angelo was excellent and courteous. The commentator (sorry forgot the name) was very knowledgeable and a great story teller. Learned a lot about the city and its culture. We really enjoyed the tour. Highly recommend.
Very good tour of Montreal. Our guide was great! I would recommend it to anyone I know who is going to Montreal.
The tour guide was phenomenal! So knowledgeable and entertaining. The time went by very quickly and I learned so much!
Traffic especially with protests going on is shocking but the tour still makes it through . A beautiful city definitely worth exploring
The double decker tour was sold out but the company quickly added motor coaches to the route to accommodate more people. That was great because it was a chilly windy day. Amazing guide and a beautiful city.
A good experience but would have been good to stop at a few more sights. This was just riding in the bus. But if you are here for a day then its good to see something in 3 hours.
Very good overview of the city. Comfortable bus. Knowledgeable tour guide. Good amount of stops and photo ops. Friendly staff.
This tour was excellent. The guide was informative and had a great sense of humor. He obviously was very knowledgeable about the area. Our bus driver was also great - and there is a lot of traffic in Montreal to navigate! We highly recommend this tour if you are visiting the Montreal area.
Too much time on bus. The stops that we're supposed to happen did not. In construction traffic quite a bit for over hour. Didn't see Notre Dame Basilica, Old Montreal or Mont Royale The van was arranged to pick us up at hotel and did not show up and had to pay $15 for Uber
The stop outside Notre Dame cathedral was wonderful but we were unable to make other stops because of blocked roads and missed several of them most iconic places such as Mount Royal and Old Montreal cobblestone streets. The driver stopped at a local supermarket for us to use bathrooms and get a bite to eat which was very nice.
Excellent tour guide, knowledgeable, pleasant, helpful. Great way to see the city. No need to have me use 100 characters.
Terrible. Unclear directions on pick up points. Overpriced for the fact that it’s not really a hop on hop off- most sites are pass byes, not stops. It is basically a one loop of the city tour.
Hello, I bought the Montreal City Sightseeing Tour via TripAdvisor. However, All tour were cancelled due to World Grand Prix cyclist competition during September 20 thru September 27, 2026. My booking ticket was for September 23, 2026. I would like to get my refund. let me know where should I sent the request to
Liked the tour once we finally got on it. We had confirmed that we would be picked up at 12:15 in front of our hotel and were out there at 12:05 but at 12:30 had not seen them yet so I started trying to call the tour number and got someone who answered who said they would check on the situation and put me on hold then let me know. However, I was on hold for almost 30 minutes and no one ever came back to explain what happened. We were about to give up when at about 1:05 someone came to pick us up with no explanation about what happened or why they were so late. The driver simply drove us to the tour bus that had already started so we missed the first 10 minutes of the tour. No one ever apologized or explained what happened. Once we were on the tour bus we enjoyed the tour and the tour guide's commentary.
Francois was an excellent speaker and his knowledge was extraordinary. Personable and relatable. Bus driver was great also.
We didn’t get off the bus much. And weren’t able to go into the church. We also didn’t get to go to the top of the mountain because of a bike race going on. Very disappointing. We went to a market instead and it was not anything but a grocery store and coffee shop.
Excellent tour.Great driver and excellent itinery. Good value for money. GOOD SENSE of humour. Enjoyable.
We felt our tour guide was excellent (both in French & English). However, the bus was too big and preferred the smaller van we had in St.John's a few days prior.
EXCELLENT! Dominique was THE BEST tour guide! Wonderful overview of the city. What a beautiful and vibrant city!
Very good your. Informative and interesting. Got a comprehensive feel for the city of Montreal. Tour guide, Dominic, was excellent. Knowledgeable and great sense of humor. Price was reasonable. Recommend!
The bus was comfortable but smelled strongly of air freshener. Our driver spoke in French and English the entire tour, which was a little exhausting listening the entire ride. I’m sure he was tired! Good information and a nice general orientation of Montreal. There was a bike race that prevented us seeing what is usually seen. That was not known to us when booking.
My wife and I were in Montreal getting ready to leave on a cruise and we wanted an interesting time-killer. We chose this offering and my wife prepped us for a 2-1/2-hour walking tour of Montreal; you can imagine my delight when we checked in with our tour operator and found out that we’d be spending four hours on a bus ride instead. Our excellent driver AND guide was Dominic. This is kind of a sedentary activity but we’d walked a long distance the day prior and the thought of riding around and seeing the sights rather than walking was appealing to us. Dominic took us around the town during which we stopped near the Notre Dame Basilica for a brief time and we also were dropped off for about 30 minutes at a neighborhood market, not a tourist trap, where the passengers had the chance to buy some fresh foods; many of us did. Dominic did a great job navigating Montreal’s tortuous streets, 110% of which seemed to be under some form of construction and were obstructed. This was a nice, entertaining way to see what Montreal is all about.
This is a teaser tour of Montreal City highlights. Note and plan to visit the favourite spots later. Specially the Notre Dame Basilica and the Aura Experience show there. Tour conductor can add the St. Joseph Oratory as one of the stops. If not then highly recommend to go there separately as entry is free. Also, Mount Royal Park, Biodome and Botanical Garden are well worth visits.
Our first time in Montreal great way to see Montreal and hear the history. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable
It was great. Dominic gave great information about Montreal. And has a great personality. I would definitely do this again and recommend to others.
We saw a lot of the city we wouldn’t have seen without the tour. The tour made a couple of stops where we could get off to look around.
Good tourguide for the citytour but very messy organisation. Didnt pick us up at the hotel the time they told us they would, disrespectful staff at the office who didnt want to listen to our feedback, turned their back towards us.
With just a day in montreal we were cou ting onThe Gray Line tour to give a thorough summary of Montreal sights and history. Tour was ok but needed more core history (who founded it? Why did the Expos leave? Etc.) And fewer Dad jokes.
There was only one short stop at a tourist site and one longer one at a grocery market. We were looking forward to seeing Mount Royal but were not able to. It was mostly lots of driving around taking pictures through the window. Our driver was excellent, however! He gets a 5/5.
It’s superior to the hop on hop off tour where the commentary is mostly recorded and sometimes difficult to hear properly. For this tour we had a live engaging personalised commentary where John Philip’s enthusiasm was infectious. Initially, we felt 3 and a half hours on the bus was going to be a bit too long but we got 2 stops one for a snack/toilet and the second for a half hour walk about at Notre Dame guided by John Philip. He and his driverAngelo worked as a great team helping people. After 3 other city tours this was by far the best. John Philip’s affection for Montreal was clearly evident and he was always amenable to questions. A good morning well spent.
Our tour guide was excellent and very informative about all facts and data about Montreal. Well worth the money!
